Stick with top altcoins in the market. Preferably go for top 10 but still its your own choice though because in my own
view I do saw that this would be good for coins that have high liquidity.

Why would opt for other coins if you can do it with BTC? One reason might be the chance of making profits on how many folds
since btc do already had high value and alts can give out that chance.

If you're asking which coins/tokens to have a long position in, you're pretty much just asking which coins to invest in.

Tell you what, if you don't want to exert your own effort into doing research on which projects actually could be a good long-term investment, then you probably shouldn't be doing investing in general. Do something else you're willing to actually spend time in instead.

Any belonging to the top 5 if you wanna make sure you would profit. But if you want to make the big bucks, research on your own about some of the new coins out there, if you manage to find a seemingly good investment, it's pretty easy to earn huge from the if you buy coins from them at a low price initially and wait for the price to pump cause of the project prospects.

Why would opt for other coins if you can do it with BTC? One reason might be the chance of making profits on how many folds
since btc do already had high value and alts can give out that chance.
Diversification I'd say. I mean, investing on other coins is one good choice traders could make, especially new ones if they don't really know how the market works.

for long-term trading? means that the intention is not trading but the intention is to invest because if trading usually people will always pay attention to market activities, news information and others. actually there are many choices besides bitcoin, there is altcoin which is profitable to trade. try to choose one of the altcoins in the top 20 coinmarketcap then focus on the coin of your choice and start trading. I myself trade on XRP, the profit is not much, but that's okay.

I do agree with this because I have done it.
Bought coins from one ICO project and then supported them until now.

You are trying to buy something with a long term life.
It needs to be the best.
We cannot just throw anything at you and then you will be satisfied with it.
That is not how it works. You will also need to join their group i.e. (Telegram or Discord) to strengthen your will to hold it.
In my case, it had been 2 years and I still have the coin and they are performing well with new updates.

Long term trading right? Go for any of the top 10 best altcoins. XRP, Ethereum, DogeCoin, any of these should work and should fit your requirements. Though if you're going for day trading, Some may not work for you so I'd say do your research on some of them before deciding to invest. Also, might as well try and research some brand new coins that are released every now and then. If the project looks quite good, invest a bit, one that you don't really mind losing. Be careful of possible scams or dead projects that are just being revived every now and then though. Waste of time and money tbh.

I think Bitcoin is one of the better long term holds, but some of the altcoins that have been around for a while and are not going anywhere would be good as well.

Like:
Ethereum
Monero
Litecoin

Those are probably really safe and u know they are here to stay.
There is also more risky ones like:
EOS
BAT
Binance coin

And more but, I think those are personal preferences as well,'Like other people have said in the topic you should really do your own research as well see what you like
For example I really like Streaming and gaming and in the last 10 years those 2 have become more mainstream, and it's only gonna grow more so thatswhy I really like a coin like Theta as well and I think it could do really good.
If u do research you will probably find a coin that you will like as well based on your personal preferences and hobby's!

Generally it is preferred to trade in well-known currencies such as eth, ltc, trx..etc
To avoid failed projects and thus loss
However, most traders prefer coins with a lower price because any slight movement in the price of profits is large, unlike currencies with large prices

I am not expert, only believe with big coins in coinmarketcap. And altcoin that i hold for long term for now is ETH. Although dumped, i don't think want to sell it as long i still can make earning from my real job. Maybe i hope ETH will pumped again when bitcoin pump come.

I supposed to think that you already know the top 10 Altcoins in the market, tried to choose among them and you'll see the result. I can't pinpoint which one among them cause I don't feel it was right. You'll free to choose among them and I don't want to influence that is why I giving you a chance to choose the best coin and that you feel the right coin for investment.

I usually use binance for trading, so I usually buy most of the altcoins listed there. But there are a few options, I only buy altcoin with high volume for safety, and projects must be in the top 100 of coinmarketcap. Those are the safest altcoins you can trade or hold in the long term. A few examples for you to refer to such as: ETH, NEO, EOS, XRP, LTC, Matic, BNB ...

Agree with you and as per me too, as much as possible I don't keep my crypo for long, I was frustrated and have learned my lessons before, holding other top coins for a couple of month or year but not really worthy as it dumped too hard and it makes me crazy everytime I see the price, I was patient of course, but with the bear market I lose hope, so now I am not much holding long term.

I got headline news about Ripple give time for delsiting their coin on exchange market, bad news for trading whit Ripple coin although on the top ten coins but not guarantee for profitable and looks down on market until right now, better whit other coin like BCH and ETH.

The best cryptocurrency that are worth it for trading aside from bitcoin are BCH, XRP, and ETH because it is one of the top altcoins in the market, and they all have potential to increase it's value in the near future, even they have a bad performance last year of 2018 and 2019 it definitely still has a chance to get back it's value.

I can only think of the coins in the top 15. Besides, the other coins are not able to implement the roadmap that they have set. I feel that the new alts with lots of potential like ATOM, Tomo, Cosmos, Link, Tezos all have the potential to thrive if the market is funded. these alts will grow very strongly and now on Binance it is still traded a lot, volume more than 50 bitcoins per day. so, you can trade at Binance and make a profit.

i trade all coins, so i have not favorit coins or i haven't especially coins to trade. only follow market conditions and buy the coins has good for take profit or potential to take profit in short time. my advice do not focus or  favorit with one coin because it be able to difficult to take profit, your favorit coins not all time has potential to take profit for daily

But I don’t recommend coins for short term.because short term trading depends on various factor. But for long term above coins are best for me,if you can afford then make a research and buy(my opinion,Think twice before investment)

For long term apart from the Bitcoin and ethereum I will never show the other coins in the altcoins list. We need to check the coins and value movement along with that we can see the daily fluctuating coins are really good to invest for short term.
Those coins only to make the profit and refunds for it.

Back in June 2019, you also ask the same thing here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5154115.msg51461126#msg51461126

More than half a year has passed, at least you should have an idea now on what coins should you choose. Not because someone got profit trading a particular coin, you will have the same experience with them. It's a matter of managing it along the way.

People have different preferences and you have to make your own.

No one really knows which crypto is going to be good for long term trading. The price of crypto currencies are extremely volatile. No one can predict whats going to happen to the coins in the future. Most of the price predictions are just normal guessing, that's it. The prices of crypto currencies are affected badly by almost every major events taking place in the world. Look at the recent price pump because of the events taking place between the US and Iran, but as soon as it has been declared that they are not willing to go on a war, the price started to fall once again.
Do your own research and find out for yourself which coins are actually good for long term trading. People over here will be biased towards the coins they have invested.

For a huge number of altcoins existed today, definitely, it will take time for you to study them all and analyze their market performance. And for that, I'll suggest not to go deeper just choose on the top altcoins https://www.investopedia.com/tech/most-important-cryptocurrencies-other-than-bitcoin/
Don't make yourself stressed about searching cause it is just a waste of time. If you know how to read/analyze their market chart for you to easily choose the best and profitable one because that is the only way it helps you, and that is a simple tip that I could give.

If its long term, I go for BNB and ETH. BNB so far has performed well and this company is very well managed so expect that this company will stay on top of its game since they keep on developing their exchange site and they keep on expanding to have a better reach of the market. ADA is also a good choice for long term holding.

I will choose XRP and EOS, even look's slow but the price and volume is stable. Has stable movement become good indicator to use it based long term period, if you're expert the point is play with quantity. Long term period strategy need to see chart history about movement and developer progress, if you doing that 90% analysis journey already done, 10% rest only about choosing the right coin.

There are coins that follow Bitcoin like LTC or BCH and with those you're still better with Bitcoin. You'll get the same effect but have a safer investment.

You can also try coins that follow the trend in general but can act up like Waves. Those are more risky but can offer big profit if you get lucky and catch the pump.

Anyway, I'd stay with Bitcoin.

I wouldn't bother asking people on Bitcointalk which cryptocurrencies are worth going long on. The number of shills and delusional bag holders on this forum is unbelievable.

With that said, I recommend that you take a look at what major hedgefunds are investing in, since they have likely done the research necessary to identify whether a crypto asset looks strong over the long term.

You can normally see their portfolio spread by looking through the hedgefund spec sheet.

I'm really confident regarding the current condition right now. But I always giving my shot more on Bitcoins rather than considering altcoins even it belongs to the top altcoins. And due to the fact that investing crypto is a risky thing, we should have carefully chosen the right coin/s for either short or long-term trading. We shouldn't just focus on the price today but to look deeper of its potentiality in the future.

So far, I prioritize bitcoin and ethereum. I think it is a coin that will have a very high price today. Until now, the two coins have the most recommendations in crypto trading issues, especially bitcoin because this year there will be halving soon.
besides that, I think top altcoin like XRP, BNB, BCH, LTC, Monero, and others can also be considered.

if for the long term only Bitcoin is safer and more stable, well even though there is down a price but that is normal I guess. but if you choose Altcoin, there are several Altcoins that you might be able to trade like TRX.  at least you check in the Coinmarketcap to find popular coins and you can join their telegram group for example while monitoring the development of their products and communities

Asking question here in the forum is also another way of doing personal research about which particular altcoins or project to invest for future benefit or profit.
"Personal research", suuuuure. More like spoonfeed-me-information-even-though-there's-so-much-information-on-the-internet. If it was actually "personal research", the questions would be very specific rather than "where to put my munnyz?".

If you don't believe so, which other place should be better for one to first hand information about a particular altcoins or project.
The internet in general! Search engines like Google exists for a reason- to make research a lot easier!

And if what I said is not enough and if you still want tips,

1. Read the whitepaper
2. Do research on what the developers/companies doing concerning the project
3. General background check
4. Research on how the current supply was generated
5. etc

Just like what others said dont rely with suggestions here its best to conduct your own research to have a better understanding on the particular coin. You will invest your hard earned money so be careful because anyone can suggest a coin that they want to shill.

Anyway I cant think of any coin for long term holding aside from bitcoin because its proven to be profitable if you hodl for long period. Well it depends on you which coin you prefer.

For hodl purpose, after Bitcoin, you should pick the top coins like ETH, LTC, EOS, BNB, LINK, ATOM and so on! Because there is less risk. But yet you should research yourself before investing in any coins, don't follow someone's prediction, strategy, make your own!

I am not expert, only believe with big coins in coinmarketcap. And altcoin that i hold for long term for now is ETH. Although dumped, i don't think want to sell it as long i still can make earning from my real job. Maybe i hope ETH will pumped again when bitcoin pump come.
Actually everyone is waiting for the moment of the Bitcoin Pump and one of the biggest things ahead is Bitcoin Halving, So we must ready for it. I personally also still believe in coins that are in the top 10 in coin marketcap, and I will continue to hold until their new ATH was reached again.
Some people maybe wait that bitcoin pump include me, but sometime there are other people who warn us,  hope they only want to warn us people so not really rely on bitcoin halving and when it is not like our expectation we not too dissapointed with that. Just afraid if people say that we must be careful because they only want cheap price to buy bitcoin.

I guess if you want to hold the coin for the long term, bitcoin is the best coins that you can invest. I am not sure if you choose the altcoin will give you a big profit in the future unless you can get a very low price, so you don't have to worry about the fluctuating of the coin price. But maybe you can check on the top 10-20 coin list, and if you can buy at a low price, you can hold that coin, but you need to be careful because if bitcoin price is down, that coin will also down, and you don't know how far the price will drop.

Hello people! I'm just wondering.. Aside from bitcoin, what are the other crypto that you are trading? And do you have any recommendation? Thanks in advance..
Kinda depends on what you want out of a coin isn't it? I mean if it is a high high return with high risk then you could always invest your money into some IEO that is coming out new and potentially could make you 30x of your money or lose 80% of all your money as well, you flip a coin there and hope you are right. If you want steady but surely growth over years, I am pretty sure there is no other like bitcoin, you should always consider that in your portfolio when you make one.

If you want both a bit steady but also risky, so in the middle of bitcoin and new coins, you could pick something out of top 10, however I would advise against bch, bsv, xrp, those are coins that are controversial, you can like them or hate them but having them on your portfolio will always be risky. Coins like eth, ada, dash, ltc, eos, bnb, monero would all be pretty decent ideas.

As for me, focusing on top coins like Eth, Xrp and Ltc would be an advantage because we'll have an assurance of gaining a good profit through it. I would prefer Ethereum because it has been consistent no matter what the market situation is so I believe that it's worth holding for a long term investment. I find it risky to invest with other altcoins especially those who aren't on the top list.

for long trading, make sure you choose solid coin. bcz long trading doesnt take an specified small movement
it means you must choose top coin in coinmarketcap. let's say ETH, BNB, LTC
those are the good one in crypto, but you should still make higher proportion in Bitcoin percentage.

No need to ask that since the answer for your question is already given already and that is the BTC since this top coin got more potential among other especially for this coming halving for sure it will create more demand and the potential will breakout, but if you are seeking for another one go with ETH since this old coin got also a great support and adoption these days.

In this market there are thousands of altcoins so you will have lots of options. But to be able to choose good altcoins is not easy, you need to carefully research the dev team, investors, volumes, community ... of those projects. If all is well and satisfactory, you can choose and invest. Today almost all altcoins are dead and it has caused a lot of investors to crash when investing in the long term. You need to consider carefully your choice

Remember if that will not give us a lot of profit. Long term will be less risk compared with the short term trade but when we are wanna getting more profit and we must deal with all of the risk.
I think everyone is very well known about what they are facing with. Just try to do long term with bitcoin and put small amoutns for the short term.

If you ask other cryptos that are traded besides bitcoin, then there are some altcoins that I trade. Sometimes I trade LTC, BNB, Ethereum, Doge and many other altcoins. I traded coins which roughly had the potential to rise in the following days or a few hours after that. But right now I didn't trade altcoin maybe there was about 1 month ago I stopped trading temporarily, because I was focused on bitcoin.

bitcoin is the best coin to invest in, if you're looking for altcoins i think it's best to just stick with top altcoins with good reputation like ethereum, other than that it's better to invest some of your time in researching, don't trust people here throwing which coin you should invest, it's really important to do your own research so invest some time.

Stick to the biggest market caps and you should be fine most of the time. At least with the scam part. If you figure out the time to get into the market and are sure the trade will be profitable overall then the biggest question is what usage/adoption there is for the coin. To me it's BNB as it is is hugely growing it's users base as Binance is strong as ever and not slowing down. Other coins have only charts behind them, but this one you really need to have. Most importantly fees discount (sweet idea in it's simplicity) but also holding it for VIP levels. With margin trading growing together to binance.com it's easy for it to become number 1 lending asset too.

Any crypto with a high volume. There's always plenty of activity to buy and sell. For months I've been in the process of trying to dump a particular coin, but the volume is so low.

Top 10 marketcap is already the safest to invest. People must recommending it too, but don't forget to set a stop loss don't care how sure you are about your investment, because in crypto anything could happen just like before the MATIC coin, one of top marketcap coins experienced some problems that could make the price destroyed

for long-term trading, Ethereum, doge, trx, xlm, this is a good and stable coin which follows the current market conditions, even though it is not in top performance, but if we follow the flow of those coins, it can make a profit even though it is not large too . For fast trading, you can search for and see from the top 5 coins that have high volumes, just don't buy that much yet, a little with a volume that is not too far away. And if you want to be patient, you can switch to old coins which are indeed stable.

looking at current price increases, I began to think that BCH and BCH SV are coins that are good enough to hold. that's because I see the price fluctuation sensitivity is very good. in fact, we can see the current price increase even exceeding the percentage of bitcoin. however, if BCH and BCH SV are not in your portfolio, this can be a recommendation.

because of the increase in bitcoin, I think almost all altcoin has increased. but as you said, the BCH and BCH SV charts have a good increase. unfortunately, I once saw that BCH SV was a bad asset and was not suitable for me to have. and now maybe everyone is getting interested because the movement is also promising.

I only like to hold Bitcoin because this coin is good for investors and in January the coin is improving greatly. I believe that in the near future Bitcoin can reach $12,000 if the market continues its uptrend. In addition, you can also choose some new coins because these are the coins that are very many investors and it is easy to raise prices if good news appears.

That's just my thought and the decision is still up to you because everyone has their own investment strategies to make a profit in the crypto market.

I trade litecoin and BNB daily. not in the long run. especially for BNB's assets, there is a huge risk when these coins are very dependent on their contention. there is a risk of being discarded at any time but in the short or daily I think the trading chart of these two coins is good enough for you to try.

You didn't read OP's question. He was asking about good coins aside from Bitcoin!

The best answer is coins that are widely available, have high volume and are visibly following Bitcoin. I'd choose BTC but if you really want to trade something else try ETH or BCH. LTC is also following Bitcoin so trading it is like trading a more volatile and weaker version of the king ;)
You can also try one of the possibly promising coins like EOS, BNB, BAT, but it's risky.

Many options for Altcoin that can be traded, but you must analyze first. at least 10 coins are popular in the Coinmarketcap with a strong volume and community. I personally chose the short term on TRX for now, because it follows the price of Bitcoin.

To avoid possible headaches in the future, don't choose those coin that have just started to get listed. Don't risk too much on these types of coins. If there are coins that are going to be the best in long term investment, choose those that have already made a name across the world within and inside the crypto environment. Consider ETH, LTC, XRP.

I personally chose the short term on TRX for now, because it follows the price of Bitcoin.

Tron is also good for the long term, prices have remained stable in the 150-300 sat area, this coin is very good for the monthly profit portion because many traders actively trade it.

Well, I'm currently trading a few of altcoins. But if you're looking for something to trade or to invest, it'd be better if you do your own research.
Most people in here are only telling what's in their bag, well, more or less. My advice would be try do some research on major altcoins, or the ones that has a high daily volumes. You could check the history of their prices and etc etc. It's a lot safer to invest on the one that has a good volume than new altcoins. Don't forget to only invest what you can afford to lose, because not everything is as planned.

Generally, Trading is for short term, not long term. it means that you dont have to care with project itself
all you need to care is volality. as long as the coin gives good volality, then you can stuck with it
so, all coin is possible to trade with. just looking coin with advantage to your own sake

Actually of OP is asking for suggestions then peoples would actually only suggest the coins they are holding means the coin they have in their bag because they might have their own research on the same.

Always making a research before investing in any of the coins is much necessary as investing without any research can make you have only loss. Also some of the newly launched utility coins might have lower volume but even they might give immense profits in the coming future because of their nature of yield. Markets would never run according to your planning so you always need to re-plan according to the market movements and invest accordingly.

You can diversify your investments with a smaller percentage into newly launched utility coins so that you can gain some high yield profits from their by being their early investor.

I think that you should take a look at XMR.

I assume what you meant by long trading is long term trading, not that you want to long something (which we are implying here). Monero has one of the best fundamentals out of all altcoins in the cryptospace right now, which is a lot to say given the fact that it is decentralized, it has a good community, as well as the fact that it is completely anonymous.

It may not produce the best short term returns but it is generally very stable and you will make sizable returns in a bull market overall.

I would recommend bitcoin and altcoins that were able to still have a good liquidity despite the market is bullish for 2 years.
There's a lot of choices in the market, we can check it here - https://coinmarketcap.com/

one of the rules I follow is to check its trading volume to see if people are really interested in trading the coin, and we can sort that in CMC.

Two coins: BTC and ETH, as these are likely to be the top-performing coins in 2020. Other alts can be quite tricky but in all, you should time your entry very well.

I would advise you to hold some portions of bnb and bch aside from bitcoin. These coins has the biggest potential to reach a rising value, when the market begins to show any progressive development.
Actually we may find it so hard to find those promising one, but if we're choosing a trusted asset, it will soon fulfill our financial goals within a long term timeline.

You're aware of bitcoin as the best crypto to be in the long position but if you want to look for any other crypto and start investing to altcoins for long position, you need to put some time researching what coins you have to buy.

Getting a crowd involved with your question is okay and reading the suggestions that we'll tell to you is also okay but, it wouldn't be enough to justify your way of choosing a coin that you'll be investing.

Most of the time I trade big market cap coins like ETH, LTC, and XRP because I'm looking for liquidity. Those coins volume are still nothing compared to BTC but my trading size isn't that big either so it's acceptable. I used to trade only on Bitmex because they're the only reliable margin exchange so far but recently Binance has caught my attention too with its variety of pairs.

So, that's my recommendation: big cap coins on big, reputable exchange.

for future predictions, of course, it will be very difficult. I myself prefer short or daily trading. yes because we can choose assets with high trading and we don't need to worry about long-term prices. our focus is only on the graph right then and there.
but if you want to trade for long-term assets, of course, choose assets with a good and mature platform development plan in the future. no matter the price is bad now the most important thing is they are supported by strong exchange and community. then in the future, such a project will have good value in the market.

Except for bitcoin, I think that there is no other altcoin that is good for long-term trading. You can check out all altcoins in this market and realize that since 2017 until now, most altcoins have fallen 20-100 times, and they can continue to fall in the future. . And thousands of other altcoins have become scam and die, I do not encourage you to hold altcoin in the long term because it is too dangerous. The altcoins you choose may die anytime in the future and you will lose everything

at least doing short-term trading also cannot be done on origin coins which will be traded to provide fast profits every day, because if it is wrong to choose coins to trade for the short term, of course the profit target that we set every day will not be achieved. another case with long-term trading, we can choose famous coins that have high trading volume so that in the future the coins we choose can increase in value and can provide large profits

Actually all altcoin is very suitable for long-term investment, but sometimes traders prefer to make altcoin as a short-term investment asset because it is more profitable even though the profit can be very small, while traders are more likely to make bitcoin as a long-term asset at this time because of the price bitcoin is indeed speculative so when bitcoin prices increases occur of course traders who store bitcoin will get a large profit.

For long term trading you have to trade with something stable coin. Though you can't big profit but another thing is your risk is very low. Personally i recommend two coins namely TEM which one is not CMC listed coin but it’s very future brightest coin you can trade from coinall exchange. SXDT is too much profitable coin specially for the long term trade.

that's a major coin and it's not not a big deal but i remember if ethereum is less on its volatility right now. I personally always try to trade with any coins that already listed on binance and i don't care so much about what kind of coin as long as it has a very good fundamental and that's worth to try. Maybe top ranking coins will be a good choice for long term trading because they have demand that is at least better than bottom coins. So, all the choices go back to your own because it's useless when many people who provide input for coins traded but you are afraid or hesitant to start, then all the input you receive is not done as it should.

If we talk about cryptocurrency that is good for long-term investment, the most profitable is of course bitcoin. But answering the question
which crypto except bitcoin is good for long-term investment, namely coins / tokens which are included in the  top 50 ranked altcoins.
Like ETH, LTC, XRP, BNB and XLM. The five coins that I have mentioned in my opinion have very good potential for long-term investment.
So most likely if we are lucky with hold that coins will be able to generate substantial profits.

Now altcoins are very cheap and many investors are considering more because I believe top 10 coins will tend to rise if Bitcoin can reach $10,000 in a short time. Of course this is just my personal prediction and everything needs to depend very much on your final decision. I think 2020 will be a very favorable year for everyone and you can buy it now because the altcoin season is likely to return in April.

Beside, there will be more new investment funds participating in this market and will certainly attract a lot of investors so please consider and choose the coin that can bring profits.

Talking personally, I found BNB and NEO most profitable ones so far from my portfolio. It happened to me perhaps because I was among the early investors for both of these coins and once the coins were launched, the price quickly started moving in an ascending graph which made me have high yields.

I am always in search of such coins and once you find a better working product who is going to launch their token/coin you can quickly buy that similar to BNB because such coins usually have high demand depending on their utility and it derives their price to a greater extend giving us immense profits. Also trading with BNB is giving me good profits even in the bear markets.

actually quite good to see the potential of each coin, especially if the coin has high fluctuation and the same signal. then it's easier to use. only me, there are always some coins that must be in your wallet to be stored in the long run, and that is a coin that really has potential. so far, I know that bitcoin and ethereum will make a big development this year, so I think both of these coins are very well retained in the long run.

They have released products and even upgraded them several times. They are not to be avoided. What are to be avoided are those that are, as I have said, newly listed. Many of them have not even get past the beta stage of their products, have low volumes, have not name recall of their brands, and so on.

I can't give you advice for you to follow, but I only hold TRX, DOGE and ETH in the long run, because other crypto projects that have just arrived in 2019 seem like many are not viable for the long term, so I play it safe for my investment, I also trade often playing the three altcoins above, occasionally looking for profits to multiply my profits little by little

Altcoins are options that are difficult to predict and cannot be sure when the coin will rise, so all decisions need to be carefully considered. I think at this point only Bitcoin is the safest coin, and there is always an uptrend if the market is stable. Maybe your options were very good when the altcoin season came out but until now those coins haven't been up and that's why I won't choose to invest.

However, only ETH is the best option for you to hold long-term but should also be careful because the bear market can return at any time and if not careful, you will easily panic sell.

All forecasts related to the cryptocurrency market are based on the long-term trend of Bitcoin, so it is most logical to bet on BTC.

for future predictions, of course, it will be very difficult. I myself prefer short or daily trading. yes because we can choose assets with high trading and we don't need to worry about long-term prices. our focus is only on the graph right then and there.
but if you want to trade for long-term assets, of course, choose assets with a good and mature platform development plan in the future. no matter the price is bad now the most important thing is they are supported by strong exchange and community. then in the future, such a project will have good value in the market.
cryptocurrency is full of surprise and manipulation, we do not know exactly what will happen in the future. the reason I am suggesting theta for the future because of their development, they are constantly updating their platform it has a big chance to be "a new youtube" based on a cryptocurrency platform after checking their performance and platform and their experience in this industry.

Why did you choose to hold DOGE in the long term? I didn't see any significant increase for DOGE and it was not a good altcoin to invest. Investing in TRX and ETH is a good choice but for DOGE I recommend thinking and choosing another altcoin better, like NEO, EOS, BNB ...

Well if you are a short tempered person then doge is not good for you since it will take time to earn with it since doge became stable and maintain it's stand. And I  love to hold this since when bull run effects on the market doge is one who got benefited on it and provably it will do the same to and your selections is good so it's up the the OP now on what is his instance on our suggestion.

I got your point. I guess TS is just too excited to know the answer that is why he posted this question and he wants to maximize his time while doing his research. To TS, I guess I think you need to research first then you share what you have fund out then the members will do the confirmation and reactions from what you have posted.

I agree with both of you! Mk4 is right, long-term trading is actually investing in holding for a long-term before selling, and who is not
willing to spend some time in doing a simple research shouldn't invest money in crypto-currencies. Cryp24x you are right too, who wish
to do it properly should research first then to compare his research with others, and posting his findings is great to, in that way he can
see reactions and to make decision after consultation with other investors.

Altcoin, which I recommend holding for a long time, has been in the crypto market for at least 3 years, and the current ROI at current prices has at least increased by over 200%.
I cannot mention the name of altcoin which is highly recommended, because each risk you will accept, so do it yourself.

If you're asking to invest your own money then I would suggest you to do research on your own. Many of the Altcoins have the potential in the long run. Ethereum would be the best one in Long run as it has lots of things going on in 2020. Other than that BNB, LTC and XRP is good for long run.

Definitely Ethereum, Monero, EOS, are a few of the main Crypto's I think are here to stay and are my safe recommendations :)

Some more risky ones that arent here as long or have a lower marketcap are:
Theta
Bat

But for sure you have to do some research in the Altcoin announcement Section, it is like finding a needle in the haystack in there and you have to watch out with scams but you can def find a good long term project that gets you motivated!

I would recommend Bitcoin as the best cryptocurrency for long-term trading.  although the price of Bitcoin is changing rapidly but in every year shows greater growth compared to other cryptocurrencies.  if you did not have a lot of capital or you don't really like Bitcoin trading (for reasons of rapid price changes), You can still make Binance coins, Dash, Tron or Bitcoin Cash as your long-term trading.

before, my portfolio was only at BTC and ETH. But after I researched and looked for some information, I added BNB to my portfolio. to invest in crypto, I suggest not to make decisions too quickly, all of them have to go through research and find various information about crypto that you want to buy. It must be remembered, the crypto market is very volatile, so you must be careful not to lose money.

I'm not very interested in popular coins with a few percent increase in one month.
actually every exchange has a coin that can go up more than 200%, long-term trading does not promise profits of more than 100%.
You have to find some other potential coins, and those aren't popular coins like eth.

Yes, but it's also a lot more of a risk. That coin you invest in to that no one has ever even heard of may end up being completely worthless. Some people are perfectly happy with their 100% year to date last year on Bitcoin. Plus, there's still a chance of even better returns coming this year. You don't have to make 200% a month to end up making good money in the long term. It's a risk versus reward thing.

In addition to investing in Bitcoins we certainly have a choice in some of the altcoins that already have potential such as the top 10 coins in Coinmarketcap and there we can choose which altcoin we want to invest, actually Investing in Altcoin is very good because with a Pas-pasan capital we can do it, while in Bitcoins we must have a big capital because the price is quite high when compared to the Altcoin, and the profit is different.

Curious question for me too. I like DOGE a lot but I would never really call it a coin for investing. I have held mine but also flipped it a couple of times when it is closer to 100 satoshi,,, and buying back when it is low like now. But not for serious investment ever.

Then again, I personally think DOGE is better than BNB so ;)

Yes, a lot of altcoins can increase sharply in the long run but after so many suggestions, most of these altcoins have not returned to the right value, even that it did not increase as we expected, so regardless of the offers in this market, it would not be highly recommended when there were lots of holes in the calculations. If I talk about a cryptocurrency that has the most trust and feels the best in the long run, I still believe that bitcoin will be the spiritual support for all, the recovery and going up always maintain in a perfect state, suitable for us to go long term

If you are just new into the cryptocurrency community, the safe answer for your question will be just follow the trend of people who invest into the top performing or ranked cryptocurrencies which is just easy to search over the internet. Investing into those Altcoins that belongs to the top rank will be the safest choice and move for newbies specially for those who do not really have a background experience about cryptocurrency. Top ranked Altcoins like Ethereum will be a good choice because it has already proven its capacity and capability based on its past performance in the market and it is also one of those cryptocurrencies that people demand aside from Bitcoin. But if you already have background and you are up into exploration into new Altcoins or even those that have already existed a long time ago, you will be able to find potential Altcoins that is worthy for trading, and you will be the one to determine and decide based on your standard for a cryptocurrency coin. Doing research for your own sake will be good on looking for potential coins but since you are new, getting into the top ranked Altcoins will do for now until you familiarize everything about cryptocurrency.

If we see a good potential on our asset, of course trading volume is the main factor to acquire good profit. First of all don't over estimate that it's always going to be a 100% result. There's should be a tolerance for a certain value, because cryptocurrency is volatile and can't stabilize at an specific range. In choosing an asset for long term trading, just deal with bitcoin all alone while for altcoins can be at the least priority.

if you can know what's the coin which can go pump like that, then great. do it!!

But if we criticize that strategy, here's weakness of that strategy.
There are thousands altcoin which have low volume in market. Most of them is a shit
whether I agree that low volume can pump more than 100% in short time, But remember again that most of them is shit
the good altcoin which can go pump more than 100% is so so so little

in the last, I would say that probability to win is very low. So, dont wonder why many people underestimate that strategy

yes, I understand it's not easy to find 100% profits from altcoin increases.
but that often happens in small exchanges like latoken, low volume but the increase can even look crazy.

I think Bitcoin and eth are one of the good long-term holdings but Litecoin - A cryptocurrency created with the goal of becoming "digital silver" in relation to Bitcoin, "digital gold". This is also a fork from Bitcoin, but unlike BCH, this coin creates a block 4 times faster and has a maximum amount of coins 4 times: 84 million in circulation.

To choose crypto is good for long term, I suggest buying ethereum and binance coins, why do I recommend both coins.
Because they both have high popularity. Which means it has a high volume too, so it is suitable for hold for long term.
Because surely in the future the opportunities for ethereum and binance coins are very large to be able to generate large
profits as well. In addition to the two they both have developers who are still active. So it is very likely that prices will
continue to rise if hold.

I do hope that ethereum and bnb holders will stay strong as they prefer to stay deligent on their decisions of making their asset reach to maturity. Even though the last years of experience was hard to move on, but still their burning sensation wasn't dying. Their determinations to achieve success was there, and with this years journey of these two coins; it's either of the two will shine substantially. Both were having the biggest potential to beat other following crypto coins, which still going to rise.

Any popular and liquid coin is very good for long term trading, mainly such coins are high on the market
What the meaning of coins are high on the market ? are the high on the market that high volume in the market? i think not all coins are high volume on the market good for hold long term.
the most popular coin is bitcoin so i think bitcoin is best choice to hold for long term. hold altcoins are high risk so better hold only bitcoin if you want to long term

altcoins not as good as bitcoin , honestly i am holder or investor in ethereum for two years but i get dissappointed for my investment
no problem with your little capital, because bitcoin can buy with little capital its mean you shouldn't to buy one full bitcoin . you can buy part bitcoin like 0,001 . 0,01 or 0,1 etc its better than buy alt

Hello people! I'm just wondering.. Aside from bitcoin, what are the other crypto that you are trading? And do you have any recommendation? Thanks in advance..

Ethereum is next on my personal trading list. If I learned anything about this mini bull-run from 7k+ to 8k+, is to use leverage trading On either BTC or ETH, those two can bring some huge returns if you catch a good entry point.

5. etc
Google search engine will not just provide you information without link to a website or an article written by someone. Google search can equally link you to this forum.

in the top coinmarket you can see good coins / tokens to be an investment but bitcoin is still everyone's choice for long term investment, please go to coinmarket (https://coinmarketcap.com/) to see for yourself

Basically, trading is for short term, and investing is for long term.

if you wanna know coin which suitable for long term, of course that coin must have good fundamental, not only technical
bcz fundamental affects so much in long term view. although technical affects in short term view

Bitcoin is the best choice so far. But if you wanna invest in another, the simple way is just buying top 10 cmc
those have good fundamental coin which suitable for long investing

I think Bitcoin is one of the better long term holds, but some of the altcoins that have been around for a while and are not going anywhere would be good as well.

of course altcoin will be a good type of coin to hold for a long period of time, and everyone believes that the more people who hold large amounts of bitcoin, then be able to reduce the amount of available bitcoin supply so that its value will be more valuable. it's likely that some potential altcoins will also experience the same thing as bitcoin

Yes, Bitcoin is ideal for long-term storage, because this coin will sooner or later grow and make a profit.

I can't give you advice for you to follow, but I only hold TRX, DOGE and ETH in the long run, because other crypto projects that have just arrived in 2019 seem like many are not viable for the long term, so I play it safe for my investment, I also trade often playing the three altcoins above, occasionally looking for profits to multiply my profits little by little
More possibility to failed your doge coin if your purposes to hold for the long term, this my prediction now your choice what can you keep hold or not.

Another 2 different coins going in the right track you will must profit in the long run, because those are future potential coins.
I prefer you can sell DOGE to buy BTC, i hope you will get much profit in this long term investment.

For longterm BTC seems like the best choice obviously. The rest of crypto market is lagging behind it so nothing is gonna explode without BTC doing this as well.. Investing in crypto is a risk on it's own, so you might wanna reduce it to having BTC only. Trading other coins is basically leveraging on BTC and it can bring higher profits overall but is clearly more risky as well. Most of other coins behave very seasonal as well so they are not very good long term hodls.

I think for long term trading you should only invest in top altcoin like Eth, LTC or ETC. All these coin have one common thing that they are POW coin and this currently an advantage of these coin because the price will more stable and can not too low with the mining fee.

the title says 'Good for Long trading" meaning are you asking for a currency that you can hold longer time?

though Bitcoin is really indeed the currency that almost all us holds yet there are many altcoins that we can rely to bring us profit like Ethreum and some tokens.

i don't want to mention many because it is your task to find one,but just check the top 20 currencies and token to be safer .

so far nothing is better than ethereum. maybe BCH SV, BTG and others, the increase is higher now, but so far there is no better coin than ethereum that I can offer. however, it all depends on your decision, you can see it for yourself. besides, so far people have also suggested holding bitcoin and ethereum

Why many people recomendations ethereum to hold for long term, i save ethereum because many people said that ethereum is best choice for long term beside bitcoin, but in fact after hold for long term i get dissappointed so much because ethereum price tend to decrease more often.

based that better to save Litecoin, or dash than ethereum  :)

I would suggest Bitcoin as the best long-term investment crypto-currency that can bring you the biggest profit over time.  Though Bitcoin's price is rapidly changing it seems that it is actually making higher lows almost every single year. This is a key indicator that it is a really good investment and that it will probably keep on growing in the future. I don't really touch any altcoins.

I'll just go for ETH pairs. Good to buy xrp now. Still cheap. I usually buy when alts prices go down and just leave on exchange. Set sell order and just leave them. Gives profits all the time.

exactly, true ethereum is best choice beside bitcoin for long term trading and many people in this forum said that like agree with this. ethereum has rank 2 in coinmarketcaps it also make people believe in ethereum. so this is best time to buy ethereum save it and sell when ethereum reach high price when halving coming.
