Title: Bitcoin still or altcoins
Post by: Byakuga on January 10, 2020, 02:49:17 PM
Putting all my money on bitcoin is more smarter than going for altcoins? I think bitcoin will always surge even if it loses value today, i never think twice about this anymore because in the past if i never switched to altcoin i would have be in big profit today, what do you guys think about my plan? Stupid or 👍

I choose with altcoin only as trading way how to increase my reward value because I only have little money, but if have much money I will invest and trade with bitcoin, many feature and profit when you have much money and trade with bitcoin because bitcoin have stable price and potential to higher price every time, for altcoin need moment each month raise to higher price.

Yeah, i too feel more confident with bitcoin that is why i try to hold any amount of btc all the time, so that even if i sellnin need i try to buy again as soon as i have some funds available, while alts can be severly risky so i have less confidence in them other than btc my choice is eth only.

A lot of people feel the same way as you do. Bitcoin pretty much established itself already on the cryptocurrency world that we can't even imagine it going down unlike most altcoins as of now. This is not to be mistaken, for there are still tons of altcoins out there that has potential to grow. They just need support and crowdfunding much like what we have did with bitcoin.

Can be concluded, bitcoin is the main of everything in crypto-world. it is true that altcoin is more profitable, but the risk is also greater. to remember too, if the price of bitcoin falls then the average altcoin also follows, so the movements of almost everything depend on bitcoin. When viewed technically, bitcoin is a definite income, it's just that people lose in trading because of emotions that do not support. every year bitcoin fluctuations are very striking to make a profit, it's just that bitcoin is very difficult to make a new ATH, maybe we will see and halving will soon start.

It all depends on your choice. There are many altcoins that are experiencing growth, but bitcoin is the best if you are hesitant to invest in altcoin

Putting your money all in bitcoin is good,  but i think it's better also if you have some investment in altcoins because price of some reputable altcoins will increase also especially when bitcoin bull run start.  Invest some percent of your money in ethereum or in litecoins.

I think that you should move this thread to altoin speculation rather then keeping it in altcoin discussion. Because right now you are pointing discussion towards price.

Every people have different opinion on managing their portfolio. The are people who are successful earning big out of Bitcoin investment and altcoin investment. There are altcoins that have got higher growth percentage than bitcoin, but in terms of assurity Bitcoin is trusted more than altcoins. Op believes that he could have earned big if you haven't med investment over altcoins. It is his view, and the same won't come to reality everytime.

Take a look at both Bitcoin and Altcoins and see who performs better over the 7d : https://coinmarketcap.com/all/views/all/
There are certain Altcoins that outperform Bitcoin by a wide margin already.

There are sites like this one --> https://messari.io/screener that let you compare ROI of both Bitcoin and Altcoins over the years.
I suggest you do some comparison.

In general during bear markets most Altcoins perform worse then Bitcoin, while during bull markets most Altcoins outperform Bitcoin.

Putting all your money on bitcoin could be more profitable but it surely is node a wise idea. No investment expert would suggest you to put all your money on a single asset or field. Though bitcoin may be a sure shot way to succeed but you should always be prepared for the worst case scenario.

Not all altcoins are bad and there are some altcoins that have gone up until now even if you choose it well you will benefit too.
The right choice if you place it all the way in bitcoin, of course it would be advantageous for you to hold bitcoin at any time and that bitcoin has the potential to increase like this, and if altcoin is only short-term so that it doesn't suffer big losses but just a small profit.

Market growth seems to occur equally for bitcoin and altcoin. but of course, bitcoin momentum will be better when the pump comes on the market. I have both highly recommended, but if you choose one you must look at the capital you have. because bitcoin ownership certainly requires a large amount of capital.

Based on my experienced its better to split your investment into 3 50% for bitcoin and two for good altcoin why? Because we cannotexpect what will happen to bitcoin if you put all your money to one investment think before you do this action but on the other hand if you believe on bitcoin potential then go for btc.

I think you should be able to see market conditions for now. I'm more inclined to bitcoin because there might be good news from bitcoin that can make bitcoin prices rise and trading on bitcoin safer than trading on altcoin which has a high risk, even though like that you can get a lot of profit on altcoin when the price goes up.

I wouldn't use word "smarter" but "safer" because each people know which coin that might be profitable for them either it is altcoin or bitcoin. But maybe a lot of people already knwo if make investment in bitcoin have risk less than altcoin because sometimes bitcoin price get pumped too.

I always  invest in split types because it will be the safest for our investment in crypto market as per my knowledge if you invested in single coin sometimes it goes wrong so you can invest 50% in bitcoin and 50% in any other Altcoins. You must select good performing altcoins in crypto market and hold until reach your target.

Putting all your money in cryptocurrenies is dumb since all could be obsolete and never used. They are very risky investments with high profits. I would believe everyone knows that putting all your money in very risky investment was a no go 1000 years ago and will be a no go 1000 years from now.

No matter what we will choose from for me it depends on our strategies, how we are going to maximize it, are we going to hold 5 years? or doing day trading which you have a capacity to earn daily depending on our goal and how much eagerness we are willing to sacrifice our time to do day trading.

Bitcoin is just far more reliable than any other coins in crypto space, when loses occurs you should feel comfortable because it always find it's way up again just in weeks or months unlike altcoins that can take years, we've seen enough example of how capable bitcoin is so i suggest you hold on to bitcoin

If you do not have experience in choosing altcoins to hold, then it is best to invest 100% of the money in bitcoin. In theory, you shouldn't invest all your money in a project, but this is an exception for bitcoin. Altcoins can help you get profit faster than bitcoin but it also makes you lose faster if you choose to be a useless shitcoin and scam.

The price of the coin fluctuates so it cannot be ascertained that the price will be right on target, but if you invest in bitcoin then I am sure it will minimize your risk because the price of bitcoin tends to rise as it is today, but I do not recommend having to all invest in bitcoin because it will be fatal and the rest of investing in the world is just so you if you experience a loss in bitcoin then you will not lose all your funds because there are reserves.

I think that investing only in bitcoins is a very good strategy for those people who have a lot of money. Those people who want to be closely connected with the cryptocurrency market and consider it as the main source of money income, need to invest in different projects. different projects will help us to earn more BTC

It is not bad if you invest all your money in bitcoin because bitcoin is a potential coin. If you like to invest other altcoins why don't you split your money, half for bitcoin and other half for altcoins that you like.

And it cannot be denied that the majority of crypto users own or use bitcoin to invest or trade even though they know the risks, and in my opinion no one has no risk associated with investing or trading and all have risks.
and choosing bitcoin over altcoin is the right choice because bitcoin always gives good and profitable results and they know that, and it would be better to have both.

If it works for you, then who we are to say it is wrong. Everyone have a different appetite for risk. You feel safer investing in Bitcoin then just invest in Bitcoin. I on the other hand, still believe that there are some altcoins worth investing in. So I allocate some funds for altcoins.

You can see the charts and analyze that there is no meaning in investing your bitcoins into alts. Its best to have all your investments or at least 90% of it in Bitcoin right now.. Bitcoin is on the move right now and it will make the alts bleed more and more.

If you want to be safe, it's best not to bet the entire amount on any altcoin. Please diversify your investment and divide as appropriate as possible, choose a lot of good altcoins in this market and it is better to choose the top altcoins in coinmarketcap to invest. These are the best altcoins and are operating in this market, do not look for cheap altcoins because in the future most of them will die and you will lose money.

Bitcoin is indeed the safe investment when it comes to crypto but there are certain altcoins which could provide a better return on investment if things go well. I would suggest to go with bitcoin alone if you don't want to experiment but investing in potential altcoins will be worth experimenting because we have seen lot of altcoins yielding good profit.

Yes, it is a smart move.

Although, I'm aware the safety net of investing to bitcoin only technique but time changes and my crave for other coins is also waking me. I think you can invest to other coins if you think that the amount of bitcoin in your portfolio is decent enough.

Putting all money in one coin is not a wise decision, but if that coin is the Bitcoin, then it is the smartest decision! Though you may split your money and buy some ETH, BCH, NEO, ONT too, these coins have high potential to increase in price.

investing in bitcoin is a good choice. especially if you do a long-term investment. you won't lost all of your money from your loss. investing in altcoins have a big risk, maybe the coins will be scam coin or the coins have no volume in the future. the price change of altcoins will change quickly, so if you want to invest in altcoins you should do short-term trading. but you must always monitor your coins price every single minutes to get a good momentum to sell it.

Why not both?
Don't put all the eggs in only one basket, this is old but remains good and true
You can have a large portion of your portfolio in BTC and some percentage in altcoins, but it's important to choose good coins

I have this structure above, more BTC and some altcoins

It is still smart decision to stay with Bitcoin until next halving of Bitcoin. Altcoins season will come after Bitcoin bullrun. Altcoins has risk but only for huge success altcoins is good. Easy math! If Bitcoin hit 100k that only 10 times higher than this time

If we have all the capital invested in bitcoin this is the safest way to invest in cryptocurrency. Indeed, nothing wrong by choosing the path.
But for me the way is less than the maximum, because the best way is to invest not only in bitcoin. But investing in altcoins too. Because
as we know there are some altcoins that can provide greater profits than bitcoin. But investing in altcoins is indeed very risky, we must be
careful choosing altcoins that have good potential.

It's a 👍 for a long time investment. Because bitcoin is much more potential than other coins this year and the safest investment in crypto. Even the growth of altcoins might be bigger than bitcoin growth in terms of price. But i'm sure investing in bitcoin could be the smartest decision right now.

no. your plan is not stupid and that's good because if you have a lot of money to invest in Bitcoin then it will benefit. the price of Bitcoin can change in the near future and that's it makes it easy for people to get a lot of money from Bitcoin. different from Altcoin because its value depends on a particular season to be able to benefit. stay HODL and wait for the big pump to occur on Bitcoin.

There are some people who are just like you. They're really into bitcoin, and having no interest in altcoin. But there are also other people who already gained a lot of profit from altcoin. Whether you choose bitcoin or altcoin, or maybe both, as long as you've done your research, and make a good entry point and make a target point, you should be okay, at least you will, if the market movements are on a good track.

If you're smarter, then it's better to diversify.

The thing will altcoins is that they are really cheap and you can literally be a bag holder as compare to bitcoin which is expensive for some.

That's why many people really advise to at least diversify your portfolio. Majority on BTC and then the rest will good altcoin.

No one will say it's stupid or not. Because everyone has their own choices and understands the risks. I also thus, save all my assets almost 85% in bitcoin. The rest is only for small trades for altcoin.
the most important thing is continuing what you have planned. And don't forget to provide reserve funds too to take part in trading on current hype coins. Because this also gives you a nice profit.

While I am also bullish on Bitcoin not just in the year 2020 but also beyond, I think it is better not to put your eggs in one basket. Bitcoin is the best but that does not mean that it does not undergo bearish days. And when the bearish days come, more often than not, the altcoins will soar. So try to diversify your portfolio to Bitcoin and a few top altcoins.

That is a smart move, and you are lucky. The final goal of us to trade is to get the profit that is stored in the BTC. And it doesn't hurt if we play with altcoin, but yes if we really why not BTC at all. Whereas all altcoins follow the movements of the btc itself, BTC is the controller. Saving money in altcoin other than BTC is too risky, so if you want to play other than in BTC, you can also choose a few stable coins which are clearly price stability. But it all depends on the choices that have been determined, for me personally, I just look for loopholes to get profit from altcoin and after that I save on btc. Yes, it's the same as you might do.

Bitcoin dominance is pretty high up until now which is 68.3% and by using this comparison investing to bitcoin is better than altcoins but we are still in the first quarter of the year so there are still plenty of happenings that will happen in the following months.

If you like, you can just divide your investment for example you will put 70% of your investment in bitcoin and the remaining 30% will be in altcoins that you believe will still fight in the following months and continue to increase it's price. All will always depend to your decision, putting all your money in btc is not a bad choice but splitting it is also a good choice for me.

Bitcoin is an irreplaceable choice and of course people will choose to hold this coin more. I think this coin is starting to have a big improvement in price recently and you will definitely make a profit if you choose to invest long-term. In fact Bitcoin is stable at $8000 and if this price can be maintained for a long time then surely $10,000 will be just a matter of time.

This is just my own prediction and the market needs to improve more in the near future and I hope all the coins in this market can increase in price.

Bitcoin is still a profitable investment to date and in my portfolio there are only two coins, that's is BTC and ETH. sending all money into Bitcoin was not a stupid decision but it was the right choice. there was a it time to invest in all Altcoin but there were certain seasons that we didn't know when that happened. whereas Bitcoin doesn't have a certain season and that's what makes traders comfortable investing in BTC until now.

Investing in btc is indeed profitable if you can bear waiting because it is ideal for long period hodling. You can notice the progress and difference unlike if you use the short term trading strategy so including btc in our crypto portfolio is a must. But I never lose interest with altcoins we know the situation of alts are struggling for long period already and the future of it is uncertain. I cant say its a bad choice to switch investing to alts but its wise to prioritize holding btc.

I personally prefer bitcoin as a store of value, then use another altcoin as an alternative to making a profit then I exchange it in the form of bitcoin via an exchange.
Because in my opinion it's easier to trade altcoin because the value is still so low that my capital can still reach, rather than having to trade bitcoin I have to sacrifice a lot of capital.

good if you are not a daily trader, btw I also save most of my assets for bitcoin and altcoin which I use only to make a daily profit. actually altcoin is also good for the long term if you put it in the right project, maybe your previous experience is stuck on a fake project?
some altcoin is now also seen to have experienced growth as happened in bitcoin. I think investing in the altcoin top market with high trading volume will be good too, especially if the funds are not so large, the increase will be more visible with altcoin than bitcoin.

Bitcoin is my very important asset when participating in this market because this coin can determine my current profit and all the money I have depends on the growth of this coin. Beside, I also invest in some good altcoins to make more profit but only invest in the top 50 coins because these are the coins that tend to increase with Bitcoin.

Of course, it is not certain what will happen next but I have great faith and will consider investing more if the market is more stable in the near future.

for long-term investment, of course, bitcoin is better. I also have it for my long-term investment. but for altcoin, I mostly use it for short-term trading. with easier costs and faster market movements compared to bitcoin. from there I can get better profits.

what altcoin you invest before ? you need a patience to invest on altcoins  . if you still have your altcoins then better,  just give them another chance  .

your current plan right now is not stupid  .investing in bitcoin has never been  a stupid decision but investing all your money  on it is a different story anymore  .  we all should have only invest a certain percent on bitcoin because bitcoin is not a safe haven for all our money.  .

Putting all my money on bitcoin is more smarter than going for altcoins? I think bitcoin will always surge even if it loses value today, i never think twice about this anymore because in the past if i never switched to altcoin i would have be in big profit today, what do you guys think about my plan? Stupid or 👍
For me personally it is better to focus on investing into bitcoin. But this does not mean that altcoin is bad, but if we look at altcoin prices often follow bitcoin, if the price of bitcoin starts to surge then altcoin prices will also slowly increase. But if I have to choose for now I would prefer to invest into bitcoin like what you said and maybe I only invest into altcoin with a small amount.

actually this is a good choice, don't take big risks on altcoin. but for me of course I will set aside 30% for altcoin, because I also need daily or weekly profits. because bitcoin for me is for the long term.

Many rumors are looking in to that thing. But in the reality its still 50/50 situation we can't or we can say that is good or bad to invest on the same technology, I mean investing on blockchain is good or not. Depending on the situation like bitcoin today, After trump didn't response on the Iran missiles bitcoin immediately dumped.

Bitcoin is a good coin there is no doubt about that but that does not make altcoins to be bad. People have lost money because of bitcoin also and people have made profits from altcoins also, so it all depends. If you have decided to invest in bitcoin, then fine.

As of now, more than 90% of my portfolio is made up of BTC. This strategy worked for me, because during the last few months many of the altcoins crashed heavily. But as of now, I am thinking about increasing my proportion of the forked coins such as BCH and BSV. These two coins are giving good returns as of now. BSV in particular, went up by 40% during the last 24-hours.

I think that is a good plan. because bitcoin is the main cryptocurrency and has always been the benchmark for altcoin. and investing in bitcoin also has a lower risk than altcoin. but in my opinion it would be better if you also have altcoin. of course the top altcoins like binance, ethereum and litecoin. because sometimes altcoin can also provide greater benefits than bitcoin. because the percentage increase in altcoin is greater than bitcoin.

I think that for your portfolio to be successful in the long run, you need a nice balance of both.

You're not going to get far without having alts in your portfolio for the fact that you need some growth assets, and bitcoin, as great as it is, doesn't offer as much volatility exposure to your portfolio compared to the higher risk, higher reward altcoin sector.

Likewise, you want to balance your alt bets with the more stable bitcoin - goes without saying.

I would like to go to bitcoin no matter what. We all know that bitcoin have already prove its ability to rise up so fast after the dump. Plus the fact that bitcoin is the most trusted coin in the cryptocurrency scene so it is impossible to be replaced by some other coins out there. As long as there is someone who believes on bitcoin, it will remain on the top.

With the volatility of $200 and above every hour, it would be foolish to buy alts at this moment. It will be really hard to make any profit even if you get a hyped news like Coinbase accepting a new coin. Hold your investments in Bitcoin.

I will always put my trust in Bitcoin. As for me, despite no matter how many potential altcoins may exist, nothing will beat bitcoin when it comes to long term investment. It has passed all the tests of time and I could see no reason not to trust it. Your decision in buying would still lie on your trust for a certain coin. Always trust your guts.

Many people are convinced that bitcoin will again surge and provide benefits for those who hold it. But I think we also need altcoin because altcoin can sometimes benefit us if we can look for opportunities from several altcoins. And for me personally I would choose to divide the investment I made into bitcoin 70% and altcoin 30%.

It is better because if you make investment in altcoin and you are not really sure with it, you maybe can do something that you are not expected like cut lose when altcoin that you already bought dumped. If you put your money in Bitcoin is smarter long term because the price is going steady up and is much safe than in altcoins.
But if you put your coins in good alt projects, you can gain much much more since an low cap alt can go up even 100x which on Bitcoin is unlikely to happen in let's say 2-3 years.

for me personally, bitcoin is the main crypto that I always choose as a long-term investment. but not enough bitcoin, ETH is also my second choice as a crypto investment, the reason is, if I only save bitcoin, of course I have to have a lot of capital to buy it if I want to have more bitcoin, but I divide 50% -50% by ETH, of course I will get more ETH. it's possible, you used to buy the wrong altcoin or bought when the price was soaring high. but this is the world of cryptocurrency, the risk always surrounds any crypto holder.

No way bitcoin is the most stable coin, it never been stable, it price fluctuates lots of times in short amount of time but yes indeed it is the first choice when it comes to investment because it has proven itself worth your money and high chance of getting a profit so even it price moves a lot and can even go very high and low in short span of time investors still choose to invest with it but i will be a bad idea to invest only to bitcoin because you cannot lessen your loss 'cause you only have bitcoin in your portfolio, just try to pick a worthy altcoin like ETH, XRP to put in your portfolio.

First safety is your money management and stop loss, we know what the purposes is. Second safety is take one altcoin for recover fund if bitcoin in negative condition, the percentage is up to you. It's still profitable to invest in Bitcoin but we have a saying we should not put all our eggs in our basket or a variation on your investment, there are a lot of good altcoins in the market, you can pick up to 5 altcoins that have established itself as the best alternative or additional coins in the market.

Not all of them, but you can diversify %80 in bitcoin and the rest to altcoins. Because investing all money in btc would be to miss other opportunities. Potential altcoins are more likely to make 5x than btc. For example, the king is no longer affected by being listed in the exchange, but for any young altcoin, this is great news and can multiply your money several times.

Bitcoin and altcoin in my opinion are both equally good to invest and maybe based on the experience you have experienced, you have felt failed to invest in altcoin and regret it, but not all altcoin is not worth investing. This is a very good plan in my opinion, but it doesn't stop you from trading altcoins if you don't want to hold for long term. The more reason why it's cool is because we all are expecting Bitcoin uptrend due to halving which is old news. However, you might consider holding some altcoins like ETH, XRP, XLM, etc you can do some research and then decide which few altcoins to hold.

Yeah investing on bitcoin is safe, but I wouldn't recommend you to put all your money on bitcoin. Bitcoin will give you profit in the long run. The profit will be steady but slow. On other hand, alt coins are more volatile. The prices jumps and drops a lot. The risk associated with it is also high. If you can take advantage of this volatility and turn your investment into profit! Just split up your investment money and pour most of them on bitcoin and the rest into altcoins.

I am just wondering what kind of past did you have.  Having your collections be stock on one crypto is by majority not recommended. So, they also prefer to hold bitcoin rather than the altcoin. Holding altcoins is very risky but if it is successfully grown up the profit will triple and possible huge profit will be yours. But the risk was always there that's why to lower risk I invest to bitcoin itself.

You should invest in big alcoins like ETH and BNB, if the altcoin season has arrived you will get a very big profit. investing in bitcoin is a very correct action but you also have to have other options to make a profit, one of which is to invest in altcoin. maybe you have to think again and again on this issue  :)

Putting all my money on bitcoin is more smarter than going for altcoins? I think bitcoin will always surge even if it loses value today, i never think twice about this anymore because in the past if i never switched to altcoin i would have be in big profit today, what do you guys think about my plan? I agree with your plan. I believe it is better to invest in bitcoin than altcoins. Bitcoin is more trusted and profitable crypto coin. Also if you want to invest your some capital in altcoins you can choose ETH, BNB, LTC, EOS.

Looking with situation on market which one dominance and faster for getting much profit, but for one week later I think bitcoin keep profitable assets for investing because always have higher and lower price, many time bitcoin could raise more than 10% and later could down with lower price change under 7%, best time for getting moment with bitcoin trading and investing with short moment.

Also, bitcoin is indeed trusted, but it doesn't mean that altcoins cannot be trusted. There is a lot of popular and trusted altcoins, that includes the altcoins that you have mentioned. BTW, investing in bitcoin is good, but investment should not be put in just one place, should be spread into different investment for your own benefit.

in search of profit it will depend on the momentum that is there, if there is good momentum then we will get faster profits for sure and this applies vice versa too. the most important thing for me when looking for profit is to know the limits to get profit.

2019 has gone, try to research the previous years, which coin did well overall. I researched and found Bitcoin. So, you can't compare between Bitcoin and altcoin investment, you may buy both to make more opportunities for yourselves. But this is just my point of view, don't invest only by hearing someone, try to research and verify first.

There is nothing wrong with your plan because you are indeed right about it is worthy to invest or to put all your money into Bitcoin because it is your own perspective and strategy towards cryptocurrency. But for me, I still value the existence of Altcoins in the market that is why I do invest in both Bitcoin and Altcoins making parting of my budget to have investment on both types of cryptocurrencies. There are lots of valuable cryptocurrencies out there aside from Bitcoin which is under Altcoins that is why I keep on hand getting investment on those. The only challenge is for me to determine and sort out valuable, worthy and potential Altcoins out of the numerous ones that exist in the market. So for me, I must consider having both Bitcoin and Altcoins on my account rather than residing into one because it will be more profitable and beneficial having both for me.

All I could say is that you need to know the appropriate time to buy or sell because at times hodling alone at times can have bad side like how cryptocurrencies prices devalued since 2017.

I get what you are saying, bitcoin does not rise like altcoins in bull market while it those not fall like altcoins in bearish market.

That said, you need to know the appropriate time to convert to dollar than hodling alone. What if the bullish market start so soon probably in April, if bitcoin move up 200% let us expect altcoins to move up 400%. So, at this time, it is better to hodl altcoin so that you can gain from 400% instead of 200% example above.

Hodling bitcoin should be during bearish market as many holders are converting their altcoins to bitcoin at the time, that is what makes the price of bitcoin to fall like altcoin at the time.

So, finally, hodl bitcoin in bear market and if the price fall the more, then you can convert it to dollar asap, you should also hodl altcoins in bullish market.

If you can go for more than 60% and the rest should be inside alts that have real value in terms of usages and good developments.
There's always a big risk when you are going to take alts for longer holdings as the market valuations is hard to predict and once the
huge dumped take place it's really hard to recover your money.

There is nothing wrong with the focus of investing in bitcoin. Because that is also one of the best strategies in my opinion,
because bitcoin is safest choice for investment. But for me it would be nice if you get the maximum profit by investing also
in altcoins. Because we also understand altcoins if the pump rises high enough to be up to 500%. Even so it must be recognized
that investing in altcoins it is very risky. But to be successful we must have the courage to face the risk. Now the decision is in
each person.

60%+ is a wise percentage of the total bitcoins you have in your portfolio. I think it's more than a safe haven for your portfolio if ever the market pushes the price down because bitcoin will always be the less affected if we're not anymore in the bear market.

It's too much to put 60% as the minimum amounts to be putted into the bitcion. 50% will be much better as the 10% can be divided among the promising altcoins. Just always try to invest in the major coin, i meant about the major coins must be getting more amounts rather than medium altcoins.
This is the rule when investing in crypto to minimize the risk that we can get it from the volatile market. I think this strategy has already used so many times by a lot of crypo users.
This strategy is totally working right now.

both of them still have the same potential, it's better to keep thinking of not just concentrating on one coin.

What needs to be calculated is the estimation of your total assets for each price of coins you buy, if you count it without ever doing cutloss, then the income from altcoin will be greater because of the effect of quantity, and better things will also be obtained if you routinely get profit from altcoin trading.

Good decision at the right time, just when Bitcoin is heading for the big time, Bitcoin should occupy a big slice in your portfolio, you can still invest in altcoins but since this is Bitcoin's year, it's highly recommended that Bitcoin get the big slice, it should be 60 to 80% of your portfolio.

The Bitcoin dominance came down from 69% to 68% during the past 48 hours, but this was mostly due to the sharp jump in BCH and BSV exchange rates. BCH is the 4th largest cryptocurrency (in terms of market capitalization), and a few days back it was at the 5th position behind Tether. Similarly, BSV has risen to the 8th position, pushing Binance coin to the 9th spot.

I am not sure whether this spike for BCH/BSV is going to stay or not. If this is a temporary phenomenon, then we should witness the Bitcoin dominance getting back to the previous levels (69%-70%).

I am quite sure you might have invested in some wrong altcoins in the past which did not made you have immense profits. If you would have chosen a correct altcoin then you might have at least doubled your investment by the time. Investing in bitcoins is wise but you need larger amount of funds in order to make extreme profits in smaller intervals.

The price for bitcoins is on the top of each altcoin so if you are investing in smaller amounts than bitcoin would only give you smaller profits no matter how much the price changes. But, imagine you invest in smaller amount coins like XRP, Doge, etc and the price for those coins doubles, you would certainly have huge larger profits as compared to bitcoins. What I want to say here, is investing in bitcoin as well as altcoin can be profitable for you if you choose your altcoin carefully.

Putting all your funds in Bitcoin is simply limiting your options for profitability. The beauty of this industry is your ability to diversify your portfolio and help you reduce the risk which could be suffered if anything goes wrong with one project. I believe that Bitcoin is a good project and won't go down, but the value could be greatly affected by volatility and some altcoin could save the day.

Those who go for bitcoin instead of altcoins don't need to diversify their portfolio because bitcoin is the most reliable digital coin followed by ETH, the best coin to hold is bitcoin and the best coin for trading is altcoins, you can use bitcoin for trading too but i found altcoin to be better
Trading with bitcoin will not give you that good profits.

But, imagine if you are trading with larger amounts like 5+ BTC then even trading bitcoin will give you a lot profits. Price for bitcoin varies by $100 to $500 per day and even if you trade daily with your 5+ bitcoins than you might be able to make extreme profits per day.

Initially you are going to need huge capital for that and even the risk of having loss remains constant as even the price might adversely go down making you unable to sell your coins and wait until the price pumps back. But in case of altcoins, they are traded with smaller prices and it would always give you larger benefits even if you trade with smaller amounts.

It wasn't totally a smarter move. It was just a nice choice yet still a risky one as putting it all on a single cryptocurrency (which is indeed very volatile and can sometimes fell in an instant) is just betting your life onto something because of trust. To be honest, it was a stupid idea. But it depends on you. Many would prefer separating your money and investing to many cryptos even on stockmarket. Or even make ur own business.

Bitcoin shows its performance to recover more than 3x in last year, it was about $ 3,500 to $ 13,000

Still both, that's the old way that is still actual. I always say both, why would be a problem to diversify your investment in couple projects, why to risk with just one? Bitcoin is a must have before everything, anyone can invest in bitcoin or try to earn some, it's the same with all other alts, you can invest or you can try to earn, either way you should have some coins for long term holding. Which alt is good, well you need to have some parameters, if a coin satisfy those parameters invest in it, if not then don't, higher the parameters you have more chances for making profit you have, its how I make my decisions.

When we get some altcoin from participating in several projects or we take part in buying IEO then we will exchange it for BTC when prices are high and there we will continue to collect Bitcoin, therefore it is not wrong if we continue to hold Bitcoin for future savings assets in front of us because with the fall of the price of Bitcoin, I am very confident that prices will continue to remain strong at high levels.

yes it is a very good plan because bitcoin is the most stable coin and has always been everyone's first choice in investing. I also feel guilty about losing a lot of money when investing in some altcoin
Bitcoin is not stable and it has never stable for once, quite comparing it to stable coins like USDC or USDT, bitcoin price fluctuates lots of time but yes its the best and most reliable digital currency till date, you should consider few good altcoins as well when you have enough money cos sometimes they can be way profitable than bitcoin
I think if the investor is wise and he is well aware of market ups and downs then there will be no problem for him. An investor should keep balance and buy 60 percent of bitcoin and invest 40 percent in altcoins but choose well trusted Altcoin like Ethereum or ltc they are good choice and has more potentials to rise in price. Bitcoin should be the first priorities to invest your money and save it.

Depends. There could be a lot of times in which altcoins became more promising for a while than bitcoin. Those times are when alts are creating more impact than bitcoin. That includes hype, more investors are going in that coin market. And also, a great news might give a big lift on its name. That's why there could be times when alts is more important than bitcoin. Remember sometimes alts from below a dime became more big time than btc when it flew towards a dollar. Buy a bag of it then sell at dollars.

In another mean, you suggest investing in the BTC for the new investors. Panic sell will not add anything to the trade management if the trader has no idea how to use the market patterns. In a butterfly or Bart pattern, BTC traders act with the majority of market participants selling at the top and buying at the bottom.

But if you have good experience in trading, you can trade for altcoins.
But if you hold small amount of bitcoin, like a $10-$100. Better you hold another cheap coins like eth, doge, trx, xlm or another top cryptocurrency.

The strategy can work well bit there are also people who prefer doing both. Investing on different cryptocurrencies of course is a high risk and high reward strategy. Furthermore, any type of investment or holding is a game which the core is chance and speculation. Experience is also a great impact on how good you will be in this industry.

If you choose altcoin you will find the profit for short term but as a manager saving in your trading platform if you have Bitcoin as the remaining source of holding you will be able to make the profit easily.
Always handle the trading with the short term profitable coins and with the lower level profits but cycle the trades continuously.

For me personally definitely Both, in my mind their could always be a new good alternative to Bitcoin.
Ethereum and different altcoins have proven that everytime.

But I think you should always hold the main coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum they should be your main portfolio.
And on the side I always look for new coins or invest in coins that already a little established and that I like.

But yes if you want more profit you will have to look for those cheaper Altcoins because for Bitcoin you would need a lot of money to buy 1 Bitcoin.

in my opinion, you make a good decision by putting all your money in bitcoin
because if you put your money in altcoin the risk is higher there is also a chance that you will lose a lot of money
price of an altcoin is sometimes depended on bitcoin but it's hard to know which altcoin will rise when the bitcoin price increase
in bitcoin, there is also an incoming halving so we can expect a price increase
and for altcoin until now there still no reason for the price increase so it's not really a good idea to buy it.

good mind. bitcoin or altcoin are both at risk, but the level of risk is different. some opinions choose to hold bitcoin alone, but others think that putting everything in one shell is quite dangerous. however, an increase in the price of bitcoin will occur, but we don't know whether it will be the highest increase. for example, some time ago we saw that the increase in the price of BCH SV is greater than the price of bitcoin. You just need to choose the assets that you like.

both of them do have risks but if we understand the concepts then we can manage those risks lower. therefore our ability must exist in managing these risks, the goal is that our funds are safe and can also be profitable for investment and experience becomes important, because with the experience that continues to grow will make us more knowledge in it.

For the all time your idea isn't stupid. In bullrun you should buy some altcoins where more profits than Bitcoin. Personally I would like to suggest you to stay in Bitcoin until halving then swap to Ethereum until Ethereum 2.0. Later you can change to altcoins, of course good exchange listed coin.

There can be no definite advice. However, keep in mind. that you don’t need to rely on one coin, no matter how promising it seems. This also applies to bitcoin. Bitcoin will also not always increase in price and then there will be a massive outflow from it. You need to keep your funds in different coins and tokens that are promising for growth. Therefore, altcoins also deserve attention in terms of investment.

This is the right strategy, I love bitcoin but we need to be open to other possibilities, if bitcoin is in the middle of a bear market then it does not make a lot of sense to keep your coins and lose money when you could invest in other markets and make money.

Many think to invest only in altcoins, but if you can you should also invest in stocks or in the forex market that way you will always have the possibility to invest in an asset that is going through a bull market and obtain amazing profits with it.

Again, it depends. You must be having industries you are interested in, so you see main problems on them. Talking about me, I am fond of attending different events, so I often face problems, when buying tickets. Kinda entire process is different depending on provider, resellers are always having large prices and from time to time sell fake tickets. Thus, blockchain must help on the market. The solution I have discovered is GET protocol. Guys are bringing blockchain to ticketing industry, making it much more transparent. And they are already doing great results - from partnering with Klaitn and Oerrock festival to more things being done already

Now I think that I should change to Bitcoin from my all altcoins. Altcoins price was going down whether Bitcoin price is up or down. Before Bitcoin halving we shouldn't switch to altcoins. Put your all money in Bitcoin or Ethereum before two big announcement.

It's not stupid, you actually did the right decision. You have a better chance of making good profit in btc wether it's short or long term holding. We know btc is capable of increasing hundred or thousand of bucks in a short period of time while alts isn't. If you are a short time trader, you could have profited good already while you can't have it if you are in alts. Altcoin isn't that bad but it's just we chose to go in best. It's all about business, money making after all. It's not surprising to support the one we think we can profited the most.

it looks like you will think again after seeing the surge in BSV prices yesterday. in my opinion there will be no problem if you choose the right altcoin for investment, you can choose a large altcoin like ETH and XRP for your investment alternatives.

First, what you have to understand is that every decision you make will have an impact, whether positive or negative, the most important thing is to respect the decision you make so that there is no deep regret. Basically bitcoin and altcoin are equally profitable, depending on your analysis and foresight in positioning yourself in the market, if you regret having bought altcoin and if hold bitcoin will get more profit, the question is whether you can survive to hold bitcoin when the price drops dramatically? it could be that you take it off before going up. So, let's be wiser, dividing investment in bitcoin and altcoin isn't bad either, instead it can be an alternative to avoid big losses.

I think the OP is asking like this because he sees that bitcoin can be an alternative coin for making payments so maybe he considers bitcoin to be altcoin, whereas actually bitcoin is the main coin of all altcoins and the technology used by all cryptocurrency comes from blockchain technology owned by bitcoin, so for OP I think you need to stay calm because bitcoin and its technology are the main role of all cryptocurrency created.

yes you are right op bitcoin is always better than altcoin. I know maybe there is an altcoin that can provide more benefits than bitcoin. but right now it's very difficult to find the right altcoin and I don't have much time to do research. so I also choose and sell all my altcoins for bitcoin. I am sure that in the future bitcoin can provide huge benefits.

No doubt that bitcoin have a higher chance of increasing more than altcoins but if you want to take some risks then why not diversify your portfolio into 70percent bitcoins and 30percent altcoins. Its risky but I know its worth it when your altcoins will increase much more than bitcoin in the long run.

For those high risk trader, altcoins are also better investments because of the potential rewards. I have position in both bitcoin and altcoins but my position in bitcoin is much higher because I recently bought when its price surpass the resistance. One of the altcoins that I have is ETH, it also recently breakout and it is the reason why I bought eth.

For now, in my opinion is the best choice for investing in Bitcoin. We can see the price movement of Bitcoin which still dominates the cryptocurrency market. Altcoin might have a chance but not many altcoins will be able to grow like what happened in 2017.

People who choose altcoins over Bitcoin are usually of 3 types.
Type 1 doesn't know anything about cryptocurrencies and thinks they are all the same. They told him to buy some so he chooses one at random or goes to bitcoin.com and buys BCH thinking it's Bitcoin or SV because Satoshi Faketoshi is promoting it.
Type 2 chooses altcoins because he thinks Bitcoin is too expensive for him so he prefers to get 1 whole shitcoin than 0.01 of Bitcoin.
Type 3 is greedy and thinks alts will pump more than BTC.

Only type 3 I can understand but he wants to play a high risk game with high rewards. It not always works out.

The best decision is putting all money into bitcoin because halving make all the altcoins crash. I believe this time, bitcoin will have a big bullrun and push the dominance to 80% and altcoins project have low value to the community will be crash.

Bitcoin for long term HODL and Altcoins for short term profits. You just can't stick to one option when it's comes to investment perspective.

Stupid. Maybe because you invest in bitcoin you lose money. Investing in altcoins builds up your bitcoin stock and further increases it. So leaving out altcoins will make it hard to gather more bitcoins.

good choice. having bitcoin better than altcoins. look the history, altcoin difficult to reach good price in 2019 it make holders or investors of altcoins dissapointed and after that many people thinking better move to bitcoin than stay hold with altcoins, because when the conditions like that difficult to make profit from altcoins

That will depend entirely on what altcoins you put in that portfolio, if the 30% of the money you invested is in ieos or in icos then you are not going to get too much success because most of those coins are going to crash and disappear in just a few months.

In that case it will be preferable to just invest all your money in bitcoin but if you put some of the best altcoins the market has to offer like ethereum, BNB, monero and others then most likely your performance is going to be better than if you just held bitcoin.

Actually this is the time for halving of bitcoin mining reward for the miners that is why everyone is thinking that the price of bitcoin will increase higher than any altcoin and everyone is investing their money in bitcoin and giving a value to the bitcoin. I am sure that within this period or after the halving people will also like to increase the amount of their bitcoin so they will also start altcoin trade and with this the price of altcoins will also increase.

It doesn't matter if you just realize it, actually I've also experienced the same thing, especially not investing in bitcoin in the past. on the one hand, based on the lack of capital to buy btc, so I can only choose altcoin investments. but over time I do not regret it, because slowly I have redeemed and can buy BTC from the results of the altcoin investment.

Well, that will always be the safest option and action whenever you want to ensure that your investment will sure to get profit because we have already seen too many times that Bitcoin is always making to rise up its price whenever it experience downfall which makes it the most in demand cryptocurrency of all times. But the world of cryptocurrency is too wide to enclose ourselves into just one cryptocurrency. Although Bitcoin is enough because it is secured and you can assure to get profit whenever you invest into it, but there are also lots of potential Altcoins within the market that are worthy for investment. Maybe you can just put even 20%-40% of your total investment into the part of Altcoins and the major percentage for Bitcoin. We must take all the opportunities possible because we are in a vast world of cryptocurrency and Bitcoin is not just the only existing and potential cryptocurrency that is existing so we must grab the opportunity of exploring and investing into it as well.
