You have your private key this means, open your electrum wallet, tick standard wallet next, choose import private key. When opening your wallet in Electrum, it will ask you for the password. There's no username, if that's what you're asking.

Is there any way to use this key to access the wallet? You gave us very limited information on your case.Something you should present clearer:
Encryption key is a very strange term, in case of Electrum, that is a SPV wallet and secured with seeds, mnemonic seeds, more correctly. So, you should give us the first two things:
*: On mobile devices, you only need PIN code (6 numbers), not password. If the encryption key you meant is private key, there are guides for you:
If OP lost both seeds and (passwords - on computers; or PINcode - on mobile devices), his fund will be lost and can not be recovered. Remember that passwords or PINcode is the secondary protection and play their roles to prevent hackers or bad guys get access to your wallet that secured by your seeds. If you disclose your seeds publicly, anyone can get access to your wallet, without needs to know your passwords or your PINcode. And you will ask you password. This password isn't wallet password, this is for your wallet file. Likely you encrypted your file with password during installation. If software can't detect your file then you must look on below,
On Windows: Show hidden files Go to \Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets (or %APPDATA%\Electrum\wallets) On Mac: Open Finder Go to folder (shift+cmd+G) and type ~/.electrum On Linux: Home Folder Go -> Location and type ~/.electrum If in case you forgot your wallet password then no need to worry, you always able to recover your wallet with seed phrase. If you lost both of them then it's gone. Only way to recover bruite force your wallet file. However, I think you already have your seed. So you may follow this instruction. (https://electrum.readthedocs.io/en/latest/faq.html#i-have-forgotten-my-password-what-can-i-do) Even you are using electrum on mobile, still you are able to recover with seed phrase. Please let us your problem more explicitly. Title: Re: Is it possible to access an Electrum wallet by only using its wallet encryption Post by: hatshepsut93 on January 11, 2020, 10:25:26 PM What do you mean by "wallet encryption key"? There's no such thing in Electrum, there is wallet password if you choose to encrypt your wallet, and wallet seed. If you have the password, you need to find the wallet file, otherwise it's useless. You should search everything you can for this file, maybe even try using file recovery tools if you suspect that it might have been deleted recently.
If you control the seed (12 words) then it's simple, just choose an option to restore wallet from seed when creating new wallet, and you will control your coins again. Judging by the OP write his case, I get the feeling that he lost his seed or never made a backup of it, then lost his wallet file and only note his password. If this is true then this will be a difficult case. Well, nothing can be done if he's not online anymore. I'll check my external hard drive to see if the wallet is on there and report back. |
