I think the best way to find right altcoin to invest would be projects which has pure utility. In current market I find exchanges tokens that have lot of utility, that's the reason they have most potential and will be bullish. try to do research on projects and their roadmaps who are creating more utilities for their Tokens. If I go for investment, I would bet on project who has more utility for their token. Also, I would go with Nano, ADA and XPR. They have been heavily hit by the bear market and it's a good time to invest. In my opinion it would not hurt for you to HOLD them

Your lists is good if you can buy enough coins.But keep in mind always try hold btc more than other token.Like If you want to invest 1000$ try to buy bitcoin 400-500$ and buy others altcoins.This is my opinion.   

In my opinion. Bitcoin cash (BCH) is one of worth it to buy in 2020 because this coins always interets to buy. Bitcoin cash follow the bitcoin price so when bitcoin go to up BCH also like that. and exactly this coin has potential in this year, about two years ago when bitcoin halving BCH reach more than $3500

BAT, MCO and DCR could attract a good profit.
BAT with its increasing number of users.
MCO with their upcoming 0-fee trading exchange.
DCR Building a very stable floor over the last 3 weeks.

BNB and LINK already pumped alot over the last months, which would make it hard/risky to gain good ROI, until the whole market itself gets pumped and big investors decide to spread their folio over top coins as those.

I support lists from 1 to 15. But, for 16 and below, I doubt that. however, I will narrow down the possibility of quality tokens. in fact, I think that just choose bitcoin and ethereum for now. however, it all depends on our choices. until now, there is no coin better than bitcoin and ethereum in my opinion.

OP, you need some justification for those choices, really.
Bitcoin yes, it's the biggest coin and any upwards price movements normally start with BTC. As we come out of a dip, it is usually BTC leading the way, so it makes sense to buy now.
ETH too. We have 2.0 coming up, and development and use case are very strong. ETH and BTC are both well-established coins and are top in marketcap on merit.

For the others in your list though, they may be good choices, they may not, but you really need to explain why.

i think I already saw this list somewhere and other articles too, maybe same with the others, why should we invest or buy into these coins/tokens? Any specific reasons? Well, for not so new, for sure we know but how can newbie identify if these are good ones? BTC is surely the number 1. For the list given, I prefer ETH and BNB.

On a contrary, every upwards price movement dont always start with BTC due to the crypto market been fluctuate nature but when halving market is upcoming the trend of the market is decided by BTC market trend.

With concept and the plans by the ETH team which  somehow make crypto communities to see ETH as future of money.

It was made this January. I respect the choice of what OP concerning the top 20 and we all have our top 10, top 20, and so on. I disagree with the other choice of OP and to the coins that I'm not familiar but as I have said, it's his choice and we should respect it.
That's what he was lack of telling us his choice, the reason for choosing it. Most of us do have similarities with our top choices and that's for sure with those coins that you mentioned.

How about TRON and DASH?? It is still a small player in the market but it is a long-term asset for sure. It has a very great potential to grow in the market, according to CMC it is in 13th position right now.

Your top 20 is pretty good, simple of your choice are the top coins on coinmarketcap. The thread isn't new and will never be old even though all the coins on the list are very popular and discussed many times. At all times in 2018, 2019 and now 2020, similar discussions still interest many people.

Out of the 20 names below, I only see the 2 most potential and brightest names right now. It's Link and BNB. The community of both coins is really strong and it can push the price of coins to increase dramatically during the bull run. In January, early 2020, we saw that Link was pushed so hard and their community always believed that Link would be a new symbol in crypto in the coming years. The fomo is still forming very strongly and this is a good time to buy more links. BNB is backed by CZ and we can't deny his talent. Binance exchanges are getting bigger and bigger, and the number of good coins is increasing. supply will be rare and prices will increase sharply when bulls run.

Your list is accurate. These coins are good and potential coins to buy and hold. However, if you must invest in any cryptocurrency, dont forget the golden rules of DYOR. Ensure to always do your own research or homework on any cryptocurrency of your choice before investing in it.

the reason its accurate is because i think he only got this from some coin info sites such as cmc , coingekco  ,etc  . 

just because these coins belongs to the top list that does not mean that we should be picking all of them   .  most of them are still silent anyway except from those exeptional coins like btc , eth and other more popular coins  therfor you right that we still need to do a research if ever we are picking coins that i dont have been mentioned except from btc and eth    .

I am not seeing any big efforts spent for making this list of coins/tokens as most of them are newly hyped coins and definitely its future is still a mystery. I am not ready to agree with other than BTC/ETH/ADA/LTC/BNB. Yes in my opinion, you do not need 20 cryptocurrencies but just these 5 are more than enough. If you want you may add waves, wzx and MTC.

The same time just want to confirm here that these coins are highly recommend for long-term holding. It means they may perform well in 2020 or may in 2021 or 2022. In my experience, it's not good to go with timely hype of markets . Because when new coins will be arriving, those hype will switch over.

Actually I'm unto your selection but I'm kinda bit experimental and goes sometimes with low cap coins since its quite profitable for short term trades, But if people want to do long then much better if they go on top alts but I will take out the ADA on the list since its quite stable and will change that to TRX since this is more good for long trades.

Well some of the cryptos in the list are not good to invest. I stick my favorite cryptos like ethereum, binance coin and bitcoin cash, good for long term investment for me.

from the choice of coin I prefer BNB as the best investment,  BNB is a coin from a large exchanger and not too much capital to buy until now I continue to add my BNB assets, I hope my choice provides a lot of profit

well this looks like a pretty good diversified portfolio to me,  surely i would put more weightage towards bitcoin and ethereum yes i think enjin and verge are pretty good choices as well

clearly what you say with bitcoin and ethereum is pretty good is a truth that cannot be denied until now. they are still the best investment to date, but there is good altcoin. Enjin, Verge, Ledu that you say deserves attention, maybe I'm more pleased with Link, BNB, Xtz to be a very good alternative.

The cryptocurrency choice mentioned in the opening post is very good. Indeed these coins are very good to buy in 2020.
But because I have insufficient capital to buy 20 coins, I only choose 3 coins. These include BTC, ETH and LTC. Because
according to the results of my analysis the three coins of my choice have very good potential compared to other coins.

Im certain for bitcoin and eth because these coins are already existing for years and managed to bounce back after long bearish market.

Well its easy to suggest different coins but op should indicate why its worth to invest for 2020.

We are now in second quarter and most coins are following the bitcoin trend, I think it takes time before we see a bull market again.

I'm also investing in some of the cryptocurrencies on your list OP, but some of it is unfamiliar to me. Although we have different coins in our list, it seems that some of us are sticking with the popular and well-known coins in the market. I only tend to focus on the promising coins that I know can bring me a good profit. But as of now, my priority is to acquire more bitcoin because there's no doubt that bitcoin will be able to go to the moon again, and will result in more income. I don't even see Ripple on the list which I do believe that it has potential in the future, but if I'm going to pick the top 3 on the list, I'll choose Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Binance coin.

Although there's a lot of different lists of top cryptocurrency here, it's still better to come up with our own list and analysis with regards to this.

I want to add one coin from a good project that I think is worth buying in 2020, and is very active on Github,
Waves one of them, Waves entered the TOP project according to Github after Ethereum,
this makes Waves worthy of being a coin worth buying this year my friend

OP can you say some excuses why you are consider that all those coin are deserve to be said as the best coin to invest? You have a lot of portfolio here, do you have them all? Because in my opinion I will choose just one coin if I had a lot money. I will only choose bitcoin as my main investment place because it will be profitable. Moreover with halving event factor, I will not have a lot of thinking to buy it now and store it for several month ahead.

Honestly there is no way we could ever know the top any altcoin that will be good to buy, they change by the day and it depends on when you buy and when you sell.

Is this first of January to first of January? Is this the bottom to peak difference? Is this more long term retirement fund buying? What are we really looking for here? I say there is no best one ever, there are good ones and there are better ones but there is a whole lot horrible ones as well, so there is really no way to know the difference between the good and the better.

Just buy the ones you like, hope that they do alright, and do not sell until it starts to go down or if it doesn't just keep it as long as you do not need money, that way you can watch it grow and grow until old age.

your list is a good one but if you want to invest in the long term those who are in the top 10 are the best. or those who have a non-repetitive project. those who have unique use cases and have not been in the market. most of the projects that are coming out these days are all repetitive ideas.if I would invest for an altcoin i will just invest for eos and ethereum  ;D

The list are good but average good and it not all the top 10 are the best either concern long term investment because no centralized should be invest in for long term due to it been highly manipulated and easy to down trend potential.
Therefore, coin from number one to eight with the exclusion of number are awesome investment.

In order to have new alt season, we need more investors. When a new investor enters in to Crypto market, most of their entry is via Coinbase. I would say, coins listed in Coinbase will see more returns overall. Putting money in to all or some of those coinbase listed coins not only a safe investment, but returns will be high.  

I would stick with BTC, ETH, XRP, LINK,ADA, ZRX, KNC, COSMOS, TEZOS, LTC, DASH, EOS, XLM, BCH, MKR,OMG and REP. + BNB and KCS outside of Coinbase.

Your list is good. It is better to invest in a good project without expecting a quick profit. For this you have to do research and find out good coins. Because there are so many coins in the crypto market that most of them are risky.

So this list that you have made will help newcomers to find good coins. The newbie faces the most problems when it comes to investing. Not all the coins on your list will make a huge profit. So in this case you must invest by checking yourself further.

Your list every coin top always even i expecting btc and eth everytime profits and others worth good place Link, cosmos and tezos. I would like to suggest new members for investing top coins always because less risk with increasing skills about crypto market.

A list of good coins to invest in, but of the many coins you mentioned I only have a portfolio in a few coins such as:

the best possible at the moment are BTC, and ETH on the market. but seeing BNB and LINK is also a good asset after pumping yesterday and eventually it has to decline again. but when the market pump is running again, I am sure, BNB and LINK are potential assets.

This list is always present in the market for top crypto currency but it’s hard to put your money for all of this coins. You should list down and make 5 or 6 cryptocurrency to invest and able to split your money properly. You should put more percentage in BTC and ETH since it’s the best coins to invest and this will give you more secure investment.

The list is the name of the coin that has the potential to increase this year because it is still at a low price and has the chance to rise higher. Selecting 5 or 6 coins to invest will be enough for you, so you don't have to confuse to watch or check the price of each coin. I am sure that one or more of that list will increase in a short time so that you can make a profit, and if you can trade the coin more than one or two times, your profit will be bigger. But still, be careful to trade the coin because there will be a correction for the price, which will lead to a lower price.

What's new about thast list?you have given the Top 20 currency in  various exchange meaning  you have not  made a  deep research ,instead you have just list without any option.
This is the problem if we are only always spoken about investing but the truth is never buying any samount.
i can feel you frustration becsause i did not go that whole instead i have leave some extra amount incase Bear dip so hard.
we knew the market that volatility is always indeed so yeah bitterness sometime takewn over us  when the market continues to  pump.

BTC is most preferred coin for investing by investors, that is why there is high chance to make profit from this investment. But to tell the truth everybody can not invest in the coin case of high price. For that reason people prefer investing in other altcoins, in my mind top altcoins are the best choice for investing. As you above mentioned ETH and LTC have great potential to be the best compared to other cryptocurrencies. Maybe you should look at BNB, l think it is also valuable.

i would say that ETH is the most preferred for 2020, and BTC will be preferred in 2021 due to halving effect, although, this is only my opinion, should not be taken as advice
ETH will have ETH2.0 launch at the end of 2020, or early 2021, and price should follow good news from the project, and BTC cycle has four years, so 2021 is logical choice after 2017

I think buying 3 or 5 assets for a portfolio is very good,
I recommend buying a smart contract project, because 2021 it might be like a Defi project, like what is happening right now
