It's been 11 years since Bitcoin's inception, where it has become an extremely popular cryptocurrency used by people worldwide. Many governments, central banks, and even mainstream businesses and companies have become interested in grasping the benefits provided by Bitcoin's Blockchain technology. As a result, we've seen many positive comments from popular figures like John McAfee, Elon Musk, and even Jack Dorsey talking about Bitcoin. However, only a few seem to use it in their daily lives.

Imagine someone famous within the mainstream world showing him/herself using Bitcoin in a Hollywood movie or even in public. We may be still far from seeing this become a reality as Bitcoin is still not scalable for the world yet (the Lightning Network is under active development). Maybe after micropayments become viral on the LN, we'll be able to see more celebrities using Bitcoin in public? Average people in the mainstream world would surely use Bitcoin for their daily lives if they see someone famous patronizing the cryptocurrency.

Do you think celebrities in the mainstream world are still using Bitcoin for their own benefit? If so, which famous people are deeply into Bitcoin right now? I'd love to see someone like Keanu Reeves, Microsoft's Satya Nadella, or even Apple's Tim Cook using (and patronizing) Bitcoin someday. At such degree, I think Bitcoin would've reached massive adoption within the mainstream world. Thoughts? ???

I am not sure if they are using Bitcoin in their daily life but, I am certain that some of them have invest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

I am aware about Aston Kutcher and Elen have XRP in their pockets. AKON has been very vocal about Bitcoin and so is Twitter's CEO.

I did read some time last year that Bill Cosby has also invested heavily in Bitcoin to safeguard his assets but, doubt it.

Just days ago, the famous rapper Akon has launched his own cryptocurrency coin, called Akoin. This aims to power an entire city that would run on his currency that would be called Akon City, somewhere near 2000-acre land on West Africa. Such feat and initiative might prove the world that cryptocurrency can actually be used as a currency, and not just a speculative asset to play with.

I am not updates with the latest celebrities who are into Bitcoin either using it as a currency or maybe just like many of us can also be holding the coins like an investment. Celebrities can be influencing many people to do or be a part of something they are also into and if we can have many showbiz personalities really endorsing Bitcoin then there is a big possibility that some of their loyal following can do the same thing. However, I do not think that a celebrity will be actively endorsing Bitcoin because they are really not getting anything out of it as they are used to being paid endorsers...we do not have the budget for that. What some celebrities did is just mentioned Bitcoin in their interviews or maybe on Twitter but nothing really so dramatic other than that. Now, having said this, I do not really believe that the fate of Bitcoin or that chance for more adoption is hinging on any celebrity, but they can be of help though. The fate f Bitcoin is on the hands of the people, you, me, your neighbors, your family and friends and just anybody on the street.

in fact Steven Seagal is the celebrity to endorse a cryptocurrency product too, called it bitcoiin B2G, but right now the project turning into scam.

Big people keeps talking about bitcoin while very few are directly associated with the bitcoin usage. In recent days I find Akon to be one of the celebrity who has close connection with bitcoin as well as cryptocurrencies. He has created his own Akoin cryptocurrency, and now with the same he has begun to develop his own city with Akoin as the usable currency. This is quite interesting and the effort to help the people of Africa has now gained more media attention.

Now with the rising demand for bitcoin we can see more popular faces to help in the promotion of bitcoin.

in my country only few celebrity has been opened up to the Public that they are involving in Crypto or holding currency but i have a  feeling that even our politician is engaging here because of their stand towards Cryptocurrencies,it seems that most of them are neutral and not bugging this community just like our Beloved President.

Few days ago I heard in news that the most popular actor in my country, Mr Amitabh Bachchan, he bought some bitcoins worth millions and later it grew and he gave some 20% tax on profit. I was happy that he did it in a country where anti crypto stances are still strong.

TBH one could argue that the whole idea behind Bitcoin is to wake the masses up! Instead of being a braindead sheep following the "trend" Bitcoin demands the average joe to fucking wake up and take control of their lives... Why follow Person X? Do your own research and make the decision on your own for once, trust me it isn't hard. You just need to put a bit of time in but that's the least you can do for the freedom ^{( from inflation, ever going debt, financial crashes and so on )} which Bitcoin offers... I never liked this idea of following a leader be your own fucking leader! Stop taking these celebrities like godhead figures, they are human just like you, they shit like you and eat like you! You don't lack anything ^{( intellectually at least )} which they have more of... smdh!

If they really are using Bitcoin in their daily life then this would be a great thing for this cryptocurrency world because people are always following the footstep what the celebrities do, so but I don't think they are using because at the current context there is a little scope of using Bitcoin, honestly saying that Bitcoin should go a long way to get accepted around the world, I think Bitcoin platform or cryptocurrency world should hire some celebrities for the promotional purpose so that it would work as a rapid speed, only a high profile people could bring mass popularity for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

In my country there are celebrities who announce they invested in bitcoin way back the price is high in 2017. Now they are quite about it,may they are still holding some of it.

My country celebrities still do not know about bitcoin and they look not interested with bitcoin become their invetsment assets at the future and look looking many scam investment online site better investing with bitcoin and altcoin, I think with celebrities promoting bitcoin will increase effect with many people invest their money with bitcoin.

When we see popular person using bitcoin that's only for promotion, in real life they never use it. They already know the bitcoin don't have regulation and protection, that make risk. Famous people stay focus in currency and always switch it into asset ( real estate, property and stock ), only small amount of them saving in cash. If regulation and protection already release I believe they will use it but this time the answer is no. More safety if they avoid using bitcoin because they can involve in illegal transactions.

Philippines is one of those countries who largely support cryptocurrency and I heard one of their celebrity (sports) have created his own cryptocurrency which is called PAC Token. Philippine maybe have legal using bitcoin as digital currency payment and give opportunity for celebrities want to promote bitcoin in television as advertising way, but many country in the world not legal using bitcoin and not available for making bitcoin as advertising with social media television and look hard to get allowed permission from government.

I believe a big part of celebrities are using bitcoin from developed countries. But likely most of them don't want to revealed themselves about bitcoin uses. Every celebrity have earning from different sources and they have to pay a huge amount of TAX if they revealed themselves. And most easy way to save TAX is put your money on bitcoin. So even governments won't trace them. I have heard long time ago, some celebrity from India hold big amount of bitcoin but they don't like to say briefly in public.

In my country even most of celebrities don't know about bitcoin since our local government strictly preventing from use bitcoin. That's why most celebrities and rich people don't have ideas about it. I know that Ashton Kutcher is interested in Bitcoin. Lily Allen confessed that she blindly declined the opportunity to perform a live gig on the virtual world website Second Life for £6 million paid in bitcoin. We really need more celebrities and any other influential people to promote Bitcoin to the public. It will help a lot to recognize bitcoin. They are a great bridge to connect Bitcoin to the public. Thats almost automatic if someone is engaged into cryptocurrency most probably they haave their own btc in their wallet. You cannot engage into something without possessing the most important thing that is related to the subject. Yeah right, I also think that tax is the main reason. Every popular person mentioning the word Bitcoin in a positive manner will definitely have an impact to Bitcoin. Every person who has a community of fans and followers talking about Bitcoin will definitely drive Bitcoin into an increase popularity. What any reason would a celebrity have in participating in cryptocurrency.  Like many of us I think they are in for profit.  Company hires advertisers and known individual to promote their services, so probably that is one reason why known personalities are surfacing now telling their audience that they are using Bitcoin or support cryptocurrency.  Though they have their profit in it, it is very good for crypto community because it will help in accelerating adoption.  Imagine if their fan follow them in using and participating in crypto market activities, that will be a good boost to the industry.

A lot of famous people in my country invest in bitcoin, I don't know if they are interested in blockchian technology but obviously they feel confident in cryptocurrency and invest in it.

Certainly no one can manage or sponsor bitcoin, bitcoin is a decentralized currency and it operates according to the needs of the market.

sometimes there are celebrities who use bitcoin as an investment tool, but I personally have not found many celebrities who use bitcoin openly. maybe if the influencers then the names will not be familiar, but if the world celebrities might not be much known to me.

Usually when celebrities are known to be using something, it's because they are advertising it and they are getting paid to do so - but with Bitcoin there's no company that would do so, and I doubt that even the biggest exchanges would reach out to celebrities in the future. So, we have to hope that some celebrity is a natural fan of Bitcoin and would promote it because they believe in it.

Probably the reason, there are celebrities promoting altcoins though. There is a musician known as Imogen Heap to which I only knew her because a speaker in TED talked about her being involve in blockchain related to music. There is also Ashton Kutcher who promoted XRP in Ellen Show, pretty sure he was paid to do it but he did demonstrate sending XRP worth million$ to Ellen Degeneres foundation.

I do think Manny Paquaio is a celebrity mainstream since he is famous when it comes to the sport boxing. I think its a sign that a great potential or opportunity to make our own crypto coin is possible. But of course those celebrities are just very fortunate to have adequate funds for it. Money matters at its best value. Its all about how you utilize your assets and today bitcoin is one of the options in investments.

Celebrities are financially very stable, and they have done many big investments in multiple trades.  I don’t think so getting profit and adding more into their financial pocket is the only reason why celebrities invest in the crypto market. Bitcoin is an inventing industry so it is attracting them also, some are also doing it for a better cause as Bill Gates invested a huge amount of money in this market being worried about environment and those who are not financially stable.

In my opinion, celebrities who use Bitcoin will be more like they want to create a sensation. So they won't be left behind in the entertainment world.

Other than that, there are a few things that support the fact that celebrities are not interested in the cryptocurrency world (at least for now).

• Cryptocurrency is not a safe investment for people who are not really into it or people who aren't able to put pretty much effort in this field.
• Cryptocurrency is not stable, not recommended for daily transactions.
• One of the reasons for people to look into cryptocurrency is anonymity or privacy. So why would celebrities waste their time to hide their money if paparazzi or media are always exposing their wealth and how much they earn every time.

Celebrities are humans just like us and they are affected in the same way like us. Bitcoin is getting adoption and more and more people are buying it. same way celebrities are jumping into crypto market to have there share from this emerging technology, its really that simple.

I don't see any point in us creating our new cryptocurrency if that's what you mean. Heck, I don't even see a point into talking about who's using bitcoin right now. As long as they support it and see it as a cryptocurrency more than its profitability, then bitcoin's on a good journey. Otherwise we can't really hope for bitcoin to be used more than an asset for people to gain profits with.

I respect AKON so much for what he is trying to achieve. What a visionary. Let him show these shitty shitcoin projects how a real project is born. So glad there is some legitimacy added thanks to people like him.
We need decent coins with real-world value so people stop pouring their money into shitcoin based on nothing but greed and market hype and speculation when the truth is if you hold those tokens or coins you hold nothing but the speculation value. Still makes them worthless coins. I am very excited to see what he has in store for us and the future is looking bright.

Most of the celebrities who use bitcoin don't speak up about it due to the volatility of bitcoin as their endorsement will lead to mass adoption and if market goes down then they will be targeted and moreover they might run into legal trouble with their government depending on the country they live. Crypto and bitcoin is not for everyone it's for geeks and those who choose to have control over their money. I don't think celebrities will ever promote bitcoin but they will continue to invest in it.

The adoption could have  been growing exponentially if there were few celebs hodling it, because probably they're gonna boast their hodlings in whatever show they're included making it like promotion or advertisement to Bitcoin which is quite favorable for everybody here in crypto-space.

I don't know if what you have said is true but the possibility that's going to happen is very close. I don't know if celebrities used bitcoin for their transaction to something but what i do know is that some of them have had their own cryptocurrency to endorse. So i don't think they will endorse bitcoin though and your theory about of that mass adoption will depend on the people.

Coz here in my country there are a lot of personalities and celebrities who uses bitcoin but not inside our country because bitcoin here is not yet legal and approve by the government. Yes, celebrities use bitcoin! Years ago I heard famous Bollywood actor Amitabh Bacchan did convert his money into Bitcoin! Many star sports players use crypto regularly, many were involved in ICOs advisor, ambassador and so on. I saw pewdipie supported a project called Sgame in 2018! So it is not a big deal! I think celebrities who knows about bitcoin does not only promote cryptocurrency just to introduce to the outside community because they are really interested to invest some of their profit to cryptocurrency. It is not impossible that some celebrities will be using Bitcoin now considering that bitcoin is very popular. In fact, in our area I know a celebrity who has been using bitcoin and he open confirmed it and he even accept bitcoin payment in one of his restaurants just to promote bitcoin and to spread word about bitcoin. Celebrities can also be investors but maybe they don’t publicize it because they could be a target of criticism or rumors made by those people who would want to destroy bitcoin.

Eh, maybe I'm giving too much credit to the average person, but I don't think they'd be influenced enough to go out and buy bitcoin based on a celebrity endorsement.  Some people might, of course.  There are people who refuse to get their kids vaccinated because certain celebrities keep spouting ignorant nonsense about junk science, but they don't represent the majority and I doubt any celebrity endorsement of bitcoin would have much of an effect on adoption or price.

I'd still love to see a mainstream movie with bitcoin as a major plot point (or even a good indie flick).  I know there are some foreign films that at least mention it, but thus far there haven't been any big Hollywood productions that involve bitcoin in the storyline.  I think something like that would have more influence than a celebrity testifying to how great bitcoin is and what it can be used for.

This is the first time i am hearing that Indian celebrities are holding bitcoin and promoting it are you sure they were promoting bitcoin or some token projects as they will do anything for money as advertisement ;). Some celebrities that are wealthy are investing into BTC right now. But there are others that don't know what Bitcoin is or how it works. People usually follow celebrities as they're famous figures within the mainstream world. If they see someone recognized within the mainstream world using Bitcoin, they'll do the same.

The main issue with Bitcoin's adoption worldwide is the price volatility and slow transaction settlement. If Bitcoin would've improved its blockchain performance in the first place, fees would've been low while transactions would've settled in a short amount of time.
