Title: Which coins are you staking?
Post by: vcoins4life on January 19, 2020, 08:21:32 PM
So, I'm just curious what coins people here are staking.

Personally, I'm staking V Systems and Cosmos.

Why V Systems?

Well, when you stake V Systems you get the native token, VSYS and you also get the token of the first project to launch in their ecosystem, IPX.  They call this Staking 2.0 and they're going to roll it out across a number of different projects.  I'm pretty excited about getting a piece of every partner project.

Enough about me though!  What are you staking? Why?

I don't have any staking coin.

But so far, I think the most staked coin is with Tezos lately. The previous announcements that it took which was being supported by the exchanges made a huge positive impact.

I have a plan to stake ATOM coun in the near future, right now I am on Energi coin. I got some good money from Energi airdrop and I chose to stack it! You will be surprised that their rewards are higher than ATOM, DASH, MONERO and other coins. When I have enough money I will go to Cosmos staking!

Im personally not staking anything right now, all the current coins are too gamed out by whales and scammers  : /
And any projects that are 1/2 dece seem to have wicked long ROIs, i.e Zcoin
Im just stacking ETH for its PoS, they have put enough time and development into it i feel it will be a somewhat safe long term investment

I chose to be in save zone first because I had spent a lot of problem costs at the hospital yesterday sorry for deviating ,I not plan to buy any coin if there are references other than vsys maybe I will consider because honestly I'm not interested in the fall vsys prices ,growth of crypto market prices is heading for a bright spot but vsys looks grim

Still waiting for the Ethereum 2.0 to stake it.  ;D

Although I have some tokens before with a stand alone application to stake but it is just for a little time.
I think that was worth 50 sats before and I jut got 10k of the tokens.
Forgot the name of the token.
It was gone when I format my computer because of viruses. I don't know now how much it's worth. It had a bitcoin word in its name.

Not staking right now but I have also heard of Cosmos being one of the few coins worth staking. Right now, I am seriously considering ETH when its PoS is already implemented. It is relatively expensive though but I will definitely try gathering enough savings to be able to reach the minimum 32 ETH.

Personally, I am not staking on coins that are currently in circulation like OP mentioned or others. But I want to try staking privacy coin like Stegos which appeared recently.
Somehow I am very interested in them. Especially with the snowball method. It makes payment and data transactions in Stegos are unlinkable, untraceable, and completely confidential.

1 Tezos
This coin has a very good ecosystem and development progress.

2 Cosmos
You know the reason for this one

FYI, i just try to do another way just try to run dash masternode because it's much more better for me personally rather than betting more on the POS coin. I just pick those coins to be my staking coin based on the liquidity and popularity among the crypto users. Liquidity should be the main consideration as it's really needed by the stakers when they are getting their reward and they do know where is the correct place to sell their money.

I will not be able to give the answer you expect in this regard. Because staking is suitable for people who actually have another job but want to earn extra income. Or you have additional funds for it. But my opinion is different. Even if I have extra money, I would evaluate it in trade. If you hold btc, make sure you will earn more than it anually.

None so far but I'm thinking to stake Cosmos if I have enough fund to spare. But I'm getting ready for eth PoS blockchain which more people are looking forward too. 32 coins for being a validator is worth a penny but I'm currently thinking to collect  those coins until i achieve 32eth. Different coins and tokens have good staking profits but for now we must check which is which is the most stable one.

I am staking my coins at stake.com and btcpop.po, but I don't expect to make a big profit from the staking. Besides that, the coin that I stake is not too high in price, so I don't mind to stake for a long time. But I have a dream to stake dash because I see that the profit is big than the other coins, but I don't know when I can start to stake dash coin. I heard about staking cosmos coin, but I don't search for more information, and if I can do a search for a while about the cosmos, perhaps, I will stake cosmos coin and see how much I can make the profit from that coin.

Is staking in stake.com and btcpop.po safe enough? I haven't tried staking any coin and I have a lot of questions regarding safety and profitability. If we stake on the said sites, do we have keys or seeds or anything that makes the coins still ours and within our access in case anything happens to those sites? One last question, are the returns worth it? Compared to the minimum required amount of coins, for example, 32 in ETH, is the profit worth it? Thank you.

I never stake any coin yet, I just trade, hunt and hold for good return but staking is good opportunity and Atom is good option for staking as it is a trusted and promising project.

OP is not exactly asking an idea from this community but trying to advertise where has has invested or where he is affiliated, that is not a good this in such a open discussion (otherwise the subject-line of this topic should be changed accordingly).

1. People who are deliberately looking for staking rewards, I have few suggestions:
Try reddcoin and clamcoin. Both are long living and providing good returns to its investors. Reddcoin once traded above 200 satoshi and now trading below dogecoin's price levels. So, this could be a nice time to get into them.

2. Try freebitco.in's annually 4% interest gaining option. It is daily compound interest calculating method based.

(Please do anything after your own due diligence and at your own responsibility.)

After I made a search for coin staking and found a coin staking in Binance and there were several coins for Staking. https://www.binance.com/en/staking/products
But I myself have not been staking any coins and I just prefer to hold and trade on the exchange so that is what I often do.

for the moment I am just staking TRX in Atomic Wallet. the reason is, because I keep TRX in the wallet to be held and there is a staking feature so I try to use it.
I saw in the atomic wallet that actually there was also Cosmos and Tezos, maybe someday I would try staking on that coin too.

I,m staking Netbox Coin (NBX), which is a new browser, and you can earn and also stake you're earning NBX; you can check in coinmarketcap that is listed in exchanges; also you can join and earn by browser same like Brave Browser. The staking of NBX is secure, and no need to download a desktop wallet you can stake in the Netbox browser.

it seems like when the crypto market is growing right now, I have to research whether Altcoin is safe or not, I might try to test POS on ETH if they really release it this year ETH 2.0, because I still have savings to buy ETH and run POS staking for long term investment

I also think that COSMOS(ATOM) is a very promising project. I follow their work and they are doing a lot. I even met at the conference with several representatives of this project and they told me a lot of interesting things. I think that this project can bring a very good profit in the future. Since November 2019, it has already grown very much and I think that if you want to buy it for a long time, you can wait for a little correction and then buy. about $ 4.

I have sold my last staking coins way back year ago so I am not currently staking any.  If I can have a fund to buy another staking coins probably I'll go with ETH, with its new feature of staking, it is now worth to hold it for a very long time.  Aside from that probably I will also look at the coinmarketcap and check any staking coins worthy to hold and stake.

I am also planning to freeze or stake my 32 ethereum for long term so I can get a source of passive income. Using them as a capital in trading is a good idea but the fact that you do not need to work or waste any of your time to get some return is priceless. I still have a separate funds for my trading journey so I don't mind freezing a 32 ethereum.

Currently I do not staking coin any money. I don't like staking coins, that's just the way the development team attracts investors.
I had intended to buy and bet on coinhe coins in the past, but since the coinhe exchange cheated on cryptocurrency hunters, I decided never to trust them.
In the future if one of the ten biggest coins the market can staking maybe I'll try a bit.

I sold all altcoins in the last few months, and currently I'm just focusing on investing in Bitcoin and it helped me to make a lot of profits in January 2020. I have no plan to buy altcoins during the period. This segment is too dangerous to buy, altcoin prices may collapse further if Bitcoin continues to rise in the near future. I would buy altcoin if BTC broke ATH and then I would buy it at a cheaper price than currently

Not everyone can trade. Staking probably is suitable for those who want to play long-term game. If I had that much ETH I'd stake it!

Everyone is waiting for the release of Ethereum 2.0 and I do too, in my opinion if this consensus is released it will be the king of coin staking. for now I am only staking Netbox coins (NBX) because prices tend to be still cheap now. for other coins I am lazy to try it and it's already expensive. and I want to introduce a new coin staking namely Stegos (STG) privacy coins, I also plan to staking these STG coins. and tomorrow can be traded on the Global Bithumb exchange.

If i had the money i would stake my coins to dash or tezos, since they have the most marketcap out of all staking coins out there, if a bullrun happens they will have the most gain, but staking either of the coin is pretty costly but i guess the volume makes it up for its cost. i guess your better of trading if you know how to trade.

This early January did have good news where we see the price of bitcoin rising and indeed for the time being it is better to invest in bitcoin than in altcoin, but this does not mean that altcoin cannot benefit us later. For me personally when the price of bitcoin rises and will continue to rise slowly the price of altcoin will follow it and provide many benefits for us all.

What has been doing by NPXS was not even staking but the team is airdropped the tokens to the holders as the team was holding so many pre-mined coin. I'm not also willing to call what did by minex as staking caused by it was offering the interest from the minex bank that totally doesn't make sense.
When you are choosing crap coin to get passive income and that will bring you into the big risk. When you are choosing major coin to stake and that gives you less risk.

ETH and BTC are the two cryptocurrencies I am investing in, in the past few weeks it has helped me get more than 25% of profits and surely profits will continue to increase in the future. 2020 is a special year for ETH and BTC because this year we will be seeing ETH 2.0 and Bitcoin halving updates, surely it will create a big bang for the market.

Yap, but I think they are not PoS since these two cryptocurrencies are PoW.

Anyway, I believe also that they could carried out other coins when they got the updates. Probably, many traders are looking forward to see what will be the next step for the market. Will it goes up or down?

In terms of staking, there are coins that I staked last year. Each them failed to gain coins in my wallet because most of them are scam and shitcoins I bought from ICOs.

If you manage to bought lots of ETH the last time it fell down below $100 it might be possible to continue holding it when the staking features start, though there's a lots of different opinions regarding to this and different types of investors who are waiting for this function to be available.
I was among those who bought some ETH when the market fell first. I wasn't sure I'd get better, but now I see the market is in good condition and I've made a fortune. some I still hold to prepare for the renewal that will be done ethereum.

most of them are similar to scams, interests or profits from investments that are invested are required to do the task to get it. and sometimes tokens are not yet registered, and I'm a little doubtful about that. not pessimistic, but I prefer to invest in bitcoin or etherum which can clearly be seen in the market and without doing the task, just hold it until the price goes up.

Tezos is one of the good projects in 2019, investing in this project is definitely a right choice. I also invest in Tezos and hope that in 2020 its price can go up to at least 3 $, in addition I also hold some ETH to wait for ETH 2.0. So far its price has increased a bit compared to when I started buying, all is just the beginning, in 2020 the altcoin market will explode with bitcoin and will help many people make a profit when they start buying now or before.

I do not do the staking at this time, but I can give a little info, you can do stake in kucoin which gives a return, although not much, but the price of kucoin is relatively stable.
or you can try lending in the market binance with a greater monthly return, and there are various kinds of coins to use.

I am always going for value, this is the component that makes much sense. Basically, there are many different solutions being brought to the market every day, however it is not simple to be able to compare and find truly worthwhile and advanced one. My choice always depends on benefits I personally can get from using the platform. And great example today is GET protocol with their real and applicable ecosystem that brings blockchain onto ticketing industry. What makes much sense here - guys are already partnered with Klaitn, Oerrock festival, being main ticketing partner and more. Have a look, interested to discuss with you guys

I just staking Eos because I play in their platform, the reward I use for stake. Not much but worth specially to reduce fees and recover asset when fail in trading world. This time Eos become my priority and I hope will keep continue until next year, Eos have good progress and worth for staking activity.

Yes, I also agree with you, EOS has a smart platform and is almost the same as the Ethereum platform. but in terms of the EOS platform it's unique to me personally, I can play a number of blokchain-based games and can claim every coin easily on the EOS platform ..

I'm staking BLOCK, which yields a nice yearly return of about 14%. The project itself is very promising, which is the most exciting part though.
They've got first mover advantage of their own DEX: https://blockdx.com/
On top of that they work on a decentralized oracle solution (Read up on XRouter, and XBridge). There is no doubt that this project will do well moving forward, the recent move in price is a good indicator that bulls are watching this one closely.

Its still unsure when the shift to POS will actually happen. I have been collecting BTC in order to buy ETH once the POS will actually be possible for it. And I remember there were people suggesting to join to the pool for those who doesn't have 32 ETH minimum requirement for staking. I wouldn't be buying a lot of ETH but will just want to use the ones I earn.

In your opinion, would ETH touches ATH $1400 when its POS?

When is the ethereum staking? I got a news that it will come up anytime this year.
I also want to recommend Ferrum staking, https://ferrum.network/staking/ New staking is coming up soon and as one of the top promising project it will be a great benefit for any interested individuals. It could have a longer period but will give a higher reward, something close to 100% reward and pool is small. They also provide social mining for regular reward in 2 weeks, a type of staking with social media campaign activities.

I think the projects that allow stake are in a scam. I'm not saying fraud. However, there is a situation. Profiting with Stake is very difficult. Because there is more price loss than dividend income. Prices drop a lot. We take it because it has a stake. Then there are big price drops.

The focus is on developing the Lachesis asynchronous Byzantine Fault Tolerance (“aBFT”) and TxFlow consensus mechanisms.

“aBFT” means that transactions are confirmed as fast as possible as they enter the network, instead of waiting for previous transactions to be confirmed. This significantly speeds up the network.

https://arxiv.org/abs/1908.11810
https://arxiv.org/abs/1907.03655
https://arxiv.org/abs/1810.10360

Instead of centralizing all computing power and all usage on a single decentralized ledger, users of the Fantom ecosystem deploy their own independent distributed ledgers with the consensus at its core, while being able to communicate with one another.

At the moment two mainnets have been deployed:
  • Fantom Opera (smart contract platform - 500 transactions per second) - https://explorer.fantom.network/
  • XAR (DeFi platform using Cosmos SDK with Fantom consensus - 20,000 transactions per second) - https://explorer.xar.network/

The transaction speed on Opera has been limited to 500 TPS because of the Ethereum virtual machine (EVM). In Q3 of 2020 Fantom is expected to have its own virtual machine (FVM) which will drastically improve the transaction speed on Opera.

I am looking out for such coins at the moment but somehow i have not find any coin that attractive to theow in a large part of my investment for staking so i have decided that i will wait for Eth proof of staking algorithm to go live and then i will stake it because eth is the only coin in this category that i can trust fully.

I also need your opinion, XTZ or Waves? who is better?
And waves has 2 coins to start staking, Waves - USDN or Waves - Waves, and for XTZ I don't know yet, what do you think?

it seems like when the crypto market is growing right now, I have to research whether Altcoin is safe or not, I might try to test POS on ETH if they really release it this year ETH 2.0, because I still have savings to buy ETH and run POS staking for long term investment

Are you ready to freeze 32 ETH for stacking? That is quite a huge amount. Maybe you can get more profit while trading with that amount?
why not, I certainly separate the funds to trade and hold, I just need to buy some more because the prices are still cheap at this time, so I can still buy some to touch 32 ETH to be frozen and get revenue from staking POS, I think it can also help prevent dumpers in future ETH prices when many ETH holders are frozen for staking

most of them are similar to scams, interests or profits from investments that are invested are required to do the task to get it. and sometimes tokens are not yet registered, and I'm a little doubtful about that. not pessimistic, but I prefer to invest in bitcoin or etherum which can clearly be seen in the market and without doing the task, just hold it until the price goes up.
There are always been disadvantages in staking coins. It happens because staking needs to stock in a wallet for a period of time. There is no assurance that we will get the exact profits and our capital in wallet.
I don't know the task that you are talking about but I think that if we want to stake our coins, there are rules to be followed.

Not all staking requires the use of cold wallet, nowadays people stake in staking sites that don't require you to have your pc on and running 24/7, although there is a limited option to the coin you can stake in such platform but still gives an advantage over the process you have to go through to stake in your pc, between the rewards are also great.

XTZ I think coins are good for staking. In addition to price movements that look good, staking of these coins is easy to do and we can do staking in the Trust Wallet. Nowadays there are many coins or tokens that offer staking programs, it is possible to avoid falling prices amid market conditions that are still dominated by Bitcoin

IPX is an up and coming project with lots of potentials and it is currently listed only on Bithumb, I don't know about cosmos though. You can see a lot of good coins to stake in Binance, I think Harmony(one), TRX, and there are two others  with staking program in binance right. I don't think exchange name would not matter as it is the project itself will bring all the productions and services it will offer for the community.

Two years back, I used to stake Deep Onion. It was very profitable as well. They had a reward ratio of 10% for the first year and 1% for the second year. So I was in good profit during the first year (until mid-2018). After that the profits declined and I no longer had the patience to stake the coins. And this was the only cryptocurrency staking I ever did during the last 3 years.

Why Cosmos?

I'm staking Cosmos because they've got a network of blockchains going, and by staking Atom tokens you can profit from the interactions between those blockchains.  Of course, IBC (inter-blockchain communication) isn't launched just yet, but it does look like it'll be delivered on time and fully functional.  Excited about this ecosystem.

Enough about me though!  What are you staking? Why?
I'm not staking any coins and I only plan to invest on tezos and hold for a long term till altcoin season return, I don't rely like staking rewards because they are in annual and that annual reward is very low, those kinda rewards you can get daily from trading

Used to stake social send. It's actually a decent coin to profit from with about 50% yearly profit and even more profitable if you can sell at a peak like in November when it pumped 400% in a day. Even if you did not catch that pump it's still worth more today than 3 months ago so if you staked that since October you should have about 50% more in fiat value.

I know about this MZG project. You do the staking in the project and do it in exchange for coinbene. Doesn't the staking have a period to withdraw? When can you withdraw the MZG that you are taking part in? I'm really not interested in that, I've sold all my MZG tokens.

Long back, in 2018 I used to stake Deep Onion. I had participated in their bounty program and received coins worth a few thousand USD. And I earned even more by staking my coins. But that coin had a very unique staking algorithm. The staking rewards got reduced by 90% after one year and after that it was no longer profitable to do the staking. My laptop is quite old and nowadays I can't use it for staking for too long. Earlier, I had also tried my luck with a few of the smaller altcoins, but the rewards were low. Only Deep Onion gave me significant rewards.

Dont misunderstand the connotation of coin staking cause was used to increase coin hodler (inflation) and shouldn't be considered as a scheme much rewards. The last time i checked, the coin which offer the highest stake rewards give 10% while Dash rewards was 6% but coin potential is what to be consider not the stake reward rate which i believe Dash, NRG, KMD and Qtum are 98% good.

None, because the reward you going to get will be so low that you will end up regretting wasting your time the whole time, most Staking coins paid annually and the reward is ridiculous, to make good gains you have to stake coins that worth thousands of dollars minimum

You can't really regret staking because there are coins which are PoW and the miners make money from it, so on the staking ones people make money from the stakes, that is as normal as the miners as well, nobody said you should be making %100 a year from the stake neither, you should make a reasonable amount.

The difference here, at least for people who pick staking coins, is the fact that you will have a small amount of money for just holding, no other coin outside of staking offers that, so its still a possibility that the coin could go up in price AND also you could have more of that coin as well, its really a personal choice for many people because of this. You may not like it, but to say that staking doesn't worth it is a bit weird since all others have zero interest rate.

I was thinking to participate in Ferrum Network stacking programme, since they have closed down social mining campaign (holding tokens is useless, they keep dropping in price, while Ferrum finish all the milestones on roadmap). But all the places in valuable plans are full now. Since this is a stacking 2.0 programme, I've sent to stacking only half of my tokens, while waiting (hoping) for third version of it. Maybe there will offer better plans.

Would you be so kind and tell the forum members about the potential Tron has.

I used to be a Tron holder. Thought after Sun had dinner with Warren Buffett it would push TRX and cryptocurrency price up. Hoped that Buffett could have understood why cryptocurrency is (or could be) the future. But in general, they just had a lunch, chat about crypto and Buffett stayed with same negative (https://www.newsbtc.com/2020/02/17/tron-ceo-failed-to-convince-warren-buffet-on-the-merits-of-bitcoin/) opinion about crypto.

Since then no decent news from Sun.

Honestly I stopped staking after the recent hard dumps happened in altcoin markets. But I'm still holding most of my POS coins and I'm still planning to resume my staking process. But, I have completely disappointed with masternode coins because I faced huge losses due to them. I was thinking like masternode coins will be more beneficial than POS but time proved that I am completely wrong.

I was staking RDD and CLAM coins. Hope they will regain their value so that its hodlers will get their rewards. I read ADA to enter POS algorithm as I am a bag holder of ADA, I am eagerly waiting for staking them. I believe there will be strong bullish rally for altcoins in coming months which will make POS coins bigger like before so that this community will continue what we are familiar with.

a good stake in my opinion because the two altcoins have a good plan for future growth. but for now I am staking my money on BSV and BCD. because for now both of these altcoins are in very good growth in various markets. and I am sure will benefit greatly from its. but we are not able to control the market so we can only hope that we are in the right position and invest in the right altcoin that is able to give us profits.

Agree, with you how far the wallet will be supportive because of each company is providing heir own wallets. Firstly, while using thrid-party wallets we need to check about the security because there are many wallets with the negative feedback.

Why?

a good stake in my opinion because the two altcoins have a good plan for future growth. but for now I am staking my money on BSV and BCD. because for now both of these altcoins are in very good growth in various markets. and I am sure will benefit greatly from its. but we are not able to control the market so we can only hope that we are in the right position and invest in the right altcoin that is able to give us profits.

right, by investing in a clear altcoin, of course, will get more profit, besides that it is safe for our capital. as long as I observe BSV, altcoin seems to be very potential, especially to survive in the top rankings on coin marketcap. therefore it is not surprising that last month there was a significant pump

All my altcoins with POS ( IOST, EOS, Cosmos, DeepOnion, ONE, KAVA ) i am staking on exchanges like Kucoin Binance or Huobi.  Yep i know that it's not safe to keep your funds there but it's mostly about PoS altcoins.

At this moment I am not staking a lot of coins. In this time I was stake a lots of coins but most of them are not good or give very less interest. At this moment I am in SNX staking. SNX is one of those coin which gave me a lot of profit. After that now I am hopeful about one more project called vite. I staked vite and it gave vx. Now I stake both vite and vx(viteX exchange coin). And it's give good amount of ROI. Atleast better than other projects. And now I am studying about NRG staking. I it's good I will go for it.
