Title: Bitcoin: virtual credit card
Post by: InvoKing on January 20, 2020, 11:10:49 AM
Assuming that this is the right place to ask this question:
Is there a Bitcoin virtual debit card that can be used worldwide?
I am aware of this topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1242788.0 which is useful but not anymore updated.
I am not asking about buying credit cards from a member here nor about services like BitPay which are restricted to some countries. Neteller is good but its mastercard virtual card doesn't support bitcoin...
Additionally, many used to be legit services are scammy now...
So any helpful idea? Thanks.

I think there is no service available worldwide like Neteller, Skrill or Paypal. There are some restrictions for all of them, probably because legislation are different.

For EU, there is the Coinbase card or the Wirex card, both physical and VISA.
For US, BitPay is the most common.

There used to be another list, but it's also not maintained well anymore: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DRbTeMCzb4UeXI0YlAzBxMc2u2i0cN_17Ql6eMngK6E/edit#gid=0
Basically in Europe there's Wirex, Coinbase, AdvCash and maybe others too.
In some parts of Asia there's TenX...
Other providers are also releasing or planning.

But your question is confusing. Most of those cards are VISA or Mastercard. So as long as you are a citizen of one of the supported countries, you'll receive the card (in the supported country) and then you can use it worldwide.
However, best is to start mailing/asking the support of those card providers  ;)

Edit: Hmm, the list should have been smaller [VCC only], partly fixed.

The best solution would be to use AdvCash  (https://www.coinsbee.com/en/shop)if you're from the EU, Turkey, Israel or Russia. If you're not, and you don't need a reloadable card, and your purchases never exceed 50-100 EUR then I suggest you check Coinsbee's virtual cards (https://www.coinsbee.com/en/shop).

Alternatively, there is Localcoin (https://localcoin.ca/sell/bitcoin-prepaid-card/). The card is only available for Canadians, but ID verification is not required for the virtual cards.

Why would you need a Bitcoin debit card? If you have Bitcoin, then you can pay someone in any country directly.

You can buy Mastercard balance voucher things inside Bitpay's wallet which I guess is some sort of virtual card but it appears to be in fixed amounts. That's completely separate from their US only debit card. It might depend on what country the wallet senses you're in. I'm in the UK and it lists it as an option.

There's another operation that does them too but I can't remember what it's called.

@InvoKing

Cryptopay has a virtual card too but only for the UK and European citizens https://cryptopay.me/bitcoin-debit-card/ (scroll down the page)
It doesn’t require a KYC verification up to $1,000 (if it's still accurate)

@Perkjeff

Aren't you confusing the virtual card with the physical? As far as I know, both Coinbase and Wirex don't have VCC, they provide physical cards only, and @OP mentioned the VCC.

@Jet Cash 9947]

Perhaps because he needs to pay something or someone not accepting Bitcoin payments, otherwise he wouldn't ask? ^^

I know you're talking about Virtual credit card, but if you're interested in a physical card, wirex is giving free Visa card almost in all countries, I got mine recently this month If you use it on the store it has some cashback features, same with Crypto dot com Visa card but I haven't tried it yet because the cost is quite big for me to obtain that card, I guess it is $250 more or less.

Last time I checked Wirex don't support my country yet for card delivery. Are you sure it's worldwide now?[1]

Btw, I think this thread is should be in Service Discussions.

I have tried one exchange called Simplex. They don't support worldwide but they support maximum counties apart from some countries and the most important thing they have supported the US as well apart from some states of the US. Also, they have support some virtual card and prepaid cards along with MasterCard and visa. They have a very fast and easy service.

I just saw some ads somewhere in social media but I guess he meant almost available in all country, Sorry for that I think it is just for promotion in late 2019 they are giving away 20 nano preloaded on FREE Visa card for first 2000 users but I think it has already ended but they are still giving free visa card without 20 Nano. I hope your country is supported now.

It may be the best choice although people living outside UK/EU could risk their money since they are kind of broking the rules..

I am looking for something like that (although I prefer to be well known to avoid being scammed
 :) ). I will do some research to understand if it is available only for .ph or ww.

Why would you need a Bitcoin debit card? If you have Bitcoin, then you can pay someone in any country directly.
As a buyer i can pay with bitcoin indeed but if the seller doesn't offer it as a payment method then..
Besides, some fifth world countries doesn't support worldwide credit cards purchase nor PayPal nor Neteller nor Skrill.... i mean you can get visa/mastercard but you can buy goods only in this country so in other words you are trapped and the only way to buy something legally is to join a service that provides bitcoin credit cards or cards that can be reloaded with bitcoin.
Why virtual cards? Simply to avoid the harass of waiting and/or blocking the plastic card by customs... and i will use it from time to time so VCC seems the best solution.
Hope i made things clearer  :)
