Monday is the best day for you to buy your bitcoin?  ??? ???

In the graph, we could easily see and conclude that Mondays are the top average return of all days in a week. Also, we could see that Wednesday and Thursday that has average return of -0.09% and -0.23%.

In my opinion, I think for long term investment these days doesn't really matter anymore as long as we do buy low and sell high in the market, but I do believe that this analysis is on point in weekly investment or short term investment.

What are your thoughts about this?

I haven't gone through any charts or the graphs, but during my trading practice I've experienced the starting days of week to have a low price compared to the weekend price. The graph now confirms the statement Monday is good for buying. This can be easily understood by taking the average for the past three or four months performance.

Nah, I don't believe such day time to buy Bitcoin because as long as I am convenient to buy due to various reasons I will buy no matter what day or time it is. There's no definitive day when will the price starts to dump or pump that's why buy at your own risk and that's how you will manage your risk of investment. A simple buy low and sell high will prove it all.

Bitcoin is more volatile during the weekends because the business are closed and volume is less during the holidays. Whales take advantage of this and pump or dump the bitcoins. Also Sunday is the closing of the week and i believe a lot of manipulation is done to close the week as decided by the whales.

Traditionally at the start of the week the retailer traders have more activity while the pros analyse their moves, maybe even trap them to engineer liquidity then drive the price in the direction they are looking for. If at the beginning of the week we have lower prices while at the end of the week we have higher prices it means that the institutional traders are probably bullish, but yet there are many intricacies within the market that are quite complex to fully understand.

Your charts look legit but I wouldn't base any investment decisions based on solely that factor. Remember, three times makes a trend! ;)

if only people knew that buying BTC on mondays makes it more profitable than buying on any other day, i could have done it since day 1.

i took a peak to the article and was surprise the pattern they show starts way back from 2013. I think this started when some forex brokers added BTC on their platform, FOREX market sessions starts on monday and end in friday which i guess most crypto traders learned from forex.

I don't believe in such things, come man maybe it was just a coincidence that the marks had happened always on Monday. For me the best day to buy bitcoin is when you see it on sale and you have the money to buy at your fullest.

This is such a good information, because as far as now I didn't notice it. It could help people to buy in the stating of the weeks and buying by the weekends so they can make at least a little bit profit. I will test it in the next few weeks and I will see if it's still working.

bitcoin price can not prediction it mean we can not focus on price weekly because the next week not sure same. so we have to see market condition than based from price weekly . for me i do not buy bitcoin for now because waiting for the trend, when bitcoin go? up trend or down trend to minimize the risk for me in trading

Well that is true and this comes because weekends are mostly closing days for trades and it's very likely to see the prices of both stocks and cryptocurrencies still experiencing a downward trend. So that's why we still see Monday coming in with cheap prices and once the week begins with news and developments Tuesday either bring in some price increases or further sinking based on what happens on Monday. I think the graph is right!

Maybe this is a coincidence. I think Monday is not a constant day when everyone must buy Bitcoin. The coin is too volatile and the price can make a turn at any time. I trust the actual indicators of the chart more, its better checking the price throughout the day to successfully buy and sell

I agree. Maybe after such manipulations during the weekend, Monday is getting a good day to buy, since the market is exhausted and has not yet had time to recover after a stormy weekend

Maybe this chart is relevant only for FOREX? I don’t think that this is a sustainable trend since if everyone knew that they should buy Bitcoin only on Monday to 100% earn a lot of money on short term investments, the market would be already broken

Vehemently I will disagree with your opinion and chart because, I have been on this market for some couple of years news and haven't experience such as "Monday a good point to buy Bitcoin". Categorically, weekend's like Fridays till Sundays are the very best time to buy Bitcoin. This has been tested and trusted by many buyers and sellers.

Taking into consideration the average of three to four months should not be seen as a best way to analyse a buying period except if is for day traders who always want to be monitoring every buy and sell opportunity. But for long term traders you don't really bother about the said date as the percentage price decline is not really much.

It’s best to watch the current status of Bitcoin on the chart. Then you can understand exactly whether to buy it or not. This is logical. Due to the volatility, I cannot consider any of the days of the week the most suitable, because the price is changeable

Lots of people get paid every friday or last friday of the month make sence more demand end of the week.

That it sounds ridiculous but as you've presented, I hope I could open up my mind and look to have a good start next week. May I still on the doubt cause I'm not usually watching for the day( whatever it is) but I only give focus on the trend. I will also have to give updates once I could prove it... ;D

It's either Monday or Tuesday once the market price seems to be preferable to be, I don't hesitate to buy and take the risk. I've been doing this before and seems it work sometimes, but maybe this tip could help more...

Monday is different because the weekend is different, it probably is worth a buy because there can be some negative pricing initially which develops and on average that could result in a gain on average due to a lowered price when buying on average.      Its tempting to say Friday is a buy because quite often I think some selling ceases until the Monday again, I'm not sure if that idea will show on your chart and I would want to sell into the rise that occurs after before the possible sell orders that can occur on Monday as market open which have been closed.    I think that point of some exchanges closing and others not is like two tides meeting, theres some mix or adjustment between them.

If I remember correctly it was Saturdays and Sunday when bitcoin price goes up.

In forex trading Monday is usually not traders choice of trading being a starting day of the week market trading thus traders take cautions so as to know analyse the direction of the market meanwhile cryptocurrencies trading is 24/7 I wouldn't subcribe to the idea that its only Mondays as revealed by the charting analysis as most appropriate day to buy bitcoin.

We would not know unless we take a look for at least a month? Chart sometimes could be deceiving but we have at least to take a look with ourselves. Besides, if this might be just a coincidence then these coincidences were good as we could take more profit by just buying every monday, and then sell in the following days that will arrive as long as the market gone higher.

Worth reading but still I would prefer to buy and sell based on live market situation as whatever happens in bitcoin remains as history which doesn't often repeat, If we would have had bull run every December and dump every January then I could go by this chart since we cannot guarantee that an identical day in the world of crypto I would suggest to go with instinct and market situation instead of set algorithms.

Maybe you are right as I have observed bitcoin prices are trading high for the week on Sundays during 2016 and 2017. Yes, I had used that peak for paying my partners/affiliates with comparatively less BTC. To buy bitcoins, we need cheaper price levels, it means you are denoting bitcoin prices are testing low on Monday? Let me observe it on my own then I will try to exploit it in possible means for my benefits.

Market directions are decided my sentiment of individual traders like when most people decide the same thing then that will be the trend of markets. I mean due to this discussion people may start selling bitcoins by Friday/Saturday/Sunday so that they may buy cheaper on Monday; who knows?

I think if you stop trying to make 1% more and save 1% on price, you'll be fine. OK great, so if everyone buys only on Monday this year, then wouldn't price stop being so good on Monday? People forget, for price to go up, it needs demand. I think it's safer to just get in as regularly as possible. Let everything else take care of itself.

   This is some fun probably. My salary is on a month basis, after 1th I receive it, and when I take care of everything with part that is left I buy
Bitcoins. I never thought about which day of the week it is!

I already answer it in our local board which for me, there is no exact day for buying bitcoin and just go with the flow like if you see the price is going to down, it's the time to buy, and if you see the price is going up maybe its the time to sell. It's hard to monitor the movement of bitcoin that's why we should be aware all the time and maybe if you see the opportunity to buy, you should grab it and never waste that chances to earn.

This is actually a pretty good catch and many don't know this kind of analysis and observation that you have. But AFAIK, this is only for trading stocks and I thought that it's only for that but little did I know that it's also applicable for bitcoin. according to my analysis the market for 1W usually starts around 7 a.m. time around monday, that's where prices will be set for 1 week, so it's not always good Monday to buy sometimes on monday it can be an uptrend sometimes also down, so not forever Monday is good to buy, I assume Monday is the time where the 1W weekly analysis starts there at 7am, when the charts lead to the downtrend will last several days and vice versa, all traders can start trading on any day.

I also agree with this prediction, usually the price of bitcoin will fluctuate a lot at the weekend and the beginning of the week. But it's not really accurate because it doesn't always happen. Sometimes prices can rise on the first day of the week when the market is bad for the previous few days and vice versa. We can use this opportunity to be able to buy low and sell high in the short term without holding for too long

That's right, I don't believe it either because the price can go down in any days from Monday to Sundays, the chart that we are looking now that shows Mondays is just a coincidence because if it's not then it would be that easy to trade. if playing forex, it's true every Monday it's a good day to buy because the market opens every Monday and closes on Friday.

even though you are trading on forex it should not have an effect on the price of bitcoin because the bitcoin platform with forex is very different, nobody knows when the right time to buy coins because all price movements depend on good news circulating and will have an influence on price movements bitcoin.

There are different theories of the best in buying Bitcoin, there are others say that usually the average bitcoin price lowest on Sunday but the nearest day also is Monday. Probably these days are the cheapest day but it depends on the market situations, you cant rely upon those theories. Even in monthly theories, others believed that bitcoin price will go up in the middle of the month because of high demand and it will down again on the last day end of the month.

Always remember this that always buy the dipping price and never sell, just hold bitcoin a valuable asset. IMO, any time is a perfect time to buy bitcoin as long as you can afford it.

Buying bitcoin on monday or any day is good too but we have to look at technical analysis too I know that bitcoin has a bitcoin movement going forward.
Long-term investment in bitcoin is very good and minimal risk for me because Bitcoin has an increase and halving will be a mainstay for holders to get profits.

I am still doubtful about this. I have also observed that indeed the decline in bitcoin previously also occurred on Monday. But I did not make Monday as a benchmark for buying. if bitcoin goes down a lot then i will buy right away no need to wait for monday. and most likely the decline that occurred on monday was whale manipulation.

If it does not always happen, then it is just coincidence. The market is volatile, meaning, there's no consistency with regards to market behavior and market value of cryptos. But seeing how the market turned green on the past few days, there might still be a hope for a recovery. I would more believe on the 'good' season for investment rather than days for investing into something.

What goings on with monday, what special on Monday to buy and invest with bitcoin because all days in one week are the same day for buying and investing with bitcoin, I think there are not special moment with Monday must buy and invest with bitcoin just checking when bitcoin look want to raise up with higher price without waiting only with Monday.

Although I am not aware that there are certain days that are the best time or the right time to buy bitcoin, but I prefer to pay attention every day on the bitcoin chart to take advantage of opportunities when there is a decline to make a purchase.

Agree, im not telling you to believe the analysis. For sure as always buying low and selling it on the high price in the market is always the best method but since there is analysis I think for a short term investment this could somehow be profitable for traders or maybe it was just a coincidence that a lot of people sell their bitcoin on Monday.

I think Monday is a good start, this is most of the time the day where a lot of people invest their bitcoin and bitcoin increases its average return or value through the week.

Having the same thoughts and similar thing i would tend to say that buying times or days can be applied here on crypto? It isnt that constant but these had been frequently happened on previous year 2019.I dont know if this would happen on this current year (this is just my observation though).

I don't think there is some rule that Monday is the best day for buying Bitcoin. Decline in price on that day is more coincidence than a pattern or rule.
I don't think that buying Bitcoin should be tied on any particular day in the week, the key is to watch the market and follow trends to make the decision when is the most favourable time for buying.

But, I feel like this is an insignificant difference compared to what bitcoin can do. Yes, maybe people going into market in some other market like stocks could have this kind of changes because weekend is not really something they can trade on, they are basically on and off type of market, you can't make trades at midnight (or give orders but can't execute) etc but on crypto you can have trading 7/24 and on weekends as well.

So, maybe there is some changes sure but on that type of small time change you can't make too much money, reality is that bitcoin just moved 20% in the recent weeks right? It also had a 5%+ fall as well? So bitcoin already has huge movements, on a market like this that is super volatile, Monday movements are really insignificant and won't matter.

Mondays had always been the start of the week and what will be left are those full time traders which means there are lesser.

This our best opportunity to have while bitcoin price declines a fewer percentage, and while it dips silently we could accumulate a good sell. But we need to be more careful as of now, because the price might be too quick to go back at $8k range since we aren't certain for what may occur in the next few days of January.

Better to monitor  the market since might it will dump more since  the market is declining but don't expect  for huge fall since I think we will not go deeper for $8k these days and this price stabilizing is a preparation for something good but let see how the demands  comes up since if the price will not dump up to $7k  we can get a high percentage that bitcoins will cross to $10k on upcoming months.

The best time and day to buy bitcoin is when you see bitcoin at your target price. You cant guess what will be the lowest price for bitcoin nor the highest, its just speculation or guess. I will buy bitcoin when it will come to 7000$ and I wont care what day it will be!!!

I agree, I think this is most of the time the since in the market but surely not all the time the statistics could be accurate for sure there are so many things that are going on in the market that could affects this but still, I think it was kind of helpful for the others since they get an idea of what is the best day to invest in bitcoin.

Maybe most of the people sell their bitcoin at the weekends since the market price increases that time and it is a good opportunity to sell their bitcoin making the Monday market price dump that is the price which is the best time to reinvest your money in bitcoin.

I don't fully believe that Monday is a good day to buy bitcoin because I don't think that weekly analysis will always be right. there is no right day or even the right month to be sure to buy at a low price at a certain time because basically the price movement of the bitcoin market cannot be controlled even it is certain when it will go up or down

yes bitcoin movement is not based on a particular day, it moves in terms of market factors that are happening. but it might be a coincidence on Monday the price declined. but the traders usually have a certain day, when the market moves quite crowded on Saturdays and Sundays because most people off work and try to trade.

Forex traders believe that Monday is the best day to buy but i don't think it would be applied in crypto specially in bitcoin because traders would just buy or sell depending on the current price of the market. There's no specific date on when to buy or the best day to buy or sell.

why bother with observing the market? you only need to look at the chart how the market moves every Monday, as far as I see Monday there was a decline on 20th and it is good if we buy at that time because after that the price increased to 8800. but other Mondays normal and even stable movements. When BTC price goes down then we have to take advantage of that and invest immediately that's it keep it simple mate no one can exactly predict what will happen in upcoming days.

With Forex the reason is obvious - the market is closed during weekend and it opens Monday morning. With bitcoin it's different because market is open to trade 24/7. Although there is one explanation why Mondays are the most positive statistically. Because during the weekend you cannot top up your exchange account with fresh fiat so people are mostly selling bitcoin. If they sent deposit of fiat on Thursdays, Friday or they decided to buy more bitcoin during the weekend, the money will most likely arrive on Monday. That is why there is more demand on Monday compared to other days.

I might incorporate this information into my trading strategy so that I will try not to sell during weekend, but I will wait till Monday afternoon when price will be a bit higher most of the weeks.

More than coincidence I think it might be the weekly closing of BTC and gaining more once it is closed. I think the weekends are the best days to buy bitcoin if you study that chart completely because that is when people might be more concentrated on trading and invest more. Personally, I dont feel this might be useful for a trader to invest in any way and just a display of data.

The market has no idea when to go up, when to go down, good news is done, you go and bad news comes, if it goes down, nothing is said right now.  But for those holding for a long time it will be a good thing because the halwing of bitcoin is coming in 2020, so therefore bitcoin is quite good.  But it makes sense to bike at the right time and at the right time.  Sunday or Monday, but remember that even when BTC is in the dump, it is going to give you a very good benefit by going ahead and start bying it little by little.

That's a truely great information, i think monday is the best of all days to trader, in Forex marketplace its a first day to start trading, and im sure some forex trader doing buy bitcoin too in monday, so the volue in monday will be highest than other, or someone want to buy bitcoin in sunday but the bank deposit system already closed, so they waiting untull monday to deposit and buy bitcoin.

I think this statistics make sense when you study the market price you could easily see the movement and a lot of times this could be accurate in a weekly investment.

But I don't this could always be accurate since there is a lot of movement in the market price of bitcoin for sure it is not always a good time to invest, Most of the time in weekly investment this could work but in long term investment this is not going to work since it depends in the dumps and pump in the market for sure it is not a good time to invest in bitcoin when you study the price and see it has the highest price of all time.

I think after the weekend they will be back active in trading on Monday, so people think Monday is when people start trading like most people who start actively working on Monday. but as far as I see this month on Monday does not indicate a good day to buy, even we can see tomorrow on monday whether it will be a good day to buy or not

Nice charts, thanks for sharing. I currently DCA on Tuesdays, mainly to avoid Sunday/Monday end/start of week volatility, but maybe I should be dca-ing on Mondays instead. If anything, looks like Tuesday would be the worst day, if on average Wednesday is the selling day of the week. I'd be interested to see if there is more recent data collated from the past few years, like 2015/2016, as opposed to all data since 2013. Either way, it looks like Mondays is either popular as it's after the weekly close (confirms bullish/bearish bias), or because it's the day that most people dollar cost average. Hard to tell.

Well, it does make a sense because most people rest on weekends and some wanted to spend the weekends out of town with their families and they will be active again on Mondays however, I don't think it is always the case. Well it is evident in the chart the movements on Monday but sometimes Mondays are not a good way to buy bitcoin but maybe i'll have to go through it again and monitor how Mondays performance be like just to be sure.

The fact is that this information is really very interesting, but in my opinion it should be of an informational nature only, so that cryptocurrency users take this information into account, and not as a rule for further actions.

Well, I don't focus on these statistics or graphs to be honest but thanks for this effort OP. Plus, from my own experience, the appropriate opportunities for buying would happen in any weekday. And believe me the  coincidence always occurs  especially in this field, we have seen a lot of surprises.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Though I did not follow the price chart but about one year ago I noticed that every Sunday Bitcoin price starts decreasing and Monday it goes low about 200-500 USD at least, and on Wednesday to Friday Bitcoin's price grows again. Maybe it's because Sunday is a holiday in most of the country, so people cash out crypto money on Sunday and that impact on Bitcoin price on Monday, so, when the price is low, that's the buying time without any doubt.

While interesting that does not really tell us anything useful, just because that has been true that does not mean that you need to change your pattern as a trader or as an investor, it could have been easily found that instead of Monday the best day to buy bitcoin was Sunday, my point is that since the demand is uneven there was bound to be a day in which you could get slightly better results just by chance and as such this is not important at all and you must keep trading as usual and make no adjustment to your strategy.

I think you got this wrong. If the highest return is on a Monday then you'll buy at the highest price on a Monday. You need to buy on a Wednesday, when the price tends to fall...then you'll lock in the best price and stand a better chance of realizing positive investment gains.


Why would people cash out their bitcoin on a Sunday? Why would it matter that Sunday is a day of rest for most people? I'm not following your logic.

I highly doubt that this is just a coincidence that there are many buyers on Monday, I surely bought my Bitcoin in every day I can and had a spare amount of money but I can come out profitable with it, I really think that it is because it is Bitcoin that is why it still becomes profitable, and Monday is sure an elaborate day maybe whales are buying more that is why it tends to have a much more mass than other days of the week, there are no such reports of expect holders, Analysers, and investors that Monday is such a great day in buying Bitcoin but I just think all of it is just coincidence.

With bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies the trend will change in no time. We can't experience the same pattern of market movements every week. Most of the time we can experience the price to increase at the weekends than during the start of the weeks. In forex markets we can see same price movements on the weekends or any such specific days of the week because of the regulation of the stock markets. Also stock markets are not open 24 hours similar to the cryptocurrency markets which makes understanding stock markets a bit easier as compared to the cryptocurrency markets.

This would be the case as OP said in the stock markets as most of the brokers or stock traders might get back to the charts on Monday after their day-off on Sunday which might derive the price on peak but in terms of cryptocurrency we might not see the same repeated patterns each week because cryptocurrencies have no restrictions on the trade. We can almost trade anytime anywhere so weekends might also not affect the price for any of the cryptocurrency.

Most of the people plan vacations or take a break on Saturday and Sunday which makes them spend their time with their family. This would lead to minimum volume on the weekends and hence on Monday when most of the people get back to work, they continue buying coins for short or midterm trading which keeps Monday on the peak of the graphs you mentioned above.

Monday is a working day after 2 days of holidays and many people might find benefits in trading from Saturday to Monday. This might be their interval for short or midterm trading as selling on Saturday when the price dumps and buying back on Monday once the price gets back to normal.

It is easy to assume these things but in reality we really can't talk about when is the best day to buy since there are so many movements in bitcoin that happens to hit on the weird days that we least expect.

Now, if we are talking about a regular week that nothing special happens and the price is always around the same, the best day to buy is certainly either early Saturday or even late Friday (exception could be made for very very early Monday), because in reality people do cash out before going to weekend and spend that money if they want to, or basically want that money on their bank accounts, many banks don't work on weekends so they have to withdraw on Friday at the latest, buying at late Friday or early Saturday means you will get it cheap and selling on Tuesday or Wednesday would mean selling at top. This only works on boring weeks tho.

Not necessary. Monday is the start of the week and you will see some quick buying but that does not mean that the rest of the week is not good for buying. Actually, bitcoin does not depend on any week day and more importantly follow the trends or whales manipulation.

I don't believe that monday is the best day to buy bitcoin because, bitcoin's price could change anytime in the morning or evening. Prediction for when it is more profitable to buy Bitcoin can't be fixed in a specific day. I see no relation between the day it is better to buy Bitcoin and the Bitcoin market itself, we cannot really tell when it is good to buy Bitcoin because, if it is true we are all already rich.

Don't know about the Mondays. The guys who wrote that piece looked at some market data for sure, but until you actually buy bitcoin, you don't know the price you're getting and at what volume. Anyone who's tried to buy other than from an exchange (where there's a bad price anyway) knows this.

Also, their calculations look at 1% or so profits on some days but add in spreads, fees, etc and you're needing to trade more than 2% to turn profits.

Timing is indeed crucial and i agree to the point of that 2% would be needed to cover up some factors that affects profitability.

I dont also believe on Mondays yet i highly believe that each day of the week would be possibly a sweet spot for you to buy Btc.
Well, we do have our own patterns and beliefs on when to buy but this one wont really be that a serious thing.

I'd never track Bitcoin price daily and maybe the reason why I'd never notice that Monday is the best spot to buy Bitcoin. Maybe it can be right or wrong. Because every time I check on the market, I will always look into the price, not the day. And for me, it doesn't matter what day it belongs as long as the market price is low and I am comfortably buying it, I'll make it.

Buy on Wednesday, sell on Monday. Not bad, I understand your opinion with this. But if I were the one to be asked, based on my experiences, these things really are a coincidence. I can tell that the next week, the frequency on the charts will change. I also tried analyzing the charts and searched for the best days to buy low as it is the only thing the really matters. I made minutes, hours, days and even weeks of analysis and experiments so that I could try to profit. I ended up having my assets in a loss.

The only thing I notice that is probably accurate is that the volatility of the Bitcoin is mostly on the weekends. Maybe because people could focus on their monitors on weekends. That's actually thoughtful of you, I never took time to observe that. Normally even in banks, transaction tends to be higher on Monday and Fridays because money made over the weekend are deposited on Monday while those who had made budgets for the week will withdraw to meet up and on Friday people withdraw money to take care of bills over the weekend while some save on Friday to a Avoid accumulating money in hand over the weekend. Now, note- that graph may be a coincidence. Until we ascertain the analysis confirmed.

I do buy whenever the market falls as you get a good price and also another thing people do panic selling which helps as price further falls and this is a sort of opportunity which many big investors await and grab it.  Thus generally if you see later on in some days market may rise back again and you can gain it and can sell some and book profits or if long term investors can hold it and continue buying whenever their is a little dip irrespective whichever day it may be .

These are just superstitions views that the bitcoin price will be better on Monday's. If it were true, would everyone would be buying on Monday's and selling the rest of week.
The thing to note is that every day when the market starts, there is some volatilely  in the market. The same can be experienced when the market closes but this is more for forex trading and bitcoin doesn't follow the same pattern.

I do manual check up and noticed that there is no significant day for the prices that depend solely on date. But time surely will affect this, as some of the traders arent online where some of the traders are active. Imagine if some of those active traders are sleeping on the time you are active you wont see any much difference as volume is stable. I noticed it when I'm using Binance platform. Anyway I got the point why OP introduced this as somehow related to my idea but explained in different way.

indeed no one can provide a guarantee when the right time to buy bitcoin because the price of bitcoin cannot be predicted but to be clearer the very right time to buy bitcoin is when the price of bitcoin falls, you can buy it and after that you can sell bitcoin when the price has risen to become expensive, don't let you overturn because when you buy at high prices it will only make you stuck in bitcoin.

while for an exchange that can be used to buy bitcoin I think you can buy bitcoin at an exchange that has an influence on bitcoin price movements, for bination exchange places I think it's enough but maybe you can try it at another exchange that has a good reputation .

Correct me if i'm wrong but this statistics based on traditional stocks markets event called weekend effects which is usually stocks traders will evaluate their trading profit in friday and they will starting again since monday after weekend but in my view this statistics cannot be implement on cryptocurrency market because unlike stocks market which there is time off on weekend but crypto market always alive world wide for 24/7
