Seems like the locations offered are limited, although Philippines has the most hotspots.

Google free hotspots were mostly installed in most of the Google used countries and cities. So yes it's limited

Seems very interesting initiative in my opinion.
But my question is why they offer it for free.
Google is a company that get data so an exchange of data might be in the name of "free" wifi?

Lol Google will monetize Google Station services thru local advertisers so there must be something to gain back

And what about the security of the public wifi spot?
How am I ensured that this is a safe place to navigate to the web?
