Title: How to edit/delet my Signature
Post by: MR_Roken on January 21, 2020, 12:13:55 PM
Hello.

I have a very old signature that I want to delete.

However it seems impossible to edit my signature.

I did go on Profile -> Forum Profile Information  , but there is no option to edit signature.

Itīs only allowed me to see my signature on Profile Info -> Summary.   However I can not edit it.

What should I do?

Until you get the rank Jr. Member, you can not change your signature. Lot of things has changed in this forum.
Some information you may find helpful here but not sure if it is updated to till date: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0

This is a peculiar case, asides inquiry of your post, brand new and newbie accounts are not allowed to wear signatures and all (jr members, with zero merits) who were on signatures, had it removed and they were demoted back to newbie rank - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030366.msg45810047#msg45810047
I have no idea why your signature has not been removed and why you cannot edit it.

It could be due to the fact that got were using a newbie signature and only jr member ranked members we're affected by the enhanced restrictions

You must be Jr. Member to add and change your signatures. I think you can wear signature when theymos still allowed newbies. But, now newbie no longer wear signature again, a lot things was change in this forum.  Jr. Member required at least 1 merit and 30 activities. When you be Jr. Member you can edit and change your signature

Hello Upgrade00,

Well, as you have described, it seems like a BitcoinTalk bug.

It should not be happening. It should not be happening. I should not have any signature and I am unable to delete it.

How can I forward  and assign properly this issue?

<...>
The reason has been stated above, and is derived from the change that took place here:  Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030366.msg45810047#msg45810047).

You’d need to either:
-   Rank-up to Jr. Member (30 Activity; 1 Merit at least).
-   Purchase a Copper Membership (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote).
-   Ask in Meta (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0) (or move this thread there) in order to see if there is a way for Admins/Mods to clear a signature in cases such as this.

It will remain as an issue if op doesn't receive his first merit so he can have access to edit his signature because admins will not act quickly as intended, as it seems not to be a big deal .
Op has only 7 posts and all of them were posted today. And as he has an unedited signature, i guess he deleted all his post history then came across his signature which he couldn't edit/delete .
This is not a reputation thread but by checking about cobinhood, it shows some doubts about it suddenly shut down in strange conditions. Those links may be helpful for those who want to go further :

Am not accusing op to be affiliated by Cobinhood exit exchange neither accuse Cobinhood to be a confirmed exit scam as i don't have valid proofs , but this looks a little bit shady with op promoting it in his signature then get stuck to remove it after deleting all his post history .

~snip~

No, he also needs to get 23 activity and posts more to be able to rank up to jr.member with one merit that would increase the limit and able to edit the signature code.

If he is in a hurry I think you can be able to edit the signature code if you upgrade the account to copper membership. It is the same as the benefits of member rank(Already suggested above). This is only a good option if you are in a hurry but for now better to stay active and contribute to the forum to receive merit from merit source.

About your doubts about OP I think cobinhood is running a bounty signature campaign managed by janggernaut (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=478204)

Read this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2169745.msg23566101#msg23566101

So it means MR_Roken is one of the campaign participants and not a scammer.

MR_Roken is not in the spreadsheet of Cobinhood bounty signature campaign run early in 2017. Here is the direct link to the spreadsheet as posted by janggernaut : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gpuYFROQWIt88KSCbum1c-f89yl4LasOfCPDVdZpP-o/edit?usp=sharing
I can't find other spreadsheets posted by the BM but the once you mentioned above.
And as he deleted all his post history, we can't confirm he is an exchange entousiast or a team member or just a newbie willing to participate in bounty campaign. This rise the doubts !

When going to Profile -> Forum Profile Information did you see a text box or text field where you can erase the codes of the signature?. If there is no text field then I'm afraid that the solution is no other than they have suggested either buying copper membership or ranking up to jr. member by earning 1 merit and get 21 more activity points which is the requirements for jr. member (30 activity points and 1 merit.) before you'll be able to delete your signature.

Yes, as per the forum rules now after becoming Jr member you can add or edit your signature. Your account was created on Sep 17, 2017, back then even newbie accounts could add a signature. The only thing you can do now increases your activity and gain merits and rank up your profile then you can edit your signature.

With his method of posting (op) it will be really difficult for him to be ranked up. Funny enough that he's not here to contribute or learn from the forum rather he's only here strictly on bounties. His post history ain't helpful

As I see that your account was created way back in September 17, 2017, and you did not remove the signature since the new rules were implemented of newbie signature restrictions. However, i feel this is bug in the system because the signatures should have been removed automatically when the newbie signature restrictions were applied.
