Title: should I buy now?
Post by: Robdwny on January 21, 2020, 12:33:11 PM
I did  buy in bitcoin over a month ago 7k the plan is  to be a long-term hold.  Now I have about 20% more to buy in with, with the prices so high and everything I was going to buy some Altcoins Mainly Ethereum Or more bitcoin.
This Is the hard part of my plan trying to figure out should I just hold onto the cash in my account and see what the prices do?

I had some bitcoins, sold for about 7K thinking the price is still to come down. But it's not slowing down. That's why I bought back with every USD I had on exchange at $8650.
The same thing came to my mind, whether I'm doing a bad trade selling at 7K and buying at that price. But when the price of bitcoin would rise, it would easily move over $10K and it would forfeit my loss and still make a profit.

The halving is in May 2020 so you’re almost guaranteed nice profits at the end of 2021.

You are not going to profit if you are just going to hold on to your cash so with BTC and altcoins, it means profit. Traders had been giving advises on which to invest and if they say invest on the top coins, then invest to the top coins. There are lots of them and the less expensive ones cost very affordable like ADA, Tezos, EOS and TRX.

Well I have been waiting for the price to go to $6k at least, but I think it won't go down that far.

It's too bad that I didn't go in when the price is still cheap, because that time I don't have the funds yet. But last week I suddenly have a good win in a land base casino and I'm thinking to invest it on bitcoin. Sadly the price is too high, at least at this moment. I know your dilemma, but I'm not giving you financial advise because I'm also confused whether I should buy or not.

This is a difficult decision because the price of bitcoin is volatile and we do not know if it will fall or rise. It's really good to think about what is the best timing to buy bitcoin. And I can only advise you to study it well, because this will give you a good profit.

You can only do this if you can analyze the price action technically or fundamentally like a trader. So if you cant do that, then there is no point of doing this.

As someone has posted above that bitcoin halving will happen in 4 months, the price will likely go up in between this waiting time (based on history).

I was going to buy some Altcoins Mainly Ethereum.
It's very risky to buy some altcoins if there will be a bitcoin uptrend because people will tend to sell their altcoins and dump them for bitcoin.

I'm just telling you these informations but the decision is yours.

That is the most difficult question to answer here in this forum.
You will always have the last decision here whatever we might say.

What have you achieved when you last bought bitcoin? You said that was 7k per bitcoin. Did you already withdrew it for profit?
What events does Ethereum have to buy it? Is it really going to the moon because of the staking process or it will go deep underground?

Is it bitcoin which is more worthy for the buy?
Those kind of question will only be answered by you considering we don't see the future.

If you make a long-term investment, don't worry, buy Bitcoin as much as possible as long as you have spare cash. This year surely the price of bitcoin will keep going up because halving will take place in May. You can buy everything from now and sell when halving happens to make a profit, I personally buy bitcoins every month regardless of its current price

What you are doing is right for me to judge it, you are buying Bitcoin right now for the long term that's the right thing.

Honestly, I have the same principles as you experience at the moment, I'm sure Bitcoin has a very good opportunity to invest in right now.

Maybe, I made a mistake or vice versa truth, but I have its own principles for that, hopefully what I do is right someday when Bitcoin has fantastic value.

Depends on your choice if you would plan to accumulate more bitcoin or would consider on putting up some on top altcoins.ETH isnt a bad choice though but buy on your own risk.
Market is unpredictable and profitability will vary on how it moves and you should be prepared for that one because even Bitcoin wont really give out guarantees but somehow
it do have a bright future yet we know on how many years been going. If i were on your foot then accumulation with BTC will be prioritized.

I'm trying not to sell my bitcoin now, because I'm sure after halving the bitcoin price will get higher, so in my opinion the current price can still be said to be quite cheap if there will be a continuous increase even though it is a little slow.
For ethereum there will be a revolution to ethereum 2.0 and this will probably bring change and impact for ethereum itself, I hope the impact will be good. look at the price of ethereum now, it is very good if you buy it.

If you are doing a long-term trading (or investment) you shouldn't care when you should buy Bitcoin, I mean you can buy now and you don't need to feel stupid or anything bad if the price goes down for a while cause people believe Bitcoin price will be increasing in this year.

Profiting out of ethereum and bitcoin is possible all the time. To experience the profit one should buy and hold at least for a short time. If the user has the ability to invest in large volume even very short time holding will get an earning out of the price fluctuation between time. Altcoins too keeps growing along with bitcoin, so it is good to invest on different assets than accumulating on a single asset.

Do you think Bitcoin price will be the same as LTC in 2019? The price will probably collapse soon after halving and it makes a lot of investors disappointed and unprofitable. I am also holding some bitcoins but I will decide to sell them before halving happens, maybe I will have less profit but I will be a lot safer

2 years is a long term. You can try to buy it now, then hold it for a long time, surely it will be a huge profit because bitcoin will increase in the next 2 years.
And the OP must be sure about it because if you are not sure you will definitely sell it halfway.

I like this angle. This is simple and precise and 2021 is a nice time to check the profit accrued to the investment. I see this is a nice time to invest not only in bitcoin but others before halving comes because bitcoin rises , other coins follow too.

Don't jump in the investment river with your everything! If you have enough money for investment, then you may buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, ATOM, NRG to split your investment, as the prices are low enough! I think the crypto coins price will have more dump because of the Chinese new year! So, you may wait for a few days to get coins at a cheaper price or buy it now, the present price also very good for buying to hodl!

I think it is OK to enter the price were the all-time high is still not in sight and that 7k and this price as of now the $8,600 Mark is still OK in my opinion if you are going on a long term hold Because at any given point if you are not sure to sell or buy at the right movement you can surely burn out a profit and in any given point if you the price can sure erupt and make another all-time high because that is what Bitcoin has done and I think this cycle is always repeating you just need a lot of patients.

First of all, you did a great job, purchasing bitcoin and hold them for the long term. Well, if I am in your position, I must be confused too between wanting to purchase more bitcoin or buying the altcoin, I just wanna say that if you are really interested in buying altcoin, make sure that make a research first before you purchase those coins, trading altcoin is too risky especially if you don't have any clue about the coin you will invest.

If you buy now, then your cost average is still lower than the current price since you already have BTC bought at 7K. And since your goal is to HODL for long term investment, then your target price is way more than the current price. So buying now is actually more beneficial than waiting for the price to drop that may or may not come.

You wait few days later and waiting after Chines new year pass more than one week to buy bitcoin or altcoin, I think not good way if you want to invest with bitcoin or buy bitcoin right now because several days later have bigger moment with Chinese new year and bitcoin look have lower price, you must wait more several days later to get enough profit with bitcoin and altcoin investing.

for now better see the market condition because the market look stable and you can not take profit short term, for investment long term still has risk. because still not alerts about bitcoin price go to up or down in the next. so better to save your money in your account than high risk for the right now.
if the market conditions seen good alerts you can buy some coins do you want.

@Robdwny it’s very difficult to answer this question because there’s mixed sentiments in the crypto market, and bitcoin prices have remained fixed at $8600 levels with no clear indication whether prices will shoot up or fall down. However since you’re planning to hold it for the long term you can buy small amounts of bitcoins now, and if it falls down then buy it again this way you’ll have a nice average in the long run. @btc_angela it’s all right to have this dilemma, but as I have suggested above you can always buy small quantities, and buy more if prices drop and then hold it for the long term hope this helps.

Just set a limit of profit when you are going to cut it off. I dont think buying other altcoins is a good idea because I prefer bitcoin holding no matter what happen on the market. Because I believed that someday bitcoin price will go up. That is the hardest part of buying crypto and you should decide in the right action. The perfect timing of buying bitcoin is a good action that we should have. But if not, keep on holding until your profit was there.

MY best advice is to never listen to others. always listen to yourself. What is profitable for one person may not be for another. Investment is suited on individual bases. You cannot compare to others as they are different from you and have a different situation and financial status. Do it for yourself and stop comparing yourself to others around you. This is the best advice. as soon as you start following trends and others you will lose money. Unless you predict what other people are going to do and go with that. Like if you know a coin is going into hype mode and is recently being discussed then it might be worth investing in. Other than that don't pay too much attention to what others are doing.

I can tell you how I'm buying. I never buy when it's going up and always buy when it falls low. Some people say you should jump on the train but for me this isn't the right way to invest. I invest when Bitcoin falls to 40% of ATH or lower and I sell when it goes up to 60% of ATH or higher.

At this point I wouldn't buy but I'm currently stacked so I don't need more BTC. You also have some Bitcoins so keep your money for when it falls. This way you will be ready for both: a big move up and a big move down.

Bitcoin again showed a good price to buy and it is $8554. It has reached $9,000 a few days ago and if you think that it's a cheaper price to buy right now just do it. It is hard if you are letting others decide what to do with your money.

But if since you are just asking about our suggestions, most will say that it's now a time to buy and as usual, any time it is if you're buying bitcoin and you are long.

If you have extra money to invest then you can buy. Another thing, buy with the purpose of long term. Because the risk is lower in long term investments. Even if the market is down for a while. Recovery is done within a time. Currently Bitcoin prices are in a place that is not clear. The price may rise and may fall againI'll buy it here. Because I must think long term hold.

Bitcoin and ETH are the top cryptos in the market, you'll never have to be in doubt nor to regrets investing them. The price isn't really high at this point, it is better to grab this opportunity before it has gone.

Look at the price trend, it keeps moving high slowly but what this it implies is that we are headed for a high price. If we invest/buy it now, we can surely make gains later which I'd think that we don't need this chance passed by or have regrets later.

Everyday is a good day to buy Bitcoins, even when the price of Bitcoin reached $19,000 USD, at that point in time, its still good to buy because after you bought at $19,000 USD there are still people out there who wants to buy at a higher price because of the demand but of course, you cant do that now. Bitcoin is good for long term and short term holding. If I have extra funds, I will set aside a separate amount of Bitcoin that I will hold for a long time and for short term trading.

Majority of the answers will say yes to you if you will ask if you should buy bitcoin now. Always remember that there is a right time to buy bitcoin, you should not just buy because someone's tells you should buy quickly. Timing is important in executing your order. I prefer to you to buy if there is gonna be another breakout but you should also place a stop loss where you can cut your posistion if your expectation did not happen.

It is not good to follow someones advice specially if someones telling us to just buy bitcoin. Most of the opinions are just pure speculation and not came from technical analysis. I only trusting my self because I'm the one who will decide in the last. For those traders who lose in trading because they follow the tips of the others, just blame yourself because the one who gives to you are doesn't have liability in you. That is why we should just rely in our knowledge when we are trading.

If you bought Bitcoin only last time with 80%, then I think it's not a bad idea to invest the other 20% in Etherium.  I think its smart to diversify and there's no guarantee which one of these will have the best performance over the next year.

If it's for a long term hold then I guess it is a good choice to buy some while you can and hold it.
We don't know what would happen in the near future the price could drop down or rise up,
But I believe that in the future there would be more investor so the demand would increase so does the price.

The result of bitcoin halving this coming May 2020 still not have an assurance that we can earn good profit. If ever the result is just like the past result of halving on year 2016 maybe by the end of 2021 we can really expect a new bull market. Since we talking about halving maybe we should wait for it's result but if you really believe that it will pump after the halving maybe this is the best time to buy. Aside from that, to the OP do not only focus in bitcoin because there are many altcoins that will brings you an income that's why you should also invested to them.

Why are we waiting until the end of 2021? Halving will begin this year and prices will certainly go ahead before halving. The time for us to get the most profit is before halving happens, so we should sell Bitcoin in April or May. No need to wait too long because the price could collapse later when halving, like LTC halving in 2019

You can buy bitcoin now if you have some money for your daily needs. Don't spend all your money on investments because you also have to be able to manage your money for daily needs. If you patiently wait until May 2020 when halving then that is also good, because usually there is a short decrease when after halving then prices continue the long bullish trend.

if you can manage it, try doing both, buying bitcoin and holding cash in your account. don't risk all your money into one thing that you still doubt even though it "looks" promising.
right now btc and altcoin prices are suitable to buy, try to buy even a little and wait until next month the crypto market should be very bright because I'm sure bullish will happen.

if you want to use bitcoin for a long term investment I think this is a good time to buy. the current price of bitcoin is $ 8,600. if this year's prediction of bitcoin can reach $ 15,000 by the end of the year then the price of $ 8600 is quite low. and if after buying bitcoin has decreased do not panic if because after the decline bitcoin will definitely pump again. we just need to be patient and stay calm.

If you still believe that Bitcoin gives you more, it is better not to waste this chance. You already have in your mind, you already have options to take. Don't get bothered too much of what negativity you've heard around. You've already been engaged into crypto and you know how it works, there is nothing that might hold you. Be strong and face the challenge.

I believe with bitcoin because I am still holding many altcoin kind in my wallet, I think when bitcoin growing up can give little way for altcoin back again to higher price and many chance to get much profit with altcoin holding although waiting with long term, but I trust when bitcoin growing up altcoin allow with bitcoin price.

Never buy anything you don't know about! If you don't know what you're buying, don't just suggest someone else's hint, just check it out for yourself.

At this moment, positive information is coming in from all sides, we can probably expect price increases, so in theory this is a good time to buy. However, read again what I wrote at the beginning. ;)

I'd like to believe that at this particular stage, we are about to be running with the bulls. Ethereum, for example, is said to be breaking $200 and even predicted to reach as high as $400 soon. Bitcoin is also said to be reaching $14,000. So, I guess this is still a buying season for both Bitcoin and altcoins. Just don't fall for the likes of BSV. There's risk in it.

We have different ideas and perceptions in terms of buying, majority of the people will tell you yabout buying right  because the price is still cheap and they will say that you should do HODL. But in reailty it is not like that, there is always a right time to buy. I will only buy if there is confirmation or trigger to my setups, for example the price breakout then for me it is time to buy. We have different strategise and expertise and you should only buy if there is a trigger with your strategy.

If we have knowledge of trading, we'll know exactly a perfect market position when to buy. The right spot could be hard to identify when you'll just a starter or an average trader. The market price is not really at high to this point, I know a big risk might be waiting for us when we buy this time but a bad idea also to lose this opportunity since we are knowing that there is a possible market surge once halving is done.

but I feel that even though you don't really understand bitcoin, I think it will make a pretty good profit when you sell it at the right time. so far, people who buy bitcoin have already benefited. if you have bitcoin right now, and the price can rise above $ 9k, that's enough to make you profitable. You just need to hold bitcoin for a long time.

Maybe bitcoin above $8,400 its the best time for buying and have been with support level price, you can buy bitcoin right now and wait several weeks again and check how bitcoin price increase to higher price. You can invest now with bitcoin only because have potential on higher price with halving moment to give chance for investor hold their assets.

It is not hard if you have ever planned of it already. The market is dropping now and you can start buying while the others are thinking if it's the good time to buy now. Don't just think of it as a good time to buy but instead of thinking, just do it. When bitcoin has surged to $9,000 then everyone is thinking of buying at $8,500. Then $8500, $8400 and $8300 came. Just like them, you have to start thinking of what certain price you have to start filling up your bag with bitcoin.

Bitcoin is in a such place right now, I can't even begin to comprehend if I should buy or sell. It has always been like that and I get that bitcoin is volatile, but seriously right now we are in a situation so weird that, it could basically do anything. I personally would just keep the bitcoins I have and not buy anymore but also not sell as well. I am not planning on getting any new bitcoins at this stage, just focus on the task at hand which is working to survive and leave all my excess in my bank account for a little longer. If we get another bull run I already have an order for it that will be triggered, if it doesn't go up that way I would be safe at least.

To be honest, I think we are at a decisive point right now. We are close to the upper band of the downwarding channel. If we enter it back again, I would be not surprised to go all the way back down again, which would correlate to a price of $5-6k. Probably the whole crypto world is watching the price movement in the next 48 hours. Fingers crossing for some bounce back up.

Well the chart is our guide to see on what would be the next prediction will came but apparently we shouldn't rely on this since it's really better if we do our very own research but for thinking that we can reach to $6000 by now maybe we are dreaming to see that coming since for sure the lowest price we could reach for these days is at $7,500.

Indeed. By looking in the market I don't ever think that Bitcoin will drop by $6,000 but rather I think it will only played around $7k -$8k hence, if you are going to buy right now would probably be a good time. Since OP is going for a long term trade then I guess he can but anytime he want because there are some speculation that Bitcoin halving would be a good news.

Then, I have to suggest that you have to try reading the chart. You can't just ignore this because you'll realize its importance when dealing with this kind of market volatility. Many traders become successful just of the aide of the chart, candlestick, and a lot of tools they used. Actually, there is no harm to trying, maybe this could help you to become profitable than of your usual strategies.

Bitcoin price just go down today after it breaks its support of $8500, so I guess you need to wait for some time and need the market price to stabilize before getting in.  There might be some panic seller after they saw the price go down so there is a possibility that the price will even go lower in the next days.

Just to get back on the OP topic. He (OP) is trying to have long-term investment (holding). In this case, chart or daily price changes shouldn't be a big matter for him. He shouldn't need to wait the price to go lower, cause the main point is only to take profit by the end of his long-term plan.

Even though, buying at lower price is better cause he can get more Bitcoin, it's just not the main point. He could wait more time but if he doesn't really know when to buy, that would just ruin his long-term plan.

This is the best opportunity to buy while the lower value won't take so long based on what I figured out on the idea I have. I am looking forward to seeing possible price outbreak for the incoming days, and the chart would be a good tool for us to determine the strength index of cryptocurrency market. For this time, lets observed the market behavior and while it's taking more potential spikes than we should grab chances; buy enough btc to fill in your holdings.

I'm seeing analysis like that and yes, it's still a moment of thinking to buy. But it's all up to the folks that wants to buy right now, if they want to and considers this price as a good one means that they'll start buying.
The same speculation everywhere and charts are likely to be like that whenever I scroll on different platforms, I'm no TA expert but there seems to be a consensus with what's about to happen next.

You can buy bitcoin now if you have some money for your daily needs. Don't spend all your money on investments because you also have to be able to manage your money for daily needs.

Nobody needs this kind of advice cause without you suggest so, they will always consider their daily expenses before allocating their money for investment. Well, unless they are crazy and stupid!
Investing your money does not mean to invest all your money but try to do all in the limit. When you have the money you can invest that money. I think now is the best time and we will not have to spend high amount on buying crypto we can easily get at a low price but it will be so high better to buy it now and don’t lose the opportunity later on the price will be high.

Problem is there no one certain line, TA to determine an answer on this question would be an accumulated opinion I think not one thing.     I have the old downtrend at 8000 for example and we found a local bottom today but this relates to January price action and we could need to reach 8000 to find longer term support.

https://i.imgur.com/Cr7ffwE.png

So two day average just overhead is first upside target to measure strength but I would watch the probable resistance at 8500.   I'd like to see the reaction at that level and I believe its a price pivotal in the past.

Be disciplined. If you have a target plans then focus on that. If you planned to buy more and hold Bitcoin then do it :). What can I say is just buy more Bitcoin now that the halving isn't happening yet. Many are expecting that prices will increase when halving is near already as it happened in its last halvings.

This Is the hard part of my plan trying to figure out should I just hold onto the cash in my account and see what the prices do?

Investing your money is far better than saving in real money in crypto, you can get big profits if this is really lucky for you because crypto prices are very fluctuating and can cause ups and downs in prices.
Currently the market is down you can invest it so that it will not miss if the pumping occurs again.

Buying now will likely bring you very large profits in the next 2 years. Do your own research though, nobody here is an oracle.

2 years is a long term. You can try to buy it now, then hold it for a long time, surely it will be a huge profit because bitcoin will increase in the next 2 years.
And the OP must be sure about it because if you are not sure you will definitely sell it halfway.
Bitcoin is indeed worthy of an investment but do note the market volatility, with that being said, expect inconsistent profit given that its market value will not always go up because there are still times of downfall which is unpredictable. If you would aim for longterm investment be sure to ready yourself to be patient at times of backdrops with regards to its market value. But focusing at this moment's market behavior, it is a good sign to invest since it has just started its uprise motion.

It seems Bitcoin is going down due to the Chinese New Year, so you can track and buy bitcoin at $ 7800-8000 if it collapses. That's the best price this year if you can afford it because in the next few weeks the price of BTC will go up and it's likely to surpass $ 10,000 by May.

Since your target is long term hold, you should buy more btc. Holding btc for a long time is proven to be worth it. If you won't use your spare cash, just use it to invest rather keeping it and not growing. I'm not against Ethereum since it's also a good coin and next to btc but if you will compare the profit you will make in long term with btc, it's kinda bigger. When it comes to investment, you should always choose the opportunity where you can make more profit.

If the price is you wanted and you can profit after the event then it is time to buy, but for me I'll wait a little more longer for deepest price and wait for it. everyone is expecting that the price will be higher in the event. holding it for months is worthy and earn profit in the day of halving.

buy and buy as long as you have capital to accumulate because we are getting closer from Halving and adoption so the more we have control is the more chances of being profitable this year.
look at the price mate?stabling at $8k and this is good sign that we are nearing to pump, since you have total mean of holding then don't bother how much the value when the time of buying but what is important is the price when you decide to sell the holdings in future(not unless you only have months to hold?)

The market is correcting right now. It couldn't break the resistance of $9700 and is now pushed back to $8300. There are supports at $8100 with high volume but could break as bulls are dried out. But I think another wave of bull move will take place and $9700 will again be tested soon. If breached we will enter a bullish phase.

Right now investing will not make sense as there is no stability in price. It is still correcting. Wait for the correction to get over.

How come you can prediction with bitcoin price correcting right now and growing up above $9,700? I think is not logic way how to understand with bitcoin back to higher price after many time seeing bitcoin keep down and lower price, with chinese new year moment have make bad reputation for bitcoin going with lower price.

If the price is you wanted and you can profit after the event then it is time to buy, but for me I'll wait a little more longer for deepest price and wait for it. everyone is expecting that the price will be higher in the event. holding it for months is worthy and earn profit in the day of halving.
Sellers should wait to sell because there are high chances to see the price increases and buyers should not wait as later on, they will regret to lose the chance so that's why Better buy now it's best time for it as the price is low and chances to see it policing high is more and more so better those who have money should go and buy bitcoin and store them in wallet until it fully recovers.

I did  buy in bitcoin over a month ago 7k the plan is  to be a long-term hold.  Now I have about 20% more to buy in with, with the prices so high and everything I was going to buy some Altcoins Mainly Ethereum Or more bitcoin.
This Is the hard part of my plan trying to figure out should I just hold onto the cash in my account and see what the prices do?

indeed sometimes it is the toughest temptation when we plan for long-term investment when it experiences a few percent increases we can't wait to always want to sell right away and make a profit.
if for the long term I will go for bitcoin, but ETH is also good because that coin always follows the flow of bitcoin. If you don't have a daily profit plan, it's better to hold onto for the long term, because this is still the beginning.

If you are a long term holder for sure you will wait for a good opportunities to gain a decent return for your holdings but if you cannot wait and want to earn with the current market flow then actually you can easily sell it now and buy again when the  price became more cheaper since doing a day trades will be profitable for now since the market is not much getting a crazy pumps these days since it's so early and halving will take effect on next following months.

people will look for the lowest price to buy bitcoin, but expecting prices below the current $ 8k price is difficult enough, in fact, I feel that price development will expand from that price. so, this month, the $ 8k level is good enough to have bitcoin. however, the price will be above $ 10k, so I think it's very reasonable to have bitcoin at current prices.

After Bitcoin breaking the $9k resistance it's just so fast to happen that it suddenly drop to $8600+ down to $8300+ until it becomes stable there. I don't think Bitcoin will ever go down to $7k farther after breaking the $9k, but still some people are still expecting it to happen.

If you are long term holder, then these small pump and dump does not matter. Bitcoin dumps 500$ every few days and pump 500$ after some days. I am planning to hold bitcoins until it reaches 18-20K.  I think everyone should keep some amount aside because you will gain a lot around 2x-3x once we have another bull market.

How benefit with long term holder where we always need money every day, I think most effective with trade in daily day where earn more than 5% is enough and we can start continue for next day for trading with other coin, depend with always trade long term but we must looking other source income.

If you're in need of money every day then you shouldn't be trading in the first place. You can earn from trading short term or long term but you shouldn't rely on it for the most part because it's not going to give you a stable profit.

Depends, waiting to sell can also backfire if you're wanting more because prices can also go down but like i've said it depends as we have different approaches on how we trade (buying every month, selling once there's enough profit, etc).

For a long term holder this is a good strategy, but there are some day traders who prefer the wild ups and downs and likes to gamble so they are going to watch how the price moves and will go for a daily profits depending on their risk appetite and then continue on the next day. For daily traders a full month is a good gauge to see how they earn. But I'm sure majority of us prefers to just hold and don't want to make things complicated on our end.

This is a good opportunity by then but we don't need to push everyone to take the risk and then bitting back us because of the market drops and creat losses to them. It is just to tell that whoever will come to take the risk, better do it now and don't wait that the market will jump high. Halving has come closer and may the whole market will going to bullish( not far from happening).

We all through to these hopes since last year, might this year give favor to us and all our support and patience will be paid off. Though investing it really at risk but it is also a big regret when we saw the price moves high and we held nothing.

it's better to buy bitcoin to buy and hold long term. Today it is still very good to buy crypto assets. for altcoin, maybe this could be your reference to be chosen again besides ethereum. such as ADA, XLM, XRP, LTC, BCH, BSV, LINK, EOS, ATOM, BNB, DOGE. only purchase one third of your assets for altcoin. and 4/3 is for Bitcoin.

Advice I find very hard to follow but is repeatedly proven true is to buy into a rising price trend, not guess the bottom pricing and not buying 'value' or indecision on hope.   Right now since it broke the 50 day its been very positive hence this advice is probably in play right now upto 10k area or so and then its a maybe.   I even placed bets it would achieve that 5 figure area on the outside odds because too many doubted it.    Also its my medium term guess, I also expect the return of doubt and a sell off in future but the idea is dont sell out before it occurs.

Lot's of "maybe" and guesses. We're in a halving year with a strong end-of-bear signal last year. That is the perfect storm for some pre-halving wild action with a new yearly high and obviously a higher high than the previous $13.8k.

I still see my chart playing out with a pre-halving pump to $16k:

Look good for bitcoin and have to buy right now because checking with your picture bitcoin keep trend to be higher price, with halving in front of our eyes make bitcoin become stronger and have higher price for investing, better should buy now before late to get much profit with bitcoin and altcoin or never get anything when bitcoin up.

Predicting it is more difficult now.
We just dont really know if it will continue to go up or not.
There is a huge probability for it to be dumped since there are traders who already made their profit.
Perhaps you could monitor it for a week and then maybe you will find more clues into where it will go.

Just some precaution coz this might just be another hype.

Right. Buying bitcoin is the best solution right now since we know that the price starts increases, and even if the price is down and up again, the price will go to the highest price. That will be good for us if we can always buy bitcoin at a low price because after it reaches the low price, it will start to increase. The altcoin can be another way to make a profit, but we need to find what is the coin, and we need to analyze one by one, which will need time before we can get the right coin. But I like the list of the altcoin you mention, and yes, that coin will have a big chance to increase and give us more profit. The portion of the asset will be 50% for bitcoin, and the other 50% for altcoin so we can make the biggest profit from the cryptocurrency.

Lot's of "maybe" and guesses.

Such is life, I'll never give out certainties.   I studied statistics and probability and despite the best efforts of many nothing is ever for certain and BTC prices are especially chaotic.   Theres no way I'm telling people we have to goto 10k just because we break past a moving average which is only an indicator and not an actual live area of higher volume representing peoples interests.   I'll even say 10k itself is nonsense, doesn't mean anything even if we do sell from there in that moment also be ready to close your short as its momentum can quickly be eroded by something more real then a round number.

Its always maybe and a probably at my very best guess.   If it was calculated correctly on a spreadsheet they might spit confidence levels but I'd still say BTC isnt predictable, we all gamble on every trade if we're honest.
If OP is asking a long term question he needs to visit more then one section of this forum to form his opinion as it surely relies on a variety of viewpoints to gain perspective and accuracy in a view where pressure lies between supply and demand.   If BTC can pop out of nowhere into peoples consciousnesses in 2010's what else is out there and Im aware we had clues to crypto beforehand and I even followed a few but still this whole phenomena is unprecedented and so unpredictable always imo.
The rule I'm given by those with far more experience and success is the 200 day direction is far more important then purely its level on one day, so we have a descending 200 day average still and caution on this while forming an opinion is a fair weight to add.

So if you have money buy ether also and hold it both for a long time and sell them both in the right time. So buy and hold bitcoin and ether those coins are good.

Price looks to be going up a lot, if people bought a week ago they will be very happy about it, we are talking about a 10%+ increase which normally you wouldn't get this quickly in any other commodity in the world.

Bitcoin started around 7000 dollars this year (with some change) and right now it is over 9 thousand dollars, that is a 2 thousand dollars increase and comes to about 20%-25% increase in the end when you look at it. The problem here, we already had a 20% increase, are we really willing to risk our money for potentially going even further or are we just taking all the profits with us and leaving the market waiting for it to bottom out again?

Remember the vital advice of all financial world; "buy low sell high" which means we are at that "high" right now and selling could be understandable or even holding is okay but buying looks like would be prime example of "buy high, sell low" instead of the vice versa version of it.

Even if it suffers a correction, which would be something very normal after increasing +25%, I dont think it would go as low as coming back to 7k. The biggest correction I can imaging would be to 8k and I would be surprised. So everything looks good, green days coming!!

Well, when you have bought it at a lower price and then want to buy more with a budget that is certainly more, then just do it and for what you only see the price. Waiting to get a lower value right now I think it will only waste time because with a plan to hold for the long term, buying a price range lower than 10k will not be a problem I feel because the price is predicted to be very high when the bull run and this is good opportunity.

Think about your budget and think about the risk that you'll be going to face sooner. If all been set and ready for anything that will happen to your investment, then why not? Because this is not all about seeing people become profitable, become rich and we just jump into crypto. But this is all about the courage and willingness to make part of its long journey. We are still not really at high and yet, still a good price to buy by then. Take this opportunity with no doubts and you'll never regret.

Investing in Bitcoin is like investing in future. I invest when ever I can, at least one per month. I think investing in Bitcoin has some

Holding stablecoins is now a waste. If you are a long-term speculator, you should buy now and put as much money as you can. because this is just a signal that the market has turned uptrend, and the game is just beginning. The previous 3 halving of bitcoin has brought a great surprise to many investors. And I think this year will be the same, too many factors suggest that the price of bitcoin will rise very high this year.
First we see that the epidemic in China is increasingly spreading, their economy will gradually go down and people will soon buy bitcoins to keep their money.
Then the world's public debt is getting bigger and bigger and you should know that the crypto market is still having a very small market capitalization. Therefore, it is perfectly reasonable that many whales will come and pour money into this market.

Buy when theres more doubt then now or some have the strategy to buy into a rise but I think we already had that beginning of a rise.     Buy into selling to then hold medium term is I think the smart way to do it, the problem with a question of to buy now also matches someone who will shortly want to sell not long after and the price might be lower then.

https://i.imgur.com/G2aVcXR.png

My general take is we are in the area of resistance, it can keep going of course but I think theres time for buying with some delay from right now.    Theres a number of places lower it could return to before moving higher later so I would speculate it might do that.   However I dont have the excuse to be bearish just this moment, I think its on the menu though.   200 day MA is still in decline so I do have some excuse for hesitancy.

we are closing to 10k$ now and sooner crossing that range so the more we doubt is the more we are losing the chances to profit in the next months.

if you are into crypto you must be ready to risk because that is the volatility means here,i have bought when the price is so much cheaper than today but i am still buying when i have extra money or those i earned from the campaign be remain on Holding.

this is same thoughts wayback early 2017 when many are doubtful but becomes regret when December comes.

For me, based on the price movement of Bitcoin in the present, I believe that it would continuously increase massively. The price of Bitcoin in the present have reached for about $10,000. This indicates a raped movement in the development of the value of Bitcoin.

You should buy and stock Bitcoin, before it is too late.

This kind of thread will be appear when bitcoin price is increasing, even I will guessed there will be many people who ask to buy bitcoin at $20.000 later. To put of a decision to buy butcoin is very useless, you will be regreted it. Although the price bitcoin was decreasing after you buy it, you just need to be patient and hold your bitcoin for several time because it is price will up again later. Moreover on this good market sentiment if will not have to thinking a thousand of time to buy it because it will profitable for me.

There might only be chance to buy bitcoins until those are below $10,000. Once they again move over $10,000 than they might hardly come down again. This might be the dip where we all can enter the markets considering the current price. Try to find a dip into this dip.

What I meant to say is try to get into bitcoins at the lowest price possible which for now is $9700 and hold it until they reach $12000 if you are here for midterm trading but speaking in terms of long term investment which is what OP needs than we couldn't even predict the price for bitcoins at the end of 2020 so holding for such long period would surely give immense benefits. Such long term investment would also not need much close price speculation.

What are you waiting for? Of course you should. In my opinion, it is necessary to buy Bitcoin especially when the price is under  $10K or $9K. Plus, you may earn a significant profit especially when you hold a huge amount until the end of this year, due to the halving event is coming soon ( probabaly 3 months left ). I advise you also to buy ETH and Bitcoin cash and if you have more money then you should take a risk with some altcoins like, Tron, Cardano..ect. But don't waste all your budget on these coins ( 25%  is definitely acceptable ) .

A month passed since you have launched this thread. I am sure you might have entered some altcoins in the end of January because this month would bring some great prices for most of the altcoins as well as bitcoin. You should even try to get your hands on some newly launched coins. You can speculate the binance launchpad because it really launches some extremely potential projects.

Recently, I made profits in 3 days by buying WRX on binance launchpad for $0.02 and sold it immediately once it cross $0.1 so it was instant profit for me. You can try few such coins for instant profit if you are capable of taking risk.

snip..
many predict that the price of Bitcoin will continue to rise even more than $ 10k this year and I think it will prove, currently in the price of Bitcoin $ 10k and still very good fatherly to buy..  my advice, buy it right now because the possibility of Bitcoin prices going up this year is very high.

Always a good time to consistenly buy.  I am in the mindset that always cost averaging in crypto protects both your downside and you missing a quick spike.  The only downside is if you see an ever growing sell off you will just be catching all the knives.  Dont think that is the case so maybe dont go all in now but periodically put buys in.

now the price of Bitcoin is above 10k$ already and if you really trust the market and Bitcoin?or even other altcoins then better Buy now while the value is still in the Mid,because sooner this year when the Bitcoin Miner Halving happens?you will regret for not buying in 10k$ price and like what others felt in 2017?regrets for not having when the price is still cheaper.

Todays market is not so good for new entry,
Till now 9500 is a big support level so that it should be a key point for the Bull, Next recomended buy zone is blow 9500.

thanks for saving me here mate, actually i am planning to purchase tonight as my payday is coming and i wanted to add investment before halving.
but with this chart?you got my attention and maybe consider buying at $9,500 level because that is the lowest it can be before May i guess?

I think you can make a few orders buy in the $9,500-$10,000 so you don't miss the good price in buying bitcoin. For how much money you want to use, maybe you can place 10% in the range $10,000, 10% in the range of $9,900, 10% in the range of $9,800, 15% in the range of $9,700, 20% in the range of $9,600, and 20% in the range of $9,500. You still have 15% of the total of your money. You can modify the percentage according to your initial money to buy bitcoin.

This time Bitcoin seems strong to break resistant again, I'm sure a few more days Bitcoin can be above $11000, and will try to $13000, if it is broken then All Time High will come

It is at this moment, when Bitcoin is at the boundary of $ 10,000 that there are huge risks for any investor, because a coin can decrease in price at any time.  but I always take into account the upcoming halving in May and expect a steady rise in the price of Bitcoin, not only until this date, but also after halving the rewards for miners.  Based on this, you can take a chance for a certain investment in bitcoin.  my expectations are based on figures from 2013 and 2016, when the same halving occurred.

There is still room for crypto prices to increase so everyday is an opportunity to profit if you will buy a potential currencies. Right now the prices are decreasing a little so it's a good opportunity to buy more as the price will surely bounce back in the following days.

Bitcoin halving is not yet happening so the hype are still very active and you can use this opportunity to gain a profit as we will not know yet whether the market will continue to increase after the halving.

Bitcoin is now at the $9,900 mark and it is a bit low compared to the speculated bull run price of $10,000-$15,000 so buying bitcoin at this point is still a good opportunity because as the days and months go by the increasing adoption of bitcoin will make the price spike perhaps it will reach $15,000-$20,000 in the coming years.

Doesn't have any bearing at all really. Now, today, tomorrow, yesterday, 1 year from now, this is still a risk no matter how you see it. Am Bitcoin all the way, not looking back in the slightest and I hope for the best, as my skin is completely in the game but will I pour everything in? No way. This is still a risk no matter what or how it looks today. You bet it could still go down a lot, or go up a lot. I won't sugarcoat it if anyone asks and you can't afford to "take a chance" all in!

Tread carefully, mi amigos.
