Title: A forum violation or?
Post by: xLays on January 22, 2020, 04:51:38 AM
I just notice this Legendary account (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=9645;sa=showPosts) that he just copy-pasting the article and giving a reference to the copied article. Also posting minute interval some of his posts.

Do you guys consider this a forum violation?

As long as the URLs to the original articles are present, there's no violation (i.e. plagiarism).

But posting etiquette, maybe. Could be some paid promoter.

Seems to be just spamming "news" links to make sig campaign posting quota... there is basically zero effort to participate in any sort of conversation created by these posts. :-\

This sort of activity has been discussed recently: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5217092.0

Although, that user seemed to be shillling ONE website in particular... In this case, at least the user is posting from a wide variety of different websites. It's still pretty low effort "shit posting" in my opinion. The user offers no opinion or commentary, simply the headline, a partial quote and the link to the article.

As I don't frequent those boards/threads, it doesn't really bother me... if I did, I'd probably be tempted to report those posts... possibly also a PM to the campaign manager might be warranted... and reference this:
1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads.

I'm not sure if that can be reported for low quality but he/she has been posting like that for the longest time. I guess it's allowed?

I don't think so. Unlike those guys posting beincrypto links, this user has been posting articles from different sources including popular sites like yahoo and cointelegraph.
