Pornhub, an adult entertainment site is now supporting Tether (USDT) payment option as PayPal stopped servicing its model last 2019.

The Tron CEO Justin Sun said that it's a good way to support victims of centralized payment platforms like PayPal.

We're old enough to understand that this won't bring a negative image to cryptocurrency. In fact, this is actually a great news for us. Bigger companies like pornhub that is open for crypto payments in their business is a way for adoption that we're looking for. If this becomes successful just like how PayPal works before, then we can expect other companies will also try the crypto payment option. What do you think?

I think the one you read is an article about pornhub accepting XVG (VERGE) which caused a pump for XVG as at then. However, this is about pornhub accepting a stable coin (USDT on TRON blockchain). It's a good thing blockchain and crypto are cutting across several sectors even though we still face challenges in adoption.

That is a good decision by them probably they know how risk to used Paypal as a payment processor because Paypal can chargeback transactions which can be reversible. Unlike crypto, its totally safe in having transaction, when it says transaction confirmed, you will never get back the fund. This is the start that might also boost the price of crypto, well, I hope.

Even if they accept only Tether, this means that anyone can use any cryptocurrency to convert to a teaser and pay for services on the site.

but true, any payments involving cryptocurrency are good because the way crypto will begin to be recognized and known, indirectly it will have a good impact on the cryptocurrency itself

Pornhub is one of the most visited sites in the world and has many paid users. USDT is the most suitable cryptocurrency for transactions there because it is very stable..  hopefully, this can encourage mass use of cryptocurrencies in the future.

I think this industry is part of dark web and will not make much impact for real impact we need implementation from bigger corporations, companies and even retail stores that are found in every street and also coffee snack stores. When we achieve that level we can easily say that crypto has reached mass adoption.

Cool! USDT makes way more sense then Verge to me. And i think that some porn actors love it because of the stability.
And  the best thing is when they cash it out they will learn about other cryptos as well because most cryptos are natively traded against it.
So it can even be an easy entry point to cryptos for some people who want to change it to eth or btc

This move will surely favor the crypto community as Pornhub is one of the biggest company out there and their users will surely use crypto payments. Meaning the demand and the users of crypto will be widen because of this scenario.

And there is a big chance also that other big companies will follow the this move so we can consider it as a big advertisement for crypto to spread further to the big company owners out there.

Why not LTC, XRP or better bitcoin?
Yeah, it is a big corporation, no doubt about that. For me, it ain't really a step forward but something that is stopping the real crypto adoption.

I understand that they might be in doubt accepting other altcoins since there is no stability yet but USDT? A big no for me.

I think it's a positive good news from crypto because pornhub is an official porn websites and i think it's legally from US and also the models are paid for doing vids on there so i think it's an official company and it won't make bad image to cryptocurrency

It's completely irrelevant news. I don't understand why anyone would be talking about this.

Their move initially to accept BTC was solely in response to the fact that Paypal has decided to not provide them with their services or them voluntarily abandoning paypal as a payment system (The former seems to be the case), so there is really no other choice for them in terms of online payments, other than credit/debit cards.

Whether or not Tether is being accepted is quite irrelevant to the fundamentals of the cryptospace.

Most of the visitor to Pornhub is Teenager and below which most of them used only the free version and don't have an account. The most user that have a premium account there probably has some fetishes on some porno type. So to make it simple. Only a few users there is actually might encourage on crypto but it is still good compared to nothing.

Lastly for an additional fun fact: Justin Sun is very happy for another FUD news. Maybe adding TRON as payment in pornhub will be the next big announcement upcoming on his twitter account.  :D

I agree with you. Pornhub has the power to make decisions about their market and Tether is a new means of payment for everyone to buy premium accounts more easily. For me, this will not affect the next trend of the crypto market and certainly the value of other coins cannot rise in this way.

Anyway, the adoption of the stable coin by Pornhub in this market is very welcome and hopefully there will be many other floating companies that will adopt this means of payment around the world.

I have mixed feelings about this news. Tether is not a pure cryptocurrency. It is more like a fiat in crypto format. I don't understand why Pornhub is going for the Tether option, when the fact remains that it is very rarely used outside the exchanges. Tether is used to get around the restriction of using fiat cash in cryptocurrency exchanges. It has no other use and it is not suitable for making payments. I am saying this because when you use Tether, someone else is holding the value of those tokens, and you have no means to verify that your Tokens are 100% backed up or not.

It was no different when you are accepting paypal as payment as it was giving the possibility to create a payment option in the fiat balance too. As long as it's still traded on the various exchange site and it has high liquidity, and it's not so crucial about whether it was backed by 100% fiat money or not. Even some parties were announcing the audit for the USDT is not so loudly again.

Verge is not successful in being a replacement for paypal, and that's why that site is trying for another option. That site is still searching the excellent alternative for paypal that offers almost the same feature.

Very good news pornhub added tether as a payment option after in 2018 adding Verge and partnering with pumapay, I hope they will add more cryptocurrency payments like BTC and ETH.

This is not the first time that they are adding digital currency to their payment list. In as much as we all are saying that it's beneficiary to the growth of cryptocurrency, let's not forget too that this step will be a good growth to to Pornhub industry too.

Everyday, there are thousands of Pornhub accounts with users credit cards information hacked. It makes no sense paying for $5-$10 fee and losing $1000s of money in your account.

Moreover, watching porn is what most people like do in secret. Thus, they like to be anonymous. The digital currency offers that. So it's a win win situation; they need cryptocurrency more than cryptocurrency needs them.

Verge was the first one to be added. I don't even know if it's still an option to pay with XVG, but it used to be back when Verge's team decided to make a sh*tty move and paid PornHub to promote XVG on vans, on their main logo and add it as a payment option.

Other than giving Verge a quick pump and dump, nothing else good happened to it. Although Tether isn't really a cryptocurrency, it's good imo that they added a stablecoin. This way, volatility is avoided. Hopefully next one is BTC though. ;D

This is really smart move by pornhub they have understood the advantages to accept tron based usdt and this decision is going to be in a positive way finally pornhub fix the mistake they accepted xvg but it was not good decision I guess but accepting stable coin as payments method looks fantastic decision.

If they accept bitcoin then it would have been great rather they started accepting a shady coin which is plagued with non transparency and other shits.

To overcome the centralized control the porn industry has to use the crypto market to overcome these ban and that is the case with many business where these services will not accept them.

if told to choose whether to choose paypal or cryptocurrencies as a means of payment, then I prefer crypto. I think Pornhub has been very cleverly thought to have decided not to use paypal services on the payment options on their site. My experience using paypal, I feel this paypal is too much set up, and is very rigid, besides that the mix of U.S financial parties is very dominating in regard to accounts that have high business rating and reputation.
With crypto, everything can be easy and straightforward, it is likely that pornhub will be flooded with orders after the crypto is applied as a payment tool on their site.

Being honest about this matter, I am not having an over reactions with this because as an adult we really demand this certain entertainment for our pleasures. However, if adoption would rather divert the payment systems using crypto; the growing numbers of viewers online is increasing this is a good factor that helps crypto demand rises. This is a big step forward for the cryptocurrency market, certainly in the near future, we will have many other websites that will accept cryptocurrency as a payment method. In 2020 there will be a lot of events for this market, and if there are many websites that accept crypto then I believe the market will be pumped as strongly as 2017.

maybe the goal is to facilitate payment. that reason is, because some countries in the world are a bit limited to access paypal or credit cards. while crypto, all countries in the world are free to use it, and also anonymous. that's quite positive considering pornhub is an adult site and needs privacy too.
