Where can I find a good wallet reader that shows how many bitcoins available in a wallet

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "wallet reader."  If you mean to ask what's a good blockchain explorer, Blockchair.com (https://blockchair.com/) is a good one.  It'll show you the balance of any bitcoin wallet, and many other currencies as well.

Given your other thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5220923.0) is about having multiple "wallet.dats"... then I'm guessing you simply want to know what the balance of a given "wallet.dat" is? Is that correct?

If so, then your choices are basically "Bitcoin Core" or "Bitcoin Core" or "Bitcoin Core" :P

The wallet.dat format is quite specialised and there are no other applications that are able to read the wallet.dat format that Bitcoin Core uses and display the addresses and/or wallet balance. PyWallet would probably have been the closest... but that is simply a python script, and is horrifically out of date and not very functional with updated wallet.dat files.

Otherwise, you could probably use PyWallet to dump out the addresses in a wallet.dat file and then run a script that queries a block explorer API to see what the current balance of those addresses is... I'm not aware of any "ready to go"/"off the shelf" scripts that do this at present.

At this point, I tend to believe he's trying to access the funds inside those wallets but is having a hard time cracking it.

Because you asked for the amount of bitcoin in a single wallet, not in a single address, this explorer is helpful for your needs. It connects all addresses in a single wallet for you.

Walletexplorer.com is limited in that it only works if the addresses are "linked" by being included as inputs in the same transaction(s)... so if you have addresses that have never been used together, they won't be linked and walletexplorer will not consider them to be part of the same "wallet".

For instance, if you have:
AddressA
AddressB
AddressC

and you use UTXO-AddressA + UTXO-AddressC in a transaction to send someone some BTC... then walletexplorer.com will show that "YOUR_WALLET" only has addresses AddressA and AddressC... it has no way to link AddressB.

It isn't useful for attempting to identify the balance of a wallet... it's only really useful for identifying "linked addresses"

Here is what is written in their website (https://www.walletexplorer.com/info).

Just basic algorithm is used to determine wallet addresses. Addresses are merged together, if they are co-spent in one transaction. So if addresses A and B are co-spent in transaction T1, and addresses B and C are co-spent in transaction T2, all addresses A, B and C will be part of one wallet.
Sometimes, address belongs to some service but it was never co-spent with other. Then that address stays unnamed. It is typically more often at addresses with higher amount (as there is no need to co-spending).

Wallet reader or wallet? I didn't get it. What are you exactly looking for?
