Title: Has the price of Altcoin stopped in one place?
Post by: aliijaz12560 on February 02, 2020, 10:56:13 AM
It seems that the price of Altcoin has stopped in one place and is getting lower. If the price of Altcoin stays at that fixed point, then it is very difficult for the price of Altcoin to fall. If the price of Altcoin now becomes too high, then people will start buying more and more, which will cause the price of Altcoin to go up. Is that right?

I think this is happening because of overall recession of the market. Not just altcoins prices have been stopped moving every coin including bluechip crypto currencies are also losing their stability. Market needs huge investment to recover from this dip.

Some altcoins already made a big pump, you see ETH now? Some altcoins was not able to pump right now, simply because they can’t and maybe the investors still have no trust to put big money during a bear market. If the price of altcoins becomes high again then not all can afford to buy and I’m sure hodlers will sell their holdings and we will see the corrections again, the pump and dump is already here since then and altcoins can’t afford to be stuck in one place for a long time, the pump is coming.

there is something needed before you can see increase of the price altcoin . Big news that can affect its price or any other update than can help them to increase its price, then its need more investors addoption and follow the hype and it will continue to increase.

I would say depending on the alts you are currently holding, i just visited cmc and i see some alts that are doing well in the top gainers list, example.... Albos (ALB) is 897% up, SalPay (SAL) is 897% up, NowToken (NOW) is 643% up..... and so on, all this are alts that has done really well this past few days despite the slow movement of price in the majority of alts,
Even though btc is dominating the market with constant increase in price, some alts are not left out as well, but for you to see the majority of alts price moving up simultaneously means the bull run season has arrived, in this case all the market looks green, all alts suddenly increase in price irrespective of what they have to offer.

Fiat and crypto, always moving in accordance with the direction of trends or newer technologies as well. Supporting factors are also good news and project updates according to the roadmap listed or not. so, prices will continue to change according to the direction of the trend, but if you are in the bear market you do not expect very large changes, it needs corrections related to all the news circulating, so investors come back with some money to buy some of the crypto entrusted. Try to see the current state of the market, a market nature code indicates a bull run, even though prices are crawling little by little. but not completely true.

The altcoins price will only increase if the consume itself would invest into it even more. The demand of the consumer will help the altcoin price to rise up even more. As you notice, people do not want to buy altcoin when the price of it is low. Little did they know that they can use it as a opportunity to have some of it and sell that coin when the price of it rises up.

Well we have coins that stays on one price and that is what we call "stable" coins.

The problem with altcoin is that majority of them are being used for pump-and-dump scheme that's why with the current state of the market, less investors are buying because they don't want to be trapped. I know that everyone wanted to see 2017 all over again. But it is too difficult because investors are now getting smarter plus the all scam being pulled by projects even at 2020.

When money is not going into a system, it dies not allow for further growth but it causes stagnation. This could be one explanation. People have been built by altcoins including myself, so I will hardly invest in ICO and some IEO too. I would rather buy established coins. I think such experience can be a reason that market price isn't really moving except maybe halving can shake the tables again.

It depends on the Alts you are holding because some alts like BNB, TRX are performing even in this dead situation of alts. The reason behind the dump in other alts is investors are not ready to buy it, also they lost the trust because of scammers. Alts growth as of now is pretty hard, so it's better to hold again and wait patiently.

There is no coin called altcoin, it's not like the bitcoin that stands for just one coin/cryptocurrency alone, so you cannot in a broad sense just claim that the price of altcoin "has stopped in one place".

It does not make any sense in my honest opinion, if you have any fact, news, information or review about any altcoin you feel has become stagnant, be specific about the coin and the discussion will make more sense.

No, I don't think altcoins price will stop in one place. Volatility is the crypto's nature! Just look at the altcoin market today. Ethereum price increased heavily, that's why every altcoin is green now! Shit altcoin will die in this bullish season because people are smart enough to choose the right alts! So, we can't expect a stable price for altcoins, even many people like me would not like that!

This assumption might not always be right. The growth of altcoins these days, most especially having a significant growth, is limited to individual milestones. Some altcoins that have been able to reach and achieved significant milestones, where the true picture of the project is brought into picture, those are the ones you see with real growth and they are able to attract new investors. Therefore, I will suggest you do not generalize, but do your research on each separate entity.

No, just it is slowly growing and testing resistances on graphs. Pretty normal in a time when coin finding its price. In a bull market, in a FOMO phase specifically there are no resistances or supports, so traders can´t predict anything because the graph looks crazy without any predictable moves.

Even in a bull market the price to not move up in a linear way, it move up, down or sideways for some time before continue the upward momentum. Concerning people buying more tokens when the price goes up, it is the way human beings are designed, we have people that will not invest into a thing until they see more people do, because it helps them psychological, that if more people are investing into this thing, it means it is a genuine investment

That is a wrong idea because when you buy at a higher price, it is very likely that you will lose money because you buy at the wrong time. This market continues to fluctuate so it is unlikely that prices will forever increase and vice versa, with a fluctuating market then of course you have to get the right moment to buy and sell.

Yes, things aren't looking good for alts - Bitcoin is already at 50% of its ATH, but ETH is only at 18%, Bcash is at 10%, and it looks the same for pretty much every other coins. In 2017 alts often outperformed Bitcoin, now we have the opposite - severe underperformance across the board with no signs of improvement. Ask yourself, do you want to keep risking your money for nothing or is it finally the time to admit that altcoins = shitcoins and go back to Bitcoin.

Why you guys see it as lowering? I think you are skipping the time for altcoins momentum that it's going higher lately. You always want to see it quickly pump while not recognizing that it came from the bottom.
But, this could be your main reaction if the altcoins you are holding are out of this world.

Firstly there is no fixed point or price for any altcoin
The prices depend on the e demand for the token.

If an altcoin offers people value, there will be hype and a high demand for such token which will lead to a high or pumped price

The price of altcoins varies greatly, but basically, its vector is the vector of Bitcoin's movement, if Bitcoin grows, then altcoins grow even against its background, if it falls, then it crushes altcoins by itself.

Of course, there are coins that grow independently of it, but for this you need to have a team that would constantly improve the coin.

It is simple demand and supply. When there are more demand, the scarcity tendency will increase which mean the price will increase. Also when people beginning to sell massive the altcoin the price will start to decrease and this is exactly what happen when you see price of crypto falling or rising. However, this scenario can't be generalized even when the market start bleeding and crypto start showing reds, there will still be some that may rise but their risen might not have increase beyond their price drop rate which means it will still be green. Also, in some occasions, the price may remain steady especially when trading volume per time is almost zero

Agree,  some alts especially on the top list are moving upwards. Probably because of bitcoin gradual pump? Don't you think? Anyway, this movement would not last long, it will fall then shortly since, pumps are just being accompanied by other's movement rather than having the pump to a certain altcoin alone. Trust is being test here, and people lack of that. So once it had reach, may be close to its highest price for a certain week/day people would right down selling it off quickly, like how ETH moves, imo.

As I noticed, I must say yes. Technically speaking, the market price was almost all tied up to the Bitcoin price movement. All I can see, most of them will pump up when the price of Bitcoin goes up. The word volatile makes them fluctuate every now and then and there's no reason altcoins will stop in one place.

Besides, I didn't see when Bitcoin has a small correction altcoins price in the market showing green, it should also in red color showing that they swing the same movement to Bitcoin.

People should stop expecting altcoins to surge higher like how bitcoin is presently growing, this is not possible, the growth you will see from altcoins will be lower until bitcoin reach a higher price, it still a good time to accumulate altcoins, not much difference from their bear market price

I am not sure about this. In investment, there is always a saying that you should never try to catch a falling knife. Investing in altcoins right now is exactly like trying to catch a falling knife. To put it honestly, I don't see any sign of a recovery in the altcoin market. The market share continues to decline and a lot of users are stuck with investment in altcoins. These people don't want to book their losses now. But eventually, they will run out of patience and get rid of their holdings. There will be a bloodbath in the market then.

There are two trend lines going simultaneously for every altcoin and median of both determine the price of coin. One is general trend line which follows the trend of bitcoin and the other is coin specific line which follows the trend of coin itself. It's appearing that altcoins have stopped at one place because the price of bitcoin has become less volatile in last few months. But that doesn't mean it is guarantee that price will only go upwards from here. If bitcoin dumps, other coins will fall too.

I can't confirm whether it's true or not, because cryptoqurrency prices are difficult to guess and price fluctuations depend on demand or supply in the market. but if the price of a coin increases because demand is higher than inventory in the market.

~~If the price of Altcoin stays at that fixed point, then it is very difficult for the price of Altcoin to fall.~~
How the price of altcoins can stay at a fixed rate? I think it is quite impossible for now since the rates of altcoins purely determine by "sell-buy" of traders on the market. The fall in price is a risk of investing/trading in altcoins, it is unavoidable. Everybody knows that altcoin prices are very volatile and unstable. But you can minimize the risk if you know how crypto market works and the trends of crypto coins.

>Choose the right time to buy and avoid buying because of HYPE!!

Who will be fixed it? I think there is no one who can be able to do that. Setting the price foe just one altcoin even its developer/creator can never do that. This price cryptocurrencies will just depend on the news, depend on the altcoin itself, if the altcoin has the function that many people think it can be used and many useful in the future then they will choose as their investment place and its price will slowly up although we can face many thing (fall and up) but eventually this coin price will goes up.

Do not worry, as far as i have analysed all good alts looking good to gain value from bulls but do remember that it is mostly the big ones that will give the clear move especially btc and eth and then the bullish wave will transfer to other good alts and low cap tokens so if you want to take the first mover advantage you should get btc and eth.

Only promising altcoin that built trust through the years goes up just like Ethereum it is following bitcoin tail but other altcoins are being buried to dust with no movements at all. This is where we filter good from bad ones but be careful of a pump and dump altcoins it is very common now. It is normal in cryptocurrency to fall, unpredictable price, up and down just like bitcoin. But there is an altcoin that stops at fixed price those are stablecoins like USDT.

If the price of altcoins stopped in one place, then this would be one of the most joyful and sad events for many people.
Indeed, on the one hand, alternative coins would stop their uncontrolled fall, on the other hand, they would stop their growth, and at the same time, the desire to invest in them would fade.

I understand what you are talking about. However, I think that everything will depend only on what will happen with Bitcoin now.
For example, in the case of correction, alternative coins will most likely behave in a classic way - they will react to the fall of Bitcoin with their own fall, which is likely to plunge everyone into another depression.

Altcoins will constantly grow and fall, it will not happen that altcoins will stand still on one place for a long time, the cryptocurrency market is constantly moving and therefore the price of altcoins is either increasing or decreasing, this is how the cryptocurrency market works and you should not even worry about it.

The tradition has been that BTC price dictates the turns taken by altcoins, and indeed there have been situations in the past where due to BTC pumping, altcoins also increased in popularity.

However, altcoins don't always depend on the BTC factor as sometimes some BTC levels change in accordance to the developments and infrastructure created by that ICO or whatever, which received social spreading or awareness. In other words, altcoin prices tend to follow the crypto market regulator 'BTC' but there are also exceptions.

however, it depends on the circumstances. an altcoin is always changing, especially altcoin that has just developed. the thing that we most often see is a point when altcoin prices stop, like ethereum today. however, it all depends on the trend, if the crypto trend goes up again, I think that point will be higher.

As long as the cryptocurrencies don't have any real usage, their prices will remain in a depressed state. Even Ethereum has few real life uses. It was the first platform to offer smart contracts, but this concept hasn't taken off. Smart contracts are not being used widely outside the cryptocurrency sector. I hope that the situation will change once ETH 2.0 comes online.

Your right, the market is all about demand and once the demand will become thicker then the price of every currencies will increase. But you should also consider that the market is full of many types of investment and one of the investment type that really affect the price of the market are the traders.

If there are big trades that happened then the market will surely be affected and that is why there is no steady increase of price instead there are little setbacks even in the bull season.

Price will stuck if there's no buyer and seller activity, depend on what of course their analysis. More buying can't become indicator the price will goes up because seller also take function in this part, giving bait to eat by buyer for their profit. This is market and need both ( buyer and seller ), can't do by just one. You only need to stay with your plan, volatility is normal and don't take too scare about it.

its moved by speculators that have big resources, they want to make retail traders like give us in market and take our money as much as possible they can. by creating fake dump or pump they will make traders trapped in their strategy. their job only make panic all trader and take own advantages. technical or fundamental analisys just a tools to reduce the risk that caused by this speculators.

Correct marketing strategy.
Some of them are left in the dark. Which we don't really know why.

Developers just don't have that courage anymore to put more effort into making people buy their tokens.
There is always a new strategy to hype it. I mean, look at Ethereum changing their ways and then suddenly the price of it increased.
Buyers will come in once they see efforts from those who really want their project to succeed.

The ups and downs of the altcoin price depends heavily on the domination of the enthusiasts and we can see in any market then such is what happens often and most influential bitcoin price rises then very rarely we see the altcoin does not move a little However, this occurs on altcoins that already have the potential and is already trusted by many investors unlike altcoins which are not clear volume.

The altcoin is not stopped at a fixed point or price, but it still changes to up and down following with bitcoin price. If bitcoin price is up, some altcoin will go up, and if bitcoin is down, the altcoin will go down, and sometimes it is down too deep. So when the altcoin is up again, people will try to buy the altcoin, especially if people can see the lowest price of the altcoin. But if you start to buy the altcoin when the price begins to increase, you need to be careful because the price does not always increase in the next hour. One coin will not moves if no buyer wants to buy that coin because their focus is changed to another coin.

Not all Alts are stagnant. Some coins are making good move even when it dips , it will move up again. Some altcoins are meant for the purpose of pumping and dumping. So you don't really need to expect anything from them. They can be stagnant for a while and when it's time for action they pump and them dump to remain stagnant. Good coins don't do like that.

The price of altcoins are volatile as well hence it cant be fixed because it depends on the supply and demand. Take a look at bitcoin, usually btc influence the price of alts and following its movement.

When the market is turning bullish investors are buying due to fomo, this can affect the price of coins to go up so expect an increase if there's a new investors or whales buying, for sure it has an impact to crypto as a whole.

Investors will start buying altcoin when the price of Bitcoin moves up. Investors tend to speculate on altcoin when the price of Bitcoin goes up and I think this is reasonable because altcoin prices go up. In addition, the dominance of bitcoin in the cryptocurrency market will go down when altcoin prices start rising

I don't think the same. What I think is the time bitcoins would start showing us some growth would be the time when majority of the altcoin holders would sell their altcoins or convert them to bitcoins to get majority of their hands on bitcoins. Once bitcoins stabilizes, they would again sell bitcoins for majority of altcoins and it would be the time when altcoins would start growing again.

The time bitcoins start pumping would be the time for us to start buying altcoins also on a dip which would surely be hiked to a another peak where we have to sell those altcoins and wait for another dip. This is how the markets run according to me and it makes it easier for me to make profits in both bearish as well as the bullish markets.

You should make some more study about the price growth and price dump. There are times in every graph where only newbies accumulate the markets and that is the time when the markets can move in any unknown direction. Most of the times when bot orders and professional traders are accumulated onto the markets than we could see stable growth or a dump because they love to follow the charts and patterns which makes it easier to understand the further movements on any chart.

If the price gets on the ATH peak than I do not really think that more and more people would buy that coin because it is already onto the peak and it is the time to sell those coins and not to buy more. Newbies would make mistake my buying onto the peak and professionals would already exit the markets with their pockets full of profits.

Altcoin didn't stop in one place.Maybe few coins stuck but some others altcoin moving. Actually it depends on btc movement.Btc sometimes pumping high and dumping high thats its look likes that altcoin is stopped in one place. If you look at ETH and other currency you can see the movement. Also if you check the CMC gainers and looser you will see the movement.

I think altcoin price will only grow from here with the market cap, i mean  if the volume starts growing and funds start flowing into market in a constant manner then the whole market will grow including all good alts and i think once market breaks the previous high volume of 800 billion the next peak will be in trillions that will make most coins to become very expensive.

I think that Bitcoin will now move in the range from 8 to 10 thousand for a very long time. therefore, do not stay in those altcoins that already brought you losses. look for other coins that are as volatile as bitcoin and continue making money

I do not think that price has stopped, i mean just look at the charts the prices are volatile and they keep moving up and down but i agree with you to an extent that the alts seem to be in accumulation phase and it can last for few months before it breaks above and then we can expect fireworks and bulls finally taking over the market.

Yes that's right. But after most people buy a certain amount of altcoins for themselves, people will stop buying, and then the price will start to fall, and then people will start to sell their coins in a panic, and the price will go lower. We have seen this circuit many times :-\

Altcoins aren't really going through the best of times right now. If you choose them for long-term investments, it is better to pay attention to reliable, proven coins. Or use a scalping strategy. This will help you increase your deposit in a short time.

If some people accumulate more it means some are selling or should i use the word dump. By virtue of that, there will be pressure on the sell order, which will cause the price to fall, However, i still believe that altcoins, most especially the top ones, have the ability to keep growing, but do not expect that to happen every time. there will always be a time of correction.

This price has been predicted last year and until now it wasn't gaining good, yet there's an attempt only but didn't come a very high value more than $10k. Altcoins is more worst than that, that's why it became so hard to see any further increase even if there's an increasing value of btc. However, there's always a good potential but we can't specifically see a nice trend for now.

Altcoins prices are not really as high as bitcoin but there are also some top altcoins that are really performing well. It really depends on the altcoin you invested. I think if bull run will happen this year, we can already expect majority of the coins including altcoins are going to take a surge. This is the time where altcoins prices do not stay on one place anymore.

The price of cryptocurrency is entirely determined by demand and bid. Economic law applies here. If there are rumours or good news that support a project, it will increase market interest, and vice versa. In this case, BTC price movements also tend to influence. So this is still volatile

Bitcoin has performed relatively well the past few months and alt-coins have been lagging a bit, hence its dominance over the market, increasing or remaining at its current rate, but this may change with the next uptrend and include top quality alternatives appreciating as well

We should not be scared when altcoin prices are not moving too much, on contrary we should be afraid when altcoin prices move that frantically that we can't catch up. However that is the reality of crypto, prices of everything moves so much that sometimes some people get wealthy over night by luck, sometimes some people lose all they have in few days, so the best thing you can ever do is to just hope that you are in the right tide when the price moves and that is about it.

Altcoin will move again, it is actually moving now, if you check out the biggest movers of the day, there is definitely always a coin that went up 50%+ in a day and there is definitely one that went down 20%+ and that is not just today, every day there is always those coins, so we are just waiting for the whole market to catch up.

The price f almost all crytpo assets is relatively tied to the up and down movement of the bitcoin price charts. If bitcoin stands at the current $9774(as at time of this comment) and an altcoin is at 500 sats and doesn't drop below that. i consider it to be a direct or relative reference to the price of the bitcoin equivalent in satoshi of the altcoin but that doesn't independently put the altcoin price as referred to as frozen or at a stand still point.

scalping is not possible in manual mode. most likely if you use this strategy now you will lose more than you earn. look at the market. Bitcoin is now behaving very unpredictably and altcoins are also waiting for the direction of movement of bitcoin to go after it. scalping will be a good strategy during growth or fall, but not during the flat. Or maybe we can use robots for scalping.

Scalping is often done by expert traders but I think it's too risky without sufficient technical knowledge. Scalping is profitable because the trading period used is so short that expert traders can multiply their coins in a short time.

Yes, scalping is too risky if we don't have good knowledge of how to follow the price at the market because the price itself will still up and down on that day. If we still trying to do scalping, we can get a high price in buying, and we don't have a chance to sell at another higher price. I see some of my friends stuck in the high price, and they still hold until now because there is no choice to sell it right now. If they cut loss the coin with the price at that moment, they will get lost, and they cannot sell if the price suddenly has a chance to increase.

Not all altcoins were or are in a fixed position, it is hardly even done as the price is a coin is dependent on the number of people buying as well as the the number of people selling. It's either it is going down or rising, any altcoin fixed on a certain price is a stablecoin and if it's not a stablecoin then it means something is wrong or the altcoin has been abandoned. Also, during bear market might maintain a certain range of price or dump as wel and once the market changes for good the price will increase; a good example is ETH.

yes, because basically the price of altcoin will depend on the trading volume, which means the transaction or the purchase volume of the altcoin. if many buy then the price will continue to pump and if many sell, the price will fall. it is based on the crypto supply and demand laws as many experts have explained and that is also part of the cause of the volatile crypto market.

In maximum time price of altcoin depends on the price of bitcoin. No one wants to make a loss in their investments. As a result, everyone is more interested in investing in coins having more liquidity. So, people are more investing in bitcoins or coins having same liquidity as that which is making the price of other coins go low.

So, there is only two way,
1) If altcoin able to attracts more investors then it will chance to go up.
2) If someday bitcoin loss its popularity (it's not happened anymore) then the price of altcoins might increase.

there is something needed before you can see increase of the price altcoin . Big news that can affect its price or any other update than can help them to increase its price, then its need more investors addoption and follow the hype and it will continue to increase.
The price of some altcoins are aligned with the price movement of Bitcoin so maybe that is another factor to consider. The market value of Bitcoin is a bit stabilized at $9k mark and same thing happened with the price of ethereum and other altcoins.
It seems that the price of Altcoin has stopped in one place and is getting lower. If the price of Altcoin stays at that fixed point, then it is very difficult for the price of Altcoin to fall. Maybe, he is speaking in general. The market value of most cryptos including alts have decreased recently and is now at a certain point covered with green marks. But the prices are playing pump and dump in a certain price mark ; bitcoin for example at $9.6k mark.
The price of cryptocurrency is entirely determined by demand and bid. Economic law applies here. If there are rumours or good news that support a project, it will increase market interest, and vice versa. In this case, BTC price movements also tend to influence. So this is still volatile
Bitcoin at this point has its advantages with regards to Bitcoin halving. There is an anticipation of an event believed to trigger an uprise to its market price. This anticipation is making huge expectation with regards to its price making Bitcoin more popular to the eyes of investors given that such anticipated event happened before and the result is promising.

some alt have gone up, you can see on cmc but about other alt may not have the trust of investors or people doubt the project.
because prices are stable now there is a possibility the ALT will go up if the btc goes up.
so there are still many opportunities just waiting for correction from the market.
maybe vice versa if the alt price goes down people will buy more for when the price goes up.

Those ALTS that stop are projects that are not making any developments or progress. There are some altcoins that are actually making a bounce from time to time even just a little pump with their prices. Example is XRP which happend to be in its recent slumped but was able to recover now, and I am expecting it to be a lot better according to one of the article I read.

The value of altcoin is also not stable, and determined by the market forces. In most cases, the market responds to big news and this may be seen in the prices of some altcoin.
There's this assumption that the value of Bitcoin is inversely related to that of altcoin which makes the value of altcoin reduce when bitcoin is on the increase. I personally haven't verified this assumption and I'm sceptical about its rightness.

Volatility is not like that, volatility is not daily, if anyone who has no idea about crypto read this topic they would imagine altcoins go up 100% every day and go down 80% everyday, it is not like that. Sometimes prices just stay the same and do not move all that much, which of course means stagnant period started and that is fine, but sometimes it moves up super fast for few days in a row, or maybe goes down until bottoming out for a while and those are the volatile days.

Any currency could be same price for weeks or even months without moving 10%+ in any direction, just stay the same level , but then one day you look at it and suddenly you have like 20%+ movements up or down, THAT'S the volatility people are talking about, and we can still have that at any moment.

It depends on the market order because there are cases that even if the volume of demand is continuous but the price order is keeping on a low price, still the price of that certain Altcoin will remain low. Maybe people are still finding some sort of reason to obtain Altcoins that is why the price is observed to stop at a single point. It will be just fine as long as it is still at a desirable price and will never getting lower anymore. There are still other contributing factors that are needed to consider for raising the price of a certain Altcoin. If we do really want to increase the price, then we also need to rise up the bid as well as the demand to keep it more attractive so that many people will be interested to buy and sell. But as of the moment people are still wondering if it is really worthy to get into Altcoins because they see more opportunity keeping in track with Bitcoin. Also price changes is common among cryptocurrencies because of their characteristic of being volatile when it comes to their prices.

Alt-coin price does not stop at a particular point, but the price keep increased or decreased, base on the market prince order, which has been determine the number of demand and supplied in that particular coin trading. for example take a look of Ethereum (ETH), and the price changes every minutes of the day.

ALT will go up if the btc goes up.
This is one of the most annoying belief IMO. When btc price increase I dont see alt price will suddenly increase too. What increases is the price tag cause btc market adjusting on the whole market. It doesnt mean that it is increase. Maybe some due increase for major coins sincr these coins are listed on so many exchanges affecting the flow of trading. But for others market just putting its price to normal to match btc.

The traffic in the exchange site is very crowded and that's why there was so many pump and dump in the market. A coin that is not backed by anything will never be stopped in the price movement.

The commodity is something that can prevent volatility because a coin can have real value.

I completely disagree with you OP. Firstly, you need to know that the volatility is widespread and existed in most of altcoins, the market is pretty unstable in all the time. In fact, it depends on the coins you are holding, except the ones on TOP 20 or 30 , the other altcoins are really  garbage and unprofitable, it is essential to pick the best of them like, Tezos, Monero, Tether.. ect. In addition to that, the whole market is pretty linked to Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The prices followed a similar trend, when the Bitcoin prices went down. But now, many of the larger alts are showing independence as far as the exchange rates are concerned. And in the near future, we will see more and more altcoins removing their linkage with BTC.

well some altcoins are like that but for altcoin which has no support from buyers or investors then when bitcoin prices rise altcoin prices will fall because they have nothing to buy so usually altcoin prices can go up when they are used to make transactions between places of exchange using altcoin because when the price of bitcoin rises usually bitchain blockchain transactions are also very dense so altcoin becomes a solution and the price will rise.

If the price of Altcoin now becomes too high, then people will start buying more and more, which will cause the price of Altcoin to go up. Is that right?
So in other words you basically want that FOMO takes over the market, am I right? Look we all want the market to go up so we can earn some money, that is completely natural but at the same time we do not have control over how the market moves, right now we are seeing a decrease in the value of most altcoins and that was to be expected, during all this year the market of altcoins advanced almost unopposed, we needed a correction and I will not be surprised if this correction continues for some more days.

The price of Altcoins will be stop at a price the market is too volatile for such experience. The market unfolds in waves each wave comes with a new price action either up or down.

I totally can't help contradicting you OP. Right off the bat, you have to realize that the instability is across the board and existed in the vast majority of altcoins, the market is truly precarious in constantly. Truth be told, it relies upon the coins you are holding, aside from the ones on TOP 20 or 30 , the different altcoins are extremely trash and unrewarding, it is basic to pick the best of them like, Tezos, Monero, Tether.. ect. Notwithstanding that, the entire market is really connected to Bitcoin and Ethereum.

minor setback for a major comeback, check on Ilcoin and you will see a great value for your investment.

What particular altcoin are you referencing ?  Because it is rare for all altcoins price to be stagnant, or be in a place.
But if such happens, it means that the token does not have any active buy orders, hence no trade activities.

You also need to understand that either an altcoin has a high price, or a low price, people always buy

Guess what? Its the altcoins season now. Chart doesn't lie, all altcoins saw the surge of 10-15% increase or more while Bitcoin only at 8%.

As at today the prices of most altcoins are showing good signs of increase that is to say they were not and have never been at one place. Many factors affects the market and the results is seen on the prices of coins, so when you notice no good sign of growth, be calm and give it time; although this is associated with some coins not all. Few days ago the pandemic brought the world to its knees and now signs of hope are being seen and it is just a matter of time for the global markets to readjust and kickoff including crypto. Lastly, any coin you see has stopped in one place for a long time shows something is wrong.

It is so sorry but that is not what I see in the market.
Altcoin won't stop in one place or to a certain price range. Crypto marker never had that feature but instead, it looks more volatile compared before. We are not longing at the bottom because at any time of the day we even have to move high. And when it regards to the price movement, they move freely and I believe that more people will come to invest in crypto when the market is down and to take advantage while the other is selling.

It is not least expected at this time, but for the fact that this is when many of us would be more enthusiastic to see the price value improving. Though we all are sure we are not yet on bull run, I still feel the pandemic is also a factor contributing to the retrogression presently, besides we are just around the halving , let's be hopefully expecting appreciation soon.

I know why you are saying this because the expected bulls are not here yet like we have seen during last parabolic run that is why most investors are disappointed and either say that market seems dead for altcoins while others think that we are still surrounded by bears and real bulls are not here yet. I would just say that now keep hodling good times will definitely come.

Yes you are right, all the currencies that are not stablecoin will easily decrease or increase their price base on demand. If many people are starting to buy for example Eth then the Eth price will increase it's price dramatically as the demand is there but once the holders will start to sell their Eth then the price will also decrease.

That is how the crypto market works, altcoin prices didn't stay at a fixed point even stablecoins as there are a little movement of their price like 0.001$ something like that but it will not affect that much compare to the currencies that are not stable as they can easily goes down like half of their price in just a day or even worst if the dump is there.

You are right, just need to be a little more careful than we pay attention. Of course there are ways to increase market tensions, this is normal and natural, while investors will reinvest their investments to support the market. It also btc dominates the market with constant price increases making it green all other cryptocurrency.

investors have a very high disappointment because I feel not only from the fall of the altcoin price but from the price of bitcoin which has a negative impact on many cryptocurrency prices which ultimately makes investors disappointed like this, there must be a moment that can trigger investors to be able to recover price again.

Well, presently, the price of altcoins seem to be stagnant or rather it is dippening, one major reason of this altcoin dip is the bitcoin dominance, everyone is now buying bitcoin and dumping their altcoins especially now that it's halving period, all these have contributed to the stagnant price of altcoins, and this is the best time to pick some good altcoin.

The price of cryptocurrencies does not stay stable, unless it's a stable coin. Any other coin which is not a stable coin does not stay stable. There might be times when they are fluctuating much, but it doesn't happen for long and they will start fluctuating up and down again. Most of these altcoins you're seeing follow the price movement of bitcoin (correlation) and when the bitcoin is going up they do the same, same thing with the opposite. If you do check the price chart you will notice that they are all a little bit similar to each other.

The price of coins never stands still.
It either moves up or moves down. In principle, this is the mechanism of the entire crypto market, I don’t think that you will find any differences if you compare all alternative coins from the list of top 100 - 500.
Therefore, analyze the market and select the most convenient and lowest entry points and also the highest points exit from alternative coins. I do not think that a long-term hold makes sense.

Whenever market is in bad shape it seems that altcoins are the ones to suffer for it the most, it's different story if we have to compare the performance of bitcoin with altcoins that's why Bitcoin will remain my first choice, it's more like altcoins are simply too fragile

When somebody thinks about investing, BTC is just the first choice for making a good profit. For that reason we can say that there is not a big demand for altcoins, maybe it can be an effect on altcoins. But altcoins, absolutely top altcoins are for me valuable, no doubt as you mentioned it can be the best time to collect some altcoins, it will be worthwhile.

Basically the price of the altcoins are dependent on that of the bitcoin,  when the price of Bitcoin raise the price of the altcoins also raise alongside, but, sometimes the reverse is always the case as we have seen when bitcoin increase without seeing the same with the altcoins. The price of altcoins are sincerely tide with that of Bitcoin. This is just for one reason, Bitcoin is the "mainstream manifestation of the Blockchain technology".

If you have not bought your altcoin at the bottom price and then you will be so difficult to get the profit from the market. As far as i know if your position will determine where you can get your profit.
Altcoin season is just a gimmick but the bullish trend will be determined by the altcoin team whether it can provide a good news or not.

The standstill in price is not coming from the end of only altcoins but BTC as well. Only a few mid-cap coins like DIVI and Digibyte have made significant rise in price for about 30%. Many investors anticipated a huge rise in price before and right after Bitcoin Halving but the trend did not go that way.

how come btc drop when he said that people now are buying btc and dumping alts to have more money to buy more btc   ? oh well maybe the price of btc just skyrockets and people see that as a good opportunity to start selling again  .  maybe thats the reason why we saw btc dips   . i just notice that alts alot of them dip but nice to know that few good alts like digibyte arent affected on it  , it was like someone has a control of this coin   .   havent heard divi but that must be a good coin choice too as you said

You can noticed it through bitcoin and altcoin dominance, typically the altcoin market is heavily densed and saturated compared to btc. Most projects dont have massive investor like btc and this is the problem ever since on the altcoin space. Only few goos projects pumped and those are top coins. I am not so invested on altcoins cause I know there are times that they can be down so much due to high volatility instead Im saving for btc and some converted into stablecoins to be safe from inflations.

True! There is no standstill price in the cryptocurrency market (maybe BTC can be an exception since the price is too expensive and the changes in few cents aren't counted). The price of altcoins fluctuate up and down frequently. There is another case that the price of altcoin may not change too much is when it hit the lowest price. At that moment, if the buyers just leave the market, the project can't continue, then the coin's price can't recover so it just stays that way. But yes, in normal situation, the price changes frequently.

Indeed, if the market is in bearish trend we can notice the price of alts are worse than bitcoin. Some alts cant bounce back if the market is already improving, those who are not belong in top list are unlikely to recover compared to popular coins. The case of bitcoin is different because even the price plunge to its lowest price, it has a high chance to recover due to its supporters.
