You would not find this kind of "news" with Google.

It either comes out of the Darknet or out of BCX's ass  ;D

I highly suspect the Icelandic authorities hired a crew to do this as the resources needed to do this, this quickly are huge.

wait, they exist?? governments with IT departments that don't have their heads up their asses?

e.g. obamacare website setup by canadians

e.g. all of south korea required to use internet explorer

e.g. south africa banning open source software in all schools

if iceland had white hats in their government with this kind of awareness and know-how, it would be a huge step forward for the entire world.  the US house and senate have people that still don't use email, and think the internet comes in tubes.

It wasn't me but this shit is genius. I highly suspect the Icelandic authorities hired a crew to do this as the resources needed to do this, this quickly are huge.

Somebody took a version of CryptoLocker 2.0, you know the nasty little ransom ware variant that encrypts all your valuable files and uses asymmetrical encryption that requires you to buy the private key when you submit the public key and combined it with Auroracoin. The ransome payment addresses are the premine wallet addresses LOL...In addition it also has a wallet stealer and keylogger.

What's worse, it's being distributed via a large botnet in Eastern Europe and ESET is already on it. Meaning in just a few short days every major anti-virus software will be screaming like a scalded dog when anything AUR gets near any Windows machine that has auto updates.

It's not a hackjob of Cryptolocker, it's a whole new version.

Good luck with the air drop.

Regardless of if you had anything to do with this or not, suspicion will fall your way.
And there are probably some who will consider you at fault.
I would recommend tightning up your personal security.

LOLZ, but wait - if you think it through, it's not the Icelandic government who is really worried about this coin taking off - it's the banks and corporations who hold their DEBT who are worried...  I'm guessing a few million would be a SMALL amount for IMF to throw at this... but eventually the story might leak...

Since the Icelandic central bank has imposed capital controls, AUR could theoretically wobble their "peg" on the krona (not something they want).

For the average citizen of Iceland, AUR means FREE MONEY and GROWTH, as well as a chance to import stuff from foreign countries. Who could be opposed to this?
