Title: Bitcoin price: $ 12,000 is no longer out of reach
Post by: bounty.nvm on February 08, 2020, 02:36:07 PM
In the past few hours, although the gaining momentum has temporarily halted at the threshold of 9,700 USD, recent signals that a breakout above 10,000 USD is quite likely to happen.

As cryptocurrency analyst Eric Hoka tweeted that “given some technical signals and the halving event of bitcoin is approaching, I believe bitcoin will soon retest the $ 10,000 mark this month, even $ 15,000. It must be hard when halving is near. ”

The price of bitcoin over the past 24 hours has ranged from a low of $ 9,714 to $ 9,872. Bitcoin's market capitalization is recorded at $ 176 billion, accounting for 64.3% of the total market value.

Do you think Bitcoin price can reach $ 12,000 this February?

The possible outcome is there with the steady growth so far from last month till now it has been strong signal. The $10,000 for instance can be tested this week or next and if that is broken, I see it hitting $12,000 with a spike maybe.

This month?  I guess it's possible, but we're going to have to see what kind of legs this bull has.  It doesn't seem like bitcoin is poised to explode as it has in the past, but the good thing is that it's been able to hold onto its gains without major dips--so far, that is.  Anything is possible, including a rise to $12k or a drop to $6k.

Then again, the halving is getting closer and I'm pretty sure that many speculators are anticipating a rise in advance of it or afterward, and those speculators might be driving up the price right now.  If they stay in the market, bitcoin should be on solid ground.  If they end up selling (especially all at once), we could be looking at a crash this year.  I've got my fingers crossed that we don't see massive selling like we did for most of 2018, but we'll see.

Maybe is possible but i think we will have the price only under 11k usd and the grow will come later this year.

I don't think 12K USD is possible for this month, 11K USD seems okay for February. Though I am not sure because the month just started, another 20 days are left, so, anything can happen. The way Bitcoin price increasing if 10K USD breakout happens then 11K USD will be done easily!

I constantly see news channels related to bitcoin posting news based on an analyst's twitter, does this mean that news channels related to bitcoin keep monitoring each analyst's twitter accounts?

Do you think Bitcoin price can reach $ 12,000 this February?

it is not impossible. but do not not create great expectations because we are not yet above $10,000 and we should not forget the recent past ( price drop from $ 13000 to $ 6400 ) start from $11000 Is where everything gets much more difficult, it will not be so simple

Later this year? Mate, I respect your thoughts, but as the Bitcoin halving is coming, so we can expect even a bull run in this year. If you know what bull run is, then you will realize that halving can increase the Bitcoin's price to 15-20K USD easily!

Anything and everything is possible now, things are very much different from the last halving, we have as lot of great new coming it's very much different now than the last halving, because majority of the people now had a good and positive perception now on Cryptocurrency compare three years ago, when potential investors are having second thought.

Anything is possible in crypto. Bitcoin halving hype is huge, because the impact of halving history quite amazing. Every time halving came, the crypto market pumped incredibly. So, with that hype I also believe that Bitcoin price may hit 12K USD within this month. Because we know Bitcoin price can grow 5-6K USD within 24 hours. So, let's see what happens.

Why do all expectations turn positive once we see green or break certain resistance levels? Everyone knows that the possibility of price hikes is possible, but this does not necessarily mean that the price will rise or continue to rise.

Many did not expect to get 10,000 again in February, and we are close to this barrier, but this does not mean that we raise the ceiling of ambitions to reach 12,000 dollars, especially as we know that the price was at the 7000 dollar barrier several days ago.

Breaking the $ 10,000 barrier may require more time.

It could be possible but, it would not be easy. Given a short amount of time for Bitcoin to adjust and maintain its new pump for about $9,922.56 today, for me, it would soon struggle on retaining its price for about a week or may take this month. But, if the pumping continues, maybe it would reach $12,000 market value.

There is a high chance for Bitcoin to reach it this month but, it might take a while. My best guess is, next month.

Judging on the previous halving, It doesn't seem like It's hard to reach that certain figure, though Bitcoin slowly increase while nearing the halving, because of the short pull backs.
Do you think Bitcoin price can reach $ 12,000 this February?

I believe It's not going to be easy either reaching that figure Bitcoin might go sideways at $10,000 level, but It's mostly likely and will bound to happen, not sure this month though since we already have 9 days passed since February and Bitcoin still trading at $9,000 level.

We will touch the level of $10k in a few more hours and with its current trend I believe its possible to see BTC on a level of $12k this February and yeah will test more heights. We just need bitcoin to slowly going up without major correction or else we will back from where we started, and hoping that halving event is the reason for the pump.

If the price continues to rise like this $12k is around the corner! We can be there in the next couple days! I see people who talk about
correction that is waits for us after this rise. I don't know what to think about that, maybe correction is around the corner, maybe not,
I can't say anything about that, I am enjoying this beautiful ride and price over $10k again! Let's stay here as long as possible!

It was great having someone in the same opinion as me.
And I hope it will be able to reach $ 15K before Halving 1 week
Same opinion about reaching 15,000$ this april before May halving?if this is possible then we will be sure breaking the $20,000 price in 2017?

you got that right mate because this morning we already break the barricade of climbing the 5 digits value and as i am typing this we are at $10,100 price already seemingly keeping forward and may Reach 12k$ next week.
Can’t wait to experience another $14,000 again like what i did last year when i make a good profit .

If we look over the current price structure than it looking clear before end of current month Bitcoin will test the $12k level. There are so many good signs current rally will get more support as like it is moving forward because everything is turned into bullish and into favor of ongoing trend.

Well, I have to say I'm a bit surprised that price crossed 10000$ relatively fast. I expected to see a little more struggle.
However, that doesn't mean price will jump to 12000$ so soon. It's very likely that we will see that price this year and probably even higher but don't forget that corrections are always possible. I wouldn't like to make conclusions right away, let's wait for a while to see how the situation in the market will develope.

@bounty.nvm bitcoin prices have crossed the $10k level, and now prices are constantly fluctuating between $10000 - $10200 levels. Furthermore to answer your question yes I do believe that bitcoin prices shall cross $12k by February end, however nothing is guaranteed when it comes to bitcoin prices so don’t rely on what you read here do your own research and then take a decision based on it.

$12k or any other much much higher price has never been out of reach. it was just the newbies on the internet specifically those on twitter that were thinking it is!

As cryptocurrency analyst Eric Hoka tweeted
exactly my point. you should stop following idiots who say random crap on the internet and start forming your own analysis. i assure you that the worse analysis of yourself is 10 times better than these guys'.

this rise has little to do with halving, the halving rise is going to be a lot bigger than a tiny 5% rise.

Well, BTC continues to star again and joined 10k club of 2020. It's clear that we are in bullish trend now and I wish to continue the same in upcoming days too, as everyone already know that halving is a big advantage to pump again and I believe the value of BTC might pump atleast 100% so eventually the price will continue to increase.

the price of bitcoin is indeed still in a bullish trend, and it still has the potential to return to $ 12,000 like last year, but it must be supported by good news and whales must enter, I'm worried if whales will play before halving

It is really that difficult to determine at this moment. The price seems to be a bit stable at this point and is not showing signs of its actual direction. But once it continue breaking the $11,000 mark, I would bet that it will be continuous for maybe until it reach $13,000 or a value close to this and won't be that high given that there is still an expected halving to happen that would pull down the price of Bitcoin.

Whales would probably play the game after halving and it might be the key to the 'true' bullrun in the market price of Bitcoin. But since no one knows when will halving occur, it is hard to make a decision at this moment whether to invest already or wait for a little more. But I think the price of 12k-usd mark would be possible soon.

Agree it is still in an uptrend but today, the stress and fatigue has shown very clearly in this long journey because we should understand that each milestone of bitcoin will need a lot of capitalization to achieve, it needs adjustment when it went up so fast and there was no time to stop, the market is lacking too much capital so bitcoin can break through the next milestones. And to make up for the shortfall and continue the journey, we can see that altcoins will be pumped for days, bitcoin's capitalization will need to decrease, $12k will become further in the coming months.

Barely touching the levels of the day this thread was created but yeah, this is exactly the profit taking I knew was going to happen at 10k. How can speculators be ignoring the "easy gains" of what? 35% since 1 Jan 2020? Double-digit profit's the holy grail as it is for most short term speculators so this is dreamland for those who waited a couple more weeks.

The surprise is that the pullback isn't more pronounced!

It will be easy if this good sentiment market keep running. When bitcoin price was $8000 we all hope that bitcoin price will up higher than that, and now $10000 has reached although we are meeting a correction and I'm sure that will just for a while and we will see the price of bitcoin will be up again soon. Halving event will be one of the factor bitcoin price going up, the investors will have confident against it since we just focus on it in a few months back. There is no need to worry, bitcoin price will up and keep hold your bitcoin don't take any decision beside hold and you will gain the profit as you want.

Despite the fact that this industry is a very speculative one, I can confidently say that 2020 is going to be a very good year for Bitcoin considering the halving coming up in May or so. We have already seen $10,000, though RS hasn't been broken yet. $12k is within reach once $10k is breached. Bitcoin has the history of doing even over $3k in a day's spike.

The surprise is that the pullback isn't more pronounced!

It's definitely hard not to react and take advantage of opportunities like this, at least for those who are experienced traders. 35% seems quite unreal even if one looks only at the beginning of the year or a little before that, but it seems that most still choose to hold and not to gamble with "sell high, buy low".

Correction is for now only $300, but it seems that price is recovering (now $9900) and that may actually be a good sign that the bulls are still much stronger than the bears. This is definitely an exciting time, the beginning of the year is completely positive, as the saying goes "if the day is known by the morning" this will be one very exciting year for BTC.

People are forgetting the price movements of bitcoin quite quickly in this market. Have we already reached to a point where people are requiring a reminder that we were literally at around 14 thousand dollars per bitcoin yet dropped afterwards to as far as a bit under 7 thousand, why do we suddenly think that $12k would have been out of reach at all? We have peaked from $3.5k to $14k, we are certainly more than capable of reaching from $7k to over $12k very easily if that was what we are after.

What we should be after however is a constant increase that isn't followed by a big drop, we could very well go above 20 thousand as well, nobody would be too shocked about such a big increase, sure we are not expecting it but we know it could potentially happen, if that were to happen, the real problem is not reaching it, the real problem is not following it with a %80+ increase.

Let's no rush again guys as we're back under 10k$ again with a good bunch of buy support going even lower than 9k$ so I'm hoping that we can still hold this position and maybe climb back to 10k$ and more. Last days were great for cryptocurrencies as we saw Bitcoin engine getting started just a little bit, we saw great altcoins ( Blocknet ) going up a lot after the super block vote and a lot of fresh news coming into the cryptocurrency space so my I'm asking myself : Is Bitcoin going mainstream again soon  ? I think yes.

12 thousand dollars will happen sooner rather than later and people do not realize how sooner it will be.

First of all, 12 thousand dollars is something we have already achieved during 2019 so its not really an insane number anymore, in 2018 it looked impossible since we were going to $6k and than $3.5k, but now we have passed it already once, we can pass it again.

The other reason is we have already increased from $7k to $10k which is a $3k increase, adding another $2k on top of that increase doesn't seem all that shocking.

Yes, I also agree with you, according to the technical analysis of the 1D time frame, the price of bitcoin will only reach $ 11,300 at the highest resistance this month.

And if that really happens then the trading volume will certainly be higher, and in the end, the next month the price of bitcoin will have a higher resistance line.
Currently the price of bitcoin must pass $ 10,300 to reach the highest price this month.

There's still plenty of time, I have no doubt bitcoin could reach that price and we will again make this market more hype.

Bull run! Bull run! Bull run! Bull run!... that's the words that's in our mind so the more the hype the higher the uptrend pressure we might witness and we know when the price is doing good, media would help with their very positive publication.

There is no hurdle for bitcoins to reach $10,300 with the current average speed. Maybe in 1 or 2 days we might see bitcoins surpassing $10.3K which would than start the rally towards $12k. Bitcoins might have to struggle a lot at around $12k because it would not be possible to cross $12k without expecting a dump. Bitcoins are getting more volatile these days which is keeping a huge gap between the 24 hours low and 24 hours high price.

We could almost see the difference of $1000 at these two points which might be the most beneficial part for short term traders. These huge volatile graphs would get more volatile and maybe we could even see a price movement of $2000+ in the coming few months. This would accelerate the bull runs and would bring them closer.

What I think is that price for bitcoins can reach $12000 in few coming days itself or maybe a week. The graphs have started showing us significant growth and compiling various graphs leads me to a decision where I could see bitcoins crossing $11,900 in a week which is almost $12k. This would make bitcoins stay on the mark price for some days and again it might start showing us some growth which would move towards the next target. This year, bitcoin halving is really going to show us a massive pump and we could even see 4 times more price than we saw at the mid 2017 and this is what makes me predict the price for bitcoins in few coming days.

The surprise is that the pullback isn't more pronounced!

the profit is mostly cashed out before the $10k rise in the previous corrections and the buy backs have also happened too. that is why the so called "correction" after the $10k+ wasn't even significant and it leads me to believe that it was only whales trying to pull the price back down rather the traders selling to take profit.

Do you think Bitcoin price can reach $ 12,000 this February?
It's totally possible to reach that price this month, we already attain to hit the 10,000$ and by just hitting this price it causes plenty of predictions like it will gonna hit 100,000$ by the end of 2021 and many more. I just recently check the price of bitcoin and it seems we already surpass again the 10,000$ and based on the current of bitcoin it's now around 10,273$ and I'm totally looking forward if this month we can really attain to reach the 12,000$. There still a plenty of days left this month and the movement of bitcoin still looking upward and even we see a sudden drop on its price yesterday, it seems there's nothing to panic and it's normal to happen. I know there are some people who are FOMO in the current state of bitcoin, but for me, no need to carried away and just invest and hold your bitcoin.

Many forecasts are more optimistic about bullrun of Bitcoin during 2020 rather than in 2019.

So let's cross our fingers and wait.

I think that in February we will not see such a rapid rise in the price of Bitcoin for $ 12,000, but nevertheless I hope for a continued increase in Bitcoin this year.  First of all, I am sure that the next halving in May 2020 will bring very good results.  The fact is that if you look at the previous reduction in rewards for miners by half, we will see that after 2013, Bitcoin increased by 12,000 percent, and after 2016, Bitcoin increased by 13,000 percent.  Accordingly, I expect the same results after halving 2020.

It is possible as long as the price of the bitcoin will not break down. The current retracement of bitcoin is healthy and it seems that there will be an upward movement that will happen again but it is just my expectation and we should be aware that there is always risks. Anything can happen and we should be prepared on unexpected situation in order to lessen the risks.

Well, resistance is still in place. Although, forecasts are barely right 50% of the time. Bitcoin prices are just too disconnected from real world events, it's a market driven purely by demand. Predictions are just lucky if they are right. Perhaps miners now would want to influence the markets so more of their hardware would remain profitable for mining, but really there isn't much that can be done. Prices will eventually follow the money no matter how much subjugation any party could force on them. At this time indeed the sentiment appears to be more positive but there's no signs of strong support either.

the price of $ 12,000 will be reached this year, I'm very sure of that. other than that, I think that the price of bitcoin can really reach prices that exceed $ 15,000 this year. however, current developments make it possible to reach the price of $ 12,000 before halving arrives, and after halving, bitcoin will provide other expectations. of course it is a higher price.

Well, I believe $12,000 will happen this year, but it still difficult if the price will reach that price this month because we are back at the lower price, and it will need more time to increase. We need to see bitcoin price break $11,000 first before the price can rise higher because bitcoin price before is almost touched $11,000. We need to have more patience to wait and see the price will hit that price, and this time, bitcoin price adjusts the price before the price can increase higher. I think sooner or later, the price will break every highest price and no matter if the price moves fast or slow, we will see a new highest price this year.

Yes, but today we wake up with a some retracement so I guess that $11k-$12k target will have to wait a big longer as expected. This kind of correction though looks healthy, at least we didn't see some artificial pump from $9k-$12k in short amount of time. Otherwise it will be a bubble that needs to be burst. We need more patience here, at least a good 5 digits at the end of this month is not that bad.

As long as corrections keep happening the price will not really make that much of a new high because the higher the price gets the more people start to sell to take out profits which results with us not making as much profit as we normally could.

Of course, we still could see higher prices but we need to make sure first the people who want to sell at those prices ends up selling all their money and we do not have any people left in those prices that end up selling, if we get rid of those people then we can actually move higher without any sell pressure on us. That may take some time but the important thing is to not give up, as long as we do not give up, we will drop a few hundred and try to go back and constantly do that, if we don't give up eventually that will stop and we will start to go beyond those levels.
