Title: Bitcoin donation service
Post by: chris56c on February 12, 2020, 11:42:48 PM
Idea i've been thinking about for awhile but the concept is one person add's in a donation amount for X amount

than theres 3,4,5 buttons below it all spread out
each button is given a value up .0001 or 1 penny or whatever the donater gives the value to each button

than the people accepting the donations have to click the button as many times as they can until all the bitcoin is depleted

private room thats only accessed through a code.
Total buttons could be 3 or 20 or 50

and i'm thinking for security reasons everythings stored in cold storage and bitcoin is transfered through a different address or a paper address through mail or just a 4-5 day hold

donator can go through different means but than fee's are added just basic things.
if someone decides to give away 1000$ or more than cold storage should be the best

looks for any input or ideas

I'm not really sure what the purpose of this would be?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but essentially:
1. Donator sets an amount to donate
2. Donator allocates the amount per "button"
3. Receiver then has to click the buttons until the donation is complete?

Is this intended for like streaming or something. What's the actual point of this beside theatrics?

I don't understand the purpose of all of this?

1. So someone set up a Bitcoin donation
2. They open up a Bitcoin donation address
3. Donator send their donations to that Bitcoin address

End of story.

Donator A -> Donation address A, simply as that. So it's up to the company or person that open up the donation, no need cold storage. And that's why is it called donation, it should be put to good use that instant they got the donations.

I think chris is trying to describe some kind of ponzi system.   Or else his idea does not make much sense...

this sounds more like a faucet to me.
the donater is the faucet owner who charges the hot wallet balance with a set amount then the buttons is the claim faucet button where the users who want to get the amount click it to receive a fixed amount. the payment is also the same since "micropayments" are usually batched and sent later one manually to save on fees.
