Title: Happy Bitcoin Valentine's Day!
Post by: Kakmakr on February 14, 2020, 05:34:27 AM
Seeing that we are all sharing some of our time with each other every day, I just wanted to say Happy Valentine's Day to all of you. I hope you are going to share the Bitcoin love with loads of people, without sharing to many viruses.  :D

Let's forget about all the problems and fighting for a day and concentrate on the positive thing that brought us together here, namely : Bitcoin.  ;)

I decided to spread the Bitcoin love today and I created some paper wallets with a small amount of coin on it and I am going to distribute this to random people on the street in my city. I am adding a flower for the ladies with the little paper wallet and a link to this site to get more information about Bitcoin.

I hope some of you will do the same today, so that we can spread the Bitcoin love.  ;D  Wish me luck, it is surely going to be a interesting day.

Ps. I am keeping the private keys and if the coins are not moved until the next Valentine's Day, I will take back my gifts.  ;D

So nice of you man, and a nice idea to spread some love on Valentine's day through giving out and educating people about Bitcoin. I hope the people who'll get to receive your gift would use it. I tried the same last Christmas day, but my friends aren't too computer techy and didn't bother to use it because the amount wasn't that huge ($5) each, and they thought I was just trippin.

Btw, I laughed at the "without sharing viruses"

Great idea but would it be nice to just give out some home made food to some homeless people so they would also feel special even just for this day?
But it is your idea it is your money I hope that those people who would receive it knows how to use crypto or make some transaction.

Sharing viruses is funny. I don't know if human would want to intentionally transmit virus etc  ;D ::)
Anyway, is a time for people of the world to share gift including whatever you have plus coins.

Sounds like a good idea. You can also use these paper wallets and stick some of them outside public libraries, schools and universities so that people get attracted towards it and hence more people will find out about bitcoin. You can even keep the private keys in a place and make a puzzle out of it and the one who cracks it will get to keep the money. Things like these are a fun way to educate people about bitcoin.

Happy Valentine to all of you too.

That is so nice though I hope that they will not be thinking that you are wanting to scam them or maybe hack their PCs as they put that codes. BTW, I also hope that they know what it is and willing to use them.

I hope all of you also give a simple surpise to your love ones.

Having a new idea like what OP do is also cool however if they dont know how to claim those bitcoin balance in paper wallet  the bitcoin balance will be wasted. Unless OP also have backup , incase the balance not claim.

Sweet! Bitcoin is anywhere while love is on the air  ;D
Can you share with us where did you find the tutorial or some tools to create your bitcoin paper wallets? It's kinda cool.

Hope to see more updates on this thread such as pictures of your flowers/paper wallets(hidden private keys) and willing to hear your experience how you introduce bitcoins to strangers like do they know Bitcoin or they don't care about it. Good luck!

Well it's a good idea this V-day, but I don't have the guts to approach some random people and give them paper wallets. Maybe majority of them will think I'm crazy or what.  :) Anyway, it's a good way to spread the love and I do hope that some of those random people will take care of the paper wallets themselves and maybe involved in bitcoin or crypto because of your actions. Best of luck!

Continue the great idea you have and hopefully you also share this to homeless people, they need it more than those people you just crossed walking on the street, they have more capability to provide their needs than those people who are really in need.

Happy hearts day to everyone!

This is a great way to celebrate valentine's day and spreading bitcoin awareness at the same time and not to mention sharing your blessings with random people. I hope you'll have a great day today. A simple act can make people happy. Spread the love and spread bitcoin. Happy Valentine's day everyone.

This is not a bad idea but Im just wondering why you decide to do this during Valentines Day? That's very generous of you and very creative. I am curious how to make own paper wallet? Isnt it too hard to make one? Also why not direct fiat money will you share and not a complicated stuff like this. Problem here is maybe they dont know how to use it in order to claim thw free money.

Happy Valentines to you, maybe you havent have a date for tonight and instead doing this amazing intiative.

Have a safe trip, and enjoy your activity for today! Thank you for sharing a new way for spreading bitcoin this day. Let's share some love and kindness today. :)

I agree it would help a lot to promote awareness about Bitcoin even more,
But OP should really choose carefully to who he/she would give it too since there are some people who doesn't know a thing on how to send or use it.
Some of them might just throw it away but it wouldn't be a problem since OP have a copy so he/she could always retrieve the BTC .
But it would be great if they could get the BTC that OP would give since it is a present for them to be used.

Nice initiative(if you aren't joking). ;D
I don't think that any girl will spend any of the bitcoins you are about to give away.
Anyway,I don't celebrate Valentine's Day,because I don't have a girlfriend and,even if I had,I wouldn't celebrate it.Valentine's day is just a western marketing trick,created to manipulate more men into buying "romantic" stuff for their ladies. ;D
I'm a bitcoin supporter,but I don't love bitcoin.After all,BTC is just a bunch of programming code.
You can't love that. ;D

It is a sweet valentines day for you and for us here who are celebrating Valentines day.

It is very generous that you thought of something like this but why you distribute it to random people :D. It would be better if you ask them first if they know something about Bitcoin so that it will be useful to them but since you will get it again because you got the keys. One year is very long to wait especially if you distributed it to random people out there.

Anyway, good luck for you and I hope that you will do this not only on days where there are events like this but anytime if you have money and time and donate it to those in need thru fiat.

What a great way to celebrate the occasion ,
Just because some already have child or living together that doesn't mean that you shouldn't surprise your partner anymore.
There are some who wouldn't celebrate this occasion just because they already have the girl that they once dream of.

I never thought that this Valentines day will be the day to spread some bitcoin awareness by your idea. Time will come that I will definitely copy your idea even if not on the Valentine's day. I can see how dedicated you are as a Bitcoin enthusiast, bro. Keep it up and Good luck.

Let's just spread some love right now and forget the fight for just an a day. Spread love and giving some bitcoins to the person we are in love to. Using also our bitcoins to buy some gifts to our loved ones just like what I have been doing right now. By just buying some roses on the streets to help the people who are hardworking on selling their products will help them. Spread love on this community just like the old times. Happy Valentines Bitcointalk community.

How are you going to spend this day? I'm going to go to a restaurant with my girlfriend and in no way trade crypto today.
I will going to spend my Valentine's day with my family and treating them to a restaurant and also doesn't have any plans on doing some cryptocurrency assets right now in which I will give this day to my beloved family and also to my wife. Spread the love to other people also is the one I want to do in order to celebrate my Valentine's day right now. Happy Valentine's to all the people just spread love and giving though it is the essential way of celebrating this kind of love day.

What a remarkable way of spreading your love to the people, if I have a good amount of bitcoin I will probably do the same as bitcoin is not yet very familiar in our country and in this way I can share the importance of bitcoin while offering them a token of love using a small amount of bitcoin.

Do you plan to spread love also here in the forum? Many will surely become happy if you will do it also even 50 small amount of bitcoins are enough, like you can just raffle them and the lucky winners will get the token of your love this Valentine's day.

We should definitely forget all our problems and just keep on your mind that love will solve different problems even it is big. Concentrating on all positive vibes will totally lift up all your problems in life and do not ever forget that there's is someone that waiting for you and it's your loved ones and your investment in cryptocurrencies. Share all your blessings(profit from your investment) with someone especially to your family. We should make love here and at the same time, we should make more income from bitcoin.

How are you going to spend this day? I'm going to go to a restaurant with my girlfriend and in no way trade crypto today.
Actually, I bought different chocolate especially her favorite chocolate and after that, we buy pizza and fried chicken. In fact, we spent my income from the signature campaign  :D

I just hope they actually know what to do with the paper wallet you gave them. Or at least, they have the will to at the very least, visit the sites you gave them to learn more about BTC. A pretty nice promotion as a sideline as well IMO.

Still, hope you had a nice try with your endeavor and Happy Valentines to everyone in the forum!

Honestly rather hard to share paper wallets towards homeless people. Fiat, possibly, which is IMO a lot easier to give out. Cryptocurrency is still a tad bit advanced that the world needs to advance a lot more for it to become mainstream.

Great strategy! This way the chance to actually "burn" the bitcoins by losing them is minimized. ;) I know many people, myself included, who dumps flyers in the first garbage can once they receive it.
You might want to do start a vlog haha I'm sure you would get a lot of attention from the crypto community.

A great way to use Valentine's Day to share some satoshi with them and that is also a form of promotion I think, but unfortunately I just do the same way as most people to celebrate this day of love, by distributing chocolate and also another gift for people who are closer, I think it will make them happier because I don't want to share some satoshi but they can't use it even though in reality having crypto is something more valuable.

Yeah, Bitcoin is what unites this community, so this is also something to celebrate today. I think your idea is nice, but adding a flower for females seems too traditionalist to me. IMO it should be either no flowers or flowers for everyone (and I'd choose 'no flowers', because killing them so that someone can enjoy them for a couple of days does not make much sense to me, and they're usually ridiculously overpriced). Please tell us how it goes, I guess photos of how this looks like would be nice as well (obviously, the wallet addresses and stuff should be blurred). How do you plan to distribute them? Just give to people personally? I bet many people wouldn't accept because of thinking that all this is very suspicious. I would not take anything from a stranger, for instance. But perhaps leaving a note along with the necessary data somewhere in the cafes or something could work better, I don't know.

That's too much love and effort! But if you'll do it here in my country, I think they'll just throw the paper you will give or might not accept it. They might think it's a scam or not. Cause who would even give money to random people passing by. And it's not just a simple money like fiat because it's Bitcoin. And besides not everyone know about it so they might just think it's a scam. But I really appreciate the effort for that! Since Valentines had already pass, how was it? Kinda late but Happy Valentine's Day to everyone

Belated Happy Valentines Day although I'm a day late but I think I can do the same for smaller amounts even there's no occassion like this. I guess it's smart to start with your loved ones, your GF or if married with your life.

Sure, she would love to have it just teach her how to claim it.  :P

That’s really a good thing to do. Sadly, those of us that don’t have much won’t be able to do such a thing lol. I don’t even have anything to do for this Valentine so I’m just going to sleep lmao ::). I don’t have much and I invest only the little I can afford to invest so I wouldn’t have to stress myself.

But, this is really one of the things I would love to do someday when I have enough money. And I hope you tell those people what you’re giving to them and the worth, so they wouldn’t think that it’s just ordinary paper and end up throwing it away. This is true, because some of them may not have heard of cryptocurrency before, and when they see it they wouldn’t regard it. So it’s best to explain to them. And nice thing you doing there man.

~~ I created some paper wallets with a small amount of coin on it and I am going to distribute this to random people on the street in my city. ~~
"a small amount of coin"? Is it Bitcoin or altcoins? IMO, If you really want to spread Bitcoin love, then you need to share Bitcoin (not other coins) to people. So, from your gift people can learn something from Bitcoin. Anyway, you are better to share it with the Bitcoin community, not to random people. Why? People who deserve to get Bitcoin gift are people who really care & love to Bitcoin itself.

I gave them Bitcoin, because I want to spread the word about Bitcoin. You also missed the whole point of this exercise, because I did this to promote Bitcoin to new people to increase Bitcoin adoption.

This was a very cool project and I will definitely do this again, because it stimulated a lot of interesting discussions. Some people just blatantly denied my gift, which was strange at first, but later I thought about it and saw their point of view. <Why would someone just give people money for free?>

We are being bombarded with so-called FREE gifts every day and we soon find out that there are always a catch, from having to subscribe for a service or listening to some time-share marketing or whatever. < Remember the free holiday at a resort and then forced to attend a 2 hour marketing session where they grilled you to buy some time-shares. >  :P

A lot of people thought it was some kind of Ponzi scheme and I had to explain to them the difference between a Ponzi scheme and what Bitcoin actually is.

I have a whole year to save some more money to do it better next year.  ;)  I might have to increase the amount a bit more, but I gave them just enough to get them started. I will surely add the amount of coins that were not claimed to my savings to boost it a bit.  ;D

Wow! That was some solid act there.
Also, it will be a good way to make people aware of something which they might not knew.
If instructions for getting the money is all there then it will be an easy task.
They will just need a smartphone and internet and I think almost every human now have it. Hell! even kids do have it nowadays.  :D

Somehow I have got some idea with this. Thank you.

I think that based on the foregoing, Bitcoin can be associated with any holiday that people around the world and in individual countries celebrate, since people always start spending money, as well as cryptocurrency, on the holiday.  Nevertheless, I believe that such spending of cryptocurrency funds on gifts will not fundamentally affect the state of the cryptocurrency market.  In addition, given the recent decline in Bitcoin prices by several percent over the past couple of days, But this is not at all the influence of Valentine's Day.

That's kinda nice for a gift. Although the Valentine's Day had passed already, this seems like a great idea to share a bit of money to people around you using paper wallets, ey?  I guess if rich people would do the same, they would giveaway free Trezors.  :)
I kinda want to find a way to give people awareness of Bitcoin currently and it seems like it isn't going so well so far. People are just meh to these kinds of things when it comes to technicality.

A lot of people thought it was some kind of Ponzi scheme and I had to explain to them the difference between a Ponzi scheme and what Bitcoin actually is.

Even after the age of Bitcoin is almost twelve years old, yet many people get annoyed when they hear the name of Bitcoin, they think busniss with Bitcoin is just dishonest activity. I welcome your work you really showed actually how to do bitcoin campaigns. I Wish everyone a greeat valentines day and hope that you make lots of money from investing in bitcoin and may bitcoins live long.
Those impressions arent new but the thing here is that there are people who do really have the passion on sharing up about Bitcoins usage and benefits.
@Kakmakr this is somewhat a good act to spread bitcoin awareness into those random people where you do gave those paper wallets.Hopefully they wont
tore those papers into pieces. lol. A simple instruction on how to claim those coins would be already enough.
