Good move and initiative, but nah, there's nothing we can do about it, especially people outside Pakistan, and even it got a lot of supporters if the central bank doesn't moved and mind that petition then there's nothing to do about it. Except if one of the congress/senate or higher positions on the government there, act to lift the ban then there might be a chance.

One of the ways to get this done quickly and avoid problems is to live in a small autonomous physical community in a very rural area. Or just live a completely decentralized online life, OR both. What is important is living a good, peaceful life and avoid letting the government/law enforcement people see you as a threat.
I will probably move into very isolated areas If it becomes hard/impossible to  live a peaceful, safe, good, healthy life in government run places. You could live sustainably without money in such areas . Or you could rely on bartering, create/use a "local blockchain", use special stones, metals,,etc as currencies

It's good to be honest with ourselves, we can write petitions all we want but in the end the government does what they so desire, it's very possible that this petition wouldn't even get to those in power(the decision makers).

The common man in a centralized system, doesn't really have a say in the affairs/decisions of the government, they make their decisions mostly in an arbitrary manner, I want this ban to be lifted, but I do not know if i(we)can do anything about it.

Well I would suggest you to make a committee , Hire some lawyers and then ask them how they would approach this situation since you know , I do think those people would know the best.
But I really don't know if the government will along with that no matter what you do since in this matter the government is more like a dictator and the people no matter whatever they do cannot just get them to do something that would be against the government and the banks .

It's so sad, and as far as Pakistan goes if it follows the Islamic law, then I don't really find any statement that Bitcoin/crypto is Haram, and it shouldn't be Haram anyways, all it does is it is another form of currency, just more transparent and based on public ledger blockchain. So it should be halal.

I looked at your post history and saw that you have been fighting for the unbanning of cryptocurerncy in Pakistan. I suggest you lock this thread and update the first petition thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5202352). I don't know how your system of government works but you will probably need support from a politician and from your local community. It is great that your high court has responded to your petition and required the central bank and another agency to respond but I think the best way to deal with this is through legislation.

In that case, start following the Crypto Kanoon in various platforms like Twitter and Youtube. Below are their social media details,

Twitter: https://twitter.com/cryptokanoon
Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8FCcWDNe2N8EfEiVd7AwtA

They are a group of lawyers who are fighting a similar case in India as well. Keeping in mind, the legislative framework of India and Pakistan are somewhat similar, it can help you immensely. They always update the details of the arguments that happened in each hearings so you may find that useful.

That's a great initiative mate. I would be following up on this to see whether your authorities are actually going to heed to it. Then I can make similar suggestions in my country. They have not made any strict regulations concerning it but they have labeled bitcoin as a big scam making many people dislike the idea of using bitcoins for transactions.

A friend in Pakistan still can buy and hold bitcoin. I think he buys from a peer-peer system rather than a monitored exchange. But why will the government of Pakistan be against the freedom of the people? They fear they may lost control over the people or their banks will fold up?

For sure also for the sake of their people, whether we like it or not Bitcoin now is also used in cybercrime activity. But in fact, I admire the consideration of cryptocurrency. However, it really is hard to fight against Central and Commercial banks. Especially in Pakistan. Imagine fighting with Goliath when you are not even David? A smaller and the younger ones, I guess. That is how I see it as an analogy.

I understand your concern and admiration with Cryptocurrency. But Central Banks are closer to the government than us. They can simply ask the government to stop it right away. Simply because their businesses will be disrupted heavily. We need to understand that traditional banks are keeping their positions in the market.

When I read the article that you mentioned that was to protect citizens from fraudulent activities due to crypto, I think what you can do is continue to educate citizens to be able understand crypto and always try to rise awareness about that. It's hard to fight the government because they always have a reason to against something which they think is dangerous.

The idea itself is good. But I’m afraid that the petition will be powerless against the decrees of the authorities.

Thank you everyone for the positive feedback.

As a media person, I have some influence in the country, here is my crypto-related profile
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wiKMPMRDxg

I tried finding an advocate for this but no one understood, so I had to file it in person.

I just searching for online video or documents, where I can get crypto laws in U.K, how they regulated crypto mining and trading in their region as Pakistan also follow U.K. based format for court work.

Thanks in advance.

That won't work.
Your suggestion is not that easy. You cannot force someone to just live in a rural place just because they want to file a petition for lifting the crypto currency ban.

I don't know what the deep details into why Pakistan made the ban.
You will need to push it with one government service near you.
The City Mayor will be the first step. If you could somehow make a good argument into why this should be done then he could pass this to the Province Governor or Congressman. They can file the petition or maybe create a law with his colleagues.
You need a strong paperwork here.
You cannot just say I want this and I want that without something solid to back it up.

I don't know if the government of Pakistan will listen to such petitions coming from crypto community. I still remember that it was reported that there was some kind of petition or rally in India regarding their stance on crypto. But it didn't deter the authorities to push their agenda. So as much as we wanted to help by getting into this petitions I don't think that it will make change or influence the decision of their government.

correct me if i'm wrong, according to what i see on TV's. pakistan Is a country where censorship of the press when the press criticizes government policies and also when the press criticizes the military. I also heard that Pakistani elections are not 100% fair. there are irregularities and that there is discrimination between Muslims and those who are not Muslims. I may be wrong because nowadays the TV channels just want to make money, they don't bother to confirm the news. But if it is true what I hear on the TV channels, it is clear that the Pakistani Government will not accept Bitcoin and the Central Bank will follow government policy

I don't know if a direct legal fight against the central bank itself is a wise move. Would it really bend the central bank to the point of them deciding to lift the ban? I am thinking of other ways that would indirectly change the stance of your central bank toward cryptocurrency. Why don't you try courting influential personalities in your country that have contact inside the central bank. I am thinking of government officials. You might want to partner with them to lobby for a policy change within that powerful body. Or perhaps tap other people who could gather together those powerful central bank officials in one table to discuss the pros and cons of crypto. Inviting charismatic crypto experts as resource persons would help. I think those central bank officials are just lacking knowledge and information about crypto.

That’s a tough job to do so, I mean I admire your guts and initiative on doing this and wishing you all the best for this one. If you have friends, relatives or know someone in Pakistan that knows and used cryptocurrency better to communicate with them and encourage them to support your petition. I didn’t know that cryptocurrency is totally ban on your country, but since the government wants to control everything then it will be hard for this case to be accepted. More to go mate, i hope the Pakistan government will be fair this time and hear the voice of their people.

Are you that renowned guy, Waqar Zaka? Because it says here that he appealed to remove the ban, right? I think that the text of the petition should contain some arguments like the fact that scam is something the community of Bitcoin users is also fighting against, that many people get scammed via traditional methods and yet it's not brought up as a reason to ban money or, say, email (a typical place to receive scammy messages). It should also mention the countries that have made positive decisions already and some famous supporters of Bitcoin, I guess. Good luck with this!

There’s really nothing you can do about ban on cryptocurrency in your currency. But, if you’re looking for an easy way to do that you should link up with someone that is in power and has interest in cryptocurrency, example someone in the house of senate.

Those are the kind of people that can get the government to listening to what they have got to say. And another thing is getting other bitcoin enthusiasts in that country to back you up and fight against the ban. But the most important thing is having someone in power on your side, if not it’s probably going to be a waste of time.

Hey waqar bhai hope you are doing great. I was talking with one of my friend in BCH community about it and searched google found you were the one who filed petition. I was thinking to engage some other influencers like Junaid akram , Rehan Allahwala ( both of them I know personally and I am sure you also) together we can make our voice larger enough to make a government who plan to grow on economy on chicken and their eggs to surely look at it and with this big noise coming from all over surely make government think that it would be best thing to do when they see money coming in from out side of country from our cheetas doing trading and all .

A friend in Pakistan complains of government unsupportive moves against Cryptocurrecy, but he still can buy bitcoin, he is not very good with cryptocurrency activities during the famous days of ICO, I found him online and would spend time teaching and teaching him how to avoid losses. I think their central bank feel the citizens of Pakistan don't know enough about Cryptocurrecy, so to minimize losses they place restrictions which is bad for the people, an educational program should have been held to improve the knowledge of crypto as a tool to fighting poverty.

I hope it gets legalized in your country though, but through that way it might be a difficult thing to grant though. Having someone known like the TV show host you mentioned could help but in the end, it is still up to the banks and goverment.
It is nothing different to people here in my country rallying, and not all of their claims get granted though.
If things get tight, you might just end up having personal transaction or using VPN but that might end up being worse in your end.
