To celebrate my recent win as 2019 Bitcoin Forum's Newbie of the Year (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5222643.msg53851983#msg53851983) I decided to do something fun for the community.

As a thank you to bitcointalk.org community, and specifically the collectables board (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=217.0), I have decided to make a unique folded bolivar art piece for one lucky forum member. Some of you may have previously seen my entry into the 10th Anniversary Art competition  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5193860.msg52793373#msg52793373) hosted by @theymos last fall. I submitted  this design (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5193860.msg53095690#msg53095690) for the contest. I have made several other pieces for other members of the forum and there will be a total of 16 in my first series. All pieces have been made with sets of cut and folded Venezuelan Bolivars and each has a Bitcoin public key QR code and private key under security sticker. I have not charged any one for these pieces, they are given away for fun and that is what I would like to do here as well as a thank you to such a wonderful community.


First come first served for this raffle. Winner will receive a custom made Bolivar Art Piece like above. Winner will not get any of the above pictured pieces, they are for example only and pictures have been used with permissions by owners. The winning piece will be the 11th in the series of 16, numbered no. a/16. It will be up to the winner to decide if they would like the popular BTC logo, another logo, random design or other (within the limits of what I can make). It can be generic, personalized or a complete mystery if the winner chooses.

Of note each piece comes with a unique BTC address. The private keys were created and printed offline, handled only by myself and all copies of private keys were destroyed after completion of each piece. The artwork does not come with any BTC loaded on the piece.

Free shipping to anywhere. As I am not charging for the piece or shipping I would prefer to ship directly to the winner. Packaging and shipping to US and International for these can easily be $50-100 or more and escrow requires I pay shipping twice. I will ship to escrow (such as @minerjones) if winner assumes cost of shipping from escrow location and pays any escrow fee. I will not be responsible for any lost item once shipped.

Only one spot per person please, no alt accounts or multiple entries. @teeGUMES is excluded from the raffle as they will be sent the 10th piece in the series, no. 0/16. This is to recognize the nomination they gave me, unbeknownst to me, for the 2019 Newbie of the Year (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5215097.msg53530125#msg53530125). Thanks @teeGUMES. Newbie accounts will be permitted to join, but only if they were created prior to February 2, 2020, the date which the 2019 Bitcoin Forum's Newbie of the Year (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5222643.msg53759410#msg53759410) poll thread was opened. This raffle is meant to thank existing members. I reserve the right to remove someone from the raffle if they appear to be taking advantage of a free raffle.

This will be conducted via standard 100 slot raffle like those previously held by members @korgothmanhattan, @anynomousminer, @hhampuz etc. Please PICK AN AVAILABLE NUMBER, NO RANDOMS. Randoms will be ignored. Once all 100 spots are filled I will choose and post a future bitcoin block number and the last two number digits in the hash will determine the winner.

If not, can you take a look? Is it feasible for this raffle?

I was unaware of this, not sure it is fully functional based on the thread, but also not sure how it would apply here? A giveaway of multiple items to multiple people with this system will create some anonymity, but with only one winner to ship the winning item to, that pretty much negates this. Escrow can help eleminate giving me your shipping information, but you would still have to provide it to the escrow shipper. There are several 1 time use information services for sending sensitive information such as https://iemsg.com or https://privnote.com, but then again you are trusting that a 3rd party is not saving your information as well? I guess if it is an issue of privacy and you do not trust me with your information, then my only recommendation is to not enter the raffle. I will have to send it somewhere eventually.

No, no it's not that. I don't trust anybody (and literally anybody), not just you (as should do anyone, privacy-wise).

But that's not the subject here. I was just wondering if this new feature can be applied also to raffles.

I fully agree and understand the privacy issues, not arguing this either at all.

If I understand the mechanism of theymos' give away system it is to un-link addresses from user accounts. This would function well if giving out 100 free stickers to 100 users. I would just get a random list of 100 addresses to send the stickers to and would not know which address was any particular user's. However with only one item shipping and only 1 winner, it would be painfully obvious who's address it was even if it was "unlinked" by theymos' redemption system. Furthermore, shipping a package (with some assumed value) requires certain information to send and receive in many countries. It would be very nice to maintain 100% anonymity, but when it comes down to it the package has to go somewhere to someone. Other solutions are 3rd party shipping receivers such as rental boxes, PO boxes, or figure out when your neighbor is out of town and give me their address instead then take it off their porch.

I am really very pleased that it arrived safely and you like it kurious. I am sorry it took a while to ship, but better safe than sorry with all the craziness in the world. Didn't want to ship it with such unpredictable shipping.

Hope people hang out in the collectibles section more, really a bunch of very cool people and neat stuff to share there. Who knows maybe will get some more art showing up there. . . stay tuned I guess.
