World Top Tech-giant Company Samsung has introduced the new flagship Samsung Galaxy S20 Smartphone, which will have a built-in crypto wallet.

Who is stupit enough to use built in wallet.

It is too expensive to be just a wallet, but the positive news is as a proof of acknowledgment that crypto exists and Samsung's classmates include it in its product means it's very positive

Yes it is expensive but the fact that samsung who is a big company have consider cryptocurrency in their product is such a big step for us because other companies will see it too and have high chance of adapting what samsung have done with crypto. Samsung always have it first in their flagship models so i expect to see that samsung built in crypto wallet in midrange or more affordable phones soon.

Personally I wouldn't use any crypto wallet that is not open-source and auditable. There are much better choices in the market that work on mobile as well. Samsung's initiative is good for adoption though as the wallet will attract a huge amount of eyeballs. Maybe I'd use its wallet but only for pocket change and coffee shop type of transactions.

I think that there enough better wallets on the market than this default one

It's kinda like a default application installed on the phone,  but yes, it's kinda scary since we don't know if the mobile application is safe or the mobile application is verified by the owner of that application. Like if they will put a pre-installed Coinomi wallet, it is still scary unless you will update or verify it to the play store first before using it.

Since I can download any wallet on my phone I don't see any reason to buy Samsung s20 just for the inbuilt wallet, doesn't make sense to me, how about wings mobile? Where you can earn on the phone and it has inbuilt wallet too and again the new 3FA security that is not popular yet

As long as the built in wallet supports importing of old wallets like imtoken I dont see much problem. Anyway, Samsung has jusr started and maybe they can improve more. I dont see the advantage of this wallet sincr the phone is quite expensive and people will likely turn into those cheaper wallet for crypto also those free one.

The only thing I like is that Samsung a giant tech expanding their horizon as well to blockchain. This is just a start, dont bash the product which is by far one of thr most sophisticated phone.

It will be wise  ;D if Samsung gives it users the access to private keys or recovery seed for the inbuilt wallet or else no one will use the phone to keep coins, moreover since it's an inbuilt wallet from Samsung themselves I find it hard to trust them.

I see this as mere marketing strategy. Since I can download any wallet on my phone there is no reason to buy Samsung s20 just for the inbuilt wallet, it does not make sense to me. It would have made sense if it was to earn free coins from it. Maybe minable on the phone and some amount can be mined monthly. This will make a lot of people rush at it.

The tech giants are gradually entering the field of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, surely Samsung will not want to fall behind. I think that in the near future we will see many other phone companies participate.

They implemented it because they are afraid of the missing huge crypto potential. More and more milenians are interested in cryptocurrencies and with the upcoming decentralized phones, the position of Samsung will be reduced.

I think this is a great start. Cryptocurrencies need such huge adaptations to reach to more investors.
Such brands will also be benefitted supporting cryptocurrencies and related projects. Next level of integration is coming soon I believe.

In any case, this is a good advertisement for crypto, which is good in any case. Although I'm not surprised that Samsung went this way. I think that in the near future, other large companies will also announce their plans in the crypto sphere.

A small step for us but an important step for crypto massive adoption, imagine that everyone will have pre-installed crypto wallet in a new mobile phone. Then it would be pretty easy to use it, to send crypto between new mobile users.  :)

So I need to spend $1000 or more for this phone to store these three cryptocurrency. Who will want to do that, when there are so many free wallets available in the market to store more than three cryptocurrency.

A hardware wallet will be costing me less than this phone.

This is really good news that a world-famous company like Samsung is offering crypto wallet! I have seen other news that Samsung will add PPT, BNB coin and some others! Though I will not use that, because I still believe there is no better wallet than a hardware wallet!

You got it in a wrong way, mate. You don't have to buy Samsung S20 ultra as a crypto wallet rather this smartphone is a gem and the best Android phone which can beat iPhone easily! Outside of crypto wallets, we have excellent technology from Samsung, and we can use our phones for many different purposes. If we only use phones to store cryptocurrency, I think it is not worth it, and I agree with you this is also very positive news for this market, big companies have paid more attention to this market.

really good indeed if it was successfully launched, but I think this adoption will start from the upper classes. because of course the price of Samsung Galasxy S20 which supports crypto wallet is expensive. but that can actually be a new breakthrough in the world of gadgets, because if Samsung is successful and many fans are using it is not impossible that other platforms will do the same thing.

None would actually buy this phone only because they want to store those above mentioned 3 coins. There are a number of mobile wallets which allow us to store more than 10 coins in a single wallet and it would always be a lot easier to simply download those wallets onto our device and in this situation, why would we even go for that wallet which is built-in and limiting to 3 coins only?

We might lose our security by storing funds onto any such wallet as they might be easy to crack and we might lose each and every coin on that wallet. I am sure majority of people would only buy that phone due to the latest features and processor speed which would make the phone super fast. Most of the Samsung devices lack in their performance so I just hope that this new flagship device would not be like those.

a progress that deserves support, but it's true your word might start with the upper class, because the price of the device used is quite reliable. might also anticipate things that might not be good. but frankly, I still prefer to use a laptop for each transaction because it might be more satisfied and feels safe, and unfortunately at that price, it can buy a laptop that is good enough

Having a wallet that you can be bought anywhere you go seem to be a great tool for comfort. Like me, I would be worrying  every time I left my laptop at home while my coins are stored in that laptop and this is the reason why I'm using Samsung phone to where I install wallets like Electrum and coinomi.
I even install EOS wallet and TRON wallet too.

What could go wrong though is that if your phone will be lost. I have a bad experienced like my phone died. So my advice is to chose a Samsung phone where you an replace battery yourself. The phone which  you can open the back yourself and replace battery. Samsung phones these days aren't that easy which you will needs someone to open it for your just to replace battery and its not easy because just by opening the back of samsung phone you can damage LCD.

Build it wallet might not actually be what most of us want here. We have our own desired wallets and we would not simply shift onto a new wallet only because we bought a new device. Samsung is taking a major step towards adopting the cryptocurrencies but what I think is that they should start accepting crypto payments onto their online store and official local stores.

This would be a great start to start implying crypto payments and also many people might than go for Samsung only because of their eco-friendly nature with cryptocurrency payments. Samsung might fail by just launching built-in wallets. I'm sure the price for Samsung S20 would be way higher than the current highest value mobile device.

That's great that Giant company Samsung showed their interest about crypto currency. It's a positive news for crypto industry actually. Many big company (like Samsung) are clearly understand that how much important crypto currency for digital financial. They are recognize that crypto is the future finance that's why they are added crypto feature in their product. That's really a big achievement for crypto industry i think.   

Now the other point is how much secure those wallet for random people and are those products available for everyone..? Cause at this moment trust is the most sensitive thing in crypto market so obviously people will expect from them more security for their asset. I think it's just a start for a new era. Woow, finally the long-awaited Samsung phone embedded with a cryptocurrency wallet is here! I remember read about this story last year and i am glad Samsung has kept to their words. I can't wait to hear what Apple has to offer or have they made any announcements regarding the creating of a cryptocurrency wallet in their next releases?

well indeed this can be a new breakthrough that can make many people and many users can get to know cryptocurrency deeper and of course this will provide good news for the coin mentioned because it will certainly have increased transactions because for smartphone users the potential to make purchases using cryptocurrency supported.

But we have to consider how expensive it is and how dangerous to carry a crypto wallet in our phone. Remember there was reported sim attack recently so I would advise someone to store there coins into a mobile phone wallet.

Yes, expensive or not, this move shows that they are acknowledging the significance of crypto and for those who can afford this gadget, they will learn about the existence of crypto without putting so much effort in it. This initiative aids in crypto adoption and I think, sooner or later, other mobile phone companies will follow thru and in the very near future, I believe, this built-in crypto wallet will be available in much cheaper smartphones. Though, for me, I will not really store coins on this one if I have this smartphone because of security risks, still this is still good news in crypto. Ambition? I dont see Samsung will only be a small fry in blockchain. Their addition of built in wallet shows that their are interested in venturing too. Who knows maybe they already made one and thinking of releasing it. You know how innovative Samsung when it comes to tech. Apple on the other hand doesnt need this kind of tech on r maybe id Samsung deploy already and incorporate it to their phones maybe Apple will think over especially if the sales will be gone up due to this.

I heard this news since last year but this smartphone still not launched yet until this year and at the article i could not find what features which available on the smartphone besides the wallet because wallet build in is not enough to attract people to buy and if it for the wallet purposes only then there are so many third party apps which have good security system for crypto wallet so do not have to buy new phone if only aiming crypto wallet features

We know the hype of a build-in wallet in a Samsung surely having this wallet could be a great experience than just a normal wallet that you could download aside from optimization from the smartphone itself.

The wallet is not all in one like coinomi wallet, it's limited and moreover who would buy a very costly phone for crypto wallet only when you can get cheaper phone and download wallet on the phone?

It's not about stupidity.
The bottom line is that for people like housewives, schoolchildren, the elderly, it will be very comfortable and convenient.
Not all people want to check an open source on a github and compile wallets themselves, not everyone wants to search for original sites and download original wallets (and not fake with built-in malware) from there, etc.
And of course, the good thing is that this is another step in the global introduction of people to the culture of cryptocurrency.

It's really good to see a giant company like Samsung implementing crypto wallet in their smartphones, can't deny how happy I am about it and some other smartphone companies are joining as well like HTC, but the Samsung s20 smartphone is costly as hell, I can't even afford to buy so it's better to stick with my phone for now, if I could earn using the S20 it would have been a plus to buy it

Yeah, that's a comfortable answer i guess. It's a generous thing that well known tech company showing there interest about crypto. It's our duty to welcome them with positive way. And hope other organization also take such a step like Samsung did and help people's life to more easier and secure.


There are such huge a community out there whom saturated with crypto industry. And every single day that community is growing with dignity. So there is no surprising thing if Samsung make their product more popular through crypto lovers. And i guess it's not the only thing they assume. They very much know that crypto currency is the future. So it's a better step for them to occupy them self earlier in crypto market.

At the moment am glad that top giant cooperation like Samsung is seeing what the future holds for cryptocurrencies and are now seeing the need to start adopting it in one way or the other. and hopefully, smartphones with built-n crypto wallet be more economical in the coming days. because right now, the price of samsung galaxy s20 is ridiculously high. you can already buy MacBook that will take care of your bitcoin core wallet. only those in the upper class can buy this phone so the mass adoption is really not yet massive here. if they can integrate it to more economical smartphones, it will drive adoption. but for me, I still prefer to store my coins in my own wallet. maybe for short-term needs, you can transfer some to your phone wallet.

That was really a big news because imagine, one of the largest company of mobile phones in the world which is Samsunghave already considered and recognized the essence of cryptocurrencies and that is why they have decided to accompany it to build the latest feature of their newest model of mobile phone which is the Samsung S20. I like that it's Samsung that's giving access to the people who doesn't have enough idea what crypto wallets are. They're opening an entry for them to know about it and to those S20 owners that are curious of knowing more about it.
They have the means to use and access it as if it's their actual wallet but I don't advice it for safekeeping.

First, the unit is too expensive, and 2nd I would prefer to hold my wallet in private and not in my phone.
It's quite good as an addition but what really makes that phone expensive is not the built in wallet but good to see they are adopting.

I wish there was not covid-19 right now, this news could have somehow result to a positive movement.

The impact produced by the Samsung action will not have a significant impact on the world of cryptocurrencies as a whole because they only know but will not use it, I would expect Apple to implement the action of the blockchain wallet on iOS to make a more significant impact than Samsung.

Its a development in crypto adoption. But you have every right not to use it. I'm using TRonlink to play games, not that I trust the wallet but I'm just playing casinos. The builtin wallet of S20 is probably just the start, there will be more wallets that you can just install though if you have more trust to the devs in the googleplay store.

It's cool to see a well known mobile company supporting crypto but that phone is too costly for average people, many can just get a smartphone and download multi wallet but it's good to start see Samsung and HTC implementing crypto wallets in their phone

As of now, there's none because the entire world is still facing a pandemic but we'll see it once the pandemic's gone and everyone is looking back to the comeback of the markets and one of it is Bitcoin and the rest. Good idea about Apple because it's a fairly known brand in the world and many users are loyal to the brand. Maybe yes if they'll turn the table if they will start showing people that they have an interest to cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

we know Samsung do make great phones but to be honest they are mostly overpriced, and the worst part they release new phones yearly making the previous ones unworthy :D
And as for the wallet, i think most crypto newbie will find it more useful and convinient because they are saved the trouble of getting a separate wallet, although left with limited choice, but yeah i think it is a great idea and a way of creating crypto awareness to many samsung users.

I use the Samsung Blockchain Wallet and I never had any problems.

If this is true then Samsung is taking the initiative by adopting blockchain technology because ai remember this being rumoured to be on the S10.

This will make it easy to onboard more people into the cryptocurrency space by creating further awareness. I look forward to it being officially released. I believe this will be a bold move on the part of Samsung, cementing it's position as a leading brand within the blockchain space also.

Very curious about the reaction of the wallet user if there is a loss of funds and the response from the Samsung team, whether they are responsible for the loss felt by the user of their wallet or they will only use classic reasons like "The wallet is yours, Samsung has no access rights or things anything related to your wallet is beyond our responsibility "

I wonder how many people actually use these embedded wallets to me they do not look safe because i like to hold my private keys with me all the time, there are also some browsers that offer built-in crypto wallets. I would love to know the stats about how many people use these in-app kind of wallets and worth how many cryptocoins are stored there till now?

I think that this is another step towards general use of crypto, everyone that will buy the S20 smartphone will know about that wallet, even if they do not use it, or if it has some risks associated with it, it is still good news that a giant like Samsung bothered to include crypto on their top-line model...

It's only providing the wallet for the crypto users and no more. I thought that you have not yet tried this and it has nothing to do with the adoption of blockchain. As far as i know if this is the only feature provided by Samsung to its galaxy users and you will not find this in another device other than galaxy series.

It's definitely not a rumor. It is on both of my Note 10+ and S10e. The private keys are stored in a separate chip that only the Samsung Blockchain Keystore app can access. Once you get the Keystore security setup, you can then let it create the wallet seedphrase for you or you can import your own (per BIP39). The Samsung Blockchain Wallet is the app interface you use to manage your bitcoin. It gives 3 suggested transaction fees based on transaction time, but you can set a custom fee if you want to. It uses SegWit addresses (not native SwegWit, but you can send to them). They do allow you to store alt coins, but I only use bitcoin and it works pretty good. what does it mean by built in wallet? it could mean that it's a wallet app pre-installed but you can always install it from playstore. Its good to hear that these companies are stepping forwards in adopting blockchain but at the same time hardware wallet is the best way to go and I am not sure built in smartphone wallet would be a good place to store your bitcoin

The phone comes with a separate hardware chip inside. The Samsung Blockchain Keystore is part of the OS, not a separate app you can download or delete. This controls the hardware chip. The Samsung Blockchain Wallet app I think might have come pre-installed, but you can download it from the Samsung Galaxy Store (it is not on the Google Play Store). You can download the APK from other sites though, but I would only get it from Samsung.

Samsung's Blockchain SDK hints at being able to connect to a Ledger with an OTG cable, but I don't know if that has been developed yet.

Samsung integrating native wallets on theie devices woll make increase the popularity of cryptocurrencies within thr Smasung marketbase. However, I think there could be potentisl downsides with the idea. Can identities not be tracked or mapped to adresses since the wallet will be coming preinstalled?

This is a pleasant news to the crypto world, though this can only be reliable when it is actually implemented.  But for this tech giant at least to give crypto recognition, then it is a boost to the crypto industry and we expect more recognition also from other tech giants too.

That might be an issue. I think you have to sign in with your Samsung Account on the phone in order to use the hot hardware wallet. I guess this would mean the wallet and your Samsung Account could be linked together in some way.

The wallet that has already provided by samsung is only for the samsung phone and it's not available on the playstore and if you didn't believe it and you can check it.

For sure it is good for massive crypto adoption, but we have to ask if their wallet will be transparent, I mean cryptocommunity is paranoid and that is okay when it comes to money.

Signing up with Samsung account means its like a cloud. The flappening is a nightmare for those who had upload their photos there. Its a reminder that something that is up there in the cloud is not safe.


You can't take their word when they safe its transparent and safe. Just install whatever is best and are tested by most to be the safest. Tronlink seem one of it. I have not yet created but I would assume already that they have an android version like every developed wallets.

If you don't have Samsung S20, then buying it for use mainly as a crypto wallet would be a very expensive wallet alternative. But if you already have it, then this feature would be a good thing. Although I question its security. Anyway, this adaption by a very big smartphone company only means that crypto is getting mainstream and gaining mass adoption. Yeah, Samsung states they don't store your private keys and it is up to you to keep your seed phrase safe. I haven't had any problems and I have been using it for 8 months now. I'll report back here if I run into any problems with their wallet.

Are those wallets really safe? Right now we have a lot of good wallets on our phones to use, like truswallet ... So we don't need the same integrated wallets, but it's also a great action by Samsung, they have entered this market

This is not very effective for Samsung S20 marketing...
I am a loyal Samsung user, currently, I use S10 but I still save Bitcoin by installing the Electrum and Blockchain.com applications. I don't need to have to buy a Samsung S20.  :D

Your S10 should already have Samsung Blockchain Keystore depending on your country.
