While Ripple isn't very popular right now, it is still being traded near the top of some exchanges. Bitfinex - https://www.bitfinex.com/ - shows XRP (Ripple coin) trading around $00.2391, with a volume of over $8 million within the last 24 hours.

You should check around regarding how to access any XRP that you think that you might have lost, and how to access your Ripple wallet to move those coins elsewhere, and how to trade them if you want.

It is true that the Ripple leaders made money off Ripple. If you want to close out your Ripple wallet, they will not let you remove the last 20 XRP in the wallet. If they can't access those coins, the fact that they are frozen increases the value of XRP all around. This might be the only thing that you can really sue for... except that you should have read the fine print when you got your free XRP in the first place.
