Title: Any shipito users?
Post by: OmegaStarScream on March 02, 2020, 01:29:33 PM
I've been using Shipito for a couple of years now, and I've never had a problem with them.

The last time I used the site was like a month ago, and I was able to deposit bitcoin just fine. I just logged in and it appears that it's no longer  (https://i.imgur.com/9L8dhxo.png)possible. Any thoughts? I couldn't find any official announcements about it.

I kept coming across the same support rep whenever I used the live chat, and he said he doesn't have any information yet.

Anyway, I wrote an email to them instead, and I have been told that bitcoin should be back soon but they're not sure when.

For anyone interested...

They added bitcoin back but unlike before, BTC is no longer available for everyone. I could be wrong, but this might have something to do with BitPay's (https://support.bitpay.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000123366-Why-can-t-I-use-BitPay-s-services-in-my-country-) restrictions.

Workaround: Head to your account settings (https://www.shipito.com/en/account/settings/account-info) and change your country, doesn't matter which one, just make sure it's not on Bitpay's banlist and you're good to go. If whenever you try to make a deposit, you get stuck on "loading" or the invoice is not showing at all, you will need to change your IP address (preferably to the same country as the one in your account settings).

Also (if you're from the banlist):

- Don't use the 'Assisted purchase' feature. You will (100%) be asked to verify your identity.
- You can be asked to submit your documents at any time. I have been using the site for two years now, and I was never asked to, but it's definitely something to keep in mind.

I'm only suggesting doing the above if you have a package stuck in shipito's warehouse and you have nothing but BTC to pay with, otherwise, finding an alternative  (https://talktopoint.com/package-forwarding-sites/) would be better.
