Title: Fire prevention and preperation
Post by: mackminer on November 19, 2011, 03:24:05 PM
Hi,
I'm running alot of kit and am just wondering what people are using regarding protecting their assets from potential fire.

I need to get a CO2 fire extinguisher anyway but I'm just wondering what else. I have a fire alarm and a heat alarm also. These two alarms are fairly cheap ones though.

Thanks  :)

I run 10 GHash/S and have been worried about fire as well. I have melted many many things but thank god these things are designed not to burn.

Floor is tile and wall is concrete so nothing much can rally happen.

Mine is 8GH/s and it's a constant worry. I have the cost of the equipment added into the house insurance but I need to call them back to make sure they will cover such a setup running in the house.

The only thing I can think of is the CO extinguishers. Those FM200 units like they have in data centers and business server rooms are very expensive. I think I was quoted at least 8000 euros for 2metres x 2metres.

It's called insurance. Personally, it's in the back of my head all the time. I imagine what my new house will look like

Good man, I never thought of that  ::)

Enjoy mining out of your hostel room while you wait for your new house to be built.

If you have this worry then its not work a risk. You do know about risk and return dont you? or you're making a thread asking about it too?
