Title: Have you heared about Monero 2.0?
Post by: Connor LC on March 11, 2020, 03:09:21 PM
I found a new project in Medium!!!!

Called Poporo  ???

XMR 2.0    ???

The title is interesting.
A Mysterious Algorithm Will Replace RandomX Quietly? ;D

"Poporo is a hard fork from Monero, a completely different idea was chosen to solve the ASIC resistance problem of Monero’s POW algorithm. This method takes advantage of the high security of the BTC network and increases the security of the entire network without losing the advantages of decentralization and anonymity of the Monero itself.
Poporo hopes to bring a more secure and completely anonymous cryptocurrency that can be used in various payment scenarios and avoid all possible censorship."

If you are interested, you can click the following link to Medium.  :o

There is the other article.

The author is great and gives me a high impression.  :-*
Because he/she has a very fair and unique opinion about POW and POS consensus algorithms.
I can feel the author's sincerity in the words.

How did you find it out on Medium? Honestly, if it's not called Monero 2.0 then it's not. I'm not updated with such forks with Monero these days but I don't think that fork will be supported by the majority.

I too looked for it but didn't find anything with the name poporo or Monero 2.0. Monero is an open source project on git and it's not difficult to fork. The difficult task is to keep running the coin. There are many failed attempts to for monero and other popular cryptonight as either they failed to operate or get any attention from the community.

called "POPORO" sounds like an animated cartoon  :D

I don't seem to understand Poporo's true purpose, and just as I looked at the website it didn't seem convincing, nor did I find the team behind the project. yeah maybe if it's still the initial introduction phase it's not really a problem for me. But it seems that there have been many Hard-forks from monero coins, but in this project Poporo did not really understand because I was not very familiar and trying to find information I did not get anything. search for "poporo" in google search, it is an animated cartoon movie that appears.  :D

They have launched in silence there's hardly any noise on this fork checking their website many page and links are not clickable they are in a hurry to launch it, OP is right in asking if we know this project, because honestly majority of the people do not know of this fork.
