I've been busting my butt trying to get a wallet built for Mac but for some reason cannot get past building the clang-3.3 dependency for boost. I've tried downloading precompiled binaries already and followed instructions on un-tarring them but to no avail. Doesn't mean I'm giving up, though.
edit: trying a more up to date VM. This means I have to start all over, though.. Takes a day to compile deps. Mac wallet will be here eventually. I'm discovering it's a herculean effort just to configure a build environment on mac. Takes less than 5 minutes on linux. I try to log into my panel and it's telling me my account is blocked due to a billing issue. So I go into the support page and see a ticket telling me "thanks for sending my identity information, we also need a scan of your ID" and to email it to them. I figured since they shut me off because of the ID thing they surely wouldn't turn me back on while my account is past due, but not long after I sent them a photo of my ID, bam, they turned it back on and just reminded me of my bill. I'd say that's a little bit above and beyond expectations, to say the least. So, I've got to give them props for that! The shutdown did murder the DB in one of my other pools, though... It shows the network is on 6133.. Well 6133 is the last block my pool solved, but also the current block? Strange.. I've reindexed the blockchain up and down and sideways and still coming up with the same result.. I think there's something funky with the Getnextworkrequired retarget function, I've been digging in the source. Not sure exactly what's going on but the debug log really looks strange. At the least we may need a checkpoint put in.

I know that most of the pools are gone and I'm pretty sure that mine was handling most of the network load when everything stopped. I'm still learning C, mostly by tinkering, so there's still quite a bit in there that I don't understand, but I'm able to mostly follow what the code is doing. In main.cpp I'm suspecting there's a problem in the stuff from line 902 to 1024 somewhere, particularly the following:

Plenty of buy orders, while it may not be the optimal price, they're buying, and net hashrate is going up. It's showing symptoms of being stuck again. Net hashrate is sitting at 2.41MH and isn't fluctuating, just like last time, and the network should be eating a block every 3 minutes or so. Sucks, I was enjoying selling a few. I'll keep an eye on it.

No, it does't actually break anything in this instance because all the other references to THREAD_ADDEDCONNECTIONS have been similarly mangled into THREAD_ADDTESLAONNECTIONS. Cheers, Graham It was just a "putting my eggs into one basket" kinda thing, because resources were tight at the time and I was expecting a rough launch for octo. Didn't see Pandacoin going anywhere, boy was I wrong.. I haven't opened up new pools for a while, but after I get some of my projects taken care of and clean house (my servers are all just a huge MESS), I'm looking at a couple things to open pools for and may indeed jump back on the PND train. Tesla has been fun but there just doesn't seem to be interest or support anymore and I'm not sure if the time investment of fixing it up will pay off. I could be wrong though, I was instrumental in the re-release of birdcoin and it's doing well now. |
