Dow jones just ended the longest bull run in history which turned into the fastest run into a bear market (18 days) since 1931.
Crypto is also experiencing a major hit with blood red numbers all over.

It is obvious that Corona is the reason behind it (with a extra spark from the oil turbulence this monday)
The world i going into panic mode with flights cancelled from Europe to the US, Italy in lock down, social gatherings stopped in a number of countries.

Read in a previous thread "Do not blame Corona", how could you not?
What other drivers would that be?

I do not see this being over soon, the question is if the financial and crypto market already included that in the current price levels or if we will continue to freefall?

It seems like the media aren't helping at all, they are the reason there is panics all around the globe right now, more over how many stock holders or crypto holders died from Coronavirus if I may ask? I guess none so why all this?

The corona virus is devastating the price of cryptocurrencies, crude oil and stock market. Some people said there could other reasons of the fall of cryptocurrencies. It can be an indirect link to corona because investors can think that people will trade cryptocurrencies  for fiats in oder to be secured against the virus. As the market is declining, other investors are converting there cryptocurrencies  into fiat or stable currencies now. So, in my opinion, the fall of market is directly and indirectly linked to corona virus outbreak.

The panic will definitely continue to exist because the corona virus has existed in various countries so there is a lot of news everywhere so that the panic will continue so even I see this news on TV every day.

I do not know whether crypto is the cause of all this because no one has completely denied the cause of the corona virus.

Of course, if the global economy is paralyzed because each country has been affected.

The Corona effect and pandemonium isn't over yet as more casualties are recorded on daily basis. More victims of Corona. This drop wont end until we see to the end of Corona. The cryptocurrency as a whole is being affected closely same as the stock's market. Even the gold and oil market isn't in exemption as they all collectively suffer from this outbreak. We can only be hopeful that this ends soon.

Really hard to tell at this point, every time we see new cases being reported by the media, it seems that all the global markets react. Currently, the price is around $7300, just 24 hours ago, it looks like we have survived and bounce back already because we touch $8k. Although it is not the only factors, there is the oll war as well, triggering another set of sell-off around traditional stock markets.

So for now, nothing is certain, everyone is taking precaution, as much as we don't like to see a market bloodshed, it might continue in the next couple of days if the epidemic is not contain.

See the current market conditions only need a few hours bitcoin down to $ 6200 maybe this is a big impact on the stock market so this is a whole including the global market too, really worrying if the crypto market is still like this in the next few days.

Maybe many people are better off preventing and holding real money than in shares or other crypto. The market is now unstoppable.

i had made mistakes in decision making because i supposed to withdraw last week but i denied and now?all i can do is Buy again but cannot sell since this is very bad market to sell off.

maybe you have read it but I just expressed my opinion, actually this looks like a conspiracy that occurred between large countries. We certainly remember how the stock market crashed in 2018 and continue to this day where big investors in the US came out, even though Trump had already anticipated this.

Then the situation continued when the issue of American conflict and Iraq could create an issue that is not good for the global economy. and now we have clearly seen how the corona virus so makes the world panic. the airline that has received the impact. it may take up to 1 year to find the vaccine.

here I do not want to say that the virus is the only problem of the world, but the economic impact after this event that looks very "sequential" from 2018 then until now. just imagine if as long as the corona virus is still around, say for one year and all import and export activities are stalled, the country will experience chaos in terms of staples and that will result in an increase in the selling price of goods, and a decrease in purchasing power for goods so that there will really be a crisis. maybe it can also have an impact on the crypto market too because if the economy goes down, the purchasing power of crypto will also go down while the selling power will definitely go up.

I'm in the same boat as you being more or less fully invested. I'm being hit hard both in the crypto market and in the stock market. Feels awful to sell now, at the same time I think this will continue.

It's going to have an effect for quite a long time IMO. The same thing happens with fiat, but nobody talks about it.. or at least it happens here in Romania. Didn't food become more expensive in the past few weeks in your country too? That's fiat losing its power, which is exactly the same thing as Bitcoin losing it. I've calculated the expenses a 4-person family must make in order to be +90% prepared for a pandemic. It's huge and a lot of people do not have enough money put aside to spend on prepping. Wait for this hysteria to calm down a bit and we'll most likely see opposite (positive) changes.

One of the worst day in crypto I would say, two days ago it was S&P who suffered the most of this epidemic and then crypto today. We can't tell when this is going to stop, bitcoin -20% and ethereum -30% and the bloodshed still continues as I type this message.

We might see another downward spiral and no one can tell when this panic selling will stop. The only thing we can do is wait and hope, and just HODL and don't panic and let everything settles down.

Yep, personally i'm planning to buy some crypto considering it dropped so fast. Normally when a flash crash happens, there's a bounce back upwards, but I do have to say it's pretty alarming to wake up to a -30% drop in Ethereum when I check my wallet(s)

If it goes back to $3k-$4k then that would be an ideal buying point imo, especially with the halving coming up pretty soon

This is all more to the conspiracy of real economic competition, so that it penetrates into the realm of crypto, because large investors are afraid to make new investments in crypto, and they also prefer to pull all crypto assets into tangible form.

Why does it matter if the stockholders or crypto holders per say are dying? It's affecting the market. Businesses cannot continue with their operations, people isolate themselves (=do not spend money in the same way), stores and shops closes, social events are cancelled, people don't fly.
A lot businesses will go bankrupt because of this, and a lot more will see significant impact on their Profits. Of course this should have an impact on stock prices. A bit unclearer however why crypto is being hit as hard, but I guess they are just dragged along.

Yep many are predicting the market will go down in the next few days to support 4500 $, I'm a little surprised to see the market down to almost 1000 $ in just a few hours and almost all crypto has decreased by 30% and there are even some that touch ATL. So now we can only hope that everything is finished quickly, including Corona Virus can be overcome and not spread again.

If the coronavirus is the reason why all cryptocurrencies price decreased, then where the user put their money? Money fiat? No, korea have burned their money fiat to prevent coronavirus. Or are you thinking that the user put their money into some stock? Then you are wrong as well. Most of stock exchange have been decreasing as well. I want to note one important factor. The crisis has long been outlined, but many "experts" said that this will not happen or will be, but not now. But as practice has shown, everything happened right now when no one believed in it. The Corona Virus will linger until the end of the year it was predicted by health experts, there were reports that the PLus Token scam dumping their their loot as the main reason they keep on dumping and many articles have covered it, if this is ture this is not goign to last long and the market will eventually recover, not good to create FUD.

We couldn't take media to being set aside nowadays that we're living in a whole different era, wherein people are totally dependent on such platform to gather some information, news, and etc. No matter what the result would it be, helpful or not, it is a fact that we are as well somehow being into it, it is what it is. Anyway, going back to the topic, I couldn't agree more to OP, yes, the virus cause itself literally do have the big factor here causing everyone to panic (well, who would not?) it is just that the people aren't prepared to this event, couldn't act properly that they tend to panic, that leads their behavior on becoming more selfish. What's worse than this? is not the virus itself, but the behavior human presenting.

The stock market is the most affected institution in this recent unfortunate event that happens globally called the covid-19 epidemic because the stock market listed companies such as oil, manufacturing, agriculture, etc it is the important commodities that commonly used by people worldwide. while the cryptocurrency market was also affected but I believe it is just temporary because cryptocurrency is using the internet as a medium to provide the functions so it is not necessary to go outside and make the transaction anyone can make a transaction in the comfort of their home thats why I believe it will be normalized soon.

The corona virus have no fault in this issue. All market included stock, gold and other has been decrsease when the media started to scared the world with their articles/news. I personally hate this news about corona its not that scary at all. I hope this epidemic end in short time.

I guess we are still seeing the drop in the entire crypto market. The level of panic in the industry at the moment is insane as people are much more concerned about the status of the virus and when it's going to be controlled. Some people can't go out to cash out of banks hence it is better to sell the cryptos and receive funds into your electronic wallet like paypal etc.

Just think of it as a continuous crisis but there will be a stop. When? I don't know, we don't know but I do have faith that sometime not that far, this crisis will be stopped and antidote will come. And when it's done, the world will start to recover, all markets will recover and we're all going back in business as usual.

My believe is that more and more states are moving towards lock down, like the US with the stopping of flights.

You are right. CoinDesk has claimed that the drop was most probably caused by a mass dump of cryptocurrency assets by PlusToken scammers and they have published evidence for their claim. That said, I am not saying that the Coronavirus epidemic has no role in the current bloodbath situation in the cryptocurrency market. It has played its role and there is a lot of FUD going on in the market right now.

I think everything is just beginning.

One thing I understand is, there is panic everywhere starting from what Coronavirus did, then over to the oil industry and now the crypto market. But however, in some countries there have been reports of people being stable from this virus, the question is why aren't the news flying around? Nevertheless, about the crypto space, there are speculations of course going around about a particular price of which Bitcoin will drop to before going massive prior to halving but who knows that will happen tomorrow. In my own opinion, the only way is to be steadfast in whatever trade we do, take adequate caution, make good decisions and so on; but one thing is sure, this phase will pass.

I personally don't think it's over just yet because many people have and are continuing to sell off their BTC out of pure fear, though I don't think there'll be another massive candle downwards again like what happened today. People are scared of investments all over the board and not just with crypto, and downwards pressure still remains relatively strong. The virus is still spreading over the globe, and I can only imagine it'll continue to spread in the short term.

I am not worried about myself, I'm not worried about my closest family. I do not visit my grandparent (only have one left). BUT, i am shit scared of what this society panic will cause in terms of economical consequences.

In the stock market, when panic hits everyone sells everything and prices drops. Even my "Health care sector ETF" which should be sky rocketing (right?) is plummeting. Shouldn't the health care sector benefit from this?

This is a pretty bad situation since Covid 19 affected various trading markets. This is a global problem and its effects are broad. Now crypto gets the worst impact, especially BTC, this is one of the biggest single-day falls Bitcoins during 2015-2020 (https://t.me/ico_analytic/1687). At the beginning of February, there were no significant effects like what happened on the stock market, but today this fear is really happening. Although it does not directly affect, Covid 19 really has a big domino effect on all economic markets, it is really worrying. But we must stay calm, don't panic. There is a possibility that prices will fall again, but there is also hope for a bounce, even though it has to be longterm, so let's be patient, hopefully halving the moment gives good hope.

The pandemic could have just been a coincidence. Some people might be taking advantage of Corona, to cause more panic, because they are looking for the opportunity, to keep buying low and selling high. I am sure no one would be able to predict where the price is likely to stop, most especially the lowest point before it picks up again. fIf it were to be corona, it would have caused a lot of dumps, the week it was announced. Rather, some were busy strategizing on how to use it to their advantage.

Not sure if the current crypto drop is due to corona or something else. Corona would impact the real world economy much more adversely than the crypto market.
With corona spreading in US and Europe the damage would be larger. US and Europe has been running on a built up system and if it gets destroyed, it would be hard for them to recover and could take years. China and other asian economy on the other hand if could contain the virus in similar way, would come back as a great economy.

The corona virus is like every other epidemic that has existed before now and after a while, they all passed away. In my opinion, the reason the corona virus is seemingly notorious is because of the excessive media publications which it has received. The virus is not as bad as they've made it seem and several persons have immunity which could surpass the virus. That explains why more persons are receptive to the treatment and we only have few severe cases. Please let's not be over hyping this corona virus, it would soon pass away.

In my opinion it is the low transaction rates in all aspects of trading. Because of a lot of country on the lock down. A lot of business is not moving so the trading is reduced the economy is down and the people is into rest. And scared and staying at home. I think there are chances to recover specially the bitcoin after the corona virus scare is over. I think all we should do is to wait. And be read we should take care of our self and our family. The virus made China to lock down some cities which means 0 movements, it been 2 months and lot of people still in home, this means no income and forced to burn savings.
no production in factory, no restaurants, no hotels, no transportation, no supermarket, etc. only authorized delivery can go around. This is the part in China.

Now for other countries like EU, 0 knowledge to take prevention from the virus. The arrogance made the people to get infected easily and in less than a month broke the numbers in record.

I don't think that it would be over soon but I also think that the market would be steady for a while.
Even if the virus gets cured the market wouldn't grow rapidly I think it would take some time before it goes up again.
For me I think the price increase is much more slower compare to price drop.

CoronaVirus defeated Fomo Halving in the coming May because in two months the halving would occur. All our hopes have been paralyzed by the corona virus outbreak because the price of BTC is down 20% more today. There is no certainty that this will continue or end soon because the price of BTC continues to fall.

But what is very visible at the moment is Fear of the corona virus, which causes factories and large companies to stop working, plus more because of the sale of bitcoin in large amounts, so that it makes all the prices of altcoin and bitcoin decline very large in the market.

Its just temporary I think. Its true that the virus has done serious impact on the economy and not just stock but also on our crypto asset. I am already sick with whats happening and seeing everyday from the social media about news on it. It is very difficult to answer at this question, but I think this is only the beginning and it’s better to prepare for the worst, but for now we just have to wait it all out and set yourself up for a positive future and a future without problems, but for now it’s just worth moving on to your goals.

Whether this is caused by the corona Virus spread which most believes it is, the main point is that some persons will gain while others lose. One man's meat here is another's postion.

Preparing for the worse is better to be in your mindset in case that the situations go deeper. Most of the time those who are well prepared are the

As crypto itself had a big loss in the past few days, its not expected that it will stop soon as this loss is cause by the COVID-19 panic.

As regards the drop in the price of crypto asset, I doubt CoronaVirus is really the cause, I see people panic selling because of fear, come to think about Cryptocurrency, this should have been the best time for more people and companies to look the way of Crypto because it doesn't spread virus like the paper note and one can safely use it across borders without limitations and need no physical middle man for conversion to the various currency of different nations. well its always connected price of the market will only be dependent on supply and demand .since they are many country affected there is a chances that they are much more i need in money in fiat . So other is selling thier coins and prefer to hold fiat money that they are able to use any time they need it. Even in forex and stocks market they are also connected to the virus if you check all of the graph history of every market its only start to decline when the corona virus outbreak started.

We are at risk of everything if this virus will continue and worst case scenario all of us will lose our jobs that's why hopefully they can find a cure to eliminate this disease, and if things got worse most provably we can see more bad figures coming unto these days.

well indeed all the collapse of cryptocurrency prices at the exchange place and the collapse of the world economy did occur due to the corona virus outbreak because with this there are many people who are afraid to trade and prefer to secure their assets in any way that they do not want to stabilize the risk of losing their assets and exchange all existing cryptocurrency assets for fiat money.

Most likely this is not over yet, the coronavirus panic is only starting in the the western hemisphere and while some measures are being taken to try to stop the spread of the disease most likely the virus will keep infecting people during the next weeks and this will create an even bigger panic and the markets will keep going down, personally I believed some time ago that at worst the price of bitcoin could go down up to 4500 and yesterday it reached 4000 for a short amount of time, if this continues I will not be surprised if we see another bottom at 3000.

I think that we are at the very first beggining because just now government s ordered crisis situations that means reduction in a production that means economic recession, fear of investment, decline in stocks, bonds, but also cryptocurrencies will be affected. Then we will see more loans and printing new money, which will lead into a hyperinflation and perhaps at this stage, the crypto will start to have a real value!

That has been the major problem if the medias, they created fear in the mind of the weak and try to distract the strong from their stronghold. This has been the issue affecting the global market where many things are currently taking place. The rate at which the entire financial institutions fell was amazing, even the said Bitcoin wasn't able to scale through this challenge too. Although, based on the restrictions place in some countries not to travel can be a helping hands that can be possible in handling coronavirus spreading. This will not last long, it will stay for the time being and not for long-term. Covid-19 is just for a short time.

My guess is current drop is nothing to do with Corona, this just a perfect theory to put it to. Whales are make you fool.

This is also possible but I still think that corona virus affects the market at least a little. The virus is not over yet, in my country we are on a community quarantine starting March 15 so technically my government is just starting to make action to prevent the virus from spreading. Stocks are declining, and crypto as well but I hope the trend to be change once we survive on this virus.

in my opinion the corona virus will not give a big enough impact for the middle of the year. because like most viruses that have shocked the world, they were only viral and tranding when they first appeared. and when all the news disappears, the world will return to their activities. crypto users actually do not need to be afraid of being infected by the virus because they do not need to leave the house to work, just in the house and in front of their computers.

This virus of course raised a big fuss around. It also dealt a big blow to the economy and various markets, including cryptocurrency. But this is not the end. The market will definitely recover, the fall will not last forever.

In the China situation become stabilized, but now the situation getting worse in Europe, so I would bet that we will see more dips in crypto, people won´t have money due to restrictions applied by governments. If this will not be contained soon, the economic condition of many countries will really go down as more and more businesses are affected. So the pharma industry are in a race to find the vaccine and cure for this virus. Whoever gets the first commercial vaccine out, for sure they will earn tons of money but hopefully, it will be effective in curbing the spread of this COVID. If you are talking about the virus the best solution now is the containment as there is no vaccine available in the market right now . The economic impact will be hard and a bit long lasting than the virus itself , I think it will continue for the next quarter . So be strong and keep hold of the stock.

Since the Coronavirus is still something new, it just appears 3 months, no vaccine against it. So the the situation now is very complicated and we can't know what will happen next. Italy and Europe are falling, world financial and crypto market will have high volatility these days.

The spread of this virus expands and ultimately affects the price of Bitcoin. Bitcoin's price drop in a day is able to reach 25% and I think a lot of people are losing money investing. I previously argued that this virus will not have a huge impact on crypto. Because with this virus many people will work at home and will be safer. And the best solution is to trade cryptocurrencies.

But WHO has announced that this virus includes a deadly virus. Many countries have stopped activities such as sports and tourism. So people today choose real money to shop for needs and medication to prevent Corona viruses.

Hopefully, this virus can be lost and crypto can also get back.

can't answer the question but during the co-19 pandemic the crypto market did fall and within a few weeks the market tried to get back on its feet. and of course because covid i'm not sure can go up and sure if this pandemic virus doesn't stop we will only see the circulation of crypto market prices go up and down, and when the pandemic ends i don't know.

Corona virus is indeed afflicting almost all over the world. This is very phenomenal news, causing economic and currency paralysis in various countries. but various experts from various countries have been looking for ways to get out of this problem, although only a few bright spots were obtained. but I am sure this problem will be quickly resolved so that the economy will return to normal

For coins that follow Bitcoin's price it's not going to continue.

I agree with analysts who say that Bitcoin has reached its bottom and we will not see anything below 4000 dollars ever again. This means that coins like BCH, ETH, LTC and other that tend to be linked to Bitcoin will not experience a crazy crash like last month. We can still remain in a channel and not see a real rally for months but we also won't face -50% again this year.

Corona will be over in 2 months that's my prediction for the virus.

I think that we will see the next strong price increase in November or December of this year. at this point, all classic markets should start to suffer very much and people will be looking for a place where safety to invest their money. at this time, banks will become bankrupt and therefore people will choose cryptocurrency.

it is only a prediction if the corona continues to be around the world but if the corona is successfully stopped then that will not happen, for now we can only help the government by following the rules to make a lockdown in order to prevent the spread of the corona. and hopes this will end soon so that the global economy returns to normal

the whole world is being haunted by a corona outbreak and we all don't know what this deadly virus looks like. so do not be surprised if people around the world feel panic & anxiety during the corona outbreak has not been resolved. if not mistaken like China (wuhan) has completed the corona virus and hopefully as soon as possible other countries affected will also resolve this corona problem.

People saying that media is not helping at all, what exactly do you want the media to do? Stop broadcasting news and updating people on Covid-19? I don’t see anything wrong with the media doing what they do best, it’s up to you yourself, if you feel that the media is affecting your life negatively, then I will advise you to switch off and stay away from it for sometime.

You should find something else doing , than surfing the net and expecting to see good news lol. And as for Bitcoin, it’s already getting back to the top, though there was a slight decrease this morning , but it is back up and I believe before tomorrow it might be back on 7,000 USD.

I don't really think the Corona drop is over .It is to early to say that the pandemic is yet to be over even though we see little improvement in declining the virus hope all things will be back to normal soon.It is not just the crypto-market that is affected by the pandemic even the world stock market is down.It is only after this pandemic that markets will recover.

That rate makes sense consider about bitcoin can still grow even more. People will not feel worried again to buy bitcoin when there was no corona virus. We will also facet the hype caused by the bitcoin halving.

Probably the halving will come but the corona virus will still stay, it's taking longer already, there is no cure on it, people are still suffering as they can't move now, they just stay at home fearing for their life as when they get infected, that's another problem as they could die.

There's a fear now especially in countries that are heavily affected, but it should not effect the value of bitcoin, in fact I believe that bitcoin will still rise even at this situation now.

The virus has hit the global economy, Global economy is just stuck only for this pandemic. you know that, most of the well-known cities are totally locked down now.  people are unable to do work. stock market has just fallen down. You can't neglect this, if this situation continues, there are awful times ahead for us in the future.

Since the arrival of covid-19, the global economy has been severely affected and millions of unemployed people have made it increasingly difficult to make money. I do not know what will happen next, but certainly investors will face a lot of new risks and this is a sign that the economy will be in crisis this year. Of course, I am also living a very difficult life and many of my family members also lost their jobs from this epidemic.

Virus has affected almost all the people in the world in some way or other and crypto is no different from this. This will continue for next couple of months as daily there has being rise on the number of positive cases including China as well. In fact, vacccine is the safest way to assess the current situation of the entire economy and hope that modern countries can solve this problem soon because everyone in the world is very hurry waiting. I just want my life back to normal because now I have a lot of financial difficulties and no one can lend you money during this time.

I think when corona slows down enough that people starts going back to work, stock markets will see that as a good sign and even before anything else happening it will go up.

Think about it, right now investors are reacting like the world is ending and they are not really all that wrong considering just under 2 million people are infected and over 100k people are dead and we are talking about 100+ million people all staying at home every single day (probably close to a billion now) so investors act like the real deal, however one day the virus will have like less than a thousand people infected and only few people dead which would be regular numbers and not really all that troublesome and there will be a cure or a drug, at which point the prices will start going back up.

There is no doubt that corona has really affected the performance of everything including crypto market. The way am looking at the rate at which the pandemic is spreading is not looking like it will be over soon and it may affect our expectation of crypto this year.

I think for now it's over. The market has been quite stable. Cryptocurrencies has not been running crazy as it was doing before now. During the time the coronavirus outbreak started spreading out earlier this year, the cryptocurrency market was fluctuating wildly and the price kept falling like crazy, but things have changed a bit right now.

I know that there are people here who are expecting the price to show signs by pumping heavily, but it doesn't work that way, things will go from step to step. And I don't even expect any increase immediately after the BTC Halving that is coming. If you check the last halving we had, you will notice that the price of the cryptocurrencies didn't pump immediately, it took sometime before that happened.

Now the epidemic situation is getting more and more unpredictable and we will surely have to live with it because now there are more than 2 million people infected and certainly in the next few months this number will increase much more than that. I think investing in the crypto market is the most reasonable option because this is being considered as a very popular place to make profits for everyone and the investment needs are increasing.

Major cryptocurrency events were being cancelled or postponed due to the spread of the virus and new restrictive measures put in place when the outbreak became very intense all over the world.
I think events are coming back to normal routine as cryptocurrency fluctuations have been reduced because I made a recent transaction with btc pair and for the time being of the transaction nothing was really lost. So hopefully before mid May, all sectors of the economy of the world will be back to its feet.

The economy was hit hard and the stocks suffers a lot, but crypto marekt was not affected a lot because we dump but we did recover easily.

Of course, and we can't say right now that the drop will not happen again, we just have to be careful this time, if you guys want to be safe, convert your bitcoin to stable coin but if you still trust, you should hold without looking back, bitcoin if it will dump again, it will surely rise at the right time.

The chances is still 50/50 as we don't have a control over the market but if the big investors will try to push the market upward then the crash of the market will be stop. The biggest drop has been done already because of corona virus so there is a very less chance that the market will continue to crash that deep again.

Upon checking the market, there are a little upward and downward but right now we are in green so we can say that the drop over will likely to be stop and it will not continue.

It will, but hey crypto-wise we're getting slight breach to 7k so that's quite nice for a recovery right now. Not sure when will this pandemic end, but from how severe it gets in my country, it seems like unlikely to decline right now.
Panics are quite common here right now, pretty much everyone especially in US could be selling crypto to USD when the virus hit the country.

last until June if situation demands (more cases, spreading). I think everyone waits this to end, isolation is hard
for many people! Thus many people lost their jobs and they can't work until pandemic ends.

Millions of dollar product is getting worthless because can't possible to deliver in right place. Not only Italy, several countries are now in lockdown. Directly all blame only deserve this Coronavirus. China did take the best steps and success, so sooner or later all country will recover. That time we will see how easily cryptocurrency recover every situation.
