Title: Steem community hardfork - Hive.blog will be launched on Friday
Post by: casperBGD on March 18, 2020, 02:23:39 PM
Steem community will launch a hardfork on Friday, to overcome issues with Justin Sun, after he bought stake from Steemit Inc in steemit.com social network, and all existing steemit users will receive mirror airdrop on hive network, and new networks will be independent from the hive mainnet launch, all information on following link

https://hive.blog/communityfork/@hiveio/announcing-the-launch-of-hive-blockchain

stakes from exchanges that took part in emergency hardforks will be void and null, and will not receive airdrop, as well as main steemit ninja-mined stake, that was part of the sell, by Steemit Inc.
hive promised that network will be open for development, has currently 30 committed developers, and will be decentralized forever

edit:
in this red market, Steem took a way up, with 50%+ rise today, due to fork on Friday, and reached position 53, nearing top 50 coins after two years being closer to position 100

I see that 50% rise today but it looks like a trap, it already is going all the way down, maybe wait for tomorrow and then ride the wave. Hard forks is a great way to get new coins. And a great business opportunity, so i will keep an eye on that coin, thanks for sharing the info mate.

An wise man once said - never underestimate the power of common man! The upcoming steem hardfork is a perfect example of this statement. Community didn't like that Justin Sun acquired steemit platform and they are now moving away to a new platform.

Decentralized world is full of surprises and truly proves that majority always wins! I too am waiting for my hive token!

^ I think Justin already expected this kind of move even before he bought those stakes. Whatever the "opposition" does, he will still get what he wants (control over the steemit platform). It will still have old users and those who left will be replaced. I'm curious what he will do next.

It's good thing that the community decided to hardfork Steem and make it decentralised. But I wouldn't suggest anyone to buy steem now for getting the free airdropped Hive tokens. I'm sure that CZ and Justin would heavily manipulate the prices of both the tokens.

Well said, the pump is a trap and people need to watch out, buy the rumour sell the news. I don't know how the Hive tokens price is going to be sustained, time will tell because Steemit has the name working for it and it is a go to platform  for most people, if Hive can draw 50% of Steemit users that would be a great feat to start with

Nothing will change with steemit it will still have new users registering daily and new contents will come out daily. Those who will leave it have to again start a fresh and struggle to setup a new brand. This was a very calculated move by Justin sun, I am sure he knew this would happen.

Wow, so, is this the reason why is Steem price increasing drastically this time? It is about 67.91%.
But, can the hard fork make the price reaching the highest one? We noticed that the price reached its best time in January 2018, the rate at that time hit almost $8. But now, the price is still around $0.216129 USD.
May it needs more hype in order to make this coin blow up again and get more attention from the token holders, investors, or event traders.
In many cases, hard fork f a coin should result in a good point, however, some previous coins also do the same and they were likely not that luck, the hard fork didn't make very well increase. Can this Steem hit the best price?

Well, whatever the reason behind the increase in the price, we must be more careful in deciding whether the coin is really promising or not. Hype may be only still a hype. It may be a trap, but it may be also true at all. That is why let's follow the progress while analyzing every possibility of this coin, or maybe other coins.

lol that's true and let those who are buying at the late game will be regretting their decision to buy stem to get this hardfork coin. The manipulation will be done even by some whales too. I guess if justin will also take the advantage from this hardfork.
Buy steem at this time just like a way to burn your money to the hell.

Its not that they will totally leave but surely the new fork will be prioritized by old members since they dont want the steemit co owner Justin to manage the steemit. But an increase on steemit is probably due to the fork of new brand, Im sure old members bought to take advantage of this, then dump after the new platform is running.

New and existing members are probably wants to benefit on the new hive tokens. But will need to observed if the steem will dump after the new tokens are released.

Hope they resolve this issue and possibly strengthen their decentralization.  That problem is what happens when you allow wealthy investors to rule the consensus instead of community rules, principles, honesty, merit, quality, loyalty to community values/rules, loyalty to Blockchain principles/values,etc. If you make these things more important, I doubt investor will dare to risk using huge sums of money for consensus... because he/she knows it will be frequently frozen when rules are broken continuously... unless they'll start printing the money illegally from somewhere to game the concensus

Today I have finally accessed my account in Hive.blog. It seems like a carbon copy of my steemit account. As per the proposal, I should be receiving similar number of HIVE tokens as I have in steemit account. But I am not able to access my account as it is showing some XML error.

Can someone please help on how can I see my Hive token balance?

Or the best thing that users can do do is to move out from the Steemit platform entirely. I've seen the rise and fall of Steemit and I don't think a hard fork is something that the users can consider as a saving grace but having a new platform together with improvements from the previous system is something that the users will really like. It's just my personal opinion on that matter and I've seen infuential writers also not happy with the take over so maybe the best thing to do is to move a new platform not related to Steemit or Justin Sun.

it was all a plan to pump steem these days and Justin Sun knows it very well which is why he bought the coin from its previous owners. nothing is changing with the coin though it used to be centralized with other owners and now it is still centralized with a new owner while these owners are making millions from the pump and dump that happens during the transition :)

Don't worry and it has already started to go down again as soon as possible. The fact if this is a short term pump and manipulation that already made by the whales to attract the little shrimp to join in the market.
Again, pnd scheme that created by CEO of tron has already scammed so many people. The steem market is dying again and it may go to the next bottom level.

I would urge the existing Steemit users, not to leave the platform for hive.blog. Some surprises will come up from there and I believe it will benefit the old users more and there will be a way of attracting new ones. Hive developers, who perhaps sold the Steemit to Justin might think they are smart. Well, I still wish them the best. They too will definitely get theirs, but I am waiting to see what Justin would do.

I will see how the new platform hives fair and how many persons SUN will retain on the old steemit platform. Anyone that has a good incentives to users and good content creators may eventually have a better community and profitable coin.
