Title: Gold quickly becoming more scarce. Which will be worth more, Bitcoin or Gold?

Limited supplies and great demand can drive prices very high. Which will be worth more in a year, Bitcoin or Gold?

Gold in existence - since ages
Bitcoin in existence - 11 years running

If you still want to compare gold with bitcoin, it's upto you! Gold has been used by the banks worldwide to keep as a cash equivalent for unforeseen times. Bitcoin is not yet adooted by banks for any such reasons.

Looking at the current situation, Gold stays way ahead than bitcoin or any other cryptos to be considered as a safe heaven. Hope you have got your answer.

No one knows, and we can only speculate. What unit of gold are you referring to specifically anyway?

Anyway, one thing's for sure, bitcoin in the short term will definitely be more volatile and gold will probably be a lot better as a sort of "safe haven" than bitcoin, simply due to the fact that bitcoin's market liquidity dwarfs gold's market liquidity.

You already posted your own debate against your own statement. Bitcoin is simply young, but it's already a better safe haven than Gold. Self-sovereign, censorship-resistant, portable, borderless.

It will take time for everyone to see it.

In 2018 Robert Kiyosaki classified money in 3 parts saying we have Fiat, Digital and God Money.

He categorised Dollars, Yen and the likes which are paper money as Fiat. While he also categorized Cryptocurrency particularly bitcoin as Digital money. He categorised Gold, Diamond, Brass as God's money.

The main thing I learnt from him was what he said about Gold and Bitcoin. He said Gold will be a generational asset and wealth to him and that he has and will never sell it off but will pass it on to this children. He said he had about 3 bitcoin as at then and leaves them as pet in his wallet, saying Bitcoin is the future of money system.

Well which is worth more? I'll say bitcoin because of its usecase. Gold is just a store of value.

I want to see bitcoin and gold will be worth in the future ;D

So far, gold becomes stable than the other wealth component, and many people choose gold as their investment. But now, they can invest in bitcoin if they want, and they can have a chance to make a big profit if they can invest in both gold and bitcoin.

But we don't know which will be worth in the future.

I believe Gold will never get scarce because there are multiple places from where gold can be mined but bitcoin has only a limited supply.
If you see in the long term bitcoin will be the one which will be more scarce and not Gold. I am definitely not talking about any of them being a safe haven.
But yeah if you talk about calling it scarce then bitcoin will be the one which is gonna be scarce.

Also they say that the world's first trillionaire will be able to invest in Space mining and god knows how much gold will be available in space asteroids.

There are only 21M BTC, that should be more scares than Gold that there are gold mines everywhere especially in my country where small scale miners are doing in on thier backyard.

BTC will be fewer knowing Satoshi's coins are just there unused which were over a million. It can be used online which can be sent anywhere unlike Gold, its pretty clear BTC is going to more worth.

One will likely do better in time of choas and scarcity. In such time, I wouldn’t accept one. I would only accept currency I can do alot of things with.
I believe there are good physical alternatives to gold if it becomes unavailable. I would rather invest alot in "basic assets" that will sustain me & be very valuable in times of crisis, then use alternatives to gold as currencies.
If internet remains the way it is or becomes decentralized, I will use Bitcoin/crypto.

Gold could work fine in cities and town, that is if they(cities & towns) remain safe in time of choas

I don't know why people like to compare the scarcity of Bitcoin with that of Gold. What is happening to Gold now is one of the problem Bitcoin is solving, can you picture what would happen if you want to withdraw your Bitcoin from exchange and exchange start giving excuse

Yeah, the Gold. It's actually worth anything in the current scenario. I am focusing it more because of corona thing. Let's rethink it in different way. Gold is not much demanding right now because people have to think about their daily life survival in the lockdown situation. Thus, they will have only one option and that is to save whatever they have right now and not to invest in stuff like Gold. This will put down the value of gold a lot and one can easily make investment into it and wait for huge spikes in the next year. So this is like investing in the bearish market and once the demand is spiked wait for bull.

Bitcoin stays the way it is today. I don't see anymore fluctuations in it now a days. It has swiftly corrected itself to a rate which it had last week and thus doesn't show any progress in it.

Honestly, not going to lie, I'd just buy both.

Both have a form of scarcity. I would leverage Bitcoin for a digital storage method, and then gold for a physical storage method. Those people who buy gold in the form of ETFs where the gold is stored elsewhere make absolutely zero sense to me.

As for which will be higher, it's anyones guess. I can only assume that Bitcoin will most likely gain further due to it's higher volatility and dependence on hype. Doesn't mean it'll stay that way though.

We haven't realised that total supply of gold yet. Though gold is mined in finite numbers of mines, new gold mines are found every now and than. And the supply could be much more larger than we might be thinking. While on the other hand, Bitcoin would never reach 21 million in supply.

This has always been discussed in this forum. Gold will quickly deplete on the earth that we are mining but its value will still be dependent on how would the richest of the rich will see it. Right now, everyone's eyes are focused on derivatives and other new investment fads that were introduced in the market. Gold retained most of its value for over centuries, mainly due to the fact that almost everyone recognizes its intrinsic value. Aside from that, regulations are put into place to ensure that no schemes whatsoever will be used on gold to play with its pricing. On the side of bitcoin, it is poorly regulated, easily swayed by whales if the conditions are right and still is a young asset in the block. Of course, gold will win the safe haven game, but for gains, bitcoin clearly is the winner. In the long run, it would be bitcoin that will be the best performing asset there is, ever, alongside any other cryptocurrencies due to them being young and being susceptible to manipulation and whatnot.

Directly talking about price potential increase then theres no doubt that bitcoin would really have it but we know that Gold is much more preferred by majority.

People would stick out on traditional investments for sure but we know on what are the advantage in talks of bitcoin investment.

Why would choose among the two if you can have both?

NO YOU DO NOT KNOW that BitCoin will go up,  it could very well go to near zero.

Just a few weeks ago, NO ONE here would have admitted that the price of BitCoin would crash in an economic crisis, you would have all laughed at me, but here we are ..........

I have held BTC since very early on and some Gold.  Where I live people are stocking up on ammunition to barter with if things fall apart.  22 LR are extremely cheap right now but they may easily buy a dozen eggs each if things get down to barter level.  Hope none of us see the day that actually happens.  I will say I pick BTC over Gold because it doesn't have to be hidden and I can take it anywhere by simply having a computer in any country in the world.  Can cross borders, and unlike Gold, traveling (nomad) is a non-issue for crypto.  Its invisible at various borders.  How do you spend a Gold coin when you only need something of moderate value.  With BTC a satoshi or two can suffice.

In my opinion, it is wrong to pose the question: what will be more expensive, gold or bitcoin? What will we compare with - an ounce of gold with Satoshi or Bitcoin? We can only note the rise or fall of the price of gold or bitcoin for a certain period. Although I believe that these two financial assets are practically opposite in their functional capabilities and most likely, they can be considered as complementing each other, and not competing with each other.

Gold has been scarce from the very beginning. Otherwise, it wouldn't have become as precious. It is becoming scarcer, of course, but it is not exhausted yet from the depths of the earth after centuries or even millennia of people mining it. It is scarce in the sense that it is hard to extract. But it seems it is unlimited with gold mining still thriving until today.

Bitcoin, on the other hand, has a fixed supply. However, the circulating supply is decreasing due to forgotten seeds or passwords, mistaken transactions, dead owners, and so on. And so if the value assigned to gold will eventually be assigned to Bitcoin, and the rest of humanity will treat Bitcoin the way they treat gold, I would think that Bitcoin is going to become more precious than gold in the future.

There are advantages on both investments. If you want tangible asset, go for gold but if you want to risk some of your investments, buy some bitcoin. For me, if I have the resources, I'll get both. Remember the saying - never put all your eggs in one basket. So I guess, this is one instance where you can apply it - where to put your investments. I can't tell which one will be worth more in the future, but as much as possible, I want to have gold in my portfolio. This has proven by centuries already. You can never go wrong with gold.

There are an adventage and disadventage when you choose among bitcoin and gold.

Gold, will help you to store your money safely. You won't lose much although there is something bad come. But you will find disadventage when you choose gold, you can't use it as payment system, gold is gold never be money.

Bitcoin, you have a lot of risk when you put your moneyj here but you have a chance to double your money in a few times. Bitcoin has multifunction, you can use bitcoin as money and you can choose bitcoin as an investment place.

As for your question, I guess gold will be much prefer to be choosen by most people. They already known that gold is really valuable whilst bitcoin, its still new and just a few people who know it. But I think there are a lot of chance foe bitcoin be used by many people, time will answer it.

Bitcoin and gold are valuable investment assets. But gold and Bitcoin have many differences. The increase in Bitcoin prices is very unusual, but when reduced, the price is able to drop very sharply. It can make people go crazy when prices drop very sharply. As happened some time ago that Bitcoin was experiencing a very sharp decline. Whereas gold price movements are more stable than Bitcoin.

I personally prefer to trade Bitcoin. However when I have a great advantage of trading. The advantage I invested in gold.

I do think Bitcoins will be worth more compare to gold. When we are talking about the percentage Bitcoins is going to be earning more profit in the upcoming days .

Gold is more like a staple investment with  100 % sure results but there is still that line that they cannot cross , it cannot overshoot but Bitcoins can , that too very fast.

Gold isn't scarce--not now, not before this viral crisis, and it's not going to be anytime soon.  There might be crazy panic buying and some retailers might be having trouble keeping gold in stock, but I can guarantee you that's only a temporary situation.  It isn't as if the world had any gold vanish off the face of the earth.  All those gold coins and bars are still out there, it's just that some people are likely hoarding a great deal of them at the moment.

And what this thread essentially boils down to is another bitcoin vs. gold debate, and I've seen probably a hundred of these since 2015.  Without knowing exactly what you're comparing (e.g., 1 ounce of gold vs. 1BTC), it's a silly question.

I'm not much for gold ownership myself, but I can understand why it's hot right now.  With all the money printing that's going on, people want to hedge against inflation--and traditionally that's been done with gold & silver.  Bitcoin?  Not a good hedge in my opinion.

I think people compare bitcoin and gold because of their curiosity and lack of better understanding about the two assets. With that been said, i think the OP was right when he said gold is scarce because read in an article which claimed the USGC said there are only 50,000 tons of mineable gold left in the world, theres limited gold mining companies and the current pandemic will trigger another ever growing worldwide demand of gold.

The gold prices are manipulated by the US federal reserve system for decades. The real price of gold is actually higher.
The Americans wanted to keep the gold price low, because if it gets more expensive, more countries in the world will buy more gold to backup their national currencies and stop using US dollars as a reserve currency.
I hope that both Bitcoin Core and Gold will become way more valuable during the summer, but I'm not quite sure about Bitcoin.

We haven't realised that total supply of gold yet. Though gold is mined in finite numbers of mines, new gold mines are found every now and than. And the supply could be much more larger than we might be thinking. While on the other hand, Bitcoin would never reach 21 million in supply.

It is considered by some scientists that more than 75% of the gold on the planet Earth has already been mined. This information is debatable,if you ask me.

Hell yeah, and these investors seems to be pretty not knowledgeable of bitcoin right? But this question has come overly and been in the discussion every time but how do we compare the prices of two? is it by per ounce of gold to 1 btc? or a bar of gold per btc, no one really asks this way so we can establish a good ground of comparing. Remember that gold has been there for a long time and bitcoin, technically born in 2009 but I really want to say not until 2017, Gold has a different kind of standard and so bitcoin does too. Bitcoin is more of like a digital asset but not a digital gold.

There is no need to be comparing the both of them, they are definitely going to do well in the next one year. The world market has been down and there has also been a lot of panic selling in the cryptocurrency market and we all know that’s it’s due to the Coronavirus pandemic and some other underlying circumstances.

The price of gold earlier this month was below 50,000 USD/kg ($47,000), but after some days the price has climbed up to 52,000 USD/kg (around $1,600 per oz). That’s the same thing with Bitcoin; earlier this month the price of Bitcoin was as low as $4000, even below that, but recently it bounced back to 6,600 USD. So they will all recover, there’s no need for comparing the both of them.

Gold is becoming scarce, but if you check the charts then you can see that the mine production of gold is not declining. The amounts have remained remarkably stable over the years. The production in South Africa and some of the other nations have declined during the past decade or so. But that has been more than neutralized by the increase from Russia, Amazonian nations and even China.

In the near future, the scarcity of Bitcoin is going to increase at a faster level when compared to that of gold.

If the question is what will be more expensive in 2021, then this is undoubtedly bitcoin. Gold has a smoother change than Bitcoin. But it is worth considering that the gold reserves are only 10-15 years old, perhaps gold will be more expensive after the natural reserves run out.

considering the fact that gold price also got dumped during the worldwide panic you can't make that conclusion. besides comparing bitcoin with gold is like comparing apples and oranges. bitcoin has a lot of positive characteristics that gold can never have and vice versa. for example you can always buy as many bitcoin as you want and store it all the same on your own in the safest possible way (eg cold storing millions of dollars worth of bitcoin) but you can never do the same with gold! there is no way you could "safely" store millions of dollars worth of gold on your own.
not to mention that you can't spend gold but you can spend bitcoin in any size or amount.

BTCitcoin should gain more value by 2021 and more adoption. We have evolved by making growing Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Although the Coronavirus is a horror to humanity, it has sparked many people the interest of using it as a means of payment, it is also being used to raise donations to fight the virus.

Most of us are trying to push BTC to be above gold yes, but honestly. The difference in the span of time of the two being used is way too vast. Even if we account the era difference, it would probably still take a decade or so before Bitcoin surpasses gold. Not to mention that Gold may increase in price in the near future due to the possible recession that is on its way. Even if we do say that Bitcoin could reach the price of gold in a few years time, it would probably stay there for a few hours at most. If we look at its usage, you could see that gold beats BTC by a mile as a store of value all because of how volatile BTC is. If we consider BTC reaching the price of gold for just a few hrs as a win, then sure, but honestly, that seems an empty argument. It needs to reach the price of gold and hold there, maybe go lower by a few hundreds but never going below a certain point.

Limited supplies and great demand can drive prices very high. Which will be worth more in a year, Bitcoin or Gold?

Actually both bitcoin and gold are essential things, but I don't think that they should be compared to each other because they are differ in purposes. Bitcoin are used through online, we can also acquire it online, it started in the year of 2009 while gold is in the nature, it existed since ages and used in real life.

Based on my understanding, if both things differ from its purposes it cannot be compared because there would be bias that may happen because of different purposes, usage and nature.

Both are important, they have an essential value that may help us in our daily lives.

Gold is up here.It is one of the most valuable metal in the world.
https://www.macrotrends.net/1333/historical-gold-prices-100-year-chart
This is the year by year growth of gold since 2000 and in 2019 the price of gold has increased by 18.83% which is the most since 2000.
In 2020 itself the year open price of gold was 1583.5$ and now it is 1629$.Despite of such heavy recession the gold has recovered faster then any other commodity or equity. The gold are for long investment and so are bitcoin but comparing bitcoin with gold is not fair and should be avoided as both are from different field.

For me, gold is much better and it will never become outdated because of its ability to store its value in the market. Gold is also a good for investment and it is for a long term business so that after a long long time you will still have the amount of money that you've invested. Most of our elder family members such as grandmother or grandfather, they still have the gold that they've store for years so that the future generation which is now, they will benefit on what they kept for a long period of time. Bitcoin is also good but its volatility is the one who destroy its reputation as a store of value. So that it is not useful for a long term, and needs to be manipulated properly depending on its price so that you'll have a profit from it. Bitcoin is seasonal while gold is for a long term investment.

Well, Bitcoin is really a kind of seasonal investment, we can see the change of bitcoin with each milestone, sometimes very low, sometimes very high, it takes a lot of calculations from investors to make a complete profit and not lose with bitcoin, and it may be outdated in the future. While gold is like you said, its obsolete status is very low as it is still a form of showing wealth to the present time, it's really a form of long-term investment, so when comparing the value in the future, gold will probably slowly touch and surpass the value of bitcoin.

Well, clearly gold has a bigger market cap. However, gold won't have the lightning network, and you can't cut 0.2 grams of gold and send it over the internet. And you can't easily make sure that your gold or the gold you're trying to receive is authentic.

Also you can't create copies of your gold stash that are password protected and just a  useless piece of paper to those without the proper passwords.

Bitcoin is infinitely more valuable by weight than gold. So the value density of bitcoin, is higher than gold's ever could be.

One of the advantages of gold was portability, you didn't have to carry a cow, or a lot of silver to trade. With bitcoin, you only need your cellphone which you'd be carrying anyway, in fact you don't really need to carry anything anywhere if you do things right.

By total worth gold's market cap will probably dwarf bitcoin for a few more years still, but I don't expect that to last forever.

3.   ZERO central banks, Countries, and real money are investing in BitCion,

that is a HUGE advantage that bitcoin has. every time banks enter something they corrupt the hell out of it and ruin it forever. the fact that "zero" central banks have entered bitcoin is a very positive sign and it is mainly because they can not control nor corrupt bitcoin ever thanks to its decentralization which has made bitcoin a lot more valuable than anything else.

You point goes t show that bitcoin will be worth more than gold once mass adoption by more countries and governments is achieved. Bitcoin is highly limited in supply compared to the total world population. Any vital news in the favour of bitcoin always kicks the price up. And this we are going to see once this epidemic is over. In my little way, Bitcoin will be more worthy than Gold few years to come because, the said Bitcoin is still revolving while gold has been there for ages and been used by many individuals across the globe. Bitcoin has just spent some few years on it existence and shouldn't be use to compare gold and others. But in my own believe, the worthiest among all the types of money or means if money will be Bitcoin and not even gold as many have been speculating.

Gold and Bitcoin have equal standing when it comes to scarce supply and the value could not be manipulated by banks.
But in terms of convenience, Bitcoin has the upper hand compared to gold. Because buying Gold is very difficult to deliver and when it comes to Bitcoin it's just one click away and you have instant BTC.

This chart says the highest price for gold since March 1 2020  was on march 8th  it was 1674  gold is now 1580 on march 31st.

Btc since march 1 went from a high of  9100 to a low of 3850 back to 6424 add to this that for a miner  a 15% difficulty adjustment happened which makes getting coins 15% cheaper if you mine.

So for a miner   that invested on march 13th the  earning have increased from 3850 a coin to 6424 a coin  and the cost of mining the coin has dropped 15%.  Seems to me that is a win for a mining investment over most other types of investments.

I do agree with you that gold is doing better then some stocks.  But once again you are practicing soft lies about BTC.

Also if you purchased btc on the dip you went from 3850 to 6424.

For some people who work in crypto, I think they will think Bitcoin is more valuable. Bitcoin trading, in my opinion, is more challenging because Bitcoin movements can go up very high. Seeing Bitcoin's potential every year the price is always increasing.

Gold, in the real world of gold, is indeed one of the very good and safer investments. In addition, people buy gold to make their appearance more interesting. But, from the price, gold is more stable.

In my view, Bitcoin will continue to be a profitable investment when compared to gold.

Which will be worth more? Gold is only $1,600 odd so you think Bitcoin might drop regardless of the halving or do you mean which might have the better ROI in the next twelve months?

Clearly Bitcoin will even if it drops to sub $5,000 it will still come back stronger than ever due to its unique (and yes uncorrelated) value among retail investors, professional traders, and savy institutions who are interested in emerging assets that have no direct relation to traditional markets which trades around the world twenty four seven... its a different ball game altogether

Why choose one if both have good potential? Gold is safe heaven, legal, recognized throughout the world, its volatility is also low, while bitcoin has a large risk because of its high volatility, it needs good analysis to be able to maximize profits in investment and trading, but it is also not legal and many pros and cons. I will choose both, set aside some funds for gold, and some for use in the crypto world. High-risk high return.

Today, gold is in great demand because another global economic crisis is looming, reinforced by the coronavirus pandemic.  all valuable assets fall in price, including oil, and in order to minimize their losses, many investors invest their money in gold.  this can explain the stable and increased demand for gold.  And if we talk about what will be more expensive than Bitcoin or gold, then you first need to look at the amount of gold and bitcoin that has been mined today.  according to existing data, gold is mined all over the world Until today, about 195,000 tons, and Bitcoin mined to this day 18, 37 million.  so you can compare the ratio of gold and bitcoin, namely how much bitcoin is have to per 1 kilogram of gold: 1 kilogram of gold  -  95,20 Bitcoin. 1kg Gold = 54.500$, and 1 BTC = 8680 $ (54.500$/1kg gold - 826.336$/95,20BTC). Based on this, it can be said with accuracy that gold metal is more scarce than bitcoin, and also 1 kg of gold is more expensive than one bitcoin.

Hello everybody. I have been thinking about this issue for a long time. On the one hand, they are absolutely diverse assets, but at the same time desired in accumulation. For me, this is a very difficult question, but still I think that bitcoin will cost more. My opinion is based on the fact that the amount of gold is limited to the bowels of the earth, that is, no one knows for sure the final amount of gold. Bitcoin knows the final amount. You can talk as much as you like about the old, accepted throughout the world valuable metal, and not so widespread crypto asset, but the world is entering the digital economy, in which Bitcoin will command, with all the ensuing consequences.

I do not agree with such arguments. It is unlikely that gold and bitcoin can be compared with each other in price. We have completely incompatible objects. At first, as they say in mathematics, they need to be reduced to a common denominator, and I don’t see those yet. Rather, these objects have the exact opposite and have little in common. What will we compare with: bitcoin with a kilogram, a ton or an ounce of gold? The rarity of these compared objects also cannot serve as a common denominator. In our world there are many small groups or even single objects that have little or no value.
I did not vote here, since any of the proposed answer options will be incorrect.

If we really care so much for our future, we have to invest more in Gold rather than of Bitcoin or any crypto.
Crypto investment is not really a safe haven, unlike Gold. Pertaining to such difference when we come into assurance, I don't think that Bitcoin will defeat Gold. It was the price that Bitcoin makes its name but seeing Gold, it is called wealthy.

But since Bitcoin has a great market value today, we should also have to take this opportunity.

Right now there is no doubt for gold to be more safe investment than bitcoin because of its massive liquidity and adoption throughout the world. When a Country's paper money will no longer be accepted in some country, the only thing that can help them to bounce back their economy is gold. that's why storing gold is crucial for every country out there. You can see some countries that face tribulation when they're out of any options when the United States no longer accepts their money. their national currency's price drops like that of the shit altcoins.

Does it really matter? What I mean is gold and bitcoin will go up in value during the next years and decades due to the economic policies that governments all around the world have taken during the last decades, it doesn't really matter which one you choose you are going to earn a lot of money with both of them, just make sure that when we see a sudden increase in the price of both you are holding enough of it to change your life, if you do that you're not going to really care that much about which one outperformed the other.

Yeah I think, what we are doing right now is a very risky by relying our financial future to cryptocurrency which acts like a bungee rope and we do not know when the rope is going to snapped. We have been talking about gold and bitcoin for ages, before the bitcoin comes in there was gold that is valued through its metal composition and define its intrinsic value. Bitcoin on the other hand is thick bubble.
But since Bitcoin has a great market value today, we should also have to take this opportunity.
What we have now is an opportunity, yes, because bitcoin is volatile and we can make profit out of it.

What will be worthier in 2100? I put my lifesavings on bitcoin about that. I hope my grandchildren will live a rich life.  :D

Well in 2100, only 0.00000596BTC will be generated per block, meaning 0.00085830BTC per day.

If I wanted to save money on a safe place, then the priceless gold would be my choice. It almost never loses value. With bitcoin tho you can lose fortunes within a month.

Depending on your personality and your mind you need to chose your way,
Bitcoin is growing rapidly but it's always counts as high risk investment.
But, in the other hand golds is a safe haven our grandfathers believed on it and so their grand fathers the price is rising slowly but this always rising in long term. But it's not like investing on gold is super safe because if you buy physical gold there is the risk of someone stealing all your investments. However, by tokenization gold and some other valuable metals the problem is getting solved by still there is nothing called super safe investing.
Generally, if you are looking for long time and low risk investment go for gold. But, if you don't have any problem with high risk investment and your investment worth changing by the price all the time you can start investing on gold after investigation about it.

Limited supplies and great demand can drive prices very high. Which will be worth more in a year, Bitcoin or Gold?

gold is safe for so long but as technology grow every second everything change so fast and its not that far we see bitcoin more powerful than gold or anything else.it takes time also .maybe 3/4 years until we see true power of crypto and blockchain.

No doubt gold is safe but if  we talk  about the profitability bitcoin will stand out among this comparison since we all know how good bring up with bitcoins and for several years there   are so many people  earning with it. In relevance I think gold is much stronger since the demand of bitcoins is not quite high as gold since if we talk about global economy for sure many prefer to have gold than bitcoins.

Why don't you just focus on one and stop jumping from one place to another comparing things that are different to each other in lots of ways? After the halving, haven't you seen that Bitcoin has been increasing in price? The price went up to $9700 plus and has been above $9000 since today.

Gold is also growing, but you should be focusing on just one and stop confusing yourself with all of them, unless you have plans to invest in the two of them as a way to diversify your money. It's all up to you. They are all a good investment. I have invested in gold before and then the platform which I was investing in decided to merge with another company, and around then I got to know about Bitcoin and started to invest in it.

Sorry, I just find this thought experiment very funny:

"1 bitcoin = XYASASDQJW"

but then what's the price of 1 gold? This isn't minecraft lol, how can we quantify a equal amount of gold to BTC? 1KG seems arbitrary, is there 21m kg of gold in the world? Less? What's a proper measure to compare it to, then? Otherwise it's always apples to oranges kinda comparison.

Gold is considered the safest asset out there in terms of inflation because the total market cap cannot be printed but it has disadvantage such as, its hard to transfer even take 3-5 days depending on location and you need to pay expenses with transportation and storing it which is costly.
But Bitcoin on other hand makes life so much easier with its instant transaction, low fees and quantitative tightening. I say its much superior than Gold.

Although the two are seen in two ways.Gold has been carrying value since ancient times.Bitcoin has been around for the past decade.Gold can be seen. It can be touched with the hand. But Bitcoin is liquid money.Bitcoin also has a higher probability of profit and a higher probability of loss. However, in the case of gold, the possibility of more profit is less. All in all, the acceptability of gold is equal in all countries.

Gold will reach it limit someday but the price of it will plateau and eventually will drop, unlike bitcoin which has a limited supply thus making the price of it in check. The reason that I believe that gold will reach plateau someday is the fact that space mining is becoming a thing in the future and particle accelerators are creating real life alchemy as in bombing lead atoms to become gold, when that happens the supply will increase and the price will go down. On the other hand, bitcoin will never reach the sky high price, not until it will be centralized. Decentralized bitcoin will only reach a stalemate because the chances that it will crash down is very high.

This show us the main difference between the two, if your goal this to store the value of your money over long periods of time then gold seems like the better choice as it has a proven record of thousands of years of doing that successfully, but if what you want to do is to maximize your profits as much as possible in the shortest possible amount of time then it seems that bitcoin is the best choice as I have no doubts that we will see a bull market during the next years.

No comparison should be made concerning the Bitcoin and the Gold. Gold has been in existence as such has the will-power of the people while the said Bitcoin has been in existence 11years now. Bitcoin has made history when it come to the market compared to Gold and we should be proud of this as a community. Just with 11years bitcoin has been in the news and growing, so, it shouldn't be measure with Gold or any other. Bitcoin is still growing and will definitely outgrowth Gold.
