Title: Will bitcoin last forever?
Post by: Msigwaeliza on March 26, 2020, 02:18:03 PM
We see that's some of the cryptocurrencies ranking level are decreased such as dogecoin before it was ranked #4 but currently I think it doesn't listed even in top #10 ranking... So can bitcoin also decrease its rank in the future or it will remain #1 rank forever?.

There is Bitcoin, and then there's everything else. Everything else is effectively interchangeable.

I can imagine scum like the BSV crew will play with pumps and market caps to attempt to make it look that way for brief moments before they fall back but nothing will sustain as they're ultimately empty gestures.

Bitcoin is the oldest, best developed, most purely launched and most decentralised project. That all adds up to trust and trust can't be bought or faked. It can only be earned. Nothing will be able to match that trust and that's the main thing that counts in deciding market position and value.

I can imagine in future there will still be something named Bitcoin that bears no technical resemblance to what we use now. Because it's the same ledger it will still be Bitcoin.

I don't think so. It is still ranking on top 1 no matter what. A lot of speculations that ethereum and bch will gonna beat the bitcoin but until now, the king remains on the first rank. It is the first cryptocurrency that is created thus making it special.

Regardless of the altcoins good characteristics, the reputation and established form of bitcoin can not be surpass. It is different from the other and has beyond impact which can basically change or rather improved the future.

that's possible, but the potential is very small. can or not, we can know if there is a crypto that exceeds bitcoin. but, so far the potential is not there yet. bitcoin will probably stay in first place for now and so on. even more, if you consider that bitcoin affects almost all altcoins.

Bitcoin will still be the number one coin in cryptocurrency because no coin can overtake it in the future. See the bitcoin market capitalist is very different from the second position, namely Ethereum because indeed the demand for bitcoin is getting more and more, it will still be the first and more used for large investors and in the future it will be used by many large companies or even in a country.

In the future bitcoin will increase maybe it will be more expensive because of its many requests and therefore people can believe that bitcoin will bring extraordinary benefits if held for a long time.

BTC has been the poster child of cryptocurrency and we can even call it the first truly cryptocurrency that started everything. And as you can see, all other coins are called alternate or alternative coins. So those coins ranking are going to be interchange, we have seen ETH and XRP bouncing back at 2nd and third spot if I'm not mistaken.

But as far as the number one ranking goes, there's no one that can dethrone bitcoin for now. Look at the dominance, above 60% and as low as 40%-45% during the peak at 2017. So for me, no one can topple bitcoin at the top spot.

It's here to stay.

Comparing to the position of Dogecoin and any other altcoins. They're alts and that's expected for them to happen and I think you should be asking if the top alts will remain at the top.

Bitcoin, no doubt it shall stay because it's the one that build the foundation of cryptocurrencies.

In terms of the marketcap rankings it won't last forever but imo it will hold it's spot for a very long time because most altcoins get affected whenever Bitcoin's price move.

On the other hand those rankings doesn't determine the true ranking of each cryptocurrencies, if Bitcoin isn't in the top 10 in the future it could still be the first in other things (like gentleman mentioned).

Remember that altcoins will remain altcoin and Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency created. I have no doubt that altcoins will never be the same code of Bitcoin and of course, it will remain on the top of all cryptocurrencies.

That was right, Bitcoin has been build already and has a strong foundation in crypto space and no one will defeat the Bitcoin, IMO. If you can see only Bitcoin was an open-source project and I think this makes Bitcoin still existed and was on the mainstream.

Well, as of now, There's no alt that could be a great threat to dethrone Bitcoin. The closest alt to chase Bitcoin's spot was ETH but still It wasn't enough and still far from taking the number 1 spot in terms of popularity and usage.
One of the key factor why Bitcoin will still remain the top cryptocurrency is, the fact that there's no authority in Bitcoin network that will going to abuse it, unlike the majority of the alts in the market who has been distributing a bias amount of crypto for the big investors.
So, basically owning a Bitcoin is like owning a fiat currency.

Nothing is forever :D.

Kidding aside, all has a chance and possibilities so Bitcoin going down to its current rank right now is still possible but how much? Probably around 0.0000001 - 0.0000000001%.
You get what I mean right? It is still possible but the chances of it to happen are like chances of winning of a gambler who gambled in a lottery ;).

The rankings of the coins right is based on its market cap and if you will compare the market cap of Bitcoin and Ethereum, you will see a huge gap between them so what is the way for the coins to remove Bitcoin to the top spot? I don't see any way for them to do it unless Bitcoin will turn into a ponzi scheme which is impossible as we see right now. Regarding to your question, Bitcoin will not remain the #1 rank but the chances of it to happen is very low that it is almost impossible to happen.

We can all talk about ranks and it will just last forever so better not look at that way.

It ain't about being on the top, IMO.
It's all about the usage.
I am waiting for that moment and that is why I am still here.
Been using Ethereum for quite a lot but it ain't on the top. That is because of the cheap transaction fee.
You cannot be a full time loyal to one coin although I always prefer bitcoin but just not now.
That is why I go thru different varieties and see if some of them have some good usage now rather than spending a lot with bitcoin.
But still, I won't stop keeping it. I know there will be a timeline out there where bitcoin will be used everyday or even every minute.

Nothing do last forever- keep it on your mind.We cant tell if bitcoin would able to have that top 1 rank forever. There would be always new and updated
coins which is more better than btc itself so the probability of being replaced on top spot is always there. For now it remain on the top spot for 10 years since
it was created knowing that this is the father of all crypto. So its really hard to believe that it would be replaced anytime soon if we do base up on the
demand and support of the entire crypto community. Bitcoin is always preferable and its value is  the solid-proof.

Possibly. Just that, it takes a similar idea such as BTC to possibly exceed it. Right now, no one could think of anything passing through BTC, with its fame bringing it to its current state right now. Not to mention that you could say the crypto scene is only starting to take shape and can only be considered an infant in the global scale. As for anything passing BTC by any time? You gotta go and tell that to those big shots that don't let it go down.

There was never a thing that stayed to date. Whether it be fashion, leadership, trend, everything would have its end. It's a matter of how long it takes before it bites the dust. It may take a similar idea for Bitcoin to overtake it, but in the end, it still got overtaken.

As the mother of cryptocurrency bitcoin will be hard to be replaced. Most of crypto user will have bitcoin and also most of newcomer will choose bitcoin as their investment place before they choose an altcon. Which I think the chance to be replaced is really small even it is impossible. You can see from the market cap for each coin and compare with bitcoin, as of now bitcoin has marketcap more then $121 billion based on coinmarketcap and compare with ETH which is in the second position who just have $14 billion. Maybe it will takes more one decade to able to replace.

I think bitcoin is link as blockchain is important. For bitcoin to lose it place in position, I see it as a difficult thing that will happen. Take for instance when in 2018, bitcoin dropped and was getting most people the feeling of total collapse and no existence but it came back again strong that no coin was able to go above.

Prediction is a tricky business, it's so easy to be wrong and so hard to be right...

Bitcoin is a pure gold it has become more mainstream and it's value will continue to increase in future, I don't believe in those who say BTC will be vanished. BTC will dominate the world one-day and I am going it any way.

There's was a moment when Ethereum was close to flipping Bitcoin and (likely only temporarily) overtaking it as #1 coin. But today Bitcoin is undisputed champion and it's hard to imagine how this can shift. I personally believe there will never be another alt season, so no more opportunities for the flippening like the one I described earlier. It's safe to say that in the observable future Bitcoin will keep being number one, and as for very long run - no one can really predict that, so we shouldn't worry about that now.

if bitcoin was useless like dogecoin or all other altcoins that keep getting dumped and go down in the lists then yeah it would have disappeared already. but the problem is that you are comparing shitcoins' behavior with bitcoin and expect bitcoin to act like them which doesn't make any sense.

There's was a moment when Ethereum was close to flipping Bitcoin and (likely only temporarily) overtaking it as #1 coin.
there has never been such a moment. ethereum is as it has always been a shitcoin. it got pumped a lot like many other shitcoins and the pumpers started a social media campaign to fool newbies into thinking "flippening" is a thing ;D

Technically "forever" is a very long period of time, I do not think we will have bitcoin "forever", it will be around in 10 years probably 20, maybe even 50 years.

But, think about how fast the technology and the world improves in the past 10-20 years, that means we can't really comprehend what it can do in 50-100 years, most of us will not be alive in 50 years, all of us will be dead in 100 years, even the youngest people here must be at least 15-20 years old, even if you are 5 years old (which I doubt any 5 year old would be on bitcointalk) that is 105 years old, and probably dead. So, that means we will not see bitcoin being fully gone if you ask me. But, in 100 years we will definitely have people living on mars, at least it looks like that from here right now.

It lasts as long as there is internet to support it.
If the future world government decides to close the internet for a week, then bitcoin go to zero.
So "forever" is a bit relative here.

Nothing last forever. You are focusing on the cryptocurencies, but you can look further. Nothing stays rank.1 forever. If you look last 5000 years timeline China was strongest country for most of the rime. And where was China last 500 years? Spain, Netherlands, UK and USA were Nr.1.

Of course I was only speaking about the marketcap, and you're correct - "the flippening" was merely a bubble, which only highlights my point - Bitcoin is miles ahead of shitcoins, despite what places like /r/cryptocurrency want people to believe. I think newcomers just want to believe that there's some sort of hidden gem that will go to the moon and replace Bitcoin, just because they want to get rich quick. They don't care about the tech at all.

I think that maybe eventually another coin with similar aspects will take over, unless bitcoin really steps up its game or side chains get good enough to keep it running despite massive adoption. Because that's really Bitcoin's biggest disadvantage, it can't process the amount of payments a world currency should be able to, and unless this is solved it's possible it gets replaced.

That's a classic shitcoiner viewpoint that's totally the wrong way around.

What matters, especially when you're dealing with code conjured out of thin air to begin with, is track record and trust. No one gives a shit about your one second block time if it's run by one server and maintained by one person and fifty people know about it.

That can be replicated a trillion times over. It's worthless before it got going.

What Bitcoin means cannot be replicated. It takes years and the efforts of millions of people. No way will enough people gather around another project of their own free will in the same way again. It's a once in a lifetime happening.

The incentive is there to make the dominant chain work, not invent a new one. Layer two stuff may deal with the capacity aspect. If not then something else may well come up.

I've seen Nano fans genuinely incapable of understanding why they haven't taken over the world yet. It's rather obvious if you think it through.

It is impossible that internet will be close for some events because, it is a necessity nowadays: people are now all over it, from the daily tasks they make to the things they think about. As long as the internet is forever, and so is Bitcoin. But, at the least possibility is when the supply of Bitcoin depletes to zero, it would be the end for the coin because, it is only limited in blocks.

Closing internet for few hours could crash markets and if it goes for few days, many big companies will require finance support from governments to keep working. This is just an exemple, i can't imagine the rest so bitcoin at worst could crash but once the system is online everything will return to normal.
Bitcoin is meant to be used and to last unless we will be in an imaginary communist cashless society

I would say it's possible but not at this moment as crypto market is currently depended on Bitcoin's momentum as its the driving factor behind the market from last decade.

I don't think it's possible. Because if Bitcoin dumps then all altcoin dumps. Now you have to calculate how altcoin will overtake Bitcoin. I see a lot of people who compare eth to bitcoin. This is really ridiculous. When eth is dependent on Bitcoin then eth how to overtake Bitcoin. I don't think any other altcoin can go to the top 1. Bitcoin is king.

Theres no such thing about lasting forever but we can actually tell that bitcoin would still have the long run to remain the top spot. Why?
We know on how big the bitcoin community is and also this had been the first crypto ever created and been supported by the masses thats why
its really hard to believe that it can be replaced by any alts in the market no matter how new it is when it comes to specs.

Lasting forever wont be the issue here but if this one would be worldwide be adopted then that possibility or chance is still there.

we are only talking about ranks and not the death or how long the coin will live   . still i agree on what you said , btc is too mighty too get knocked down on the top spot but other coins are always possible to get de throned   .

for example doge coin because doge coin is pretty weak so its normal for its ranked to fluctuate because there are also coins that are becoming good overtime   . let say if btc ever de throned on the future  , i think many are still going to support it becuase other unranked coins still have supportes too   .

BTC will likely continue, the biggest threat is replacement by a better product.   At present we have failing FIAT, that provides a great underlying demand for a better alternative to that product which is compromised by politics.   The reason that matters is uneven capital value circulating in an economy restricts and damages productivity that might have occurred, we have compromised value exchange.
Like a leaky bucket used to bring water back from a well, the need to find a better hold for value is likely to continue hence BTC is viable.     BTC is going to continue as long as there continues a need for it and I think it expands not contracts in this year, next and there after.

Others are thinking of how short term bitcoin is because of the phasing of technology. Despite of those opinions, I'm still firm and believing that bitcoin will stay here more than what others are expecting. 15 years? 20 years? more than that I guess.

Nothing lasts forever. Not even our solar system.

But of all digital currencies, Bitcoin is most likely to last longest.

Don't be distracted by altcoins, forkcoins, pre-mined shitcoins, centralized company coins, or any of that other "crypto" crap.

Only Bitcoin has the advantage of being first mover. Together with full decentralization, a strong worldwide peer-to-peer network and a finite supply limit, there is almost no chance for any pretender coin to usurp its position of dominance.

The infrastructure developed around Bitcoin gives it a massive advantage over anything else. Unless some kind of omnipotent world government dictatorship strangles individual rights around the world, Bitcoin will be insurmountable.

Don't worry about it. Bitcoin ain't going nowhere.

Not sure against it, I see bitcoin is different with another cryptocurrency in the market. Thus far I see bitcoin has a power to move all the price cryptocurrency. As you can see when bitcoin price up then we will see most altcoin price will up as well and otherwise when bitcoin price is down then we will automatically see most of cryptocurrency price is down as well. This is pointed out, there is no coin who can be able to compete bitcoin price or even to pass bitcoin price.

If you mean the coinmarketcap kind of ranking system then I am afraid that bitcoin may lose its number one rank as those ranking systems are highly manipulated one but if you refer about being top currency in crypto space in terms of high value and high real time applications then I am very much sure that bitcoin will remain as the top number one cryptocurrency forever.

we cannot say if it's going to last forever because we can not say what's going to be the new technology in the future..
That is a realistic talk but when nothing changes in impacting factors like withstanding against quantum computing or no governments will be banning bitcoins then I guess bitcoin will remain top forever or at least for next few centuries. We cannot worry about the future but we can be relaxed about near future by analyzing the impacting factors and other related things.

Hard to say how long bitcoin will stay beside us, but maybe until people do not use bitcoin anymore, then bitcoin will disappear. Or until people think that bitcoin is not worth enough as now, and they leave and abandon bitcoin, and move to the other. I don't want to know about how long bitcoin will be with us, but as long as I can use the benefit from bitcoin, and I can get it for my life and my family, I think that will be enough for me. But bitcoin will be with us for a long time.

Bitcoin has that capacity to last forever. It has died several times and it is still be alive. If there is any financial instruments that is going to remain with us it is going to be bitcoin. Bitcoin should become the next generation of money but the governments are not seeing it that way but time is going to come when it will be adopted.

I doubt we will ever see another coin replacing bitcoin, we will probably see "something" replace bitcoin eventually but probably not another coin. Right now we are talking about crypto currency that is backed by blockchain and all of them race each other, bitcoin is so high that it worths more than all of the other ones combined together, that tells me that no other coin will ever pass bitcoin, some other one might become second and beat ethereum one day, it all depends on if there is a good one and if ethereum falls, but nothing could pass bitcoin if you ask me.

However that doesn't mean that something much better than blockchain and crypto will never come, maybe with technology there will be something that is a better version of blockchain and we will start using that instead.

Nothing will last forever, but Bitcoin will last for a long time. Bitcoin is not the magic internet money anymore. People are getting used to it and more and more people are using it. Adoption is going slowly but it's going forward. I am confident, Bitcoin will be here for a long time!  ;)

Nothing lasts forever, that is what experience teach us.
However, despite the large number of coins that followed Bitcoin none of them hasn't been so successful and how the situation looks now it will not be. It's not impossible that in some period of time some coin replace Bitcoin but that one should be much more technology advanced, be better accepted and has higher value but so far I don't see such possibility.

It is not really about quality to be at the top, bitcoin is the first mover and it is riding on the first mover advantage and nothing else.

I can name 50 coins that are much better than bitcoin when it comes to blockchain, the quality of bitcoin and basically bitcoins blockchain is nothing compared to almost all other newer ones because they all put work into bitcoins blockchain and improved it and then improved the improved version and then kept on improving the improved versions back to back to create amazing ones.

Why bitcoin is high? Because it has the most interest from people, it is listed everywhere as the main one, it is also accepted in some places and also heard by a lot more people than all others combined. In order for another coin to pass it, you have to do marketing in 10+ billion dollars range to get it to that level, unlikely from anyone to do something like that for a new coin.

DOGE coin and Bitcoin are not the same, so you can't compare both these coins for their durability or reputation.

But we also can't say bitcoin will remain in number 1 position forever even if everyone started using cryptos as their primary payment mode, anything may happen at any time. But as of now, there is no competitor for bitcoin so it will stay there.

I highly doubt if there would be another kind of digital currency that resembles just like the Bitcoin in the future. I believe that nothing last forever and I agree with you but there will be something in the future that's awaiting to happen that would change the system. Just like how Bitcoin counter the banking system with its decentralization. It's been 10 years and not a single crypto can compete Bitcoin since most of them are a copy of the original Bitcoin.

I don't see an ending story of Bitcoin at this time but of course, we can't be sure also that this technology will last forever.
For more than a decade of its existence Bitcoin is still in #1 rank and why it happens like that? because Bitcoin is a unique coin created by one person, it was special that even a lot of people tried to clone it just BSV, BCH but still, there is no way to defeat Bitcoin...Having this instances, there is no reason why we have doubted the capability of this coin and change the mindset of the people who believe Bitcoin as the king in crypto.

I see bitcoin is different with another cryptocurrency in the market. The existence of Bitcoin laid the existence of other cryptocurrencies, As you can see when bitcoin price up then we will see most altcoin price will up as well and otherwise when bitcoin price is down then we will automatically see most of cryptocurrency price is down as well. This is pointed out, there is no coin who can be able to compete bitcoin price or even to pass bitcoin price. Bitcoin will always stay at the top. Because it is still and proven to be secured and all the other coins cannot challenge its dominance

We see that's some of the cryptocurrencies ranking level are decreased such as dogecoin before it was ranked #4 but currently I think it doesn't listed even in top #10 ranking... So can bitcoin also decrease its rank in the future or it will remain #1 rank forever?.
Bitcoin will still remain ranked 1, Bitcoin is a digital revolutionary in the future, I am sure that, some countries have also legalized cryptocurrency, such as South Korea, Japan and Singapore to be home to Bitcoin at this time, I think this will be a good step for Bitcoin to continue its journey, Bitcoin is the king mate!

We don't know. No one knows.

BUT, what we know is, Bitcoin's value is NOT what defines a cryptocurrency as Bitcoin. If you're here for fiat, trade shitcoins. They're more volatile, and would you give more opportunities.

Plus this take, Bitcoin will win the war of attrition against ALL shitcoins.

The question is, are there any coins that can really challenge bitcoin in terms of market cap or dominance? We have seen bitcoin on top and so its hard to imagine that an altcoin will go and replace bitcoin. It has been this way and I seriously don't see any coins right now that can get the trust of investors.

So far, no. The altcoin will always follow bitcoin, and bitcoin will lead the crypto.

Related to the coin that has moved from the position, I think that is normal because there is always competition among the coin, so they will always try to beat the other coins to get a better position. But the altcoin will not have a chance to beat bitcoin because bitcoin will be a stay at number one.

I hope bitcoin will be with my grandchildren so they can also use bitcoin as I did now. I imagine my grandchildren transact using crypto besides of fiat money ;D

Just like most sayings 'There is no Forever" i don't think that Bitcoin will remain on that rank the whole life because there will comes a time that People will leave support on this Pioneering currency and will try others.

It may not happening this soon but in future when the adoption finally happen changes will be done and Bitcoin will step down to give other currency a chance to prove that they are deserving to serve people inc rypto.

Actually eventhough we can agree in the word that there is no forever but still we can rely on it since even up till now the current state is pretty much solid and aslong as theirs a big whale and it included on the institutions and whales options we can rely that we will see bitcoins for more longer years.

but i don't think that theirs a coin will surpass the bitcoin since it is the face of cryptocurrency and  I don't think if there are people who will take a risk for new one who claims that they will surpass the bitcoins standings.

We shouldn't have to think about it, not of course and even fiat money won't warrant anything to be last forever.
Only we have to give hope that it will stay long and long enough that people have to appreciate and give them realization towards the market and how we can get a benefit(s) from it.

Well, I suppose to think that Bitcoin will be fully accepted soon as a currency rather than being considered as an investment by most. And this way, it helps to keep crypto in the market and it helps promote by using it as another payment option other than fiat/local currency.

Nothing last forever! Bitcoin will last as long as people work on it, as long as there's someone
to upgrade it, take care of it. There will be better technologies in the future, it's a fact. Bitcoin, and
all others, will come to the point where will they adopt or die, it's for everyone!
For not it's the best we have! We need to use it, to show others how to use it, to spread it, and it
will last for many years!

If we are talking about bitcoin having some sort of trouble and not really doing what we imagine it would do and eventually die, that will not happen. I mean surely bitcoin could face some troubles and has already faced some troubles but we also had amazing moments as well like the 20k time for example, so we had our downs but we had our ups as well and in general that is all that should matter when we are talking about "forever".

As long as bitcoin stands it will always recover from even the worst of things. However like beerlover said if we are talking about a competition, there could be a competition in the future that we don't know right now, 50 years ago nobody could imagine we could have bitcoin, so many different technologies came together to build it, 50 years in future maybe we will have stuff we can't even begin to imagine right now.

No one can guess that Bitcoin will be the most valuable in marketcap in all of its existence, BUT think of the fact that Bitcoin has the "first mover" advantage, the network effects, the best developers, the industry, and the largest community.

IT WILL WIN the war of attrition against all shitcoins.

i can certainly answer that Bitcoin will Last forever because this is the Pioneering (though there are some first crypto but not succeed the market)

but in Ranking 1?nope there is no forever i think because there are many crypto currencies that is created Good or more than Bitcoin and just happen that for now harder to find support from the community but in time?sure they will blossom and make another step to serve crypto people in future.

Maybe I have to believe it but I'm not really confident that Bitcoin will be accepted worldwide and it is possible to see that some people may know nothing about crypto. We love bitcoin because we know better about it and it looks promising but wondering why many establishments not accepting this one as a currency. I know we are looking to that way but something we have to think that Bitcoin is not forever because of its feature and not all of us are in favor of this, in fact, some countries are not supporting crypto.

All Bitcoin is is a ledger with principles that enough people agree to. That's the part that has value. Nothing technical does. That being the case you can continue to upgrade the back end indefinitely and infinitely as long as the ledger is carried forward and remains compatible and enough people continue to agree to its principles.

That gives it a better shot of sticking around as long as we have a use for monetary exchange than most things out there.

Bitcoin could be outranked but it's unlikely to happen, why? because bitcoin is super dominant now, as we have observed, it's the one carrying the market, when its bullish altcoins will benefit but if it will dump altcoins will drop as well.

Bitcoin is not a project that will be develop by a team or a devs, it has always been the same bitcoin we invested in the pas but's still standing strong despite the fact there are more better platform than bitcoin, so that says they can't beat bitcoin as it has become the king of crypto and it's hard to dethrone the king.

I believe it's not about the "principles", we are not in a cult. Censorship-resistance is more the value proposition, and the need for a secure "truth" ledger that can't be modified, plus the costs spent to mine the rewards.

Bitcoin will stat on top of all crypto currencies but this does not mean that crypto will remain forever. Who knows after 100 yeas there might be no signs of crypto currencies and bitcoins.

How can you say that?

I am not saying that it is impossible, it is possible but saying that there will be no signs of cryptocurrencies in the future? I think that is impossible. One of the greatest technology Bitcoin has is the Blockchain and a lot of people are speculating that it will be widely used in the future and not only in the market we are used to.

Of course any currency can be replace easily especially if the currency in the bottom will likely to skyrocket the demand so we can say that other currencies have a chance to replace bitcoin someday as number 1 in the ranking if they will be doing their best. But if the investors will always favor bitcoin over other currencies the same to what is happening right now then we can say that bitcoin will always be at number 1 and it will last forever.

So in short, all will always depend to the investors especially the big investors out there if what currencies they like to support in the future because they can easily pump any currencies that they like if they want to.

I meant principles in the sense of foundations, not going vegan or owt. As long as they stay at the forefront of the minds of developers and other maintainers of the ecosystem it doesn't matter what the nuts and bolts underneath look like as long as they reinforce that.

We cannot actually define on what will happen in future since he have a point we don't know if cryptocurrency and bitcoins will last for that far since anything would change day by day and maybe there are other forms of E-currency will launch to compete the cryptocurrency in the market, but in other though if bitcoin will gain huge adoption and will break to legalization then for that we can say that bitcoins would last forever.

"Will Bitcoin last forever?" is totally different from "will remain #1 rank forever?"

Will Bitcoin last forever? Of course, not. It will not even last 500 years for sure, not even 200 years. Forever, my friend, is much much more than a million years.

Will Bitcoin remain #1 rank forever? If that means for as long as crypto is alive, yes. Bitcoin will remain to be the number 1 rank until crypto dies.

I agree pretty much with this comment. People hear bitcoin and cryptocurrency usually. They never heard even litecoin. I think that the halving will be a big deal for bitcoin and where the price will go. If the price doesn't match current profits for mining then I think bitcoin may lose popularity in many miners' hearts. I think if the miners go to another coin then the other coin will rise in ranks. Many years down the line I could see bitcoin getting dethroned but not anytime soon.

This is the Number 1 ranking currency for more than 10 years now so asking about staying forever is indeed as long as crypto currencies are being acknowledge and supported by people.

But staying in rank 1?this is the Big question because at any chance years from now there will be another crypto that will be loved and trust be investors.

now only from government but from People as well,or maybe individuals are also relying on governments Views before they will finally get into ir or totally deny this.
