Title: What will the gambling addicts do now that the casinos have closed?
Post by: sweetbet on March 26, 2020, 09:47:22 PM
As you may know, casinos all over the United States and the world have begun closing their doors to slow down the spread of the Coronavirus. While this has taken a financial toll on casinos, cafes, restaurants and hotels, etc, it has put the kibosh on problem gambling or at least made a serious dent in the lives of hopeless gambling addicts.

What will most gambling addicts do when they can no longer gamble at casinos, and what do you think they'll do when the casinos reopen in several months from now? Will most of them be finally cured of their gambling addiction, or will most of them return to their old ways?

What they do now?
They maybe stay at home and do some fun online games with others. Or gather and socialize with their family members in a longer time than before. During the Corona pandemic, people must prefer to stay at home and do activities inside. So, gambling addicts are likely to do the same ways as others for now.

Will they finally be cured?
It depends on them and their family's attention. If they realize something better during stopping gambling through the Corona pandemic, then they can be cured. Moreover, if there is support from their family members to exercise them for better habits. It will be very helpful to trigger them to recover.

Life moves on. Gambling addiction is not like drug addiction which can be life threatening

We still have online casinos which will most like remain operational even throughout the coronavirus crisis so i don't think Gamblers will not have any alternatives at all

not all casinos are closed but there are still online or you can still play gambling within your place as long as you know that people on your place are virus free so there is no point from stopping them but if ever they only love the traditional way of gambling such as playing on a real life casino that is now close then this event can be a good way to cure thier gambling habbit  because of the longer period of lockdowns and quarantine but i expect that some will still be playing again as soon as casinos were open too and will develop an addicting habbit again  .

I'm pretty sure most of them are currently gambling online, at home. So there are very few chances it will cure their gambling addiction, unfortunately  :-\
So I think they will just continue to gamble like before when they'll come back to brick and mortar casinos. :-\

so for those who dont have net connections, i guess they will be playing cards with their family or any gambling material that they have at home. treatment of gambling addiction depends on the person, if he's not willing to change even with the closure of casinos, he will always find a way how to satisfy his urge to gamble. it is like he's in the withdrawal state in this situation, either he will overcome it or not.

Due to lockdown, most of them would just gamble online as their alternative for their gambling addiction. They can do it as long as you have money at your bank or you have cryptocurrency coins such as Bitcoin, ETH, XRP, and etc. On the other hand since they are a fan of casino games, some of them will just prefer not to find alternatives because it doesn't make them satisfied. Some of them will just prefer to just watch movies/series or play online games.

You are referring in physical casinos. If those gambling business tend to closed because of this corona virus, there is no choice for them but to take a rest and keep distance in playing. There is a chance that they will manage to lessen their addiction in gambling but I doubt because there is also online gambling existing online that you can still gamble even at home.

Perhaps that is an opportunity for an addictive gambler to spend time with the family when those casinos were closed and has a chance to finally overcome addiction. If of course (they aren't fond of online gambling).

What will most gambling addicts do when they can no longer gamble at casinos,
they can satisfy themselves for now using Online gambling since no physical contact are allowed now.
and what do you think they'll do when the casinos reopen in several months from now?
depend on what is the effect of their Quarantine time, maybe some of them will recover from addiction since they can repent or bond with family for this long days.
Will most of them be finally cured of their gambling addiction, or will most of them return to their old ways?
\for sure most of them will remain addict or at least gamblers but also there will some that may be cured together with corona virus.

Why are the OP only focussing on the US while almost all the casinos around the world already banned going to these kinds of places because of the pandemic?

Though it's been more than a week since casinos are closed in our country and we don't have a choice but to work at our homes and obviously, gamble online. To be honest, I am getting sick of working at home and then gamble after that. I am getting tired of it so after working I do some workouts and have some bonding with my family. I still gamble no problem though I am not addicted and I think despite their addicted they are quarantined in their houses right now doing other things than gambling.

If I were to put my shoes in a gambling addict, I would probably have a withdrawal problem and I will be irritated for the time being. But unconsciously, I am thanking about this situation because it helps me rehabilitate.

nope they are not hopeless because they can still play at home using all online sites that offers the games they are playing and this is what they will choose for now.

i am hopeful that ADDICT will find cure with this quarantine because there will be more time to spend in people around them not like in past that they are always facing co-gamblers but now?people who loves them is whom they are joining with.

They will find other options to satisfy their addictions. Some will use online casinos others will shift to dri king and other stuff. An addiction is addiction you will do something or the other to satisfy it.

Well, some might say this is the best time to lose addiction but, it is the worst time as you might get addicted to other addiction to move your mind from gambling.

I am not sure if it will cure their gambling addiction as online casinos are always open so they can just shift to online casinos if they like to play aside from land base casinos. But for those gamblers who don't like to play online, they don't have other option but to stop or pause their gambling session so we can say that it can really help them to slowly cure their addiction.

Especially if this scenario will take like 3-6 months, I am pretty sure that their addiction will fade but it will surely resume once the land base casinos will re open again.

Most businesses and most addiction are affected from the current situation. This is not a normal drill for anyone. Everyone should stay in home.
Though online gambling is open always and as I've seen, most of the Live online gambling operators are still operating that gives a near to life experience.

I don't know what the gambling addicts do right now because I don't contact my friends who are often playing gambling at the casino. After all, we lived in a different country. But all of my friends who lived in the same city as me don't go anywhere. They stay in their homes while watching television or browse the internet to find the latest news or an update from my government.

Some of my friends still playing online gambling, but they don't spend a long time to gamble because they spend most of their time with their family. Some others are buying electronic products in the online store to be used to kill the boredom. The other people doing their activity in their homes but if they need something to buy, they will go out to buy that thing and come back to their homes as soon as possible. They reduce their time in the public area because they are careful with the social distance that now is applied here.

I only hope that my friends can cure their addicting in these situations because they don't use their time to gamble, and they spend their time with their family. But if they come back again in the casino, then I only can say that they need to be careful and don't get addicted like before.

Uhm do something else? Not like the whole world revolves around gambling tbh, even if you are a gambler. As for the addicted ones, not like they can do anything right? As long as they still have a sane mind, even if they are addicted to gambling, they'd know that there's no way for them to go to casinos at the current situation. Plus, online gambling exists anyway, so it's up to them whether they would go on that platform or not. As for their addiction being cured, it's not a matter of how long you're separated from something, it's a matter of the mind accepting and stuff like that. Just like how Smokers cure themselves, gambling addiction is cured by gradual reduction of playing, not by suddenly stopping it.

In my idea/perspective (since I really don't know what a gambling addict will do with this kind of situation) I think they will going to change to online casinos since it's still the same or maybe looking for a game to play with (a computer game or something) as long as they are not concern about winning a profit but if they do concern about a profit then I really do think the last thing they can go is through online gambling casinos.

They will comeback there as quick as possible. They will miss the ambiance of the casino and that's for sure or whatever their favorite designation there. No need to think about what they should do at these times because it's been said that they shall stay at home.

Will most of them be finally cured of their gambling addiction, or will most of them return to their old ways?
Somehow if the others want to quit but as usual, we know that once a gambler will remain as it is.

Will most of them be finally cured of their gambling addiction
This is not how to cure gambling in fact they will only yearn for it and they will find a way, only a proffesional help can help a gambler to change their way.

Online gambling still open and those gambling addicted person will adopt this kind of services since they've got urgency of playing.
Inside their mindset the will to continue playing and the desire of trying play can't be changed by anything, if there's still available
channels then they will proceed and start playing.

Beginners are very greedy and they are the one who are most prone of being addicted to it. Well, every gamblers came to the part when they enjoy playing gambling as they think that it will be a good source of income. Everyone experiences being interested to gamble any time they want because most of the beginners are experiencing "beginners luck". After they suffer from a huge loss, that's the time that they will reflect and understand the reality of gambling. The reality where gambling is just for an entertainment purposes and shouldn't be taken as a profession or job. This crisis will let them think and realize the true effect of gambling in their money, and this is also the chance for them to stop and focus more on other valuable things other than gambling such as spending time with family, watching movies, investing for a business and etc. If you really want to gamble and you can control yourself, you already practice your self-discipline, you can limit the money that you will spend, that is favorable and you can try playing online gambling casinos moderately.

What will most gambling addicts do when they can no longer gamble at casinos, and what do you think they'll do when the casinos reopen in several months from now? Will most of them be finally cured of their gambling addiction, or will most of them return to their old ways?
2 situations.

1. They will not gamble for months since they can't gamble to a casino. Instead of thinking of a way to gamble, they will spend their time with their families or playing online games. In this way, the gambler will save some of his money and he can be use it in buying anything they need instead of using it on gambling. I would choose this if I'm a gambler in a casino.

2. Gambling online. They can't helped themselves and they will find a way to gamble and online gambling is what they see. Instead of stopping for the meantime, they will still gamble. Instead of spending time with their families, they choose to spend their time on front of a computer while gambling.

Nr. 1 is very unlikely if we are talking about addicts here I think ;)
Nr. 2 is by far more likely, its very easy to get an account set up at an online gambling site and play.

What has become a real problem is sports betting. You simply can't bet on sports events nowadays due to the fact that any major sport and any major league has stopped match operations. The only available betting options for me are esports, but that is definitely not appropriate for everyone ;)

It depends on the country of the gambler if they on lock down they have no way but to play cards with their family but of course there is no money involved, or they have an option to play online but at this point of times where we are in a big crisis we should spend more time with our family or get updates on what's happening around the globe and check the latest developments.

What will most gambling addicts do when they can no longer gamble at casinos,
Nothing can be done for a while. Casino venues are all closed, until no specified time, day by day the worse what happened so far everyone thought of their own destiny to prevent and avoid the virus.

However, for the time being there is still online gambling that can be played and bet on, besides sports, such as dice, poker etc.
That's what is currently still accessible in gambling, I personally don't know for sure the casino is currently closed and when it will reopen.

everyone can only hope that in the future everything will improve and the casino can be back to normal for addicts.

Since that every casino is temporarily closed in every country that is affected by the pandemic of corona virus, i think the things that gamblers do to keep them busy is playing online games or in online casino, and spending more time with their families because it is the best chance to have more closure with your loved ones.

Definitely they will go into online gambling, very simple.

They will still find a way to gamble since they're addicted to it.

Or maybe they will take this quarantine or lockdown as a healing process for gambling addiction, that might be good since gambling addiction can really destroy your life. Especially when you're still gambling with other people now because you're an addict and get contacted with a COVID-19, you'll just die.

They won't get cured of their gambling addiction automatically. They will find their ways to quench thirst for their gambling addiction. Eventually they will temporarily move to online gambling. Though I doubt they will be able to use crypto currencies to gamble on random online crypto casinos due to legal issues. But yeah, there are lots of licensed and legal online gambling casino where people get gamble using fiat currency. High chances they will be playing over there.

I think gambling addicts now have a golden opportunity to tackle the addiction to gambling.
They now have the time (isolation) and the choice (not much games to gamble) to decide and overcome the addiction emotionally.

Addicts just need to set their mind to freedom, and addiction will be a thing of the past.

Is this even a question from the start?

Gamblers can always find a way to fulfill their addiction. Gambling is not limited only at playing casinos, there are other ways. For what specific things they will gamble no one knows or maybe seek an answer from a gambling addict itself.

And if it's really not possible to gamble, then definitely they will switch their activity into something that can cover the enjoyment they feel whenever they gamble.

People who are addicted to gambling will always find ways to gamble and play. They will still grab the chances whether it's online or the traditional way. Gambling addicts will still pursue gambling in their own ways even without the presence of casinos especially with the help of the latest technology. However, a wise gambler who knows how to control himself will choose to stay indoors during this kind of pandemic situation.

They will always find ways. Gamblers always be a gambler. For example here in our country, the cockfighting area already temporarily suspended by the government but people still find ways to organize illegal or secret cockfighting. And the worst here, they can broadcast it live so some online cockfighting can also benefit it and cater to some online gamblers on their website.

People who are addicted to gambling will always find ways to gamble and play.
It is true, they won't stop suddenly as they are already addicted. Yes, there are two options that they can do, playing a simple fun home gambling with family members or playing online gambling/casino with others. Those are not bad options and seem to require small funds or even no funds to play.

However, a wise gambler who knows how to control himself will choose to stay indoors during this kind of pandemic situation.
Of course, only stupid gamblers who go outside to play gambling and risk their family members at home. Remember that when we go outside, we are potentially infected by the virus. Once the gamblers go back home, the virus can be transmitted to other family members.

The only solution is e-gambling. Due to the pandemic, most establishments had closed down, which includes casinos. E-gambling will be a temporary safe haven for gamblers since most countries are on lockdown, most people are forced to stay at home.

They will still grab the chances whether it's online or the traditional way.

Organizing traditional gambling secretly will only put gamblers at risk. If I were a gambling addict I would not risk gambling secretly meeting with other gamblers to satisfy my crave for gambling.

What will most gambling addicts do when they can no longer gamble at casinos, and what do you think they'll do when the casinos reopen in several months from now? Will most of them be finally cured of their gambling addiction, or will most of them return to their old ways?

If those gambling addicts cannot adjust to online gambling, then this is good for them. They will certainly be rehabilitated from their addiction because of the current development. If they will shift to online gambling because of the closed physical casinos and other policies pertaining to the containment of the virus and they love it, their addiction will not in any way be cured. I am hoping for the former, of course. These quarantine or lockdown days are better spent bonding with family.

As long as they have internet and basic surfing knowledge they can/will gamble as before but only casinos seems operating at the moment since sport events are getting cancelled and postponed due to the corona.Casino game lovers will always win maybe not the money but the enjoyment. :D

The chance for the esports to shine maybe?

Most of the majors and minors are usually done on LAN and right now with the pandemic that is happening, tournaments are cancelled, postponed and delayed. No idea about those minors and majors being played online but right now, that is the only place you can do sports betting. Other than that? I guess Dice games and other popular games.

eSports betting was beginning to become established but the eSports community are in the same problem as other actual sports. Online play has less weight due to latency and connectivity issues which is why betting on LAN matches were more popular. I highly doubt there's gonna be gamblers that are going to throw money on online matches where connection might  be the reason you loose money. A few years ago in FPS circles, people would bet on league matches online then DDoS the teams they had stakes against so it wouldn't surprise me to see it happen again.

now either they are in Online casino playing or having real life living.

when casinos reopen?some addict will grab playing again while some wont care anymore, but 1 thing is for sure that this Virus gives us chance to be with our family and love ones.

It's easy to find way to that, there's online gambling where they can gamble and still continue their addiction and how they live. There's always a way if you want to! And I think if the casinos is going to back again on their operation, there will be a lot of gamblers that will go there, maybe a small part of the gambling addict will be cure but, I am sure that, the majority will still be a addict and going to gamble there and continue their addiction.

If the addicted player are player of the gambling through onlin they still playing for sure unless they don't have enough money because they don't have job right now. But for the addicted player of the traditional gambling they are the main affected of that because it is not operational right now.

But if they find that they can still playing through online Im sure they do all ways to play because of their bad habit but I hope those addicted players after the quarantine will become normal player who can able to manage their money using it.

They will just resort to online gambling for the mean time to satisfy their hunger on gambling. There are always different avenues to channel one's addiction for as long as the addict is dedicated to pursue his addictions. Mind you, there are tons of online gambling casinos right now that are fully-operational and give good bonuses that traditional casinos don't have. Due to this, I expect that some of the supporters of physical casinos would dwindle if quarantine times are prolonged and people learn to embrace online casinos at the comfort of their homes.

The actual feedback or reaction from previous gamblers will have much to do with the economy of their respective nation as of when the outbreak is been declared defeated. If the economy is in recession resulting to lack of jobs and they have to provide for their wellbeing and that of their household (for those that have family) they'll have no other choice but to result to their old habits whucyis gambling for fund.

Irrespective of how cure you might think they're, as a result of them not gambling for as long as the lockdown stay,  the chances of them going back to gambling the moment they get the opportunity is quite huge since they'll need to get some cash for their basic needs.

If this was the past then gamblers and gambling addicts would really stop from gambling. But unfortunately this is the modern age and everything has become decentralize including casino's where you can gamble online with more convenience or order food from a restaurant and have nice dinner at home.
So the shutdown of physical casino's isn't really an issue.

With not that many options available for sports betting, esports is the only viable option for those people looking for competitive matches. Since the last few weeks of online matches there were some pauses happens here and there but i've never seen any DDoS so far though.

They could go into online gambling or just spend more time with their family.
Tournaments are being cancelled and offline casino's are off limits so they have no other option.

For people who like to go to casinos and do not enjoy the online gambling would find it difficult to adjust to this because they are those people who would love to meet new people, enjoy the ambience and have a fun time. Those do not enjoy sitting at one people in alone and gamble online so it is going to be a difficult time but even this phase will pass out soon.

This trying time is a period I am sure anyone has not witnessed in his/her life time that have changed the way we have come to know about things. The addicted gamblers should just see it as a period of reflections to ensure they put a control to it. In the sense that what they think they can't stop is only there because of the current situation and now that nature or happenings around the world has done that for them, now is to focus on other things.

I think as of now, as casino gambling buildings are closed now, they are at their home, doing some stuffs and some are doing online gambling, that is the best option that they may do especially if they are gamblers. There are so many online gambling that they may try at home, that is more convenient than casino gambling because they can still play even they are eating, lying or anything. They are more comfortable while playing because they are at their home.

If this virus has been killed and some casino gambling begins to open, for sure the casino gambling will be crowded because of being missed by many gamblers, of course playing online gambling and real life gambling is such a different thing, it is more exciting while playing real life gambling compared to online gambling.

Gamblers who missed casinos are probably spending their time gambling online.  Online casinos and e-sports are their best options as of now.  After this pandemic has stabilized, we can go back to our previous hobbies. With the government's approval, gamblers can go back to casinos, and sport can resume,  and we can go back betting. But right now, the only thing we can do is to stay at home.

After this crisis, some gamblers will probably go back to physical casinos days or weeks after they are back in business. I don't think that this long break will enable addicts to quit their addiction because it will make them more eager to gamble. I'm sure that after this, they will be going back to their previous vices.

Yes, that is so true.

My friend told me about this but the term DDoS is not the term he is using. This is possible especially for those tournaments that are huge and done online though I hope this will not happen with the current ESL Pro League 11 that is happening right now since I do have a lot of bets on it. Been quite disappointed with the match between Team Liquid and Swole Patrol though.

I have this in my mind upon reading the subject of the OP, is it a sort of a rehab for gambling addicts that usually play in casinos when there is still not pandemics yet?

Well, it is a big win for us to try to invite them playing online gambling through cryptocurrency but it somehow gives us the feeling of guilt that we have taken away the free rehabilitation for them to just stay indoors and stay with their family.

Any way, going back to the topic, I think the gambling addicts are now trying to find a way on how they can still play casinos, so we have decision, would we teach them or not, it is upon us but for me, I think I let them figure it out for themselves.

Maybe some of them are spending their time with their family and they've stopped gambling for the moment and focused right now on their family.
Even though there are some who temporarily stopped gambling because of the virus, there are some who are still gambling online.
Maybe there are some gamblers out there who are spending their time playing online games and some are just sleeping and eating the whole day :D.
Different gamblers have different things that they are doing right now.

Possibly many gambling addicts will switch to online casinos to have their fun or crushing on their addiction as normal. Many have already started making statements on how they have lost to gambling platform. Some have used their funds which was kept for their sustainace and that of their family. Addiction is addiction and may stay for a decade before it can be control. Many gambling addicts will regret their staying at home due to this pandemic that forces the government to banned movement to enforce stay at home policy.

There are a lot of things that a gambler can do because even today while the virus is still spreading and some of the rules released by the government is to have a home quarantine and most of the gambler today will choice the online gambling or the e-gambling because it is more convenient and easier because today there are a lot of gambling website supporting the use of bitcoin as their payment method and it is good because it is secured and less hassle just you need is sending the funds to the designated and then it is already done you can now play all the games you want that they offer.

I was looking forward to seeing some alternative thing to do, I found playing online games is not that bad because players are returning because of this pandemic.

If they are in US, they have no choice but to follow the directives of quarantine, and yes Las Vegas is closed, the only big casino that is open is in Macau China, but I doubt the situation is normal, I'm sure people are sitll afraid of the virus.

Their option now are online gambling, they have to learn if they haven't tried it yet since not all gamblers are aware how to play online.

You're right about this, with the recent stay at home actually made me lose something big to a gamble platform which wasn't meant to be use for gamble but unfortunately I found myself gambling with the fund and its just disappeared with a twinkling of an eye. This can be tracked to my boredom at home during this self compulsory quarantine period. Frankly saying, am not an addicts but was surprise to see myself falling into what I cautioned many against. I guess maybe some of the popular online gambling sites would see an increase in traffic to their sites, as some gamblers who have never gamble online before are starting to find an alternative way to gamble. Since there are so many online crypto-currencies gambling sites still operating as usual, it would not be difficult for gamblers to find alternative choices for their entertainment.

Overcoming gambling addiction is difficult, it takes time and effort to manage that's why it depends on the mindset of the gambler. They can only resolve their gambling issues if they allow themselves because they are the only person who can make themselves realize how gambling change their lives. There's still a huge possibility that they will continue gambling when casino's are already open just to achieve the satisfaction that they desire.

Many cities are locked down for the coronavirus issues. So, as usual casinos are closed. At this time, we can't play gambling in casino but the guy who really loves gambling or addicted on it he obviously finds another way to play. Another way for this crucial moment is online gambling. Though it is not much interesting as like as real casino but in online we can play gambling at any time we want and it is safe cause we haven't go outside. We can stay at home and play. So, if all casino were stopped for a month that haven't a big issue because we have many online gambling websites.

I agree that nothing would basically change for the people who CAN go to casinos. I mean think about it, why was online casinos created? For people who couldn't go to casinos themselves, not all nations have casinos you can go to, it is illegal in almost everywhere except few places, which is why there is online places you can register and gamble. Now what happened?

People who live in Las Vegas, Monaco, Malta or any other place where you can gamble by going to casino simply just joined the people who didn't lived in a legal place and they are playing online as well like all of others like us who couldn't and just used online places. Hopefully, this doesn't continue too long but even if it does they still have an option and they can continue to gamble like nothing happened.

The pandemic affected a lot of companies and businesses that rely on the demand from the consumers, some have been damaged a lot and might be out of business when the virus is cured, and lets hope that it will be sooner than we exprct.

On the other hand, this might considerably a chance for gambling asdicts to focus on other things, or in their self and family, for me, getting closer to the people that are important to you makes you value life more and more that might be the cure for someone's bad habit.

Maybe this time they are able to realize what is happening to them and might control themselves and hopefully gonna healed from addiction.

What will most gambling addicts do when they can no longer gamble at casinos,
there is no need to think about the answer because obviously they will gamble online unless there is a Guerilla style of Gambling in their community that they can gather in one place and conduct gambling games secretly?
and what do you think they'll do when the casinos reopen in several months from now? Will most of them be finally cured of their gambling addiction, or will most of them return to their old ways?
this is depend on the type of gamblers.

~If addicted?then this one will surely play automatically right after the reopening or casinos

~ if regular gamblers? Then for sure some of them will be cured and may stop gambling or either limit playing habits because they have found Good things more than gambling.

would it be better if this close down of casinos have a good effect on addict gamblers and will finally stop from being addicted  .

im asking it and im stil concern with them knowing that there are still ways to gambling  .

also gambling addiction or simply addiction is not easy to heal or to cure but it takes alot of time  ,  many months and years  .

the longer the casino being closedown the better but im not also wishing that the virus stays longer   . sigh   :-\

To the times like we have now, it sounds like it will give more prioritization to our health and protection from the virus.
I tend to agree with this. IF I'm addicted to gamblers may be at this time it is good to relax and spend the most time with our family members(but make sure you're not infected with covid-19) to have some fun and probably not to get bored while staying at home. It is you who would control your self and have always priority time for your family.

Probably you can gamble online but don't spend your money too much on it. Remember that we don't know when lockdown end and the pandemic virus will get rid of.

As you may know, casinos all over the United States and the world have begun closing their doors to slow down the spread of the Coronavirus. While this has taken a financial toll on casinos, cafes, restaurants and hotels, etc, it has put the kibosh on problem gambling or at least made a serious dent in the lives of hopeless gambling addicts.

unemployment will be another major problem that the world will face after this pandemic

What will most gambling addicts do when they can no longer gamble at casinos, and what do you think they'll do when the casinos reopen in several months from now? Will most of them be finally cured of their gambling addiction, or will most of them return to their old ways?

this is something difficult to answer, we are facing a pandemic where people are forced to stay at home and must change the way they live. it may be that the fact that people who are addicted to games face a new way of living changes their behavior because they will not be able to do the same things they did before the pandemic. I've heard this phrase a lot: "after the pandemic many things will be different ..." and I agree with that.

But on these times, since most of the people are staying home, more gamblers for sure are out there playing online.

But on these times, since most of the people are staying home, more gamblers for sure are out there playing online.

I read a post stating that some gambling site tells they have an increase in numbers of gamblers, well, this is possible as gambling sites are available in any country, and every country people have different earning, if they live in a country that gives good salary, for sure they have some extra money now that they can use in gambling.

The obvious choice that gambling addicts do is to gamble in an online gambling casino if that gambling addict knows about it. Most people even bettors don't have a choice but to gamble on casino since sportsbook are on halt because there is no match going on slat this time because of corona virus.
Addicted gamblers really do everything since they are urge in playing their favorite games, online gambling is their only options due to lockdown
and there's no open casino house.
Online gambling is the best option to those who can't resist playing.

I suspect most people that are truly addicts will just pursue online gambling now that the physical casinos are closed, though it's also true that the online gambling experience is very different from that of physical casinos, and not everyone enjoys online gambling. This sort of shock hopefully might also be enough to snap people out of their current mentalities and realize what they've been doing recently for those suffering from the negatives of gambling.

Some online tournaments for games like CS:GO are still going on last time I checked, and there's always the possibility that some of these people start looking into esports gambling.

If you are a pure gambler and gambling is a daily entertainment you can find ways to continue it.
There are a lot of alternatives to traditional casinos and you can still gambling when you are at home. We all know that in the crypto world there are a lot of crypto casinos with good games that you can have fun when playing.

There is another option since most of the online gambling hasn't closed down their businesses and for sure those addicted gamblers will go there to continue their plays on the available gambling site here. But I believe there's only few physical gamblers will do since some prefer to bet physicality since it has different intensity of adrenaline rush.

As we all know, COVID-19 is still existing in our world and the government made plans to kill this virus and one of their plans is to ban all real life gambling to prevent the risk of spreading the virus, so some gamblers cannot play real life gambling because it is now banned so the best option that gamblers may do is to play online gambling, if the gamblers is really used in gambling, they will make ways to play, it feels them unsatisfied when they dont play for one day.

They still have a chance to playing gambling online, and because they addicted to gambling, it will make them search for the gambling website. And it is not difficult to find the gambling website on the internet, and maybe that will allow them to use crypto because I am sure that while he searches the site, he will see some crypto gambling website advertisement.

When you are a gambler then finding ways to play is easy as long we do have connection. Its rampant online so i would say that stopping will always depend or vary
on a certain person if he would continue online or just wait for the pandemic to be over.

Finding alternatives such as playing online is possible since there are a lot of online gambling sites nowadays that they can choose with, but I doubt that they will conduct their own gambling together with their friends since some might have difficulty to spend their money since the priority right now is to their money to support their needs in this crisis or might not actually participate.

Not sure about the most of them, but a big part will surely quit gambling. The hardest part for addicts is to abstain from gambling for a long enough period of time, like 2 weeks. When that's done they can see that they can live without gambling, finding other attractions, more entertaining and less money consuming.

Again, I'm not talking about all gambling addicts, nor even about most of them. But some problem gamblers will definitely benefit from the quarantine.

Human desire can stop only death, so those who really have an irresistible addiction will continue to play regardless of all obstacles.
As far as I know, several underground casinos already exist in my city. People should be really without willpower if they are ready to go there at the risk of their own health.

They will always find a way.
All of them are welcome in our supported gambling sites here.  ;D
They could start with Yolodice if they want to.
Just need to click my signature and you will be redirected into it. It is fun and the weekly bonuses are getting higher.
They could use BTC, ETH, LTC and Doge. It won't be a problem.

It depends on the country of the gambler if they on lock down they have no way but to play cards with their family but of course there is no money involved, or they have an option to play online but at this point of times where we are in a big crisis we should spend more time with our family or get updates on what's happening around the globe and check the latest developments.

I think most of us will be thinking that gamblers will be finding alternatives to bet or gamble but I don't think they are really gambling right now unless they are doing it online even before the quarantine. I think most of those gamblers that do it in a casino are not actually gambling now but just staying at their homes being bored to death.

Yes, when a person is addicted to gambling, even when the casino is actually closed, they can still find different ways and options to satisfy their psychology, here it may be as you say, the epidemic stops them with actual casinos but it doesn't stop them with online casinos, even many people have organized gambling at home, taking advantage of the chaotic society to avoid the police. But inside the negatives, I also feel this could be an opportunity for gambling addicts to come back, crises and families can change their behaviors and habits

Since everyone are staying in their homes for them to keep their families safe from the virus. I really think that every gamblers are now spending their leisure time in a online casino because all public places were closed, especially the casino, that is why for them to gamble they just need an internet connection and a laptop for them to gamble.

I agree. This pandemic teaches us a lot of things, and bring people together, it looks like humanity has been restored even for a while, and I hope it will remain forever. The health crisis we're facing as of now brings family together, have quality time with our kids, and gives us a lot of time to cherish and love our families because we don't know what will happen next.

What's happening right now is that we're doing all of the things we wanted in order to regret nothing, if we die (hope not) then at least we did everything with out family, even in a short period of time. And about the gamblers, I'm pretty sure they are still making games and bet with their friends online to cure their boredom.

Yes although this pandemic had killed many people, it also teaches us some lessons, like we need to obey our nature and we need to have a compassion towards another, so avoiding a crowd places like casinos is a must, so I recommend that play on internet, there are a lot of gambling sites there, stay at home, you may also feel that thrill when playing even we are at home, so be safe.

Very nice word for those who are suffering from addiction, knowing the value of time and spending it with your loved ones  and not to consume both your money and time to this kind of activities.
Learning to find other way of enjoyment and feel the presence of your families while this pandemic virus are at spread.

It will vary on each person because not everytime time a certain individual would really mind of if they are already addicted or not as long the thing into their minds is
on how to play in spite of the current restriction set by the government since we are facing a pandemic.Closing on physical gambling places wont really be enough
for those people who do like to play and who definitely a gambling addict but for those who do just seldom play offline then it would really be just an optional
thing for them to take.

Absolutely and which is the same on the thing i said above. They would comeback once this is over- 99%.
But there are players will surely stick or decide to play online yet we cant really deny the convenience
when we do play in the comfort of our home.

Yeah there is nothing to be worried about as there are so many other ways to gamble such as online gambling as gamblers also know staying home is really important for them. We can use online gambling websites if we are fond of gambling or if we are addicted to gambling. Better control your emotions and not to trust any fake website for gambling as people are trying to take advantage of gamblers addiction.

Most casinos are indeed closed, because there are countries that are getting worse. Although it's sometimes different, play directly in the casino and play gambling online.

Let no one think that he cannot do without something a week,
There is nothing any addict got to do than to comply with the instructions of staying indoor. They will all survive it consciously or unconsciously. This is one of the best medium to caution yourself of that habit. Inability to go to the casino hall will mean you can break the addiction and live.

If they were instructed to be inside of their homes then theres nothing they can do but to obey and stay but it doesnt mean that they would completely restrict out theirselves on playing gambling.
They might not able to play on physical places but they do still have access on online gambling sites which means in the talks of quitting their addiction is still not sure since they do
still able to play in spite of the current situation. They will surely go back whenever this situation would already be resolved.

The closing of the casino is not a problem for gambling players.
as long as the internet is still there, all that can be done by playing online gambling.  Especially lately a lot of online gambling is promoted in this forum, we just look for online gambling what we want to play.
Maybe what will become a problem for gambling players who are addicted is the absence of the internet when a lockdown applies like this.

I agree with you. They just move from physical gambling places to online gambling sites, it seems not very different. As they still do the same activities (playing gambling), I think the addicts have no problem with the current situation. Surely they will think easily to stay at home temporarily with the same habits, and they will come back to physical gambling places once the Coronavirus is over. Even, this situation makes them possibly have two kinds of activities then, physical + online gamblings.  :D

Online gambling is the best alternative which I think prevent several people to use their fiat money diverted into digital currency efficiently. It's more fun and can be enjoyed at home without sacrificing themselves of being contracted with the said transmittable corona virus.

How about those players who do not know online gambling? Because they are always play to the casino place maybe they don't have any idea even they have know they did not know how to start unless they have friend that can teach them maybe they are playing right now and yes we don't have any problems because we can play anytime from now.

I guess majority of the people under lock down quarantine have enough time to read and learn how to gamble online. However, that ain't gonna be the thing to be worried about in this dire situation. Just stay at home, stay safe If you still want to survive this pandemic for you to be able to continue gambling in the casinos after this health crisis.
Yet, I know these gamblers find their way to engage in gambling online. It ain't that hard after the first attempt though.

When the coronavirus spreads throughout the world. Many countries has an order to have a community lock down with has a greater number of infected person, that’s why many businesses and any entertainment places are closed temporarily.  The good essence of this lock down is to have bonding with your family and have a strong faith to God that this crisis will end up soon. Many gamblers are using their time with family and to have bonding with each other, because as we all know that we are all a busy person that’s why we forget to have bonding with our families. It’s a perfect moment to use our time now to have bonding with our family.

Not all I guess because some just only focus in one game, and if they have been gambling in physical casinos all their life, they might not be able to enjoy online gambling casino and not everyone are really educated on how to use an online gambling casino, some would not trust it and some are not open to learn online gambling.. For me, if a person is already addicted, I think this situation would help him if he can't find an option to gamble.

I don't quite agree here. For most gamblers, even offline casino gamblers, it will be easier to find any option to gamble than start fighting the addiction when it is not nessesary to even fight it. There is not any difficulty to play online casino, really. During lockdown they have a lot of time for learning how to use search engines, how to find trusted online casinos, how to deposit. Quite the opposite, this is a good time to "evolve" addiction further by opening new horizons of gambling. But this is simultaneously a good time to start using bitcoin as one of the basic currency of online gambling, spreading adoption of real money, not paper one.

The logic is to spend time in casinos but the physical casinos are better choice for gambling addicters compared to the online casinos. The BTC and crypto based gambling websites provide a alternative for addciters who will not refuse to take chance of enjoying spent time in slots. The gambler can use both real money in the physical casinos and the digital money in the blockchain based casinos depending on the preference.

Offline casinos are indeed bringing a lot of emotions and they are fun to play in. When epidemia is over and physical casinos are back to work, gamblers will continue to be addicted to them. Naturally, the gambling addiction won't fade because of closing of casinos. That's for sure. The main thing here that theirs switching to online gambling is going to help adoption of cryptocurrency and bitcoin gambling to spread even more. No one can restrain deposits with crypto. Meanwhile, banking transaction may be stopped or be controlled during pandemic to prevent some unnatural activity.

As an addict, you either atop to gamble or increase your addiction along the line. Gamblers are quite greedy when it come to money online or when their is tendency of doubling money. The closure of these casinos will actually divert the attentions of these sect to a different thing entirely, like gambling in the neighborhood with co-gamblers. This has happened in our neighborhood several time and still happening. An addict gambler is a gambler and will do anything to satisfy their conscience. They always found a way out of their boredom around the industry.

So far, I never read a theory if a person can only focus on 1 game. Everybody is possible to play another game and focus on multi-games. So, a gambler surely has a chance to enjoy online gambling besides physical gambling.

not everyone are really educated on how to use an online gambling casino, some would not trust it and some are not open to learn online gambling.
If you said some, it means some other are possible to learn online gamblings. However, I didn't find out research stated: "physical gamblers dislike online gambling". I'm pretty sure that now is the right time for those physical gamblers try to learn online gambling.

For me, if a person is already addicted, I think this situation would help him if he can't find an option to gamble.
I doubt they don't have an option to gamble. There are many things to be an alternative as a gambling game in this situation. Moreover, online gambling is absolutely a true option for addicts to stay in their habits.

You forget the most important reason for this lockdown.

The whole reason for this lockdown is to contain the virus and lessen the casualties. Having those long time bonding with your family is just the effect of this lockdown. It is true though that we should use our time to bond with our family, also because of this pandemic, Mother Nature is regenerating bringing positive results throughout the lockdown.

Either they will stop temporarily or they will find a way just to gamble.

An addicted gambler will always find a way to gamble even though there is a problem like this that casinos are already closed. One way for them to satisfy themselves is thru online gambling. Online gambling have increased their revenue already because of the casinos that were closed because of the virus. Some of the gamblers spend their time gambling online and chatting with other people.

On the other hand, the gambler can stop gambling temporarily and focus his attention to his family or other things like learning other things or playing video games maybe or watching anime. This also helps the gambler to reduce his addiction to gambling and maybe it can be a way for him to stop gambling at all.

Definitely they will find another way to gamble since stopping is not considered as an option for them because of addiction. If this quarantine will stay longer and those gambling addicts have no choice but to stay home, it might help them to recover and discover some other recreational things that might benefit their health status. Family bonding is also an option, recovery is fast when those loved ones are there for you to support and making happy moments with them.

I play video games also but obviously it requires also self-control and discipline 'cause maybe he became a video game addict from a gambling addict.

Will they do their own therapy to eliminate gambling addiction when quarantine, it is difficult to stop gambling because they remain online gambling as an alternative. But if you recover from gambling addicts, take advantage of quarantine time for your family because every moment will be very valuable later.

You're right, the current situation with coronavirus shoud become a good lesson for those who have been addicted to gambling for long time. It's a perfect moment to reconsider your life goals and try to recover from addiction or at least  reduce time which you usually spend playing casinos. During hard times it is important to better manage your spendings, focus on people you care, may be start reading books about bitcoin and blockchain. In my opinion, it might work for some people who still addicted and don't know how to deal with quarantine time, which is, by the way, going to be very long.

Agree, Quarantine will help them to spend some time with their family, but a person who addicts to online gambling will help them gamble without any restrictions. A person who manages both will always live happily with their family, everything is based on the person's attitude how he manages.

Gambling is meant to have fun whenever you want so if someone gambling and also doing all of his activities well then he is example for how a gambler should be but in reality even if people gamble online still they got affected mentally when they lose their money too much which makes them to stay away from anyone even if they are living with their family.

For gambling addicts, I'm sure they will find a way to continue their addiction, be it online casino, or fly by night tournaments. But for some casuals gamblers, I will definitely think that they won't risk and will simply stop until everything subsides.

They can still also go online, but then again, we all know that we need to prioritized at this time. So for average gamblers, they can simply quit, simply as that. Or even play with their friends and families in this lock down and can still enjoy it without any big money involved.

I agree,

It depends on the addiction level of the gambler of what they will possibly do right now. Aside from that, I think it depends on the financial status since casual gamblers will think and prioritize their needs instead of burning their money in gambling as of this moment.

It wil be difficult for those who physically wants to be present to play the game for those addicted individuals as they can to get the same feeling online and may just not even play that way . But yes those who want to get rid this is the best time one can utilise for and have some quality time send with their family and speak to friends.

If he really want gambling out of his system, he seriously need to talk with his family members. He needs full support from his family as sometimes you can't do it alone. With the family supporting you, they will be aware of things of not to do and give activities that will make you stay away as much as possible from any gambling activity. It would be hard but I think this time is really good opportunity to address this if the gambler is sincere in changing his lifestyle..The family is not busy with their own things as all of you are in quarantine.

Either stop or continue.

Stop - gambling addicts can stop gambling for a moment and spend their time to other things like their family etc. but they are an addicted ones. Addicted ones doesn't stop gambling in an instant. It will took a long time for them to stop unless they can control themselves even they are addicted into gambling.

Continue - I'm afraid that they will still continue to gamble online thru online gambling sites. I can't blame them if that is what they want but if you really want to gamble in times of crisis, make sure that it is spare money and will not affect somebody if it loses (which is most of the time happens).

It is either they take this chance as a step on stopping or avoiding gambling, consider home quarantine as a rehab, or they switch to online casinos as an alternative. No one knows how long the pandemic will last and people are forced to stay at home to avoid the spread. This will be difficult but I hope this pandemic will somehow be beneficial to those who are suffering from addiction.

That isn't a practical way of spending your money while in the midst of crisis, and I recommend to those gamblers like me to minimize their gambling activities even if it's virtual online betting. Though it's not that involving huge amout of money, but the possibility of being addicted is always prone to happen always.

What will most gambling addicts do when they can no longer gamble at casinos, and what do you think they'll do when the casinos reopen in several months from now? Will most of them be finally cured of their gambling addiction, or will most of them return to their old ways?

If they  can reflect and they can ask for help from family and professional there is a good chance that they will become a reform gambler, but if they just busy themselves to gaming or whatever, the urge to gamble will be back once the casinos open, cutting them from gambling is a good way to stop gambling but without further help from professional it's going to be useless.

This is a common or a frequently asked question during this pandemic. And the answer is always simple, do other mediums. There are a lot of ways to play casino-like games and simulations, and even you smartphone can play casino/poker with a real life money betting involved. There are numerous simulations of casinos and gambling that whenever you searched for gambling or casino in any SEOs, there will always be an advertisement that offers an online platform. Addiction isn't simply on the physical one, it is also addiction to the satisfaction those Gambling addicts feel every time they play.

You are right, the answer is quite simple and clear enough. We all know there are many other alternatives, and I think the most appropriate alternative is playing online gambling. The activity will be the same, the games seem relatively the same. So, the addicts will still enjoy gambling games almost like they play in physical gambling places.

It is true, there are so many alternatives that they can do but the most efficient way for them is to play online gambling. Though it might be different from the vibe they feel when they are inside the gambling house but the activity is indeed the same.

Well some will go to online casinos, some will just gamble with their reachable friends and of course some will stop. I think it has a positive effect to those gamblers that are addicted on playing. Since they have no other choice but to stay at home, they also have no choice but to stop gambling. At least they will have time to their family. Each day that passes without gambling, they may realize that still there's life without gambling.

so far it is only the best way to do online casino or online gambling because if visiting a gambling place will have the effect of transmitting the corona virus to spread and become active again, for the sake of suppressing this spread it is better to stay at home and enjoy it with your family.

I am pretty much sure that addicts have shifted to o line casinos and are busy spending a lot of thier time infront of their computer. Those who are not computer savvy might have tried learning on how to use them?

Many of these addicts might not be happy on how these online gambling sites operate, some I am pretty sure are totally confused with the interface.

As far as I know, a big part of gambling addicts that play in land-based casinos never gamble online for various reasons. One of them is that they "don't trust the Internet"(this especially refers to older guys, 50+). Another one is that they are addicted to the  environment, or the "aura", of physical casinos. Online gambling can't satisfy such people, because it's a pretty different experience.

You are right, in my place also some people do not want to play online gambling, there is no real casino.  People here when betting football usually collect cash to third parties, and if the winner has been found then the third party gives cash to the winner, here I often find gambling like that.

The casino is close but we have online games where they could still gamble. It is probably that they are switching now into online gambling and even having this outbreak, this could never help them to realize their doings.

Hm, interesting. Do they charge anything for escrowing the money? I thought those kinds of bets were a thing of the past. But if gambling is prohibited completely in your place, it's possible, I guess. True gamblers will always find a way. :)

Regarding the question in the title, we'll know the answer in a year, when the stats for 2020 will be available.

This is a common or a frequently asked question during this pandemic. And the answer is always simple, do other mediums. There are a lot of ways to play casino-like games and simulations, and even you smartphone can play casino/poker with a real life money betting involved. There are numerous simulations of casinos and gambling that whenever you searched for gambling or casino in any SEOs, there will always be an advertisement that offers an online platform. Addiction isn't simply on the physical one, it is also addiction to the satisfaction those Gambling addicts feel every time they play.

The gambling addicts does not have much issues by the lock down of gambling casinos. They can play the same games through online gambling so practically nothing is changed for them. The only exception will be those who do not have their own computer or internet at home.

Right since although not all prefer to gamble online but nI will agree with you that true gamblers will find ways since for sure they will miss the feelings to bet on their favorite games especially if they play poker and its available online so might they will give a shot especially now a days gamblers are at home bored from things inside their houses.

Here in India, some of the casinos are operating illegally (first of all, casinos are banned everywhere in India, except a few rare exceptions such as Goa. So even before the COVID 19 epidemic, they were operating without a license). The cops have raided a couple of such illegal casinos and arrested dozens of people who were indulging in gambling. I guess hardcore gamblers are taking this risky step, as they don't find online gambling exciting enough.

If I were to put myself in the shoes of a gambling addict, I will probably find a way to get my fix, checking online casinos to play, and watching poker matches or playing poker matches. I do not think that there will be gamblers who will be rehabilitated because they will be finding a way to gamble. Nothing beats professional help that will surely help this people and do not forget that there will gambling operations that are illegal and are ready to operate and surely will attract flocks of people, this is not an individual problem, this is societal problem.

That's the problem to those who are really addicted to this business, they are willing to take the risk even they are risking their own life, with covid spread out and those people are still doing this illegal act, probably it's the evidence that they are really engaged and addicted to gambling. t's better to take care of your life instead of continuing to seek for possible place to continue gambling and risk your life as the virus still out there.

They should be reminded that crowded place such as casino is totally prohibited. Well they do deserved to be jail or pay any fine for doing so. People nowadays cant really control themselves with regards to gambling addiction. They should push themselve that online gambling site is the alternative for their daily gambling routine. Well if thats not enough then its their own problem already.

Not really much choice on OP's question but do online or yet just totally stop.

right, I think they will not be free from gambling addiction. because of the coronavirus epidemic, casino is stop. even many cities are locked down due this coronavirus. but who are addicted on gambling, they obviously will try find another way to gamble. maybe they will play online or try to go to the casino in a dishonest way.

Sooner or later, those people will found a way to use the internet to continue playing gambling, but they cannot bet at the sports because all of the sporting events are cancel without an unknown time when it will reschedule. Or they still come to one place to play gambling without thinking about the warning from their government. If that happens, then their government should be worry if the infected people will increase because they don't stay in their homes but going to one place.

I guess they can't wait for the lockdown to be over so they've taken the risk already and still gamble on the casinos who are operating right now even though it is illegal already.

This shows just how addiction in gambling can do. There are some reasons why they are doing this. One is that they want to be enjoyed and to have some entertainment as they are always gamble, their mind has been set to a mindset that they must gamble whatever happens to complete their day. Another is that probably some of them see gambling as a way to get profits to buy anything they need so they took the risk and went there even though social distancing is imposed. Another is that they don't see online gambling that enjoyable so they choose to go to a casino and since they are addicted into it already, they can risk anything just to gamble.

The worst part is that by visiting those illegal casinos during the quarantine they are not only risking their own lives, but also the lives of many others. They might be not killed by the virus themselves, but older people around them have big chances of being the victims. In short, going to illegal casinos is manyfold more irresponsible today than it was previously. If they don't like online gambling, it's fine, they can stop gambling completely, at least for time of the quarantine, but they surely have no excuses for visiting crowded underground casinos these days.

It is most likely they are getting bored by now or they are probably having room to Gamble online and feel comfortable with. May others will think that they are stopping( I hope they will) but probably they won't. Gambling addicts won't find their comfort zone if they can't gamble and I believe that they have to find a way in order to please themselves as the crisis continue.

for people who do consider on visiting out those crowded place and into its owners they are just too much greedy and risking  every lives of

People who do visit out in spite of the danger are total fools that cant even control theirselves on not to play gambling.

^ They won't for sure, not a gambling addict but a person who treat gambling as a daily habit. There are too many ways to find alternate just to gamble even not in a real casinos. Most probably they are now in online casinos because it is easy to access while at home even also you are doing self-isolation. Nevertheless, as of now, they have enough time for their family for sure and sometimes they will say, thank you for the coronavirus.

An addict is an addict no matter what happened to them in a close door or outdoor. Traditional platforms have been closed doesn't mean that online casinos gambling platforms are closed likewise, so, the gambling addiction.continue while at home on a lockdown. Though am not an addict but still gamble while staying at home. Some of my friends who were involved in traditional gambling have now drifted to the online casinos.

What I believed in this recent lockdown stay at home is: this process will increase more addiction in those who were addicted before the lockdown and this will have negative impacts on gamblers after the lift of this lockdown.

Since we already have our modern technology right now, probably those gambling addicts you were pertaining are already starting to engage into playing gambling through the use of online casinos as their playing platform just to sustain their wants to play. That is a possible thing those people are currently doing at this point of time to still continue their routine on playing gambling. With regards to what they will do once casinos are open once again after lockdown, then it depends if they are already contented on playing at online casinos or they would still prefer playing at physical casinos or have already controlled their urge to play gambling at all because of the lockdown.

We have the same sentiments. Once you are addicted to something, it's hard to change it even if you are willing to change. Now because of the lockdown, gambling addicts were forced to stop gambling and stay at home. They don't even want to stop, yet they are being forced to stop because of the virus spreading. This may trigger their emotions to gamble more because something is stopping them to do what they want. Most addicts will do anything just to get what they want, it means that they will find ways to gamble even inside their houses. They can gamble online. And after this whole quarantine, they will go back to gambling.

In my country, people were caught cockfighting even when there is a ban and lockdown. They end up getting arrested for violating, and their chickens end up getting cooked for the frontliners. Probably because they want to but can't do it due to the virus. They are willing to risk their safety and health just to do what they want.

I wonder how people are able to travel in a lockdown even if the illegal casinos are open, not sure how things work in these countries but if the police is vigilant then they could counter these idiots as majority are sitting at home.

There might be physiological affects because everyone is forced to sit at home as no one has experienced that in their life time but if someone gets addicted to gambling because they are forced to sit at home, then they will be addicted even during normal circumstance. If something takes hold of your life because of addiction then you need medical attention.

These people are either really stupid or don't care much about others. I am sure, the most of them is the latter. There is no justification for the gambling addiction because it is not only their matter anymore but the matter of all non-addicted people around them. People are in danger when contacting those zombies whose only wish is placing bets or pulling the lever. Don't be an idiot and try to stop runinng around or atleast try some games online. Luckly, there are a lot of offers on the Internet, you can play whatever you want, but do it alone.

We can hope that they will spend their time with their family, they will try to make a new habit with their family, and they will try to forget that they have addicted to gambling before. It is a new life for them because I think it will be different for them to feel what the family are because they don't feel it when they are often to go to the casino. In their home, they can talk with their family, share anything they know, they are taken care of each other while they can have fun together by doing something. That is what I always pray to every addicted gambler so they can start a new life with their family. They will learn and know that their family is the most important thing in their life.

I doubt your submission, we'll know that, addiction come through by doing a particular thing repeatedly IMO, if this is true, then, there is a possibility of many individuals getting addicted to gambling, most especially those who have been gambling and doing other jobs alongside their hustle. Lockdown here is not friendly mate, the only thing most of my friends are doing right now is engaging themselves on online gambling platforms. This has actually affected some of them because they spend all their time gambling online.

Sad to hear this: their parents called me few days ago to help talk to them on limiting their times spent on online gambling platforms. These are friends who before the lockdown go about their normal hustle but forced to stay at home has changed their ways of doing things (gambling) and this is gradually going to addiction if not check by parent.

Highest form of irresponsible on the part of these sect of gamblers. Their life worth more than the cents they're going to get from this. Nobody with his or her right sense would think of going out when the government made announcement about this monster called Coronavirus as a wild fire in spreading among humans.

This is a clear case of gambling addiction and they should be quarantine for seven days and after that seek medical advise for them to cushion their level of addiction. Probably, after testing negative they should be taking to the correctional centers across the country. This will make them responsible citizens again.  ;D

Perhaps their attention would be directed to other things if there weren’t so many opportunities around allowing them to go about their addiction.
Too many variations of online gambling. Dependents simply have no choice, it is almost impossible for them to break out of the arms of those who provide these services.

Yes, there is no time to late to start a new habit for people who already have addicted to gambling. They can begin to it anytime with their family or relatives so they can distract their mind about thinking to gamble. If they can use their time to do so many positive things for their life, I am sure they will have a chance to change their life to better. We need to help that person to solve his problem in addictions to gambling so they can start a new life with their family, and they deserve to get the second chance to start a new life.

Well, it is really evident that the lock down has a positive impacts too. Gamblers deserve to have a rest and I think it could as well make the gambling addicts have a free rehabilitation right? because they don't have any way to play especially if they are into sports betting. But if they will try to play card games, I am sure they will find atleast one gambling site.

If that is the case I advise them to try cryptocurreny gambling sites, well, the perks is that, as short as 2mins, they can double their bets without the risk of virus because of contact.

I think they most probably will adjust to online gambling because once a gambler always a gambler.Nowadays internet access is easily available to most of world population and they will read tutorials about playing and gambling online.Even if they cannot do it themselves they will find other people to set up accounts for them.I find very difficult for gambling addicts not to adjust to just another form of gambling.

There are no risk playing in offline casino but pure enjoyment, and as this lockdown is still on going, there are players who play in many gambling platform or online casinos. I believed that those who are used to physical gambling will switch into online gambling because they have no choice. No one is allowed to go outside most especially if you're not included in the frontliners in our community, that's why physical gambling casinos are closed and those who are caught travelling going to casino will be punished by the authority. I suggest you to spend you time playing in offline casino and play against an AI or CPU and if you want to be challenged, then changed the difficulty in to the highest level. Plus, there's no money to be spend if you lose, it is just for entertainment and to practice your gambling skills.

I don't know with other countries but here in my place it seems it is the opposite. There are so many gamblers who are hard-time fanatics of their specific gambling hobby that it is either that or nothing at all. I don't know, perhaps it is not really gambling itself that attracts them but more of the game. I have known people who are only playing Mahjong, for example, and not other games. There are also those who are hard fans of cockfighting that even if there is a very strict policy prohibiting gatherings during this time of physical distancing, they're sneaking out and hold matches in the hidden corners of the cemetery or even at the rooftop. They simply cannot take a break from it or enjoy other forms of gambling.

Or perhaps these are the old gamblers who are not really open to doing their thing online. It must be boring to them sitting all alone facing the computer where interaction is limited into chat boxes. These are hardcore gamblers but more like hobbyists than just pure gamblers.

Well that's their only escape, online gambling is the best alternative to contribute also something to the community, staying at home is a big help to everyone, for the virus not to spread any further, to cure this pandemic as fast as possible. I also don't know if playing gambling will cure their boredom but I guess it's fine as long as you have the privilege to do so, but for me, I donated some money to my country men to help those family who can't even have 3 meals a day because of poverty.

That's why restoring the humanity in this moment is very needed. I'm not saying you should also donate some money instead of using it on gambling but I'm just giving you an idea to help, for you guys also to get out of your room, because the many people donating help, the easier we could defeat this disease.

Since all casinos are temporarily closed due to the pandemic of covid-19, i think this is the best time for them to solve their addiction problem in gambling because they can easily stay away from gambling and they have a chance to change their hobby in exchange for gambling like working out and doing chores. But if they really want to gamble they are a lot of crypto casinos or online gambling site for the to continue their hobby as a gambler.

People who have been spending their time on online casinos and physical casinos have now begun to spend time with their loved ones. One of my friend who have been into sports betting has been spending time with his girl playing cards and chess. Even I tried the same, and truly speaking the time is passing like anything. Some has started to do craft works as we've got YouTube and other platforms giving classes and DIY contents.
I have so many realization because of this, and I don’t think if I can go to casino and play again. I felt the love, and happiness on my family, the thing that most gambler are looking into the casinos, the entertainment. Though I still play online, but not that much I’m more on focus to spend my time with my family right now.

I do not have exact (accurate) data but I am sure that 60% Gambling addicts (Offline casino) switch to Online Casino and the other 40% gambling addict stop gambling for a while.  when this "PANDEMIC" ends, they (gambling addicts) will start flooding the casino again..

In my country, people were caught cockfighting even when there is a ban and lockdown. They end up getting arrested for violating, and their chickens end up getting cooked for the frontliners. Probably because they want to but can't do it due to the virus. They are willing to risk their safety and health just to do what they want.

This will make them responsible citizens again.  ;D

The longer this quarantine takes, the more gamblers would risk their lives and even willing to go against the law because they want to gamble. I have been seeing more news about gamblers getting arrested in my country during the quarantine. And these gamblers were either in the lower class or lower middle class. They depend on the government's assistance during the lockdown, yet they are using their money to gamble. How ironic that you don't have sufficient money to feed your family but you have money to gamble in the midst of a calamity.

Maybe this whole quarantine can really trigger gamblers to gamble because they are being forced not to gamble.

If you have ever known a person that has been addicted to something you will know the answer to that, those that are addicted will always find a way to keep their addiction going on, as such one option for those people could be to try online gambling, before this crisis almost no casino in my community had an online casino but now at least two of them have one so addicted gamblers could keep their addiction going on that way, another thing they may try is that there are underground casinos that are not respecting the quarantine and they could play there as well, so as you can see I do not think the quarantine is going to have any effect in those that are addicted to gambling at all.

Don't be an idiot and try to stop runinng around or atleast try some games online. Luckly, there are a lot of offers on the Internet, you can play whatever you want, but do it alone.
Yup, rather than being an idiot and putting their family in danger they should spend time gambling online rather than risking the life of your loved ones just for the adrenaline rush. Most of the online casino will see an increased amount of user base during this lockdown as we do not have any other work to do other than sitting at home.

~snip
I doubt your submission, we'll know that, addiction come through by doing a particular thing repeatedly IMO, if this is true, then, there is a possibility of many individuals getting addicted to gambling,
What i said was that if you have an inclination on getting addicted in your DNA, be it cigar, alcohol, gambling, porn anything else it may be, you will be addicted, right now most of the younger generation are addicted to gaming and it will create an unhealthy population as it will affect their education and can even ruin your life and this forced lockdown will have an psychological impact on the population.

Right since although not all prefer to gamble online but nI will agree with you that true gamblers will find ways since for sure they will miss the feelings to bet on their favorite games especially if they play poker and its available online so might they will give a shot especially now a days gamblers are at home bored from things inside their houses.

Yeah exactly people who are addicted to gambling will surely find an alternative way of gambling and that is online gambling. I think now online gambling sites will experience burden on their sites as people who want to gamble will start online gambling. And apart from it we have so many other activities in this lock Down as we can help the needy and poor people by providing them food.

Your statement is a bit confusing. At the beginning, you said "the gamblers can easily stay away from gambling due to many physical casinos closed temporarily". But in the end, you stated "there are a lot online gambling sites if they want to gamble". So, it means they don't change their habits if they still play gambling through online gambling sites. How can they solve their problems if there is no change in activity.  ???

These people are either really stupid or don't care much about others. I am sure, the most of them is the latter. There is no justification for the gambling addiction because it is not only their matter anymore but the matter of all non-addicted people around them. People are in danger when contacting those zombies whose only wish is placing bets or pulling the lever. Don't be an idiot and try to stop runinng around or atleast try some games online. Luckly, there are a lot of offers on the Internet, you can play whatever you want, but do it alone.

What the governments should have been doing, if they cared about their people, is explaining where to watch movies online without catching a malware and where to gamble online without being scammed. Many people who don't trust the Internet(and for some valid reasons, I would say), need this kind of information desperately today, during the quarantine.

There is a tendency that some of them would engage to online gambling if they are really that addicted into the activity but some would be forced to resist their urge to play because there are things which should be prioritized at this moment such as things regarding daily needs, given that there are shortage wuth the supplies in some places, so they would more likely choose between dying out of starvation- worst if their government is not effective to aid such situation. Some will just jave no choice but not to, since there are companies who are not paying their employees due to the policy of "no work, no pay".

Bottomline is that, those gambling addicts who still have the privilege to do their own 'thing' will just continue, and those who are less privileged will be forced to stop until this problem is solved but if they are really that addicted, they would again engage to the same activity once situations are back to what is 'normal'.

Eclipse26 you are right, everything depends on individual situation, while some will find alternative in
online gambling or some private gambling, others will stay without options and they will be forced to
stop gambling, which is a good thing for addicts I guess.
Aside from addicts, I think that many regular gamblers will choose online gambling option. And after
this ends I assume that many will stay with online gambling, just as I did.

Yeah internet is full of so many useful videos that gamblers can watch to spend their time constructively so better not to be worry about corintine but instead of it we should spend time for learning about gambling skills or should find some trust worthy gaming sites that can be safe to gamble online and earn money safelt through online gambling.

Firstly, most people in civilized countries are familiar with streaming services like Netflix for example, so people interested in watching movies can do that without catching malware. What governments should do here is to help their citizens to pay for a subscription, because the unemployment rate is currently growing, while not everyone is receiving unemployment benefits. Secondly, users themselves should search for gambling websites on which they want to play. No government can help here, they'd rather ban all online casino ads so people don't lose money in times like this. Fortunately for gamblers, there are lot of places they can visit in order to find information about particular online casinos, for example, this forum has many experienced gamblers whose advice can be useful for inexperienced ones.

I already have seen that younger generation addicted to gaming because some of my nephews are also playing gaming. I think technology gives a positive and negative effect on the young ages, and some of them cannot filter with the right. Maybe there is a young gambler too besides they are playing gaming because when someone is often playing gaming or gambling, they will be back to play it in another time. And if they cannot play because of these situations, they will search the other way to keep playing.

This is one of the biggest problems with this lockdown, under normal circumstances we could fill our free time with many activities but now a great deal of the things you would do if you were in a vacation are not available anymore and many people are feeling these limitations, so those that like to gamble may feel they have nothing else to do but to keep gambling and those that already have problems may face even bigger challenges as they do not have to do their normal activities that in a way naturally limited the time and money they could spend gambling.

plain and simple, people will pursue online and alternative betting sites to satisfy their needs to play and bet. Considering a gambling addicted person, it is really hard for him to let a day passed without betting and experiencing a good win. Even I, tried to find sweepstakes online because physical lotteries are closed due to the crisis, but I am so happy that I've found more than what I want.

There's really nothing bad if this are happening, the transition of gambling players from physical casino to online will provide us more volume of cryptocurrencies circulated in the market, in short, more people, more demand, higher price of bitcoin.

What governments should do here is to help their citizens to pay for a subscription, because the unemployment rate is currently growing, while not everyone is receiving unemployment benefits.

Right, Netflix isn't free, as you know it yourself. It costs from $9(Basic) to $16(Premium) per month, and if you tried it, you know that not all famous movies and TV series you can find there, actually far from that. So, only Netflix is definitely not enough. You need to subscribe to 2 or 3 similar services, maybe to Hulu and Amazon Prime, apart from Netflix, and you can end up with something above $40 per month, which is not negligible money for many people in the world. And you are right, in times like these, governments should help their citizens. They should say: "Go to Netflix/Hulu/HBO/Disney Plus/etc. subscribe, and we'll compensate you the money.

With gambling it's easier(for the government). They just need to keep track of the existing reliable gambling sites and provide links to them on some official government page. I personally wouldn't suggest users, who have never played online before, to search for gambling sites by themselves.

at present, playing games is not a time-wasting activity...
e-sports tournaments make playing games a golden opportunity. and if it alludes to gambling addicts, I think they must have switched to online gambling, they won't be that easy to stop even though this outbreak makes many offline casinos close.
