Title: Locked Account
Post by: Bspin_io on March 27, 2020, 08:27:04 PM
Hi,

Can someone help me unlock an account.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2231714

I believe my IP has been locked as well as I wasn't able to access any part of the forum without the notice of being locked out.

Or at least provide a reason why it has been locked?

Much appreciated!

Usually, you can unlock it by following this thread: Recovering hacked/lost accounts (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5089777.0)

If you get a message similar to "your account is locked"

You should be given an email address in the error message. Send an email there and you will be given further instructions.

Your account has been locked because you tried to change its password via secret question.

Today at 12:02:36 AM - Bspin.io - password reset via secret question

Contact the recovery team via email and make sure to sign a message using a staked bitcoin address (or any address from one of your unedited posts)

This is a Public Service Announcement:

If you lose your password, DO NOT USE THE SECRET QUESTION TO RECOVER THE ACCOUNT. It will result in your account being locked. Please use the email recovery option to recover the account.

Multiple passwords reset via secret questions in Bpip log so it seems your account has been locked due to this.

Now you have to wait for the unlock after completing the above methods.

As @Findingnemo said, the account is locked because you reset the password using Secret Question and you do it up to 4 times.

I have also experienced the same thing, I peeled my password and tried to recover it through the Secret Question.

But when I want to go into an account that is locked I am confronted with Email information that we can contact to open an account that is locked. and it worked.

I contacted via the same email with the account that is locked and responded well, after I waited for about 2 days, the account can be opened again.

Thank you! I sent an email to that contact provided. But not sure if it has to be from the same email sent as the account was registered with?

Didn't get a reply so far. But let's wait!

It would be better if you could send it from the original email. It is more credible that way. At least send it from the email address currently associated with your account and not a new one totally unrelated to it.

You should send your account recovery request from the email you used to register that account.

Fortunately, it is not the only way to prove your ownership. The team will have many methods to ask you (some kind of private questions, I guess).

For future convenience, I give you an advice to sign a message from your bitcoin address and stake it at Stake your Bitcoin address here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0)

Signed address will be one of the strongest proof for your ownership.
