Title: game-protect, is he permanently banned?
Post by: OcTradism on March 28, 2020, 10:22:04 AM
I see game-protect (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=874254), and find that his signature space is empty. Last post was made on March 03, 2020, 12:49:44 AM, and last active day is on March 16, 2020, 10:40:12 PM. So was he permanently banned, finally?

Previously, I saw him made many spam in gambling board, spreading over many gambling ANN threads with his biggest interests are attacking casinos and their licenses.

Yes, he has been banned. https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=game-protect
The modlog shows no info about the ban so it wasn't done in the last few days. Maybe we will see a thread by him in Meta complaining about the ban.

Perm-ban, right? And temp-bans are not shown on BPIP?

Thanks.
Eventually, he was banned, not because of his trolling, but because of plagiarism. With that evidence, his ban is a perm-ban. :D

Game-protect was banned on March 3.

Yes.
BPIP (https://bpip.org) extracts all data from modlog (https://bitcointalk.org/modlog.php).
As modlog (https://bitcointalk.org/modlog.php) only shows permanent bans, BPIP (https://bpip.org) has no info about temporary bans.

I don't think GP is banned because of that, they said it is "real world definition", not their words. It might be something related to blackmailing theymos to remove flags or else.

Whatever it was, good riddance.  That member was nothing but a bundle of problems for everyone else.

Somehow I have a feeling that the person behind the gameprotect account has too much invested in the forum and will return with an alt account eventually (if that hasn't happened already).  Hopefully if that happens, it'll be caught by the fine forum detectives we have--but we'll see.

Whatever the cause is, he was banned permanently, since 3 March. His intensity for bans has increased recent months, first temp ban, second temp ban, and that one is a perm one. I don't know he was 3rd temp banned before that perm ban or not. Maybe he was not get a 3rd temp ban. Jump directly from 2nd temp ban to perm ban.

As suchmoon mentioned on this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5227426.20)...

The OP has been permabanned. He was trying hard to earn that ban - posted about 10 of these messages (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5227426.msg53952064#msg53952064) yesterday in random gambling threads. Not sure if that did it but with two prior temp bans it was about time.

And of course, you can always read his/her version of the events here (https://game-protect.com/bitcointalk-scam)

game-protect had two strikes (prior temp bans) so it could have been something simple - like spamming/multiposting - to trigger the perma ban. As Csmiami mentioned the ban followed a burst of posts across multiple threads.

Whatever it was - well deserved.

He also kept threatening/doxing Theymos.  There's a funny post on his website about the whole thing.  Probably shouldn't link it though.

In these difficult times of global pandemy, it's one of the best news that I saw recently. game-protect was one of the worst Bitcointalk members. I hope he isn't going back with alt account...

I’m sure he’ll be back with an alt but he won’t be able to scam people with his ‘service’.

Big News!
I think this topic may get most attention in bitcointalk forum (after global pandemic thing).
I am 100% sure GP story will not end here, and soon we can expect to see him as GP2 undertaker.

That deserves him right.

The spam he does on every trust page is huge I'm just hoping that all of it will be removed too since he has been permanently banned now. Was that even allowed or does a case happened before?

As we now got rid of game-protect maybe its possible we get rid of from his spamming stupid feedbacks he have given a lot of users for no reason!

Who cares about the trust spam, just don't bother. The feedback should stay as a proof of the wrongdoing of the banned user. My whole wall is read by two banned accounts but i don't really care about it ;)

Finally, GP has been banned.

He gave and spam negative feedback to those members who supported the flag created by marlboroza and h4ns.
It's nonsense feedback and discriminating users by calling "extremely mentally ill and or brain dead " but I don't care because I know he was just stunned by his words given.

I hope this system will change soon, all given negative feedback by banned users will automatically get rid of.

TBH, If his ban was for that, as much as my distain for GP, I wouldn't agree with a permaban for that. Definition quoting shouldn't be quoted plagiarism in my eyes, although he should have sourced it for safe measure.

I'm rather certain it was for the spamming.

The community is better off without him. Case closed.

Yea for sure, but it did get ridiculous. At one point I had I think more than 7 (or 9) negative feedbacks from him before he (or mods) deleted some.

Truly... I suggest that we must do that too, but due to some scenario that trust aren't moderated that would also mean that it is quite impossible... Except if theymos really consider it.

just don't bother...
Actually its kinda pain in the eyes. Though I have Other feedbacks on my account that are also nonsense... So I really wished I/we can get rid of it.

Just apply a friendly splash of cognitive dissonance sauce!

    • I have red trust from game-protect
    • I don't like red trust on my page I like having red trust on my page

And join me in the martyr-like nature of collecting negative feedback. Consider it a badge of honor for all the bullshit you deal with (:
I'm going to actually say that game-protect won't make an astounding return. Anything that comes out of them on the forum will be in the form of dribbles - posts that most of us will never see - gp is most likely going to move on to another, more susceptible forum. Sunken cost fallacy subjected them to continue the facade here, but now that the bridge is fully burned... well, there's no reason to continue the illusion of control.

It may happen if there is an unclosed "[ list ]" tag in the post you're quoting.

In this case I think it's actmyname's fault.

Since his main account is banned any alt will "instantly (when a mod read it)" banned too for ban evading.

Sadly;  now all the hidden alts needs to be weeded out (if they haven't been mostly already)

Weird, there's a [list] tag at the very start of my post (even prior to the quotes). Must be some strange bbc interaction while I was previewing the post. Not trolling this time ;)
After he got banned on twoplustwo he made a new account and just went around recommending people check out his site.
Considering the BCT page I think it's fair to say he's burned this bridge. Especially with the harsher entry requirements, I think the two forums are unequal in accessibility.
