I remember Atari since I was a kid and I was playing their video games.

It will be very difficult to build a new crypto at this time if you do not have enough capital and a valid team, because now there are so many scammers who take advantage of the conditions and the current crypto situation.

You're right but Atari is a long-existing game which was said to have been in existence since the year 1972 and they have their stock listed on NYSE so the capital issue shouldn't be much of a problem.
If i could remember correctly they have been on the issue of creating cryptocurrency since about 2years before the whole thing went exile and if the story is wake up now that mean they want to continue with the project.
In addition to, the previous reputation of Atari and the long existence is sufficient enough to make people believe in the genuine level of the project.
Concern their crypto exile two years ago, is because of the market situations(market corrections and blood bath after halving effect) which may make the Atari crypto project lose their reputation, so taking a halt and proceed in the future wont hurt, does it?

Atari making their crypto? no, this won't happen.

We have no news about them indulging to crypto. They are very popular during the early days but we're on the different times but it's not too late for them to retain that popularity that once they have received.

They should focus more with games than crypto.

Good to see that a game maker like Atari also had an interest in crypto space. They are a good company because I have never heard any serious issues towards them. This is a good impact on crypto space especially Bitcoin when they start accepting cryptocurrencies.

Here is the Atari PDF, https://ml-eu.globenewswire.com/Resource/Download/e2f1ff62-257c-49f7-ae84-81709a4d6cd4. They are launching their token 4 days ago. I think that is a good start for them.

I am not familiar with the name so I did a research and found out they are pro crypto.
Here's some fresh news regarding Atari : Atari Partners With Blockchain-Based Game: The Sandbox (https://www.thegamer.com/atari-partners-blockchain-the-sandbox/)

This is great for the crypto space, more adoption are happening and time will come everything will just boom.

If they are that popular I am sure that they can easily launch their tokens/coins but as a little of advise, it will be good if they will also consider the market condition before they will launch their currencies so they will not face difficult problems upon their launch. The market right now is in recovery mode but the recovery is very slow so we can expect that it will take like 3-6 months before the market will be in good condition again if in case the big whales will help to pump the market.

I am not that familiar with Atari but upon searching, it became known as Atari last 2003 as they re-branded it from the old Infogrames, Inc.

That's good to know, another platform will be added in the crypto market, I am hoping for the success of the project though as we only have few projects that had their success in the market, and that limits the adoption rate we are hoping.

let me quote some important information from the article (https://ml-eu.globenewswire.com/Resource/Download/e2f1ff62-257c-49f7-ae84-81709a4d6cd4) you shared.

Quote
Launch of the Atari Token
• Private presale campaigns starting as of March 30th 2020, reserved for qualified
investors
• The public sale of the Atari Token is scheduled for early summer 2020
• The Atari Token will have its first applications in the areas of crypto-casinos and
through a partnership with a subsidiary of Animoca
• Atari aims to progressively develop use cases for the Atari Token in order to
achieve the widest utilization possible of its crypto-currency

When you say Atari, my minds were back when I was a kid. At that time, Atari is one of the popular video games which have so many games that kids can play. I wonder if Atari can come back and compete with the other video games since right now, many good competitors already have big fans. I don't know if they are good enough to compete with the other company so they will get their fans again.

If they build trust already then there will be more investors will surely participate in thier crowdfunding. If many shit project has a supporters what would you expect with a good project.

With established company like them, they can pursue their project even without attaining their financial targets. As the crisis is not yet slowing down, it would be hard to get financial support from small time crypto users. But maybe they can always have private investors as they are already an old company to begin with.

Atari is planning to enter the online crypto casino business so they are planning for two tokens along with an online casino.

Official announcement:

The pre-sale is already live. It's indeed great to see such known brands are showing interest in crypto market. It will certainly increase the credibility of the "somewhat dead" ICO market!

Suggest Cryptocurrency for Casino games

You need to use cryptocurrencies that people have and use. If casino will only use cryptocurrencies that people dont have they will never go gamble in that casino.

https://www.bitdice.me/ casino lets you gamble with Bitcoin, Doge, Litecoin, Ethereum, EOS and CSNO.

Cryptocurrencies are  one of the easiest means to get connected on casinos. But it seems people and especially most developers of online game are not  looking in that direction. Recently, I started playing the game of poker on Acewins platform and it was just fun. That particular project is still under development, I hope more gambling or casinos  platforms pay attention to blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

My bad, I thought that they are not interested of making a venture in cryptocurrencies and should only be focused with games. I'm taking back my words as I've said it won't happen so please spare me with that.

If they'll start to make this venture great.

People who are into games and investments would love to see how they'll make something new out of their brand. As we know, most of the projects lately doesn't really do well.

There was actually some guy who wanted to build a gaming company but he was having hard time actually figuring out a way to get money for the development, it is insanely expensive to build a decent game, if you are a one man developer for the game it will take A LOT of manhours, like unimaginably long, hell 50+ developer teams actually take literally years to build a decent game, think how hard it is to do it all by yourself, only stardew valley comes to mind when talking about one person built games that became successful.

However that dude realized he could issue tokens, and use that funding to actually hire people and build games, then people who have those tokens could just give those tokens back and get the game in return, you can either get the game and sell the game, or you can sell the tokens, what the game is worth in dollars will depend on the price so the market.

Agree, it brings some nostalgic to us, specially from generations who have experienced their game.

So let's see how their token will bring benefits to the crypto gaming. It is interesting though that they have chosen this niche. I can also speculate that they know that crypto gaming or gambling is a billion dollar industry. And with the name "Atari", they can really attract gamblers to used their token.

Have you seen that the video game you are playing is entering the crypto world? of course you know that not all games enter the world of crypto because they know that when they enter the world of crypto that means a lot of money they have to spend to promote video games to be released.

It’s not Atari in the true sense. An investment group bought the name and employed devs to create this piece of crap box. The gameplay looks like PS3 graphics at best. Compared to the latest unreal 5 engine demo it’s a joke. Plus, the price they are selling their token at in pre-sale puts the m/c at $622m. It’ll possibly be over a billion by the time it gets to public sale. Hype may well prop this up a little for a short while but the price will dump from its sale price. The VCS is a bag of shit when compared to other upcoming consoles, which would be more than capable of playing any sub standard ‘retro’ games.

Hype. Nothing else. Buy the token at your peril during ICO or whatever they want to call it.

Millions of people have already converted to #onlinecasinos. The reason behind this popularity is the betting accessibility. Anyone who has a device connected to the Internet can choose to bet. Visit Homeros (https://homerosnet.com/#about) and encounter the greatest #casino experience!
The gaming industry is continuously improving in terms of market growth and features. In fact, it is one of the fastest-growing sectors today. However, old paradigms are still in effect, and the modern gamer struggles with the same problems today. We are here to change that.
Homeros aims to become a blockchain-based gaming ecosystem that brings the experience of tomorrow to our gamers today. We have an interface and solution that are designed to accommodate gaming enthusiasts, developers, and merchants.
Many players have been switching to #Cryptocurrencies for betting. Easy account creation, fast withdrawal, and 100% anonymity make #Crypto the new favorite. #Homeros also places its bets on #BlockchainTechnology through #HMR tokens.

Maybe you are one of the few people who are trying to provide input so that the game is improved and the final decision is with the company. Basically,  company make decision  abaut that if the development is considered to be a great potential is likely to be improved. if not qualified will be many complaints and ends by itself.

If you haven't tried it it definitely tastes different.

Maybe OP wants to remind his past when he plays that game, and he imagines that games will be available on the gambling game, and he can use crypto to gamble. But yes, we already have so many gambling games in the crypto gambling website that we can choose to play. Maybe in the future, we will see that games available on the internet or we can play that game on our computer with an internet connection.

EarnBet is a great casino with its own token and I really like the idea, more you play more you earn because all players are receing tokens for playing and this tokens entitles to passive income that come from company's profit.

Same here. I have very high hope for Atari token after hearing it. They would make a killing if they could produce some sort of arcade machine with their crypto gambling token, similar to arcade slot machines in casinos. Instead of chip drawing on the house, a universal crypto token that can be used to play on arcade machines with gambling elements.

You should realize that ref link isn't allowed here.

Its not sure if atari will really come up against the big gaming companies these days. But they are known worldwide though. The atari tokens will also be used on Games and Casinos which is likely going to be used by a particular community who likes their games. Its not too late to join the race of smartcontract platforms though.

Atari is cool and all but that is only suggesting that we are going to get to see something from a respectable company, which suggests that it may not be a scam, obviously I would like to see an official signed document from Atari itself with the new projects saying they are taking full responsibility and they are actually the ones behind it instead of some third party company using their names with a license to do it so it looks legal but it is still not Atari behind it.

After all of that, it is still dangerous because just because Atari is doing this doesn't mean they will be great at it, they could still suck at it as well, that is why I feel like we should not jump on board right away whenever we hear a respectable company doing something, remember Libra hype?

indeed Atari can be an alternative coin for casinos and games but at least the price must be cheap and the shipping costs must be small because usually at gambling places when they have made a profit they will make a withdrawal from the profits that have been obtained, when the price of Atari is expensive then there will be little use it because surely the shipping costs will be expensive.

The low cost is an attraction for the players in itself, it can be a good option in the future by the teams if they have coins. and it will be successful if it can apply a low cost price

Now the crypto market has rising, there will be many new projects created and maybe there are some projects related with gaming too.
