Binance never compromised with their reputation. This exchange got hacked several times but they protected the users' funds, so, no one left the Binance exchange!
A lot of people stopped looking at Coinmarketcap, as they did nothing against faked volume exchanges/tokens! Rather most of the shit exchanges are available in the top rank!
Even a shit exchange called Tagz climbed up to the first rank, now their volume likely zero! I did not participate in Tagz bounty, because it looked shit at first sight!

So, now, as Binance owns the CMC, so, they will rank up only the real volumed exchanges like Bittrex, Kucoin, Poloniex, Kraken and so on! And exchanges like Hotbit, Coinsbit, Bilaxy will go as low rank as they deserved, all of their fake volumes will be washed out! So, I am very much happy now! I made a couple of threads against these fake exchanges and CMC's silent habit against scam exchange! Now, we are gonna see what we asked for!

I believe from now the crypto market will have less negativity, less scam exchange and tokens. What do you think guys about it? Am I expecting too much or its okay?

Has the transaction already done? I have seen some news about that but it's speculation only from someone. It's very interesting to know more about how the result of this news.

I agree with all your point, binance did set a standard in the cryptocurrency market and I'm sure that acquiring of coinmarketcap by binance will help fight fake volumes of both exchanges and tokens. We need to see more guenuity in this space

I would say that Binance and CZ are really the game changer when it comes to cryptospace, they are innovating and developing every now and then. Surely, CMC will be improved when they are going to manage it and when they do that, yes, first things first, get rid of those shit exchanges and coins on the market cap

I read about this yesterday at https://www.theblockcrypto.com/post/60371/binance-is-set-to-acquire-coinmarketcap-the-deal-could-be-worth-as-much-as-400-million but it seems that the deal is not done yet. I think it takes weeks for Binance to complete this action. I hope after this Binance will make CoinMarketCap fresh and nuke scam and fake volume exchanges.

That comes from the blockcrypto and i doubt about the credibility of the news that has already published by this crypto news site. I remember when this site was an opposition to the binance exchange site.

That's a good news mate but we can not say now that what cmc will show would be fair. Since they now own it as you said in which I can't prove as you don't referrenced it can certainly result pros and cons to the cryptocurrency traders/investors. The positive is that since they are trusted, we can say that what cmc will show on its data is true as what it supposed to be. On the other side the negativity is that Binance's dominance will increase repidly thus some exchanges would be left behind.

The acquisition doesn't make sense a lot of people for obvious reasons. Some are thinking that crypto market would enter into monopoly through acquisition. However, it will make sense if you know that CMC had enjoyed 207 million web traffic in last 6 months. Can you think the amount Binance would make if they can properly monetize this huge amount of traffic?

It's not about monetization. It's all about domination/monopoly you are talking about. CZ is trying to have influence as much as possible over the crypto market and it's more clearer now. They can/can't make the amount they spend but it has certainly taken Binance to another level of power they have in the crypto market. However, I'm expecting a change in the CMC, more effective site.

I thought everyone here wanted coinmarketcap with the real trade volume and not ranking up those fake and shitty exchanges? I think this will bring more good in cryptosphere when Binance takes over. Coinmarketcap has the reputation to advertisement scam projects as well, I do hope that with Binance at the helm, we won't see banners of some projects that are just as shit and scammy as every other projects in the wild. So let's see how Binance will improved coinmarketcap, it people don't see any, I'm sure they will move to other options as there are a lot of coinmarketcap competitors out there.

There might be changes when Binance has a coinmarketcap website. We know that all this time, coinmarketcap data has always been one of the references when deciding on good coins for short and long-term investments and with the inclusion of Binance, it may change the rating and tokens listed on coinmarketcap because many currently do not have volume but keep listing on the website

Its going to that direction already. Though its yet not confirm whether CZ had really acquired CMC, money wouldn't be the problem for the transaction to push. The Chinese are up to make themselves on top of crypto community whether we like it or not. They are know to have good reputation to building good products but it may also mean centralization at best.

Coinmarketcap will now lie in good hands and we might be able to see accurate data from now on. While this sort of a good news there are other things to worry about as well. Binance has been acquiring almost every good player in every field. It acquired good peer to peer exchanges in many countries including WazirX from India and not it's acquiring Coinmarketcap which is a top ranker itself in it's field. So Binance is acquiring the top players in every field and is setting a monopoly in the crypto market. God knows how will Binance use this monopoly. They might use it in a good or may be in a bad way too.
We have to be careful and be aware of the situation and keep our bitcoins safe. I will still suggest not to keep the cryptocurrencies on exchanges and own our private keys!

Binance seems to be turning into Tron, trying to get into everything they can and as much as possible to spread their influence. CZ probably has better advisors though, as he's going for CMC and Justin Sun goes for Warren Buffett and Pornhub.

Could you please share the source of buying WazirX, Poloniex and Steemit? I thought Steemit finally did not sell them rather Binance helped them to recover and Hive was a fork of Steemit! If it's true then they will surely dominate the crypto market but that doesn't matter if they do it honestly.

I am still in doubt if CMC will truly be willing to sell that great asset. That is their source of income and the number one cryptocurrency watch site. I still find it hard to believe, until it is finally acquired by CZ.

I know that the purchase has not been fully realized yet. If this happens, I expect the markets to be more mobile because Binance will use this service to achieve a very powerful manipulator position. It will both have about delisting its competitors from the list of this service and will force users to mislead by making changes with many data. At the beginning of this month, I thought Binance is losing its popularity, most of the Binance chained coins was migrating into other chains, Binance DEX had shitty low volume! Agree with you, coinmarketcap is the next lucky one in this market. Take a look at other projects, like the Trust wallet ... Yup, completion of this move by Binance will sure clear up a lot of crappy exchanges that exist only to rip people off. The success Binance has developed over the years with its strategic plans may well be implemented across this new big addition and if that's the case then we shall all expect higher and better quality exchanges  :D

I am glad to hear that Binance has acquired CMC to eradicate fake exchanges which are still at the top with this news. This is great news. Whenever the acquisition will be done 100%, I think Binance will start validating the coins listed on coinmarketcap. Binance has already shown its work delisting many coins due to not fulfilling conditions or violating its regulations and gained the trust of its users. It is very important now for Binance to keep coinmarketcap at the same level.
Users and the entire crypto market will surely get benefited from this.

Binance is really a good exchange and there is no doubt with that but we can't say that they will follow the same things with coinmarketcap as well because its just a coin tracker as of now.But they might have some plans to make more money from CMC so they will ask high fees for a project to get listed.

Binance will never try to follow what already did by CMC in the past. The old CMC owner has been getting a big money to keep his live as the new millionaires. As far as i know if he was getting hundreds million dollars. That's a crazy amount for just only a single site that shows the regular marketcap of crypto.

as far as I know, the binance team is very professional. if they really are going to take care of CMC, I think CMC will be a very trusted place. however, so many problems are accepted by binance, but they are solved professionally. if CMC has the same management, I think I will only see CMC as a reference for choosing a place of exchange or coins.

The fake volume was the main reason why I stopped using coinmarketcap, they did nothing to combat that issue and exchanges that I have never heard about were at the top of the list when it came to volume and anyone that knew a thing or two about the leading exchanges in this market knew the list was fake, and while there is no guarantee they will take actions to filter the results now that binance owns coinmarketcap at the same time I cannot imagine why they should not do it since it will be advantageous for them and the community.

Yes.. the deal was worth $400 million. And that means that the original owner of coinmarketcap is getting filthy rich. But I smell something fishy here. Why would Binance pay such a huge amount, for this website? I heard that it is a combined cash+stock deal, but even then such a huge amount sounds excessive to me. That is unless Binance has some shady intentions on what they are going to do with CMC.

With Binance owning Coinmarketcap, we will only see coins with good volume in their listing and we will see the real volume and of course expect to see Binance to always on top of the list since they own Coinmarketcap now, I prefer Coingecko because they include even new coins as long as there is at least one exchange that lists the token even if there is no volume.

If CMC is worth this much now, why will the owners want to sell it? Won't it be worth more when cryptocurrency adoption gains more grounds? Let's see if this was an April fools prank or its a real deal.

Well finally. It gets there. CMC is offered that much. Whoever owns its has gotta be richer by doing a crappy ranking site but when binance will take over it, its going to get better. Probably delisting all those exchanges that doesn't deserved to be there. At least we can now assume there is a light.

When CZ thought about a roll back for the BTCitcoin network when there is hack because of their incapability, how on earth would you trust them, if there is an exchange which got hacked several times then it is time to avoid them because there is no guarantee that they will shut down eventually :P.

Why is it so sure that they will clean up everything, the fake volumes are not created by CMC itself, they are just showing the volume provided by the exchange

But what I love to see, is the payment or any documents that are telling that the Binance already owns the CMC so we can also adjust and check whether they are already creating an adjustment to site or not. They already bought it. Deal closed last March 31 based on this article. We will know in the coming months what improvement are they going to implement in CMC.

Binance team is one of the most professional in crypto community i think. I am using Binance since 2018, and have no questions to this exchange and to it's services. So i think that deal will benefit all community.

I have been seen a several news sources so that i think it’s correct but i did not see these from Binance official announcement. It's seems big news although i think it’s still going process of negotiation both of cmc and cz. If Binance will control it than i believe they will make a lot modified. I was never in full support of the team of Coinmarket cap handing over their platform into the hands of Binance but with what OP is saying then it would be a great idea if they can clean up all the scam tokens as well as fake exchange volume. I believe every investor would be in favour of this.

LOL.. It's not a prank. And that is how the acquisitions work. Remember the acquisition of Whatsapp by Facebook? Facebook paid a total of $21.8 billion for acquiring Whatsapp, which a lot of experts thought was excessive. That was in 2014. But six years later, these same experts are of the opinion that the Whatsapp deal was a very profitable one for Facebook. The same may be the case with CMC.

I have not used coinmarketcap in years so if you do not like what it is happening you can use one of the many websites that are their competitors to get your information about the market of cryptocurrencies, most likely the previous owners of coinmarketcap thought they were losing ground against those websites and decided this was the best moment to get out of it and let someone else take charge of their website, and according to the reports the offer was quite generous so it makes sense they sold their website to binance.

That is what I am thinking too, Binance will clean coinmarketcap and remove sh*tcoin exchanges even coins and tokens. Most of the exchanges that is listed on coinmarketcap have fake volume generated by bots and no real trading volume at all. At first, I thought it was a mistake on binance acquiring CMC but now I think it was really a good move by Binance. we know that some important points that will be the target of further development, one of the most expected crypto enthusiasts is a problem related to fake volume. I believe one tough task for them is addressing the fake volume. The investigation will take time for this kind of issue in almost all exchanges. They need to carefully look each and every coin for that matter. Sometimes it is not the exchange doing the wash trading, but the owners of the coin themselves to increase their volume in the market and be noticed by the traders. If you are an experienced trader, you will know some trends when a coin is being pump and dump or wash trading is going on.
But with BNB on the side, I think there will be good improvements that will happen to CMC.

I welcome Binance for trying to restructure Coinmarketcap. All these shit exchange Hotbit, Coinsbit,... need to put to death with the horrible practice of fake trading's volume. Though Coinmarketcap has to play with  Binance's rule and this could hurt some exchange but just a small price to pay.

Speaking of binance doing sone house cleaning on Capital market then why exchange like BKEX rated as number one despite that it was ranked 23,254 on alexa while exchange holding the highest rank than the exchange on the 10th to 25th spot? So they are gonna kind of rule the crypto space. Plus recently there are lots of scam exchanges and some scam coins use cmc loophole and add their token to cmc. But I think after worked under binance they will take care of this mistakes. Atleast hope for clean the whole crypto space.

Yes you are right, this is a red flag for all exchanges that has fake volume and and lists fake projects.
Now everyone will sit tight and do what is right.

With binance checkmating with coinmarketcap, we can expect improved information on the coinmarketcap, as well as up to date volumes and price of tokens.

Maybe only few who would agree that this is a bad move right? Of course it is not. Binance is a top most exchange and we see how capable and responsible their team regarding improvement and development. I only wanted to say that if ever Binance would implement something on CMC as new feature is that add some more function on their current app that works the same on the browser. Like for example, add some tokens on their tracker even though not yet listed on them.

This is possible I guess, like ehat on other tracker. Why is this important? They can expand their system, sometime these new tokens or not yet famous coins are not added here its because they need to apply on them but what if they can list it without any application? As far as I know there is no payment on CMC listing right? I just hope this is possible.

Your ideas will often work correctly.But I think the exchanges should have a rule.Recently, an exchange closed withdraw. This is a sad thing for ordinary investors.Although not a good quality exchange, it still has a very negative impact.

I am sure that the Binance will do whatever they want at the coinmarketcap. all that they do they do only for their personal benefit. we all need to understand that this is a business and do not need to hope that they bought a coinmarketcap for 400 million in order to make it better for users

They will do the best for them, but in addition they will do good things for the entire community and the entire market. I absolutely believe Binance and what they are doing, they will purify this market and help it grow in the future.

The joint ownership with Coinmarketcap will lead to more transparency in the crypto front, and i can believe that fake pumps, volumes and non existent tokens should begin to get de listed on cmc soon

The time is finally here for some strict transparency in crypto space, maybe CZ noticed that lack of transparency is what's holding crypto back, the man is smart, with CMC it will be easy to get rid of many bad projects

Those who left coinmarketcap for coingecko might just have to return once CZ start making his moves on fake volume exchanges and watch trades, I believe this will make crypto space a fair space
