Title: BALLET Physical Cryptocurrency Wallets
Post by: BalletCrypto on March 31, 2020, 10:40:06 PM
Greetings, friends and fellow physical bitcoin enthusiasts. This is the official account of Ballet (https://www.balletcrypto.com). We make physical, non-electronic cryptocurrency wallets. Ballet wallets take inspiration from the physical bitcoins pioneered by Casascius, Denarium, and BTCC Mint. Until now, products in this category have been primarily thought of as elegant collectibles. Ballet physical wallets maintain that tradition, but they have also been designed with a focus on providing the most simple and secure private key storage solution for non-technical users. By lowering the technical barrier to entry, we believe that Ballet wallets will contribute greatly to global mainstream adoption of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

This thread is for announcements, discussion, and feedback about Ballet products. You can reach us on Twitter @BalletCrypto.

Ballet Bitcoin Block

Our newest product is the Ballet Bitcoin Block, which we are introducing to the public for the first time here on BitcoinTalk. Building on the legacy of the incredibly popular BTCC Mint Bitcoin Block, Ballet Bitcoin Blocks contain the entire coinbase reward of a newly-mined Bitcoin block. This is done in collaboration with a major mining pool. There’s only a short time until the block reward halving, so act quickly if you want to own one of the few remaining 12.5 BTC coinbase rewards.

The physical blocks are constructed of pure titanium. The dimensions are 8cm X 8cm x 1cm thick.

Ballet REAL Series

The Ballet REAL Series is a physical, non-electronic, multicurrency wallet. It’s a bearer asset - whoever has physical possession of the wallet has full control of all funds contained on it. This enables off-chain transactions below the base layer, which saves on fees and protects your privacy. For example, you could physically exchange a funded REAL Series wallet for a luxury watch, rather than broadcast a transaction to the blockchain. The tamper-evident sticker and scratch-off strip would give the merchant in this example confidence that the customer has never accessed the encrypted private key or the passphrase required to decrypt it.

The REAL Series is ideal for gifting cryptocurrency to first-time users. It is simple to understand, no setup is required, and there is very little opportunity for user error to cause a loss of funds. The standard version is constructed of stainless steel for exceptional durability; as long as you remember the physical location where it is stored and protect it from theft, fire, and corrosive chemicals, your funds will be safe. We also offer a 24k gold-plated version, and Litecoin and Ethereum versions too.

Ballet PRO Series

The Ballet PRO Series is designed to meet the requirements of security experts and high-value investors, but it’s also simple enough for anyone who has experience using a cryptocurrency software or hardware wallet. Users jointly participate with Ballet in the two-factor private key generation process through the open-source BIP38 standard. This method enables us to produce a customized wallet that can only be decrypted by a passphrase that you create, without your passphrase ever leaving the computer you used to generate the BIP38 intermediate code.

Each PRO Series package contains three identical wallets, so you can store physical backups in multiple locations. It’s not a bearer asset, so it’s not suitable for off-chain transactions or gifting like the REAL Series. However, it’s ideal for storing larger amounts of value and inheritance planning.

Customized Wallets

We manufacture customized wallets with the logo of any coin, token, or company for which there is sufficient demand. The minimum order quantity is 500 units for 15,000 USD. If one backer pledges at least 20% of the total cost, we will start a public Kickstarter campaign to fund the remaining amount.

For example, we recently completed a successful Kickstarter campaign for Ravencoin: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/balletcrypto/real-ravencoin-physical-cryptocurrency-wallet-from-ballet/

Reseller Program

We have a growing network of Ballet resellers around the world. If you’re interested in becoming a Ballet reseller, please see more information here: https://www.balletcrypto.com/en/reseller/

The Bitcoin Block product is about to launch soon, and we will release the official details here (price, ordering process, etc).

We are working our hardest to get this out ASAP, so that we can mine some blocks before the block halving...
(the post-halving Bitcoin Block, if there's demand for that, will be released in June timeframe.)

Thank you for your patience!

thanks,
Bobby

Just wanted to share my experience with ballet wallets.  A buddy and I had both never redeemed a physical bitcoin before and wanted to make sure we knew how in case that need ever arises ( hope not ).  Coinomi is one solution but neither of us had access to it at the time due to it not being available for iPhones.  We decided to peel and redeem a pre-fork Satori as our test subject.  Ballet made it absolutely simple.  We were able to easily redeem the bitcoin and it split off the available forks with ease as well.  Definitely recommended for redeeming physicals.

Hi ChiBitCTy,

I'm so glad to hear about your positive feedback!

This is something we spent extra time and resource, to try and make the industry's best software tool, for paper wallets and physical bitcoins. I instructed my team that in order for us to have a successful wallet product, we need a GREAT mobile app, that's easy and safe to use. And then for a great mobile app, we need to cater to our core audience, which are the Bitcoin old-timers who use paper wallets and physical bitcoins.

I dare say we have the best support for physical bitcoins, everything from Casascius, to Denarium, to Satori, and of course, BTCC Mint. And we support everything in between! We even support the alt-coin paper wallets and physical coins, just as long as it's in our supported list:
https://www.balletcrypto.com/en/coins/

When the day comes where you need to sweep & redeem your paper wallet or physical bitcoin / altcoins, I hope you all give Ballet a try. It's a breeze, as it allows you to easily import the private keys, either in text or QR code format, and we also support BIP38 passphrase protected private keys. (and yes, pre-fork Bitcoins is very well supported.)

Give it a try and let us know if you have any feedback!

thanks,
Bobby

They were attempting a "marketing blitz" that used the "balletmoney.com" website that was made for the event
If you enter that into a browser, it now redirects to the company/site they used for this: https://www.clickfunnels.com/
Granted, this was not executed in the best fashion, as I know many people thought the site fake/scam promotion due to the difference in pricing/shipping

ahh ok - so legit just with a higher price? well glad I went thru the other site and used your discount code :)

Thanks, sadly they are not all mine. Some are for a couple of newcomers who were interested in onboarding into crypto and wanted something new and cool.   Only a few of mine are signed - they will match well with other nice BTCC/Ballet items from over the years. 8) - not sure about anyone else.

Thanks!

The one you seek was special for the halving and no longer available.  You will have to find one on the secondary market.  Good luck.

at least you were nice about it - I pointed out the gold ones on another thread and I was called a shilling deceptive piece of shit and threatened with negative trust. nowhere did I even say it was the halving one - simply that there are gold wallets for sale and even provided a coupon code that would save the guy 5% off if he wanted to get one of those. when the other dude went off on me - I did edit my post to specify that they are simply gold ones and not the halving edition (though I never said it was)

my point is there is a proper way to let me know they missed some details or in clarifying a post. I thank you for being one of those types vs the other.

You forget to add that you were directly posting a reply to a Newbie in a thread titled "Bitcoin Halving Special Edition Wallet". What item did you think he was asking about? We take care of our Newbies around here. You're walking on thin ice. Let's see if you can get up to edit 4, 5, or 6 in the other thread trying to save face.
If you don't know something for sure.. save your +1 post count and let someone who does know what they're talking about answer. I know with affiliate codes in play the early bird gets the worm though right so that'll never happen with you.

you forget to add that the thread had an invalid link in the op - in fact that the thread in question was a complete mess up as they created a whole second site on a second domain with a different price to boot - i simply pointed to the actual site - and i was pointing out that simply there are still gold ones left - anyone reading the details on the site would see that they are not the same. you were taking care of no one - you were being a douche bag.

the edits were simply to avoid adding other posts - I am not saving face. I posted about gold cards still available - never claimed they were the halving versions, yes, I offered the link in my signature (because the one in the OP was INVALID and did not point to their official site in any way!) and yes I offered a discount code - I was not bending his arm to use either. Relax. I also edited the post to clarify that.

My point is you could have simply pointed out that I was missing the fact that they were not halving editions - you did not need to start name calling and threatening.

the only thing I did not do was specify that it was not the halving one - but I also did not claim it was. I did edit the post to say that.

if you want to take care of people - there is a right way and a wrong way and your way is wrong. I am not worried about my post count sheesh. People like you do not belong in society - you are a bully.

edit: see below for someone truly just going for the +1 to post count...

It looks like from buckroger's pictures that only some of them are signed by Bobby Lee?

Is it just luck of the draw?

Thanks!

mine arrived today - looks great and came pre-loaded with .01 btc as they claimed. (no signature on mine) There is only one flaw, it has a scratch on the back side - not very large but very visible, there are other lighter ones but they are not as visible - you cannot see them in the pictures either - I would probably have to open it and remove it to take a picture where you could see the other ones, that is how light they are.

Title: Re: BALLET Physical Cryptocurrency Wallets (New: REAL Pizza!)
Post by: bobbyclee on May 15, 2020, 07:11:12 AM
Hi all,

I'm excited to use this forum to pre-announce our newest product: The REAL Pizza wallet.

This wallet serves both to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Bitcoin Pizza Day, and also to function as the much-anticipated "Stealth wallet" to allow people to discreetly carry a physical cryptocurrency wallet, without drawing any unnecessary attention.

https://i.imgur.com/N1AJtAc.jpg

On May 22, 2010, an early Bitcoin user from Florida named Laszlo Hanyecz agreed to pay a fellow BitcoinTalk forum member 10,000 BTC in exchange for two Papa John’s pizzas. Bitcoin historians have identified this as the first real-world economic transaction using Bitcoin. At the time, 10,000 BTC was only worth approximately $25, but today it would be worth tens of millions of dollars. It was definitely the most expensive pizza, perhaps the most expensive meal, in history.

Here is the original link to the thread here on BitconTalk:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137.0)

https://i.imgur.com/nU5fwjC.jpg

May 22 has come to be celebrated in the cryptocurrency community as “Bitcoin Pizza Day.” To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Laszlo’s 10,000 BTC pizza purchase, we have created a special edition of our popular REAL Series wallet, called REAL Pizza. The inspiration for this special edition comes from our desire to live in a world where enjoying Bitcoin is as common as eating pizza, and all Ballet wallets are designed to help make that world a reality.

https://i.imgur.com/9zB7YSJ.jpg

The REAL Pizza wallet has a pizza logo and a native Segwit bech32 address, but is otherwise functionally the same as the standard REAL Series wallets. Please note that we have purposely removed all references to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency from this physical wallet, so that it cannot be identified as a cold storage device or related to cryptocurrency in any way. In essence, the REAL Pizza serves as a “stealth” wallet, where casual observers will not be able to easily recognize it as related to Bitcoin or cryptocurrency. It will not draw unwanted attention from curious eyes. Just like Laszlo’s original purchase of two pizzas, the REAL Pizza is always sold in sets of two wallets.

https://i.imgur.com/PqgE1Sv.jpg

Features
  • Non-proprietary, Two-factor private keys (BIP38)
  • Open-source, two-factor key generation (2FKG) process
  • Tamper-evident holographic sticker and scratch-off strip
  • Bearer asset, suitable for gifting and private, off-chain transactions
  • Non-electronic, no risk of electronic hacking and hardware failure
  • Bitcoin primary account, native Segwit bech32 address (“bc1” prefix)
  • Multicurrency support, over 50 top coins and all ERC20 tokens
  • Stealth function: physical wallet has no references to Bitcoin or cryptocurrency

As we have received good constructive feedback from all of you for our past product introductions, here is how we plan to launch the REAL Pizza wallets, and the sequence of events:

1) Pre-announce the product here on BitcoinTalk forum, and show you all what the REAL Pizza is all about. (This post here is the pre-announcement.)

2) We plan to auction off the first 21 sets of lowest serial numbers (AA030xxx) on this Collectibles forum. Each auction lot will be for a set of 2 wallets. We have asked minerjones to help run the auction, so please stay tuned for his auction post. All auction details will be there.

3) Public pre-sales will be done via a short KickStarter campaign, which we hope to launch very soon. This KickStarter campaign will allow the general public to place pre-orders, and then we will ship out these orders on Bitcoin Pizza Day, May 22. I'll post the KickStarter campaign link here in this thread as soon as that's up.

4) Full product introduction and announcement by Ballet on Bitcoin Pizza Day, May 22. That's when the product will get listed on our company web store, with shipping to follow. Please note: due to very limited quantity in the initial batch, there's a chance that orders placed after May 22 could be back-ordered, with delayed shipment.

Now tell us how you like the REAL Pizza!  :)

thanks,
Bobby

Thanks for sharing this release with us ahead of time along with every possible launch idea, very cool for this community! You all have covered every aspect of this wallet as it relates to Pizza Day so bravo!

Also, really awesome to see Ballet releasing special edition wallets for both major events this month. It’s always cool to have items to commemorate these events rather than just being giving promo codes to “celebrate” the event *cough* Ledger/Trezor *cough*

Keep up the great work Bobby and Ballet!

cant wait to see these online! will be getting one either via auction or direct - have to add it to my collection!  one question - I read thru some of the pizza thread and I never saw the actual wallet or transaction he made the deal with.

So, I first tried the btc address on his profile. Nope, its only ever had 1000 btc run thru it. Then I found a btc address in one of his early posts - scrolled down to May 22nd and found it!

Great release Bobby, can’t wait to buy some of these and thank you for disclosing the serial numbers coming for auction on forum vs. being sold at other avenues.

Btw - you mentioned if ordered after 21st they will be mostly prob be on back order and will have delayed shipment. On that note I wanted to ask if this will be a limited release by the number of wallets sold or will there be specific date after which none will be sold(just like halving wallet)?

Now these I like. Bobby would it be possible to have a short explanation lasered into the Memo section on the back? About why there is bitcoin pizza day and whatnot.

Hi Agrawas,

These will NOT be limited release.  Our plan is to continue to sell these throughout the year, and so on, as this model serves as a stealth wallet.

These wallets will all be Segwit native "bech32" style addresses, so these auction lots will be the absolute lowest serial numbers for this type.

thanks,
Bobby

Hi teeGUMES,

Unfortunately, this won't be possible, because we intentionally made the physical wallet to be "stealth" and not reference anything to do with Bitcoin or cryptocurrency.

For that reason, we cannot talk about Bitcoin Pizza Day on the back side memo field.

As for the slip case packaging, it does indeed reference Bitcoin Pizza Day, and this year is the special 10th anniversary of that event.

thanks,
Bobby

Hi all,

Here's an update on timing of everything:

We're finishing up the manufacturing and packaging of the first 21 sets, and then once confirmed, minerjones will post and announce the auction on this forum. We are aiming to do that tomorrow (Tuesday, May 19) afternoon, USA Pacific Time.

In the mean time, I will announce this new product on my Twitter feed tonight, and simultaneously launch our Kickstarter campaign, to allow the public to start placing pre-orders on Kickstarter. That campaign will close on Thursday night, May 21, and then we will start shipping Kickstarter orders on coming Monday.

And on Friday May 22, the Bitcoin Pizza Day, we will officially launch the product and list it on our company web store, and those orders will be fulfilled after the Kickstarter orders ship out.

thanks,
Bobby

maybe @balletcrypto or @bobbyclee can answer? I cannot find on the website where to ask.

I ordered the red envelope gifting set - these come as a set of 2 and on the site it shows them with two different packages - the set I received both are packaged the same. Are they supposed to come as one of each? or is it random?

the ones on the right are what I received, the left is what the website shows.

Hi Stryfe,

Very sorry about that. It was a mistake on our logistics end, where we didn't correctly ship you the 2 different styles.

Since you've already backed our Kickstarter campaign, we will send you a replacement slipcase cover along with your kickstarter shipment early next week. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and congratulations (and thank you!) for being the first to back our Kickstarter campaign.

Cheers,
Bobby

For the auction, the lots will each be a set of 2 wallets, with the following serial number configuration:
SET 1 = AA030001 + AA030101
SET 2 = AA030002 + AA030102
 ......
SET 21 = AA030021 + AA030121

Each lot will have a starting bid of 0.01 BTC

Minerjones will launch the auction for us on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 19 (USA Pacific Time).

The Kickstarter campaign has just gone live a few hours ago. Here's the link again:

Bobby - for the ones on kickstarter - are able to request a specific serial number? ie - I would like AA030276 - not sure how that would affect the numbering of the second one. and are the kickstarter ones also funded?

In your packages, I've included an extra red envelope packaging, for the one you're missing.
This allows you to complete your set of two: 1 fish + 1 rodent.

2 ballet wallets fell on the floor together with the plastic case. the two cases broke and are no longer usable. :-\
unfortunately on the official ballet homepage there is no possibility to get only the plastic cases without ordering the related wallets...
now my question to the big community here
does anyone here have 2 plastic cases and would sell them to me? :)

Yeah, I agree that pre-generated private keys is crazy...
I can see scammers using this in their advantage.
I do agree that we need some easy wallet for masses, but not like this.

Also, whats up with this beta testing?
I tried to apply few times and It is simply NOT working.

They use a 2 step process done in 2 separate locations — still possible for them to steal funds? Yes, but so far they have not. If that worried about the security but still want to use one, get the pro series. Even if you lose the wallet whoever finds it still needs the passphrase that only you know.

And beta testing for what?

The collectible is sold as an empty container that users can load with bitcoin through the Ballet Crypto app or by simply transferring BTC to the address shown on the collectible or the app.

They also describe it as a physical bearer asset, which implies the keys would have to be on it somewhere.

My assumption there is that they mean no online account or password is needed, which is true, as you don't need to setup an account or set a password to use the Ballet app. Further evidence of this is that they also describe their Bitcoin Block product the same way, which clearly has keys on that:

Bitcoin BLOCKs are physical bearer assets, with no external dependencies such as passwords or third-party accounts. Whoever has physical possession of the Bitcoin BLOCK controls the funds.

I agree, they should have posted more images, and I suspect they will eventually. Their current real series wallets have a bunch of wasted space on the back, so I'm assuming they made this design to make more use of both sides.

I would have liked to see the backside, but my assumption after reading this is that all of the key information will be on the back.

The collectible is sold as an empty container that users can load with bitcoin through the Ballet Crypto app or by simply transferring BTC to the address shown on the collectible or the app.

They also describe it as a physical bearer asset, which implies the keys would have to be on it somewhere.

they also state it needs no account or password. so how is the private key encrypted? is there one? or?

My assumption there is that they mean no online account or password is needed, which is true, as you don't need to setup an account or set a password to use the Ballet app. Further evidence of this is that they also describe their Bitcoin Block product the same way, which clearly has keys on that:

Bitcoin BLOCKs are physical bearer assets, with no external dependencies such as passwords or third-party accounts. Whoever has physical possession of the Bitcoin BLOCK controls the funds.

I agree, they should have posted more images, and I suspect they will eventually. Their current real series wallets have a bunch of wasted space on the back, so I'm assuming they made this design to make more use of both sides.

very true - just leaves much to the imagination when they dont show the full card. It could be like the block products like you said. I await to see what further info they release.

Strange. They took down the link and deleted the Facebook post. I wonder if it wasn’t supposed to be released yet. I managed to place an order this morning. We’ll see if it fills.

my current ballet collection -

https://streamable.com/9ymgz0

There are a handful that I am still missing.

1. 24k gold plated First Day of Issue REAL Bitcoin
2. 24k gold plated REAL XRP
3. 24k gold plated REAL Ethereum
4. Bitcoin Block 12.5 BTC
5. Bitcoin Block 6.25 BTC
6. Litcoin Block 12.5 LTC
7. FirstBI Exchange
8. REAL Digibyte
9. REAL ZG

That last 6 will be harder to get, partially as some of them are quite expensive due to the load value and no longer being made. Would settle for peeled BTC blocks even. And the last 3 were not publicly released.

If anyone knows of any others that are out there and not in my collection or in the list above, please let me know!

I just want to give a nod to the tem at Ballet Crypto wallets (and, by extension MoparMiningLLC) for having created what I consider an essential product to securely cold-store crypto in an offline environment.  I've discovered I can also add many crypto (coins and tokens) via their app and even imported forked variants of bitcoin via privkeys.

My only concern (and it's more a thought bubble) is wondering how durable the scratch off component of the metal cards are given I've heard stories of people having found old (unscratched) scratch lottery tickets in books or birthday/Christmas cards, scratching them off as best they can only to have the prize denied due to the scratch film having hardened against the playing coupon and being un-scratchable.

BTCC chips are one of my all time favorite collectibles ( way better than Satori chips ) and I know the community would love seeing them as well.  I know your BTCC chips normally sold out right away and I would imagine these would as well.  Either way, look forward to seeing what Ballet continues making :)

cant wait to see what they do with the state-backed cards though.

They need to focus and work on shipping and quality check though - items be going out damaged or wrong.

Completely agree. I ordered 12 wallets during the BOGO and most of the cardboard was damaged. Luckily these will just be gifts so it's not a huge deal.

Edit: Adding to this after looking to load these for gifts, I realized I ordered a Doge coin wallet from Amazon and this is the one I got (about 2 or 3 weeks ago) - dog is located on the wallet.

https://i.imgur.com/jtxizfo.png

I ordered 3 Doge coin wallets with the BOGO and so I received 6 of these total and they were this one (displays a D instead of the dog) - their website advertises the one that includes the dog and not just a "D".
Very disappointed about this, as these will be going to 8-10 year olds who will be a lot more excited to see the dog instead of the D.

i wonder how many of those doge ones (with the dog) were made? I bought the Doge in the kickstarter (the first time they ever sold doge wallets) and mine has the D emblem no dog. I have actually never seen one with a dog.

Just wanted to give an update to my recent frustrations. After working with Ballet support they said the website displayed the "D" wallet when I originally purchased the product (September 11th) and that their SKU data on Shopify was updated on September 14th to the new Shiba Inu wallet design. I ordered a Doge wallet on Amazon about 2 weeks earlier and received a wallet with the Shiba Inu. So maybe I was thinking the wallet's on their site would be the same kind when I was ordering and didn't notice they were the "D" version and was confused after I received my order (September 18th) and it was the "D" wallet and their website displayed the Shiba Inu wallet. They did offer me compensation of 1 free Shiba Inu wallet free of charge and I countered that with a $87 credit towards a future purchase (my order total), offering to mail back the 6 "D" wallets at my expense in exchange for the Shiba Inu wallets, or an RMA for all 6 wallets with a complete refund but they didn't go for any of that and offered 2 free Shiba Inu wallets instead, which I felt obligated to accept.

So while it may have been my fault not noticing the "D" wallet design when ordering my wallet (my defense is that I just ordered one from Amazon 2 weeks prior that contained the Shiba Inu), Ballet should not have updated their SKU data (which means all the images changed over to the new design, even on order confirmation pages) while existing orders were still being filled and/or shipped. Or better yet, offer the Shiba Inu wallet as a completely new SKU. Either way, I think they did their best to make the situation right and hopefully learned that changing SKU data instead of creating a new SKU is a bad idea.

6 "D" wallets

There are people here who are collecting just about anything materialy related to bitcoin and by extension any other crypto coin or token.  If I can make a suggestion, you would be better off holding onto the "D" wallets and then putting them up for auction in a few months time.  I bought one of the "D" wallets not realising the Bitcoin version can also store DOGE (and a whole lot more crypto).

I'm the other way around - I prefer the "D" wallet, perhaps there are others who feel the same way?

yes with the exception of the PURE series - which is only BTC - the REAL series can hold any currency supported by Balletcrypto app - the version of wallet only determines the primary currency.

The REAL Pre-production wallets are limited to which coins they can hold.
As an example, the one I use, I cannot enable Ravencoin....  not sure which coins are limited ???

While we're talking about the various versions of the cards, does anyone know if the new cards that have various denominations printed on them ( 1.0 / 0.1 etc etc ) are capable of having multi crypto currencies?  Or, are they just limited to just Bitcoin?  I'm thinking of getting a small spread of denominations and loading them with the values stamped on the cards.

@MoparMiningLLC its time for a new group buy again 8)
this BitcoinDay edition is the first one in 2023

already in the works - there was an issue with packaging and they have to completely remake the packaging - still hoping to get them done and assembled and shipped by the conference.

We shall see. I might have to hold off on posting until they can confirm they have the conference ones done first.

according to this tweet from Ballet there will be a big announcement in 4 days.
as i interpret it Ballet will introduce a new kind of wallet - it will definitely be something that hasn't been released under the name Ballet yet
in any case it is/remains exciting

correct the 2021, 2022 and 2023 are all the same - if you get lucky you might get one where the box has a copywrite for the correct year. but my 2021 said 2021,  the 2022 I got said 2021 and my 2023 says 2022 go figure.

If I had the scratch to build my collection of Ballet wallets, I'd go crazy and buy them all (even though I think they're overpriced in general).  My last purchase was a 5-pack of the 2022 Lunar New Year wallets, which are pretty neat looking.

Is it just me being stupid, or is it hard to find wallet variations like the pizza one on the Ballet website?  That link worked just dandy, but I tried to find it from the homepage and didn't see any links to special edition wallets.  It was listed under the "Real" category, but I don't think I would have stumbled across it had I just been browsing the site.

What was the announcement about?  On principle I refuse to click on any Twitter links even if Elon Musk owns the loathsome company.

i can understand you and i feel the same way. you can see a large selection of different ballet wallet editions in my ccc thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5275792.0).
and as for the pizza edition, i think it's a shame that they don't release a new design every year (like the miami edition).

as a note - for the pizza one, you have to go into the regular wallet and it will then be listed in there. I personally cannot stand their new design concept for the site. I much preferred it when there was categories and each version was its own "item" on the store page.

ballet no longer is interested in doing group buys - not at any discount at least. they feel they lose too much money I guess - they are now posting all these limited edition ones on the site and have stopped even informing me about them.

there are currently 3 or 4 event ones out there that I have gotten zero response back on my inquiries.

I am however not dissuaded from trying :)

They are probably loosing too much money offering free postage Globally for any order size to then have to turn around and offer cards at discount to resellers.

perhaps so but on average I would sell 20-25 sometimes more of each version the 2-3 bucks discount they would give me and then being able to ship all to me then sending all separately - as all orders within the US are free shipping - unless I am mistaken. so ship one package free or ship 30 packages free.

I agree - its much cheaper to buy them unloaded and load yourself - they know this and that is why the pures are only sold loaded now.

Have to agree with you...this design is used so much by everyone. I would think they could've put some more effort in coming with a unique design that would associate the coin with Ballet going forward.

I read somewhere that loaded Ballet Cards are treated as securities when sent loaded, so take care that your items don't come with the labels pealed off and redeemed by various boarder control authorities.

Hey thanks! Yes, that was the thread (don't know why, but I thought it was a much older topic).

As long as the Customs official was clued up, then being funded after the card arrived would be okay.

what is a shame is that Ballet specifically asked people to not share any review of the coin until 1/3/2024 - the official launch date.

however that was for the "testers" I think quite a few people got one as a "2023 Happy Holidays" gift. And that card did not ask but also stated that official release date was Jan 15th 2024 - which appears to be the "selling date" vs the 1/3/2024 "launch date"

so maybe they will consider all early posts/threads/reviews etc as being from those who received the Holiday one vs the test one sent to reviewers.

I am surprised their coin is bland/generic and not some new kick-ass design. I also have a hard time assessing the collectible value of Ballet products. My personal opinion is there is very little premium opportunity in them, but I will be thrilled if they have some eventual appreciation.

HOWEVER, I also cannot imagine the risks of selling these loaded products right now. Only 25 US States will allow them to sell there, securities questions etc. I bet they decided to go with a design that is recognizable to the general public due to all the other risk factors; playing it safe on design seems appropriate. I'm pulling for them gaining mass adoption.

I am inspired by the risks they are taking and the products they are testing. I'm a big fan of BTCC/Ballet/B. Lee/others. Keep up the good work!

I would think that the obvious way to have them create real collectibility in the ballet coins  is to do many numerous custom sets  with only small amounts like max #1 of #100 coins in a set,  and some 1 of 21 would be awesome, adding color into them would be great also.  1 new custom design coin a month would be great :)
