Post by: Peanutswar on April 03, 2020, 12:24:06 PM
To the beginners getting curious to want to add videos to their threads, I will up this thread so you can try to it too. But to add image and video you must need to be a Jr. Member.

This is how you can add video and direct to YouTube.

There are similar thread was explain that's guide here
Guideline on posting images (with size adjustments), hyperlinks (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3974517.0)

Please use search engine before create a thread. You should not create new thread if there a thread who have discussed it before.

To the beginners getting curious to want to add videos to their threads

Yeah, and the beginners should know they must be at least rank up to Jr. Member, since Brand new and newbie not allowed to post images.

You are adding a link to your video. Video cannot be played in the forum.

You can add animated gifs, which are like short videos. Those will be displayed in the forum.

To add them, just add like .gif images like you do with any normal image.

It's actually same as of posting an image. What you have done is: posting and image and linking it with a video, isn't it? There's no way of adding video in smf forum AFAIK. That's good on one hand that it would look spammy if multiple people post videos.

I don't know man, but this doesn't sound right to me.

If we do exactly what you say, then there is no way this topic will be reintroduced to newcomers and people. It's about recalling things.

But I think the right way to do this is to include the old thread as a reference to the new thread.

It is better to use GIFs instead. Video content makes the paragraph-ed and main context of a thread useless as a video can describe and tell everything a thread can. It is just useless as they would require to redirect to other websites and the idea of a forum would somehow be lessen. To be quite specific, Videos can tell a whole story a thread can't and it can even contain more content than a thread can. Hence, videos are unnecessary.

That's much better, someone will preview then access the link to the video url or can also add a play icon to the image that indicates it is video content.
