Post by: SatSquares on April 03, 2020, 03:20:07 PM
I'm interested in all feedback, comments, critiques of my site SatoshiSquares.com (http://SatoshiSquares.com).

You can play the demo version without registering, however if you do register, comment below with the screenname you registered with and I'll deposit some bits into your account.

Love to hear your thoughts.  Thanks

Right now btc, and ltc.  Certainly something that can change in the future, but keeping it simple for now.

Played a few games testing the site out. I would advise everyone to watch the tutorial just to know what's going on with 1 how to play and 2 the bonus game. The game itsself is pretty easy to understand and play. Choose a bet amount, choose bonus on or off, play the game and avoid bombs.

You can only play the bonus game on easy and for 1 bit bet? Small bankroll?
I have a couple quick questions, 1 why is the FAQ section blank? and 2 how do we test provably fair?

**EDIT** Found provably fair option, I suggest everyone take a look at that too. Looks to be a tutorial.

1. This is my first time testing it in the wild, I'm more interested to see the response right now with a conservative bankroll.
2. No one's asked any questions before today :)
3. Click on Verify Game Fairness and look at the visual explanation if you'd like.  Basically a double SHA256 right now.

Seems like its safe as http requests go, sql injection is pretty unprobable too so you should be safe
Other than that its a nice concept i like it, great job

No issues on my end. All squares I choose are working just fine.

Bonus game is fairly tough to get to 10 coins for minimum bonus.

Thanks for letting me know, does it happen if you change the size if your browser window as well?  Can you tell if its it only registers a click in the certain part of the square?

Maybe i'll try your site and also find some bugs or issues if I found one. I already did find bugs or issues on other site. I'll test your site later. I'll also register and here's my screen name - nakamura12. The text font reminds me of the game I played before I think it's a racing game not sure I remember it correctly. Looking forward to give feedback.

There should be about a 13% chance of getting to the 10 coin bonus, which I agree is tough.

The CLICK TO PLAY button should be the larger blue rectangle directly below the middle 4 gray squares that are a part of the game.  Let me know if you still can't find it, or if the text isn't appearing on the buttons.  Thanks.

I would avoid sending to newbies, just for the fact that you're gonna get alot of multi accounters chiming in for double and triple claims. You have no idea how many people try to cheat for pennies.

I know you want feedback, but plenty of ranked accounts will be willing to take a look for you, just have patience.

Yes and you got it already. Yahoo62278 already tried your site and I did see the bet results and don't forget I also tried your site. After spending all the free bits you sent I didn't win much until I lose it all. I wanted to try withdraw button see if it works but I don't know the minimum amount that you can withdraw. I suggest you provided these information like the fees when withdrawing funds minimum amount that you can withdraw. There is one you should know, I use firefox browser in my mobile phone and when I won the gane freeze and needed to refresh also please fix the FAQ. The FAQ is empty logged on or not take a look at the screenshot

Thanks, great feedback.  I haven't done tons of testing on different browser/platform combinations so good to know about the firefox mobile issue.   Right now I have nothing in the FAQ's, but I'll be sure to add deposit and withdraw info,  currently it's setup such that if you play a minimum amount, withdraws are feeless.  Otherwise if you play below the minimum you need to pay a fee which will be shown on the confirmation screen once you click withdraw.

I would like to do more test and tried other platform as well like using laptop and using other browsers in mobile phones as well. I'll post my feedback here once I am done testing it all out. Anyway, did you create your own ann thread here in this board?. Your lacking in activity points and soon you'll rank up to jr. member and able to post images for your ann thread if you haven't created one.

I recieved the bits you sent again and this time I use my phone's browser. Mobile phone brand is Vivo y53 and I also tried to stake but still pending. As what I understand holders must wait until midnight before it is processed. Well, haven't tried withdraw and deposit as I mentioned about the minimum so maybe i'll try it out once I have spare time. I'll be waiting for the stake and will surely try the referral too.

I doubt youll get to a decent wd amount unless betting limits increase. I managed to get to 200 bits myself then staked 50 before busting the rest. The bankroll looks to be around 11000 bits in btc and 1.2ltc or so. Will take some investors to get the bet limits raised.

You can read the staking FAQ and educate yourself on how it works.

While testing I'm going pretty conservative with everything, betting limits, and required stake for those limits to increase, they'll loosen up a bit once after testing.

I wanted to try this new gambling site here's my username: mikelsmith

My review about it:
- The retro design of the User interface is good but the color combination for me is a bit odd
- The Account, Logout and Tutorial lettering for me is a bad font and seems close to one another
- The tutorial is great and I understand how it work
- I suggest if you could add a chat box so gamblers could interact with one another
- Extra security of the account
- Lack of setting features, when I clicked the "account" there's no option for the account setting but a deposit and withdraw, referral programs and staking faq only
- I suggest as well to have some bonuses features so users would willingly play on your site

So far here's some of my observation if you will may to any amount to my account I will be able to test the game and give my feedback

Didn't register so I tried the game in demo mode.
- Loved the game - Nice and simple interface.
- Bonus option is available for only 1 bit and disabled for higher amounts, I guess its because of small bankroll or is it because of the demo feature?
- After playing a few games with the autoplay feature ON, there was a slight lag between the plays. I am not sure if it was my internet though.
- Checked the Provably fair tutorial, sounds good. But you have to add examples for Hard and Extreme modes too, where you have two inputs. Though it can be self-explained from the example given for the Bonus game, I think you should add them.
- FAQ page is blank. You should atleast add some basic details - regarding minimum deposits and withdrawal limits etc.

Wishing you all the best with the project :)

Tried playing in demo mode, too.
Really interesting and convenient interface! Something reminds me of an arcade game from 2000...
I wonder what kind of suicides play in extreme mode? ;D
It would be nice if you could add payout statistics... Something like a counter...

Good luck!

A nice looking site with mines type game implemented in a unique way. I like mine type of games but was tired of every of them going with the minesweeper like board while minesweeper is a different game of strategy and a bit luck while these mine games are complete luck.
Colors are suitable for a gambling site, I love the digital face of fonts. Still graphics can improve. Would look better with good colors and animation on the reels. By the way, I registered as username tsaroz.

I tried out the extreme and i cant even manage to hit up and go into the next path. Imagine 2 bombs and 1 safe but reaching out those bonus with having 30% on each step isnt impossible.

@Op, are those multipliers/bonus on extreme mode  are real? Whats the maximum bits/satoshis can be put out on a single run?

I love the site design and interface and as said this can be improved more.

I have not tried yet to register your site but when I was open the site it is good to see that there is a demo for players that did not know how to works out the game. This kind of feature should have in any kind of gambling platform. Probably later I will register, I need to understand first the content of term, after that, I will try to test your site. Nevertheless, I noticed that the FAQ there was empty information.

Hi, I tried your website and I think it is pretty good. I like the interface, it looks very cool. However, I have a detail that you might consider. To select the mode, I have to scroll down a bit. It would be perfect if you can resize the game to make it possible to select all things without scrolling down. The other but is that there isn't any chat. I would love to have a chat while playing. The other things are perfect.

@Op, are those multipliers/bonus on extreme mode  are real? Whats the maximum bits/satoshis can be put out on a single run?

They're real, but obviously tough.  If you did extreme mode with bonus, made it to the rightmost square and successfully completed the bonus you'd get 69202x your bet

Try the tutorial button in the top right.  And yeah FAQ is empty, I'll be added some info there soon.

Thanks for your input, chat and more mobile friendly interface are definitely things I plan to add.

And thanks to everyone else who's given their thoughts, very helpful!

already opened the site. I haven't tried it, maybe I'll try later. I will only give a little criticism for the design. I think there must be a change of appearance design, it does not mean bad, this is good! but it would be better if the display was made to be more elegant

Not registered yet and I will later and test it out but for now, i'll just provide some feedback about your site's design or platform. I did notice that the FAQ is empty and it would be nice that players are able to use auto fill up username and a feature where a person can check the remember button if someone wanted. The design is not bad but making it modern look would be nice too.

Testing the site is good enough to determine it's capability in order to avoid any sorts of confusions in the future. As a gambler we need to be vigilant because there were many feedback that came from different sites, which pertains to being compromised on their respective accounts. Scams these days is very rampant, so we need to investigate at first.

Got it. Thanks.

Tutorials are easy to understand and I think any five-year old can play the game easily which is great.
Background color is fine. I'll have to check again at night time.
I'm not sure why the bonus game is only available for Easy level and not on higher difficulty levels, is it because you're on a testing phase?
I also noticed only 1 bit is allowed for Extreme level, why?

Thanks, I've tested the site and here's the list of feedback. One of them is literally game-breaking.

Quote
1) The windows, regardless tutorial or something else appear choppy. They eventually transition smoothly after like repeating this over 10 times. Navigation is smooth.
2) Title is better located at the top left of the header. Currently it doesn't look enticing (try to think of Wheel of Fortune; something you might want to emulate)
3) Account info should be reworked into a box or something. With no box, it looks awkward.
4) Bonus needs an (?) icon beside it for some explanation. Not everyone would go through the tutorial (again) just to find out what it means.
5) Events loaded on site are delayed (~1 second)
6) There should be a toggle to enable/ disable sound
7) The SAFE and BOMB should be further elaborated. Do they cover the whole stretch, or just X squares when the game starts?
6) Game history box clips through the game when scrolling down
7) There should be a custom input field for wagering. For instance, LTC min bet is 0.0001 but why does it show unutilized extra trailing zeros in the balance?
8 ) Account doesn't show overview (name, date joined, yadda yadda)
9) Reflink is too long and ugly. Also, referral history can just show both BTC and LTC columns rather than a dropdown to choose either one.
10) Game reveals future bomb/ safe spots when you click on any square; I click on square 1, it's correct, the game shows square 2 (bomb), square 3 (safe), square 4 (bomb). Therefore, I know how to avoid the bombs the next round. You would definitely want to fix this first.

If you're still interested in people testing (if there wasn't enough feedback provided yet), I can try. From what I see for now and that seems not to be mentioned by others is that the font of the buttons is clearly non-standard which makes it a bit distracting. And I guess the logo 'Satoshi Squares' could use some improvement as well. Moreover, since financial operations are involved, the Terms page should mention the KYC policies of the website (which identification and under what circumstances can the website ask to provide). And while the FAQ is empty, the min and max deposit and withdraw sums should also be mentioned where a person pushes to find out the addresses and make transactions.

My main goal right now is to test the design, feel, enjoyably of the game.  So yes, because I'm in a testing phase, I want to keep the bet sizes quite small.

Awesome feedback, thanks for taking the time.  Replying to your (10), what you're seeing revealed are the bomb and safe spaces for the choice you just made.  However the bombs and safe spaces will replaced, and while they could end back up in the same squares, it's not necessarily true that they will.

Ah, that explains it. I previously recorded a video on Easy mode, so that's how I managed to avoid those bombs, haha.

Its just fine for me where a retro-like kind of design but well, we do have different taste when it comes to UI but overall operation is just fine and i do like where you can verify the fairness of each selection you would make
which is totally a plus for a new site like this. This is a new concept of a mine game which havent seen before or first time to have this idea which is great and something interesting.
In some changes i would like for some changes on inputs like btc balance to be placed on the top part of the page yet this had been always the common place for such values.

You can play the demo version without registering, however if you do register, comment below with the screenname you registered with and I'll deposit some bits into your account.

Love to hear your thoughts.  Thanks

I see that most of the results are negative does it mean that the players have a very less chance to complete this game as I even see that the difficulty is easy but end up negative result again.

And it will be good also if you will award a bounty if the player found a glitch/error in your game so many will be interested to play and report to you any glitch/error that they found. The tutorial is very simple and I will love to try your games maybe if I have free time in the following days so I can also check whether the chances of winning is probably fair enough for me to play it again and again.

I tried playing with the demo and for me it is just the same Mines Game with a twist so for me it is a great,
Instead of going to the popular and old Mines style you created a new game style for it.
The Demo is so helpful to understand more about the game.

Well that would be a bust but maybe it will be credited on the in game account since the OP stated that he will credit a little amount and I think it justify for a little payment for the feedback given if I'm not wrong with that, anyways will try to play the demo when I have spare time.

The most recent games shown on the site as I'm writing this (and I believe when you wrote the above quote as well) shows 8 games with the "extreme" difficulty and 2 games with the "easy" difficulty, all with losing results.  Winning the easy game should happen between 27%-38% of the time depending on which "money bag" you attempt to win, the extreme game is won less than 1% so while the recent results are unlucky, they aren't that unusual.

At some point as I release the game with a more robust bankroll I probably will add error bounty.  Thanks for the input.

That is intentional, anything you "earn" while not logged in (ie DEMO version) will be erased when you reload the page.

I'm having trouble accessing your website... The main page loads, then I try to log-in. I type in my username and password, but when I try to push the final 'LOG IN' button, nothing happens, apart from it getting a bit lighter. You should change the design of what happens when the mouse is on the button (so that it changes to the typical hand with a finger 'pushing it'), it would make it a bit more comfortable. It would not help with the current log-in problem, though... My Internet connection seems fine, and I am not experiencing issues on other websites. Moreover, I've been able to log in a couple of days before without any issues... Oh, and I've just noticed that the tutorial button doesn't lead me to tutorial anymore.

I think the website has something against VPN or maybe it is totally unrelated but in the end I can tell you that I can't even test the website. The homepage opens but when I click on the demo it doesn't do anything, then I said maybe it requires me to have an account so I tried to register but even after filling everything it asked me to fill and I clicked "create an account" afterwards, nothing happens, the website just basically stays still.

So neither I could test it without an account, nor I can open an account. Maybe that is because I am using VPN or maybe it is unrelated, I don't know the main reason unfortunately but that is what I am having trouble with right now. Just wanted to inform in case there is something you can do about it and fix it from this feedback.

Not sure why that would be at the moment, I'll take a look.  about 6-12 hours ago the server was down such that what you experienced makes sense ( I don't have a "can't communicate with server" screen up yet ), but if this happened to you recently then I'll need to check out what happened.

Ok so the site works and it's amazing.  Will probably deposit out of my own funds once you can bet higher.  Two small issues I saw were the following: #1 google Recaptcha stays there even after login and while it's not in the way it might be on a mobile or small-screened device? #2 after you lose everything it doesn't stop autoplay.  Not an exploit as you can't play but it requires refreshing the page to fix.

You're right, the Recaptcha symbol takes a bit too much of the screen on mobile.  And thanks for pointing out that autoplay error, just fixed it.  Thanks for testing!  :)

I tried accessing this site on an iPhone 5S (yes I Know old) using iOS 10 and it just shows a blank screen, doesn't load at all. This was with Safari which is the included browser with the phone. I noticed somebody earlier didn't have any issues with their android phone so I am surprised it doesn't load for me.

There are still many people out there with phones older than an iPhone 6 and you are missing out on potential traffic if the site doesn't load correctly on their mobile device. I am assuming that 50% or so people these days just play off their mobile devices and not on a traditional computer like an PC or laptop.

Either way, the site looks good. Keep up the good work being an active dev and you site should become more and more popular in the future.

Thanks for the encouragement, and for the details of your trying the site out on your iPhone.  I've actually been testing on an iPhone 5S as well, though it's using iOS 12.  But you're not the first to mention that they get a blank screen, so it's another helpful data point.  Thanks!

Tested on Safari + Brave on iPadOS, loads fine.

One thing, perhaps you might want to strengthen the password requirements? Instead of 2/ 3, make all mandatory, or add a symbol too.

That way, not even Satoshi can hack :D

Yeah, it seems to be working fine now. I went through the tutorial at first, and then moved to playing the game. It's quite simple but also unique which is a good thing on a market where people mainly offer the same stuff. So after playing a couple of times I developed a strategy which also seems to show the weakness of this website. You make the first step, into the first or second square; then you see which ones are safe in the future. So yeah, you can die at the beginning, but if you don't get bold, you can then step on the safe ones till the end of the game...? Or do those which used to be the green ones actually change into red ones sometimes in the next step? Edit: after playing more, I noticed it happens sometimes, so I guess everything is fine.
What could be useful, I think, is add the info on the chances of winning anything to when a person chooses the level. It would be convenient, so that one can assess the potential profit vs the odds of getting there rightaway. Oh, just now I've realized that these numbers about 'easy' and 'extreme' already give some idea of that, but perhaps it's not just me not noticing it immediately. And still, these are the changes per step, so to speak, not the chance of winning the game, right...?
I also liked how easy the fairness check is on your website, and that you even made a tutorial on how it works.
What you could add to the website is the chat, so that players can communicate.
The game's nice, but I believe the website's design is a bit simplistic. If it looked more professional, I am sure that more people would be interested in playing.

already opened the site. I haven't tried it, maybe I'll try later. I will only give a little criticism for the design. I think there must be a change of appearance design, it does not mean bad, this is good! but it would be better if the display was made to be more elegant

Thanks for taking time to look at it and respond.  Curious, to know if you viewed it on desktop or moblie?
that the responses and input that I provide may be useful  ;) . I looked through desktop mode.

You're right, that's probably a good idea

Sounds like you figured a few things out on your own.  I added a few more questions/answers to the FAQ that may answer some of your questions, let me know if I didn't quite answer them.  Seems like a lot of players want chat, so I'll put that on the list.  We'll see if I can get it professional looking soon, thanks for taking your time to give me feedback.

iPadOS means its an iPad and generally many website which aren't mobile versions have no problems loading the entire site on an iPad, because unlike a phone, its easy to navigate the entire page since the screen is much bigger.

I am wondering if anyone with a newer phone and newer iOS can see if it works. I tried to clear cache but it still doesn't load, I had this issue before on many of these gambling sites and usually doing a quick history clear, and it will start right up, however for Satoshisquares it still doesn't load.

So if the admin wants to investigate there is some emulator you can use and it can pretend to be an iPhone and see if you can get the site to load on that. If it still doesn't load then maybe its an issue mostly with iPhones or with the Safari web browser that is included.

Well, it really depends. Excluding Safari, some sites fail to load properly on the Brave browser for the iPad. Kinda frustrating having to alternate between the two.

By right, iOS 10 should still be able to load most sites without any issues since it's not like totally ancient yet (last update was 7 months ago). That's the sad thing though, not all devs have the access to an expensive fruit device.

This link shows what browsers my site should support.  I made some changes so that it should work on a wider range of browsers, including iOS 10, though since I can't test it, I don't know for sure.

adaseb, if you can, give it a try and let me know if anything changes for you.  For fun I dusted off my old iphone 4 and, not too surprised, the site didn't load.

But I believe I mentioned earlier, that I have an iphone 5s with iOS 12 that I've tested with, and the site worked fine before the changes, but iOS 12 is also included on the list in the link, where iOS 10 isn't.

Not sure why that would be at the moment, I'll take a look.  about 6-12 hours ago the server was down such that what you experienced makes sense ( I don't have a "can't communicate with server" screen up yet ), but if this happened to you recently then I'll need to check out what happened.

It seems to happen again. So far I've only tried to access the site and it's slow. Reload several times and finally wait for approximately 4 minutes to load the home page (via chrome and firefox).
If this is a server problem, it might be better to choose a better server to serve users who are likely to increase in the future.

This time I don't have an excuse.  I don't think it's the server itself, it's up and running fine, more likely something wrong with my own implementation.  Thanks for letting me know!

Wanna give it a shot and let you know my feedback:

Username-Seleme

Thanks.
Reason for edit: got 50 bits (thanks :))

I got my bits and decided to try the Satoshi box game. It was fun but the site has reminded me of the old Dendy (console) games :) Already lost the received due to the bad luck but the smooth interface was fascinating for gamers without high expectations. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

I'm certainly open to the idea of adding more games, I'm just wanting to wait to see how this one works out once it's fully released, before adding anything new.  I've come up with 2 more games that are simple to play like this one, but ones that I haven't seen anywhere else.  The game you posted the link to "satoshi-karoshi" looks like it's similar to other games that already exist (though I didn't actually get to play it).  Once I get to the point where I'm ready to add another game, I'm sure I'll ask players if they want something that's popular that already exists, or if they'd like another new game.

Looks like that should happen in another 4 hours.  Lets cross our fingers that it works!  :)

I would avoid sending to newbies, just for the fact that you're gonna get alot of multi accounters chiming in for double and triple claims. You have no idea how many people try to cheat for pennies.

I know you want feedback, but plenty of ranked accounts will be willing to take a look for you, just have patience.

I understand the fears about the new forum members, but I read everywhere that don’t write here - you’re a newbies, I don't care what you said - you're a newbies.

I want to thank everyone for their input on my site.  I've implemented many of the suggestions and will continue to make updates, so keep the suggestions coming.

The BTC max limits have also increased, so have a look around, and give the game a try.

just registered..   game is super unique, I like it.

I see the staking option..  how many players do you currently have?   and do you offer higher % to earlier adopters/stakers?

Also,  i see that some withdrawals will be manually reviewed and can take up to 8 hours.   How is that determined?  I certainly don't want to deposit and possibly have to wait a day to receive my funds - Although, I understand why you might have to do that.

Thanks for checking it out.

I failed to update the FAQ page, which has now been updated.  The testing phase is over which means that while there are still checks in place to detect abuse,  the previous manual withdraw reviews have been lifted.

Currently the number of players is quite low, that's due to the fact that the site has only moved outside of the testing phase 14 hours ago, so it's quite new.  Right now early adopters/stakers don't receive a higher percentage, but that's something that may change as we adapt to the market.

It would be better if it could support more currencies!
