Title: Newbie to Jnr
Post by: naseem_essa on April 09, 2020, 01:14:49 AM
Hey!
So I've been a lurker on this forum for quite a few years now, but I still see newbie below my name :P
The way that the forum is structured and designed makes it rather unintuitive to seek out specific stuff, so I thought I'd make a topic about it.

1. How quickly does 'Activity' reflect on account
2. Are there any are specific parts of the forum that you don't accumulate activity from by posting?
3. Is there an upgrade option (paid in BTC) to reach higher member status?

You must read this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0) to find the answer.

So far you can only pay for copper membership (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote) with features equivalent to the "Member" rank. But it will not change your current rank. Read more here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2385104)

That's because you have not earned a(1)merit as of yet, and truth be told, even if you have, you have not been active enough to reach the number of activity that's required to move up: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030366.0)
The way that the forum is structured and designed makes it rather unintuitive to seek out specific stuff, so I thought I'd make a topic about it.
This assertion is not true, you can seek information on the forum even without asking anyone or starting a thread, all you need do is just to make use of the "search" button and you'll see topics were your "enquiries" have been discussed.

1.
Quote
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

2. You can post whatever you want but you can get 14 activity maximum in a 14 day period.
3. You can purchase copper member- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote

In addition with activity, you now are also required to get merit to rank up. Be active and you will make it.

Hmm, no I don't think so. The forum itself is enough. You have so many things you can learn from it but everything depends on how deeper you dig or how persevere you search (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=search) since many topics are generated everyday and they all pile up as time goes by. By the way, you might also found the basic infos you need to acquire on pinned posts from different sub boards where it belong. Good luck :).
3. Is there an upgrade option (paid in BTC) to reach higher member status?
Lol. If that way is existing and implemented very long time ago already then for sure most of us here are Legendary members now :D. Well, like they've said, there'z no other way except from getting merits. So be a good member and create helpful/informative topics and posts as much as you could so that you will rank up.

Hi, you're wrong. From what I read it's true he can upgrade to member rank by purchasing cooper membership here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote (Paid in BTC)
He doesn't mean the "highest rank" but "higher rank"

I wouldn't call it an upgrade, more like a privilege.

The user maintains the rank of a Newbie (assuming he/ she hasn't ranked up yet), with Member addons. He or she still won't be able to join signature campaigns.

1.if i remembee it correctly you will be given 14 activity every 2 weeks. To rank up  to jr.member you need to have 1 merit + 30 activity.

2. You will only get that activity (potential activity) if you make a post on that week in any section . If you dont make any post you will not also  be given an activity( potential activity) so even your account is older if you dont make any post it is the same as having a brand new account.

3. Yes there is coppermembership that you can pay, this membership mostly use by newbies to post images and wear own signature .

Even if you have simply googled this question you would have got the reply to your question. Here is the detailed explaintion by Theymos https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

Probably because of no proper contribution to the forum since signup is the biggest reason for the newbie status below the username. You can pay and upgrade but, even after that any activity against the forum rule can permanently ban the account. Thus, the best thing is to read forum rule have upgrade with natural capacity.

Hey all!

Thank you for all of your responses!

I really appreciate them; seems like Jnr is at least a month and a few days away from becoming a reality, but I have faith  :D

Once again, thank you all

Seems that you haven't read about the ranking system after all. You have forgotten about 1 merit. I have a feeling, that for you, that might be a problem.

Here is a little quote for you as getting merit might be your next qustion. And my personal advice - try translating something useful in to English language for Beginners & Help section (of course if you could).

For short... Create constructive, useful, and high quality post
Here are some guide to get merit :

<…> 2. Are there any are specific parts of the forum that you don't accumulate activity from by posting? <…>

There are a couple of boards/childboards where posting does not contribute to the Activity toll:
You've previously posted in the Serious Discussion section, and any posts in that section, and it's child boards don't contribute towards post count. <...>

The other questions (1 and 3) I fell have been answered in the above posts thoroughly enough.

OP, you should probably lock this thread if the answers above are sufficient. There is a 'lock topic' button in the bottom left.

In your case you have 13 activity post. You'll need a total of 30 activity post by posting in this forum and you will also need to earn 1 merit which you earned 1 already. Earning merit is by posting helpful or useful threads and many more ways to earn. Increasing your activity and merit will affect your rank depends on the requirements.
