It's much better that you spend your time during lockdown like the ones you mentioned. Increasing your security at this time is recommended. Scammers are taking their chance to scam people and if you don't know much about keeping your security and privacy tight then this one will help. You should also add a thread about google authenticator or authy if some people prefer using it.

A good collection of posts, Yes these days a lot of scammers are tried to scam the people who don't care about the crypto security. As we can know the touching with the forum.

Nice post, spending your tine with that things is more useful than other things, learning is the best way to kill our boredom at home while we still under community quarantine. Spend your time in more productive things, instead if spending it in social media, use this time to learn more things

Let us all make our day under community quarantine be productive, good thing for you is that you spend your time on more valuable things, learning is for lifetime, there is no limit on learning new things because time by time everything evolves especially in the field of technology where having new is really quick and upgrading always happens. For us to go with the flow of emerging technology, we should keep learning especially about technology because in the end of the day technology will be the best, there are so many things that technology can bring to us.
Learning about securities and protection of accounts is really important because of so man hackers and scammers in the crypto world.

Eh, there's some advice in that article that really isn't great.

Both 1Password and LastPass are proprietary and closed source. You should use an open source manager such as Bitwarden or KeePass instead.

SMS based 2FA is not secure. Use an open source authenticator app such as Authy or Aegis.

"Install a VPN" is poor advice as many people would default to using a free VPN, which almost always makes your security and privacy worse, not better. You need to research and pay for a good VPN.

Biometric security (facial recognition, fingerprints scanning, etc.) is much easier to fool and bypass than a strong password. Don't use it.

Thank you. They are excellent threads. I read them but don't totally understand all details. In the long lockdown period, I wish I will learn as many useful things on privacy and security from them. The OP was updated with your help.

A small way I have made myself have a bit more privacy is getting away from Google and its Products.
I dont know if this is a a thread to put on the list, I was just amazed how much Data Google had on me and was constantly collecting.

Nice thread, as of this community quarantine, we should make something productive. Securing our wallet is really important, it will make our accounts away from hackers. Those wallet that is not well secured are prone from attacks that is why there are many wallets that have been stolen by the hackers because of having lack of securities.

It's good u really taken time to inform us of our safety of our wallet, indeen scanners are in the rampant, it's also necessary to work with the relevant security agency put in place to check cybercrime or scanner, constantly updating ur password and most time google authentication do help

Thank you for this useful meta-thread but I'm little bit surprised to not find any topic about multisig wallets there while it's one of the best ways to secure funds IMHO.
You just need to install a multisig wallet on your computer and another one on your smartphone to get a kind of secure 2FA wallet. Then you just need to scan the QR-code of your transaction with your smartphone when you want to send some funds.

I know companies that do not allow their employees to store sensitive data on non-private cloud based solutions such as Google Drive, Box or OneDrive. That means that, from a security point of view, those are not considered unbreachable, and thus their protocols avoid their usage for certain types of information. On a personal scale that should be considered as applicable with crypto related information too.

Security and privacy is a vital aspect in cryptosphere especially, in this era of hackers and scamming being the other of the day and with the decentralized nature of cryptocurrency, one can not be too careful.
It's of note that once one way is closed, another is open so also, once a trick is disclosed and blocked, another is likely to be developed. Hence, the necessity for these topics you've gathered to ensure one hardly misses a chance that best fits the security situation one needs.
Hope you update more as it comes.

I'd rather spend my time visiting these threads so that I can improve my knowledge and become aware about those things that can harm my privacy.

Most of the newbies here are not that knowledgeable when it comes to this kind of situation, and this is really helpful for them and that's for sure.

These collections of post is a must read to gather information and become well-informed towards those scenarios and so they know what to do if their privacy becomes at risks. Scammers and hackers in this generation are really unpredictable and hard to capture so as soon as possible, if you don't want to become their victim, read what OP posted.

This is a good long list and right now I already read four thr3ada recommended by you OP because previously I'm having trouble with the use of the security before I'm just a person does not have using 2FA passwords because I don't make it hassle to open my applications and other software. But some of those threads enlighten me about the things I need to do right now.

Right now I'm involve in the world of cryptocurrency I think I need to make a lot of improvements right now. Once again this is a good list to keep up your work.

Nah, dude. That was an attack news and wasn't definitely pertaining to Security and Privacy and guides to that or some sort. The thread you've mentioned was just literally a news and a little precaution with the modern attack, as I guess, the OP was meant for merely a prevention and guides to be both secured and private.

I have already suggested in my local board to add that, yet I missed suggesting it in here too back then.

Many things has been learnt from this pandemic. cautious of security, ensure your wallet is well sure from hacker, many wallet have been hack due to lack of security.
Personal details should not be dispose anyhow not to attract any hacker in the forum.

Is it safe using like public wifi... if you have a paid vpn though?

Depends on what you mean by "safe". It's certainly safer, but it isn't 100% safe, because nothing is. Ideally you should never use a public WiFi. If you must use one, then a good VPN is a must and even then I would only use it for casual browsing and I would never log in to any accounts or enter any personal details in to any websites.

A VPN only protects you from the WiFi owner or another user connected to the hotspot from viewing your otherwise unencrypted internet traffic. It won't protect you from people trying to inject malware in to your device, or bugs or vulnerabilities in your OS or browser, or your phone or computer broadcasting other services (such as file sharing) to the local network, and so on. And you also have to have complete trust in your VPN provider, not just that they aren't monitoring your traffic, but that their encryption algorithms and software are doing what they claim.
