Title: Advertise on loyce.club's Trust list viewer - for Covid-19 charity
Post by: LoyceV on April 17, 2020, 06:16:03 PM
The Why
Two months ago (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5210425.msg53832805#msg53832805),  irfan_pak10 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=350580) suggested to add advertising on loyce.club (http://loyce.club/). I thought about it (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5210425.msg53836694#msg53836694), but didn't add it yet.
A few days ago, irfan_pak10 created 💰Fundraising campaign-Feed the one who are affected by the COVID-19 🦠Pandemic (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5240168.0).

Combining those two ideas, here's a first chance to advertise on LoyceV's Trust list viewer (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5102296.0) (this link leads to it's topic on Bitcointalk, advertising won't be in this topic), and the full payment will go towards the Fundraising campaign.

The Where and When
Many Bitcointalk users will be familiar with my weekly Trust list viewer, but if not: see this topic (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5102296.0). I currently have 65 weeks (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5102296.msg49423608#msg49423608) of "historic snapshots". This auction is to advertise in the next available "week" after the auction ends.
Until now, I haven't deleted any weekly data, and I plan to keep data as long as possible. This means your advertisement may stay up there for several years, although I don't want to make any promises due to possible hosting and/or backup problems.

This auction is for one advertising spot on every user page for next week's snapshot of my Trust list viewer. Last week, there were 13,541 of those pages. The next one will likely have a few pages more (or less). This depends on how many users create a custom Trust list, or are included or excluded by someone else. Users without any posts won't show up (for technical reasons (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5102296.msg52523976#msg52523976)).
I'll probably change all URLs from "http" to "https" somewhere in the future.

To show which area on those (many) pages is available for advertising, in last week's Trust list (http://loyce.club/trust/2020-04-11_Sat_05.25h/459836.html), it would be this red rectangle:
http://loyce.club/other/advertising.png

The Bidding
Starting bid: 0.002112 BTC (enough for one family for one month (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5240168.msg54213861#msg54213861))
Minimum bid increment: 0.0001 BTC
Auction ends: exactly 3 days (72 hours) after creating this topic.
Anti sniping rule: If bids are made less than 10 minutes before the auction ends, the auction will be extended until 10 minutes after the last qualifying bid.

The Rules
I reserve the right to refuse advertisements that I don't trust. So no ponzi for instance. I'll also add a disclaimer under each advertisement, saying this was for charity and that I don't endorse the site.
No NSFW content or websites.
No personal attacks.
No scripts.
No tracking.
No animations.
No rediculous sizes. A "normal" banner is no problem, say width 800px, height 80px. Or text. It's probably best to ask before bidding.
The advertisement won't show in the BBCode (such as http://loyce.club/trust/2020-04-11_Sat_05.25h/BBCode/459836.txt which can be used to post on Bitcointalk).

The Payment
The winner pays directly to this address, which is escrowed by minerjones (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5240168.msg54213946#msg54213946) for irfan_pak10's fundraising campaign:
BTC: 3QKLyiGvwUgSeCJcKKQnmvW6XsB1fbFBjM
Payment and advertising details should be provided within 72 hours after winning this auction.

The Disclaimer
Please bear with me, I'm new to this. I'll try my best, but if I mess something up, I can already tell you it's unintentional!
If the advertised site turns out to be a scam at any point, I will remove all advertisements without refund.
If a reason (such as hosting or backup problems) comes up in the future, your advertisement may disappear without a refund. You pay for a one-time placement, that stays online for an unknown amount of time.
You should own the copyright on any images you want me to display.

Thank you for winning this auction! Great choice what to advertise!
Please pay 0.005 BTC to the address in the starting post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5241331.msg54243489#msg54243489) and let me know how you want the advertisement to look: graphics, text, maybe something like the fundraising signatures (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5240168.msg54213864#msg54213864) (it won't hurt to check if irfan_pak10's contacts (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5240168.msg54220674#msg54220674) allow the use of their work on an external site).
For transparancy, please post your wishes here publicly.

I mean transparency, now it becomes painfully obvious how much I rely on the Edit button after posting :(

Thank you, LoyceV.

Payment (along with a donation) sent, here's the TxId: 252aeae32ed83ad5692a46c31e219ac9605f8599e269ccc7ca421a5ea38af4e8 (https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/252aeae32ed83ad5692a46c31e219ac9605f8599e269ccc7ca421a5ea38af4e8)

For the graphics, I like your suggestion for one of the signature banners.  That would be great, assuming permission is granted.  I've sent irfan_pak10 a PM to discuss.

Thanks again, and stay safe.

Updaate:
irfan_pac10 informed me that elmanchez made the signatures.  I asked elmanchez for his permission to use the image for the banner on your site and he agreed.  I'll ask him to confirm here publicly.

I didn't quite understand what you meant by this comment until now.  Rather than make a new post I wanted to add an update my previous one.  Apparently I don't post enough in this section to have noticed the lack of an "edit" button before.  Better double check my spelling and grammar right now.

The transaction is confirmed now, you'll make 5 families happy for a month!

Great!
@elmanchez; when you're posting here, can you add the signature as an image? On my browser most signatures look slightly different, adding some space where it shouldn't be.

This stops Auctions from being cheated, but it's sometimes slightly inconvenient. Just like I can't edit the title. I can probably negate it by temporarily moving the thread to another board, but let's not do that.

No rush, but ... I kinda need to know what exactly to advertise before tomorrow evening (Amsterdam time), so I can include it in the update of my Trust list viewer on Saturday morning.

I took the second one (the smallest), 950 pixels should fit most browsers.

It took me far longer than it should have to figure out why the image wasn't showing up in my test: Adblock was blocking it! I changed the file location a bit and now it works.
See http://loyce.club/other/advertising/sample.html for a test-version. Assuming this is okay, it's scheduled to be online in tomorrow's update of my Trust list viewer.

It looks really cool.
The text would have done a little more under the banner and there would have been fire at all!
