Title: Why do we have information mixed up this way?
Post by: Chris Barth on April 21, 2020, 11:36:56 AM
I really don't understand this. I actually thought that bitcoin was created somewhere around the second half of the year. Cause I've seen something like that somewhere in a blog. Besides, we celebrated the 10 bitcoin anniversary during the second half of last year. So how come am I getting this that bitcoin was created on the 3rd January. Is that true? Or another false information?

It's true. You must have mixed it with bitcointalk.org anniversary (November 22).

Well, there are many dates. You can read at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satoshi_Nakamoto
In August bitcoin.org was registered.
In October the white paper was shown to the world.
In January the genesis block was created (so our blockchain) and the first Bitcoin was mined.

So everybody's right, in a way or another  ;)

Well, talking about the date bitcoin was created, it can't be the second half of the year cause it was the later things that was done then. Just that most blogs aren't always specific about what they are saying. Some blogs would say bitcoin was created in October 2009 whereas that could be misleading.

Oh! 🤦🏽‍♂ That just came in my senses. Slip of thoughts I guess. But then, Some blog (in fact, most blogs) say that bitcoin was created in the month of October or a month in the second half of the year. To be honest, I can't remember hearing that bitcoin was created in January let alone the 3rd (Beginning) of January

It's very rude to bash people unnecessarily. You signed up days ago and you're already this way. Trust me, in this community, you have to learn (with manners). You can always prove a point in a more respectful way. Also, learn to respect people you meet over the internet, especially in forums like this (where you don't have a clue who're you're talking to). Friendly advice my dear friend.

Of course it's ideal if everyone's friendly.

On the other hand, there's no hard and fast rule against rude comments unless they go overboard. Everyone has their own way of commenting. Some could even have a bad day.

Usually if a user don't like someone by their way of commenting, there's always the Ignore option beneath the profile. Just saying.

Well, that simply means that you've missed some threads here and there.

If you don't read back much, it's easy to miss, January 3rd is mostly a day for hangover or getting back to work than reading  ;)
