Title: Multiple Riser on molex PSU
Post by: Vixia on April 22, 2020, 04:01:14 PM
Hey, I saw that a molex was supplying 132w

I have a corsair power supply which has 4 molex on the same cable, is there a risk of putting 1 riser per molex socket on this cable? is the cable supplied 4x 132w?

Molex are only for connecting riser (not the gpu) and no spliter, just molex from the psu cable (4 or 3 per cable with the corsair rm 1000x)

I have max 2 risers connected this way and it works fine. GPU will of course have their own dedicated connectors. Connecting all 4 risers to the same cable maybe a bit overkill. You should have plenty spare cable and slots with the GPU though. Take a look at the discussion in this post for some details:

Edit: You may want to move this topic to the Altcoin mining board as topic relates to GPU mining: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0). The link will be at your bottom left to move topic/ lock topic
