Actually, I only use the 4 main feature of the smartphone I'm using.
1, Listen and call.
2, Reading newspaper, watching movie, listening to music
End. I really feel wasted.

I have my phone on me basically for 3 reasons.

1. The usual calling/messaging
2. Gambling and checking sports scores
3. Social Media

I rarely play games on my phone, too time consuming.

Yes, but we still have to buy an expensive phone just for that.
If only manufacturer could offer them the right feature and reduce the cost for unused feature.

I usually use it to call, watch funny videos and check bets from sports.

I can't remember the last time I actually used it to call someone. Mostly WhatsApp, YouTube, news etc.

From wakeup to bed I will be holding my smartphone with me.Anything you can do from anywhere if you have money and internet connection so yeah I am doing so much things which has not end to the list.

i have separate Phone 1 i use for my personal and one is for other things like surfing internet,gaming,gambling,watching movies and even checking the market prices.

I have 3 phones, 1 landline, 1 flip-phone (with SIM card), 1 smartphone (no SIM card).

I use the landline and flip-phone for voice calls only, no texting. Landline doubles as my non-anonymous internet connection (DSL) which serves mainly as a decoy..

Both flip-phone and smartphone are fully anonymous (I'd never log my smartphone onto my home ISP). I use the smartphone to log onto wifi hotspots for internet access when I'm not at home and use it for Whatsapp voice calls when there's no available cell or landline phone service such as where I am now in the jungle in Mexico.

I hate texting. It's a step backward, like going back to the 19th century when people were forced to use text messages (telegrams) because Alexander Graham Bell hadn't invented voice messaging yet. Real communication requires face-to-face contact but remotely at least you should be able to hear subtle voice inflections and other non-verbal clues.

I avoid Farcebook, Twit-ter, Instascam, Rubetube and other PRISM data-mining sites whenever possible and would never consider creating an account. I can't believe people are actually that gullible.

Unless I must or I have to actually use a bigger screen than my phone, I practically use it for almost everything I do online nowadays (for personal and work use)! ;D

Smart phones simply got smarter over time and I simply must upgrade my 2 year old smartphone already. By the way, it's technically a 4 year old smartphone since I actually bought an older generation version and it's not exactly working properly anymore at this point, so that's why I've decided to recently get myself the latest and greatest iPhone of them all instead (it's about time)! ::)

I mostly use my phone for the following, in this particular order: Making phone calls - I have to make multiple work-related phone calls every day. Checking emails - Work takes priority over everything else. Checking WhatsApp - A lot of important work-related conversations

Chat with other people, check the update news from some social media, make a call to other people, watch a movie in Youtube, sometimes playing offline and online games, connected my laptop to my mobile phone if I don't get any internet connection, use my phone as an alarm to wake me up ;D ;)

If I could, I would have never owned a smartphone.
I don't use all the features that a smartphone can provide and I feel that I don't have any need owning it.
Usually, I spend time in social media and messaging with my smartphone.

That's the funny thing. People chase after the latest models, but they use simple apps, lightly game or just browse the web. And they change them after like 1 - 2 years whenever new models come out.

I'm still happy with my nearly 4-years-old Android phone that lags a little on heavy sites but other than that, works just fine.

No value added to our lives... My smartphone is also around 4 years old and I am pretty happy that it is still functionable. If it does open and not having any real problem there is not any reason to change it.

My phone it's my life..And it's weird to realize that.

I use my phone for texting,calls,internet browsing and lastly to my online gigs. I use also to invest in cryptos.

mobile to me like my second life. I can't live without a cellphone, I use a cellphone for communication, playing games and storing some work files

Social media, fb, reddit, watch videos on YouTube Netflix, make payments and use crypto, in general I just don't use it to play games.

It’s convenient for me to read books on my phone, since my phone has a large screen. Therefore, I use the phone as a book.

Pretty much everything! From manga readings to watching videos to social interaction.
I also play games most of the time. I do cryptocurrency-related tasks.
It also acts as a KEY to most of my accounts across the internet through 2-factor-authentication.
If ever I lose my phone, that would mess up almost everything as I have every important stuff stored here.
Having a 128 GB internal memory for a phone is very useful.
You don't have to worry when to delete files.
I have this phone for over a year now and hopefully I don't get to replace it yet as technology advances.

First of i want mention call+text, otherwise watching movies and like crypto market research. Particular my phone quality is to low so i never play popular games. At least more free time i like spend in YouTube so much to help us.

Ohh just like what uber driver does,and yeah thats very helpful but i think you should use another device for that and the main phone is for your personal things.
Don't use for gaming if your phone is low quality because it wont last longer.

I tried but at least my phone the screen is not good to keep reading for hours, I think it depends of the kind of screen.

Unlike before, your phone nowadays is basically like a pocket computer that's at your service 24/7. It's only saddled with the limited screen size, memory capacity and battery life. But with the right accessories to help ensure that your phone doesn't succumb to those obvious limitations, the possibilities are endless. All in all, it really just depends on what you'd like to use it either for personal use and/or for business use.

Personally, my phone is my go to device and I only need to use a computer or laptop if I needed to work faster using a bigger screen coupled with a regular keyboard for faster input as well.

My phone serves same my computer. All things needed to be done on the PC, I do it via my phone thus making it much more useful to me than just sending sms or placing calls.

I think I do literally everything on my phone. I may even say I live with it 24/7. Texting, calling, searching for any kind of information. With QR codes, you get access to lots of services. Also, payments are much easier nowadays. I don't need a wallet, just a cell phone.

Honestly, same. I don't know if it's the introvert in me, or what, but i just don't find the appeal in calling people.

Making phone calls - I have to make multiple work-related phone calls every day.
Checking emails - Work takes priority over everything else.
Checking WhatsApp - A lot of important work-related conversations also happen through WhatsApp messages.

I love to use social media. I am using my phone for Instagram, Facebook , Snapchat and WhatsApp.

I hate reading books through my phone, for some reason it hurts my eyes and i'll always get sleepy after the first page haha.

Nonsense, i never use it for phone calls. Almost nobody would do normal phone calls anymore.

So, internet browsing, casual gaming, alarm clock, taking pictures, listening to music or during blackouts, fm radio.

I find it ironic that the name "phone" is still on it. Sure, voice calls inside IM are pretty much the same thing but free; but the "phone" carriers are actually better described as mobile internet providers.

Do millenials even know what the word "telephone" means? Have you seen those "kids react to rotary phone" videos? Its probably a concept that no longer means anything. "television" is also on its way to extinction, for the same reason.

So if a millennial reads this... Umm up until the 80ies or 90ies, "socialize" meant voice calling your friend using your family phone installed in your house. And yes, the thing wasn't exactly private, if there were more sets in the home they could pick it up and listen to your conversation (it was usually audible so you knew). This is because each home usually had a single line everyone had to share. And if you were using it for your VERY important social call (ie. gossip talk to your friend) then maybe your mom couldn't get a call from her Doctor or something.

Can you imagine? Hard to describe it. Since everyone can have their own "phone" line around, people don't even remember those things anymore. And while i didn't experience it, I'm told in more rural towns was worse, often phone lines were shared among neighbors.

Watch shows from the 80ies (or depicting the 80ies) and you'll often find a youth talking on the phone for hours. And after finish talking to friend A (who probably gave you new juicy info) you totally had to tell friend B. Rinse and repeat.

With social media this stuff is now redundant. But yeah, people did socialize before... Human nature and all.

Tbh I don't use phone for what it's supposed to be, which is calling people lol.

Mostly, I use WhatsApp for communication and rest I use on YouTube, Netflix etc.

I rarely recharge my phone for talk-time to talk to because I don't like talking as an introvert. Texting is just fine.

But then again, we live in a world which has become small with help of technology!

The present age is named the age of science and technology if we've to settle on one among the weather of technology that has haunted an enormous space in our lives then that space will undoubtedly tend to smartphones. Also widely used as a way of communication these sites on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram are very helpful in video chatting calls. It also helps tons in transactions wherever we are within the world. I am going to answer to this thread because I feel I am not using the full capacity of my cell phone.

3. Play games (the las time I played was 3 months ago)

That's it ... and my phone would drain its battery for about an hour of continuous usage. Three hours if I'm no using mobile data.

I’m always online and o have lots of engagement especially with my clients because I offer an online service. I’m a music lover so my audiomack is always booming. I was mostly using my phone for mobile games a few years ago. But I have occasionally been playing games on my phone for a long time. Lately, I use it for my work the most. And I mostly use it for Whatsapp too of course. I contact with my friends from there most of the time.

Major use of my phone is also phone calls and messages. Not into social media so I don't have much clutter in my phone. But I do have apps like for food delivery, a ride-hailing company, one e-commerce app and that's it. As much as possible, I want to have a simple life without too much things to attend to. Ah yes, I read news also.

Calling, social media, and taking pictures. I'm not very big fan of the people who can't stop stare in the phone.   

Well nowadays, I use my phone for everything especially with internet things. I dont even open my laptop/desktop because of the accessibility a mobile phone have, i can do all things that a laptop can do on a mobile phone. Eg. Surfing the net, gaming, editing etc.

It might sound unbelievable to some, but most of the time, I use the phone to communicate.  ;D

I don't like to do all the 'internet stuff' on the phone because it's cumbersome. Large full resolution displays are much more appropriate for this kind of thing.

I use it for social media, checking update on the price of bitcoin, gaming is the most i use of my phone because i addictive to much of MOBA games after of spend of gaming i watch Netflix until my battery is low. That's always when i do to my phone everyday routine.

Most of the time my phone is used for speaking and chatting up with friends and other relatives. Sometimes when feeling bored and while travelling do not have anything to do then might end up playing some games just for fun. Else use it for talking purpose only.

Yesterday I used my cell phone for something for the 1st time and it was to order food to be delivered. 
There are not so many places that will deliver to personal homes cause of Covid 19 but I did for the 1st time and I was overall ok with how the experience went. 

This will be the only time I order food from my cell phone.

I never use my Mobile in telegram because i read in some post here about the risk using that Apps in our important gadget.

Though i have also installed in one extra phone that i only use for some games and calls but other than that nothing more.

It seems to me that there is no function in a smartphone that I would not use. For a moment I even got scared at the thought of what my life would be like without it.

all kinds of apps, for map/photo/reading novels/twitter/facebook/reddit/youtube/wechat. sometimes I'll record some funny voices, like when my little sister gets angry she's utter very violent but funny sentence, record my parents' snore, when my dog/cat meow/ wangwang, that's interesting ;)

My phone is only used for social media, camera, music, and games, nothing special here

I usually use it for chatting, calling, texting, shopping online, watching dramas and playing games.

I use a lot of Internet, occasionally watch movies, play games, and encounter good-looking photos.

At the moment I am using mobile to know the news from all over the world with my mobile and now I have started doing some small work of cryptocurrency with mobile from which of course I can lift my own position a little bit.

For me, aside from this online shopping, my phone is mainly for call and text purposes only. I read/watch news on my laptop. Also, for food delivery. Because you need to use the app to order something these days. And also to take photos, I guess a lot of us use smartphone to take unexpected events, right?

It's strange, but for the past few years I haven't used my phone to make calls at all. I only communicate through instant messengers or something else.
I often use notes on my phone because I often have interesting ideas and thoughts that need to be written down.
Well, and social networks.

I am limiting my Mobile use these days because of the rampant hacking and phishing happening all over the internet .
 Now i only use my coins for Texting and Phone calls and some offline needs . though i can't really stop using for internet for some time.

I use my mobile phone to contact friends, watch movies or fun videos, and pass the time.

recently his teacher somehow gets obessive with posting assignments online and I have to check it with my phone. it's driving me crazy :)

I use my phone for these twp reasons:
1. call and send or receive message, keep contact with my colleagues, family and my friends
2. play games, to pass the time~

My phone is my source of income. I use it to make money also conventional usage of smartphone

My phone is mainly used to listen to songs, watch videos, and study. Mobile phones have become an indispensable part of my life. I use my cell phone for most of my life. I will also use my mobile phone to pay. I think my life is inseparable from mobile phones.

I intend to avoid watching movie on my phone. It's been 3 years since I've got my phone so that's no longer a thing to me.

Whenever I watch a movie, I'll like it more on a bigger screen but we've got the same use with it. I'm using it recently mostly for communication through social media but not as a camera, I don't take pictures a lot.

I use my phone for Emails, Calling friends and Family, WhatsApp, Online Banking, Playing a little games and taking pictures from time to time, but the camera is not  the best, so I still have a proper camera. Also playing games on mobile is not so fun, desktop games are much better.

The present age is called the age of science and technolog if we have to choose one of the elements of technology that has taken up a huge space in our lives, then that space is undoubtedly given to smartphones. Apart from talking on mobile phones, texting, twitter, facebook etc I use games the most pubzi is more used for playing.

I use my for many things such as chatting, read emails, playing games and gambling through browsers and apps ;D

I also check the market from my phone, especially if I am not at my home and place the order buy or sell or check the balance.

Today's phones have become more sophisticated with complete features, allowing us to do many things. So the activities you do with your phone,
I and a lot of people do it too. Except for our parents who are 60 years old and above, most of them use the phone just to chat and make calls.
I can not imagine a decade in the future, will be more sophisticated function of the phone.

Many people who are 60 years old and above are familiar with using smartphones but their fingers are not agile like young people.  They are also familiar when their friends video calls them or send emails to their email account. I think that will depend on themselves how they want to know more details about smartphones.

Don't be stupid for not using your phone in Texting or at least messaging from social media apps. because that will tell how story teller you are .

Mobile is created for those usage .

Mostly for social networking, but I really like to take pictures, so the camera for me too is very important, but of course the calls

I use my LG Cosmos phone as <drumroll please> a phone. Despite it having a slide out real keyboard I don't really care 'cause I rarely text.
