Post by: Juggy777 on April 26, 2020, 01:00:17 PM If there’s one thing that I have learnt about corporates is that they never let go of any opportunity to make money, even if it means that other people end up loosing their livelihood due to their greedy actions. Hence I’m not surprised to read that 26 million Americans have lost their jobs, but America’s corporates have only added more funds to their kitty. Even during such difficult times all they’re thinking is of themselves, and are only finding more ways to make more money which is really horrible and we all should condemn them.

Post by: squatz1 on April 26, 2020, 09:05:35 PM It's to be expected that during a time of crisis and large stimulus packages being passed -- the lobbyists and companies overall know that this is a perfect time for them to pull as much pork as they can from the multitude of laws passed so far. Certain industries have gotten money that many people expected to happen - Airline industry is an example of this, where they had $25B set aside (with some string attached)
Some companies have returned money that they've received from programs that weren't explicitly designed for them (even if it was legally allowed initially) - such as Paycheck Protection Loans going to some big companies that were structured as a bunch of smaller companies. We win. If we are in lockdown, we can simply stop buying. We don't need all the extra junk corporations make for us. If we don't buy, they die. It's the same when you talk about taxing the wealthy. They simply pass their tax on to us by increasing prices. Post by: Sadlife on April 27, 2020, 12:36:47 PM Some comapanies couldn't function like in casino's because it might risk in infecting others that's why they decided to close and unable to help their employees because also of the recession. We all know most corporations in America has huge amount of debt. So i think the root of cause of all this is not those employers or companies but instead the Fed for manipulating the monetary system that resulted this financial crisis.
