Last time I've used blockchain.com for the job. I added an address as watch only and have set to send me e-mail notifications at receiving Bitcoin.

That's a good way to do it, I don't have a blockchain wallet though. However, it would be better if it can be done through an script by myself. I was looking for such a way. I guess we have such option to do that.

You can use Blockonomics  (https://www.blockonomics.co/views/wallet-watcher.html)wallet watcher or If you want to do most of the coding yourself, you can use blockchain's Websocket API (https://www.blockchain.com/api/api_websocket).

If you don't want to rely on any third party service, then the best solution would be to run a full node and use Walletnotify (https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/24457/how-do-i-use-walletnotify).

You don't need to create a new Blockchain wallet.
I would not trust them with my money.
I've used it for a certain address from one of my HD wallets. No private key sent to Blockchain.
