Title: Would you call it a success if bitcoin will stay at least $10,000 this year?
Post by: Viscore on May 08, 2020, 11:42:02 PM
Bitcoin has been very unpredictable, it has dump to its dip this year before it rally to be back at $10,000 again.
Although that price is not stable yet because we are still below $10,00 now, but then the percentage of increase from the dip is already good enough, maybe some investors already taking profit right now, but can we still expect a rise from here and what do you think the price by the end of the year?

will bitcoin drop below $10,000 or will be price at least $10,000... what's your thoughts?

Price had always been volatile and predicting its price is always been a question on this unpredictable market.I can somehow say that reaching 10k price is a good thing that had been achieved this year
but doesnt guaranteed out that we this would be the new support and the price would shoot up ahead on particular higher levels than 10k. Theres always a probability of correction or sell-off
neither it would happen on post or past halving  and as an investor then you should really be prepare on what would be the possible things that might happen ahead. One thing or one goal is
to secure out your gains in case the market would turn out to opposite.

The price of Bitcoin hit max 20k$ in 2017 and comparing with that year, its really desppointing if bitcoin reach 10k$ or 12k$ in this year. But think of 3k$,
it will be much better if bitcoin will stay atleast upto 10k$ this year  ;D

the price of bitcoin has just fallen below the price of $ 10,000. it's natural to look at volatile bitcoin prices. for now, holding on to prices above $ 10,000 is a success. however, I think that the price of bitcoin will rise slowly and exceed current prices. basically, people will never be satisfied. maybe today we see that prices above $ 10,000 are a successful thing, but we will continue to expect high prices.

Answers will always be.

Yes, it can drop anytime.

Yes, it can rise after the halving.

As long as we see that $10,000 is sustainable that's already good and a win for us. Success as it is because we have been at the bottom of it yet it has recovered. Bitcoin is volatile and the price fluctuations are always to be seen regardless of halving and news of adoption. Determine your price goal if you're good with $10,000 or not.

Agree it's disappointing but actually we cannot compare on what happen in 2017 since there are more hypes coming by that year and no disturbance with the price rally, And if you look on situation today we experience a major economic crisis which create a massive downfall on all financial institution. But I'm still glad that we are in $10k level since for going unto that price we can still say that we still have strong phase with bitcoin.

it depends on how you define success. every day that bitcoin network is handling millions of dollars worth of money being transferred all around the world fully decentralized, highly secure and with very low fees; i consider that a great success. it doesn't really matter where the price is at for that matter.

but from a fully speculative perspective of someone who doesn't care about anything else but profit it could be said that $10k is a great fail because it would mean not only a big lack of growth but also it would show a big decline. it is because $10k is below intrinsic value of bitcoin and if a whole year it stays that low it would mean there has been no more adoption. which is obviously impossible as we have already had great increase in adoption 2 months ago which still hasn't reflected on the charts.
keep in mind that price was about $12k before the COVID-19 drama started.

For.me having 10,000$ value for the year wasn't enough
to be called success because this year
is supposedly halving and we all knew that years like this
makes the bitcoin price making at least
more than half of its price pumping so maybe having a
15,000$ will be enough for me while the
effect of the Covid virus is still staying in world economy
and maybe the next year or another will be
the best and most for the whole crypto community and
may brings another difference to what we have in the last 2017 halving.

^ With the crisis, we are experiencing right now, $10k as the price of bitcoin can be considered as a success. Back then in 2017, the price hit up at $20k we cannot compare it this year for we have an economic recession globally and that has a big impact on the slow movement in bitcoin's price. Furthermore, we cannot make any prediction on the price for trading and investment are still active and aggressive especially we are near the halving which probably causes a big pump on the price afterward but nevertheless $10k will be a success if we will reach it before the end of the year.

I am hoping that Bitcoin can be able to reach the $15,000 level as we are going towards the end of the year. However, I also understand that Bitcoin is a lady that can be quite so moody at many times so yes if it can be able to maintain on the $10,000 average then I would be already happy for that. Now, we are, of course, wishing that it can be able to get into the $20,000 level, if possible. Well, we are all dreamers, aren't we?

Ok so let take away the FOMO that's been felt currently in the community resulting to both old and new Investors getting hold of as much bitcoin as they can, anticipating for a positive pre-halving price which some must have already profited and probably expecting more profit to come due to the hype surrounding the event that can spike the price of bitcoin at any moment to new pre-halving ATH.

Also take away the FUD that's to come after the event as many investors will get disappointed and probably sell their coins to avoid more losses or take profit which will result to some downward price movement. Any user that isn't satisfied by bitcoin trading atleast $10,000 must be those that bought at the 2017 as judging based on this year record bitcoin will be in profit trading at $10,000 considering at has gone as low as $4k- previously.

Yes, I would say it's a pretty good result, it's a big boost compared to the last lows like $3,500 and $3,800 and $6,500. I know that people can't wait for $200,000 or above one million, but I personally doubt those price will be achieved, at least not in this new decade, so I will be happy for as long as Bitcoin is steadily growing. And comparing to traditional markets, even doubling its price is a big deal already.

Bitcoin's more than 10 years of existence has already showed how successful this creation was. It doesn't need to stay at a certain figure just to be considered successful. $10,000 is expensive, not everyone can afford to buy Bitcoin at such figure allowing only a small fragments to your wallet considering how high the price is. We have to understand the correction, and these lows aren't bad at all because it allows us to buy and get good profit once it pumps. Healthy market swings from low to high and vice versa.

Towards end on this year then its pretty much chance for the prices to stay above 10K mark. But we need to speculate what will be the effect on the prices when we only have few hours left for halving event,I can see a slight dump which will be converted into big or its just a correction?

As you said, the bitcoin market is unpredictable but i still dont see any reason for an alarm because of the current dump in price of the market which always the exact direction bitcoin market usually possess before halving date. Mind you, this is the final dip market before the bullish start.

maybe some investors already taking profit right now, but can we still expect a rise from here and what do you think the price by the end of the year?
Such decision is expected for we cant have the same impression but some investors who have already took their profit at $10,000 mainly  plan to buy the last dip market before halving.

For me it would be a big success because i'm not looking for a way to get rid of my coins but rather a slow and steady increase.

Also the price holding 10 thousand would be a nice confirmation that we are not breaking the long term uptrend and that Bitcoin is still strong. It will allow miners to profit, holders to stay calm and confident, stock traders to hedge against the depression. It would make everyone happy :)

I believe bitcoin will stay above $10k at the end of the year and that’s a good progress for bitcoin, a success on surviving on many challenges this year. Halving happens every 4 years and we saw a big up trend after the halving period so I believe bitcoin will go high in more years to come, and the success will be felt by many.
I believe it so but that $10k is big enough for me. We started at $8k plus and $10k it is already two steps ahead which gives me profit by then but if ever the price will grow more, well, it would find luckier.

Actually, I wasn't expecting the market to increase and getting into bullish this time knowing that the pandemic still in the surge. But the crypto community is different and we saw that in front of the global issue but still we recover after reaching into the bottom $3.8k and this means that there is a lot more market change in the coming days.

Bitcoin is getting dump hard since last time and we really did not know were it will be any moment from now till the end of the year. We are at a time when I thought bitcoin will be in the $10,000 to $12,000 area because of halving but what we are seeing now is different.

I guess the FOMO is over if there is, bitcoin already dump now, and we can't tell what price it will land, or it will dump to its dip again.
We never know and of course we shall see, so if that is the way the price will move, then $10,000 would already be a good  price for me by the end of the year.

Also take away the FUD that's to come after the event as many investors will get disappointed and probably sell their coins to avoid more losses or take profit which will result to some downward price movement. I know there are still a lot of people who are holding when they bought at peak, I hope they will not loss their patience and they will continue to hold because the time will come that bitcoin will surpass the current ATH, again we will never know when, but holding is the best strategy I can recommend as a holder as well.

Success for what though? It doesn't necessarily mean that a higher price equates to success. I mean, yes, a higher price is much more favorable for most of us since most of us here see BTC as an investment, a buy low and sell high market, but if you were to honestly see what BTC is for, then having to reach $10k doesn't really mean a success. It'd be more of a successful adoption for the world, a spread of its influence and the like to call it a success.

But if you were just to talk about getting as high of a price as possible, then hmm, I wouldn't really call it successful but rather just a natural turn of events? or maybe a satisfactory answer. I mean, we reached $10k last year at around mid-year twice and the market has been pretty much hanging around there. It only dropped to $4k last time cause of the panic caused by the virus, and you can basically say that the market has already recovered already. We still have what, 7 months left, if BTC stayed on around $10k only, then that can only be satisfactory or normal. If it reached around $15k or higher, then maybe you can consider that as a success.

Definitely, because the pump we are seeing now is the effect of Halving what matters is the price should be the same even after the Halving. The major impact is COVID-19 apart from that big whales are playing their roles in pump and dump not sure how much the price will go, few prediction the value will drop massively after halving so to me if it reach 10k by the end of the year that's okay..

Success for each person would be different and anyone who had bought at lower level and ends up at higher at the time of sell will consider him as a successful in making money from cyrpto. Though if compared to the same time that during year how btc has performed overall and how the coins has performed if bought late or sold early than there would be variations and this could lead to differ the answer. Though its being long long time before the btc has stayed above 10k for now and anything above it will be a really a good thing for now.

I am glad that most of the voters sees bitcoin staying at $10k by the end of the year a success.
It's true that $10,000 is just hard to achieve and to remain stable at that price at the same time, we've seen bitcoin at $10,000 just recently, but it dumped now, so I am hoping the rest of the year we will be able to see bitcoin going uptrend than it will struggle to stay at a good price again.

many attempts for 10k usd this year and until now price didnt cross to 10k usd even the help of incoming halving hype  but what if the price didnt cross its because there was a crisis   .  now they say crisis will last a long time so i think price will be staying only this way   .

i havent place a vote on the poll because for me btc is already sucesful no matter what its price   . its running for the 10 years or more now and many people already benefiting from it  .

Nope because i expect much better for Bitcoin before the end of the year mate.

Yeah we can see and look upon the situation and bad economic positioning now but we have more than 7 months to wait.

Maybe 12-15k is enough for me before end of December and may increase more in the following year as the effect of The Bitcoin Miners Halving is still on the air.

To be honest, yes, and I would be happy if Bitcoins touched 10000$. It seems that this border is hard to cross and price is struggling quite a while now to come again to that value.
This year is full of surprises, especialy the situation will pandemic that has shaken the whole world and it's still hard to tell what else we might expect. That doesn't only influence traditional financial markets but cryptocurrencies too.
Even if the price crosses 10000$ it's hard to tell for how long it can stay there or go even further.

Just keeping a good average price is a success, people state the peaks but the majority capture the average and only a few trade at peak prices before it disappears again.   A rising long term average in the 200 day average is far more positive then spiking up to a price then declining just as fast.
Most of what I remember of the 2017 peak was really around the 10k area, to have achieved that multiple times since has put us as bullish quite often since and I dont rate the peak price as an absolute guide.

You can answer these questions based on experience.

After all, it was all speculation if we drop prices here. Even experts can't answer what should be the price by the end of the year.

And there will be no stable price as long as crypto is not being used as a primary mode of payment.

In the term "SUCCESS" then it will depend on each person because we do have different goals. In general aspect then calling success will mean about reaching high price in a particular time compared on what happened in the past or lets say it is much higher if we do base on statistics and how much more if we do reach nor even break the previous all time high which is really a success thing.

On investors side then success will particularly talk about gains no matter what price it would be as long it do shows green or gains then it would be considered itno that criteria.
We wont we even know if the price would hold up 10k in a matter of year, with this price volatility aspect its really hard to presume or decide things because
it can either go down unexpectedly.

Whatever the price it is aslong as it stable and cannot create panic due to the dump we can call it success and although there is a series of dump but still bitcoin still here alive and giving us an opportunity we can still call it a huge success.

Bitcoin still running and if the price died quickly you can call it a complete failure but it will never happen since many supports bitcoin.

Its not a success because it is meant to happen. I mean, we have seen more than $10k before and that doesn't surprise if we hit $10k or more this year. And mind you, it hit last few days before halving event. Though it doesn't last longer but it was expected to go down because of this halving. We are in unstable market and it is not new if it broke the $10k resistance level or we may experienced above that level.

if we will going to compare this year having 10,000$ value to those last 2 years?i think we must be very grateful to have at least $10k this whole 2020.

Yeah i must respect that we are in halving season but also we are in deep crisis guys.

The world is suffering from recession so what can we expect?Keep the holding for a while at least until next year and then lets decide if we need to go out or will stay.

I would call that will be a little success if bitcoin can stay to $10k this year. But that would be great if bitcoin can hit more than $15k before the end of this year, so we can have a chance to recover our lost in a few years ago. Many people still guessing on how much bitcoin can increase in this year, at the end of this year, or next year but the truth is bitcoin can move and hit any highest price, especially when the time is right. Maybe bitcoin price will give a surprise in the month.

I vote for YES, for the reason that we are in a very specific year, the pandemic has done its thing and the consequences will be felt for years to come. Given the current situation, I think that $10k by the end of this year would be quite a decent price, which on the other hand would be $6000 + from currently the biggest bottom we have on 11/12 March this year.

This of course does not match the wishes of those who expected much more with regard to halving, but one should be realistic and look at a much broader picture than just expect the price to go to the moon on its own. However, we should not be pessimistic either, because we have seen that the price can change very quickly in both directions, so it is quite realistic to conclude the end of the year with $15 000, but also with $5000.

The economy in many countries has driven down still BTC managed to reach 10k is a real achievement for me and obviously it's a big success..

that is why i am speaking reality and don't wanna fool myself believing to have Bullrun but was not real.

When bitcoin already reached $10,000 in this year earlier then reaching it again cannot be considered as real success to bitcoin so people might expect new all time high or at least $15K by end of this year to consider them selves as success on investing in bitcoin especially due to halving speculation.

If above $10k became the norm for the second half of the year I'd say that is success for the year. Right now $7k-$8k feels normal - a price range its been bouncing around give or take for a long time. So if several thousand dollars higher than that feels like a normal market accepted value that the price doesn't go below except maybe briefly during a crash that'd be solid gains for the year. I don't expect things to really start heating up until 2021 and 2022 (at which point I think we'll see another peak). So just gradual build up this year to the point where 5 digits becomes the norm for the first time in Bitcoin's history would be great.

We would really much prefer on having that gradual increase than going or moving up too fast because most likely that would really
be followed by a correction.Playing prices or these waves are normal yet market has always been like this.If we stay up 5 digit on the rest
of the year or into future years to come then that would really be called a success but doesnt mean that we wont already be heading back down
again to 4 digits.Market is way too volatile which it can crash out without even expecting.

I would definitely call it a success. You think bitcoin can only go up, but there is also a big reason why it could go down as well, as long as people keep on selling bitcoin it could go down and that is something none of us will want. Right now price is not even $10k, which means in order to reach $10k it should go up and that is fine enough for me, I do not need it to go to $20k or something, I find it refreshing enough to actually stabilize in the price and that is cool.

If we actually go over $10k eventually and never go down this year and end the year on a streak of over $10k price for months, that will carryover to 2021 as well and we are going to have one hell of a year in 2021 thanks to that. Which means I am more than happy to keep the price on $10k.

In my own point of view, i will really call it a success and i am already okay with that when bitcoin will stay atleast $10,000 this year, so i could avoid panicking when bitcoin's price is below $8,000 and i could have more patience to maintain my long term investment.

will bitcoin drop below $10,000 or will be price at least $10,000... what's your thoughts?

Price will go beyond $10,000 this year. This is just around half part of the year and we are seeing price at $9400. This is good for further bull run at the time all economy restarts again as many are getting back to work again, then the different sectors will contribute to human development.

We already touch that price but unfortunately it dumps suddenly but the good thing here is the price stabilize at $9000 which is much amazing to see if the price will reach to that figure maybe and became stable then we can call it success but if not and yet $9000 will show then go stable for several months still we can define it as success.

THe price really doesn't matter, if it exists and is used and valued by people as reliable and useful in aiding their online transactions then its a bit of science fiction made real and is amazing every day it operates.   We all got used to it but Bitcoin is still amazing it exists and many still wait for it to fall over and fail and they been waiting a while now, it defies gravity so yes its success no matter what imo.
