Title: List of scams exposed by Rikafip. 130+ and counting! Post by: Rikafip on May 09, 2020, 08:52:38 AM When I recently went through my scam related topics looking for one specific scam, I realized that lst grow quite big, and it was inconevenient to go through them like that, so I decided to make this thread, to make it bit easier to keep an eye on them, and update when needed as sometimes old scams reemerge. This list will be regularly updated with new discoveries.
For those that are interested in scam busting or just wanna check each project before investing either time or money, but are not quite sure how to do it and where to start, there are few good guides made by @Coolcryptovator that helped me a lot at the beginning, along with other fellow scam busters whom i contacted quite a few times asking for an opinion or advice. 🌍 Guidelines, how to spot a scam ICO & report effectively. ✔ (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5004397.0) 🌍[Guide] Prevent scam!!! Therefore, there is still a lot of work ahead for you. I added your thread to my topic, which has a similar list: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5181153

I added your thread to my topic, which has a similar list: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5181153 There is constant influx of new people into crypto, so it's no surprise that scammers are still very active, despite not an ideal market situation. We can't stop scammers on other social media platforms, but at least we can help keep bitcointalk a bit safer place for those that are still new to all this. Congratulations for 1000 Merits ! Thanks Lafu for pushing me to that nice round number, I appreciate it! And special thanks for starting and keeping that thread with fake ANN that are being used to spread malware regularly updated, you made forum much safer place for those that are less experienced/careful.Have given you the needed Merits for 1000 ! Wow... I just saw you have more than 1000 merits now :) Yep, reached that milestone way sooner than i expected, but well, just another proof that it's not impossible to rank up on this forum. Now it's your turn, as you are very close to start with that Legendary "lottery" thing. Hopefully you won't have to wait until end.New addition to the list

Just to add that last one on the list (Ether-Flow) needs some flag support. Thanks!

@Rikafip can you tell me which tools do you use to check whitepaper plagiarism? Title: Re: List of scams exposed by Rikafip. 90+ and counting! Post by: Rikafip on July 02, 2020, 05:09:28 PM Bitwings put alot of effort into showing themselves legit and viable, but in the end, they slipped Yep, thy did invest some money and effort into promotion and they could have appeared legit for much longer if they didn't make that bold claim about Smartphone that could mine 2 ETH per month. But then again, that was their main selling point and way to attract investors. Unfortunately some of them fell for that nonsense and ordered the phone. I am ashamed that I also joined PZM Cash bounty, I did not know that I am actually promoting a scam, However, I have supported the flag. From what I can see many joined their bounty campaign, but good to hear you stopped and supported the flag!@Rikafip can you tell me which tools do you use to check whitepaper plagiarism? Regarding the tools, I don't use anything fancy really, I simply copy/paste parts of the content and Google it. I tried some tools before, but honestly they weren't much better, so I just stopped using those. There are some good ones on the market, but only if you want to pay. Title: Re: List of scams exposed by Rikafip. 90+ and counting! Post by: ChiBitCTy on July 03, 2020, 10:09:23 AM First of all thank you. As someone who spends an ungodly amount of time scam hunting/researching etc on here ( I also take it to other social platforms/active doing it there as well) I know how much work it is. I really appreciate the links too as I'm willing to put in the time but unlike many here, I don't have the technical skills to make my life easier doing this stuff and could use any tips out there to save myself time.
If you ever need a hand on a project, give me a shout I mostly go after physical bitcoin companies /individuals that are scamming/running shady auctions etc. That said as an investment advisor by trade & also crypto literate I think I could be helpful looking through white papers and debunking financial type claims many coins make. To me this stuff is obvious but I found out when I spent god knows how many hours going after bitconnect that most people just don't understand financial aspects of altcoins ( trading bots/ promises of "guaranteed interest" for ex.) what so ever. Cheers. Title: Re: List of scams exposed by Rikafip. 90+ and counting! Great, good to hear that. I often come across suspicious projects (to be honest, at least 90% of them doesn't make much sense) but sometimes it is very hard to find proof strong enough to make a case, so I often need 2nd opinion, and/or help, as I am not really an expert in tehnical stuff, and scammy projects often use tehnical mumbo jumbo and buzzwords in order to hide their true intentions.I'll definitely keep you in mind when I see something dodgy going on (and that is quite often). Title: Re: List of scams exposed by Rikafip. 100+ and counting! Post by: Rikafip on September 18, 2020, 02:05:20 PM Nine new scams have been busted since the last update, and have been added to the list. Adding those nine, list surpassed 100 scams exposed by me since my first report that was almost one year ago, on September 2019. When that first scammer kept annoying me on telegram , trying to convince me to invest in a ponzi scheme I had no idea I'll end up reporting them here regularly.
In the last few weeks there is an obvious increase in number of DeFy scams, and since we are not nowhere peak yet, that number will probably keep increasing until bubble bursts, like it was during last ICO hype. Unfortunately, that means this number of exposed scams will keep increasing.
Title: Re: List of scams exposed by Rikafip. 110+ and counting! Post by: Rikafip on October 28, 2020, 09:29:24 AM Thirteen new scams have been added to the list since last update approximately one month ago. Pretty busy period i must say. Recent scams are mostly fueled by DeFi hype that is somewhat slowing as more people are loosing money and they are not bringing same returns as month or two ago, but scam numbers might increase even more as BTC is gaining some momentum and getting over 13,000 USD, bringing out more of those that want to seize the opportunity and take advantage of those that are greedy/less experienced.
Title: Re: List of scams exposed by Rikafip. 120+ and counting! Post by: Rikafip on December 01, 2020, 05:49:33 PM Another busy month on scam busting scene, eight new ones have been added to this ever growing list. Bitcoin price keeps going up and and it is very close to reaching new all time high, and that means one thing- scammers will became active more than ever as bunch of new people start fomoing and investing in absolutely anything that has word "crypto" in it and promises high return, like cryptocurrencies are magic money
Title: Re: List of scams exposed by Rikafip. 130+ and counting! Post by: Rikafip on January 05, 2021, 04:51:42 PM One month passed, time to update the list of exposed scams. As expected, numbers are still high and in the previous period nine more scams have been busted. Seems like trend of scammy DeFi projects are kinda slowing down, or at least that was my impression based on the scams I've encountered. Might be that they are starting to avoid bitcointalk and are focusing their promotion via other platforms like Telegram and Discord as they know that in most cases they will be busted because all they have is copied content.
With new BTC all time high we can expect increased scammers numbers but luckily bitcointalk has very active scam busting community so vast majority of them are busted soon after showing up, whether through announcement or bounty thread.
Title: Re: List of scams exposed by Rikafip. 130+ and counting! Post by: Rikafip on February 22, 2021, 10:09:58 AM Three new scams have been added to this evergrowing list of scams exposed, reaching the number of 136. It might be just my idea and impression, but I think that despite initial boom and still ongoing hype that surrounds them, DeFi scams started avoiding bitcointalk as scammers figured out that their nonsense won't pass unnoticed by forum's scambusters so I guess they are advertising somewhere else where they can do it freely. What we are left are mostly ponzies that are still very popular and probably will be as bitcoin keeps reaching new all time high, bringing greedy newbie investors who won't think twice whether 100% ROI on the monthly basis makes any sense at all.
