Post by: Juggy777 on May 10, 2020, 03:33:24 PM
Hello everyone it seems that scammers are streaming live videos of bitcoin giveaways on YouTube right now, and in these videos they’re showing that Apple Co Founder Steve and Alibaba’s Jack Ma are giving away free bitcoins. Furthermore many people have already began to send funds to them in anticipation of receiving free bitcoins, and therefore I thought to update you’ll of this latest scam and I hope that no one from here will fall for this.

Wow, these are becoming very frequent then, I saw another channel get hacked recently - few weeks ago... That live got taken down within a few hours and I think the account was returned to its owner.

They were using coinbase giving away free btc as their "strategy"...

Now the amount of giveaway scammers has increased. Because now I see paid advertisements of such fake giveaway videos on Youtube, which surprised me a lot. How youtube allow them to run a scam giveaway video paid promotion? These channels can be hacked channels, there are a lot of subscribers to the channels. And since there are newbies in these channels who don't know about this scam yet, they have sent funds to scammers in the hope of doubling BTC. It is very sad that they lost their money in this way.

So how do we protect ourselves from these Youtube scammers?

(1) Educate our selves that there's no such thing as free BTC
(2) Youtube needs to do better with their process, on what videos are to be seen in their platform

And as crypto users we have responsibility to:

(1) Report fake videos right away so that Youtube will react
(2) Warn this community like the OP did

Those videos have been take down already.
